The contamination of animal feed with mycotoxins is a threat to the safety of feed and represents a worldwide problem for livestock breeding. One of the most effective ways of protecting animals from mycotoxicosis is the use of feed additives with adsorption properties. The research was conducted on the basis of the laboratory of control of feed supplements and premixes of the State Scientific-Research Control Institute of Veterinary Preparations and Feed Additives. In order to carry out researches, a feed additive «Liatoksyl» produced by Ltd. «Sanfort-P» was used. Feed additive «Liatoksyl» is a powder of gray color with a specific odor. The composition of the feed supplement includes zeolite, bentonite, silicon oxide, fumaric acid, citric acid, and succinic acid. Feed supplement «Liatoksyl» belongs to the category of technological additives. The study of the effectiveness of the use of the feed additive Lyatoxil in relation to the ability to inhibit or reduce the absorption of mycotoxins, promote their elimination. Established, the studied feed additive possesses pronounced adsorption properties in relation to T2-toxin and fumonisins. The feed additive in acidic environment (pH 2) adsorbed 185 μg/l of fumonisin from 200 μg/l, which is 92.5%. After incubation in a weakly alkaline environment, the concentration of fumonisin in the supernatant was 3 μg / L. The adsorption activity of the feed supplement with respect to the T2 toxin was lower compared to fumonisins. Thus, in acidic environment (pH 2) adsorption was 179 μg/l of T2-toxin from the introduced 200 μg/l, which is 89.5%.The practical efficiency of the feed supplement when mixed with toxin T2 and fumonisin was mixed, but substantially lower than in screening studies. The practical efficiency of the dietary supplement «Liatoksil» in the screening study for fumonisin was 90.5%, in relation to the T2 toxin – 86.5%. This is evidently due to the fact that the fodder mixtures contain mono- and disaccharides, fatty acids, triglycerides, inorganic salts, etc., which to a certain extent react with the feed additive, reducing its effectiveness against mycotoxin. The practical efficiency of the fodder additive «Liatoksil» when applied to the feed in different doses relative to fumonisin was 70.7–74.1%, in relation to the toxin T2O – 36.1–40.5% The greatest effect was achieved when adding the feed additive «Liatoksil» to the feed in doses of 2–5 g/kg.

Practicability of using a complex mineral and vitamin feed additive (CMVFA) in the ration of black-and-white calf breed was studied. Decreased content of such elements as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sulfur, manganese, copper, zinc, and cobalt was registered. The correlation of nutritive and mineral substances, and the level of their availability for digestion did not provide for their need. CMVFA use facilitated the increase of all hematologic parameters. Tested recipes which had different content of sapropel and zeolite, as well as various types of macronutrients, microelements, and vitamins, positively influenced the digestive processes in animal bodies. Young stock from the test group that was receiving food additives according to recipe No. 1 showed 6.6 increase in the quantity of red blood cells compared to control group animals, and 6.93 increase in hemoglobin quantity the ones who were fed according to recipe No. 2 demonstrated the increase by 11.05 and 11.39 recipe No. 3 showed 16.75 and 15.27 increase, which means that the ratio of macronutrients and microelements present in CMVFA and the mutual interaction of copper, iron, and cobalt played a special role in the concentration of formed elements due to the fact that they are integral elements of blood. Total protein of young stock that was receiving food additives according to recipe No. 1 was 1.99 higher than in test group animals calcium 16.02 higher carotene 10.92 as for recipe No. 2 the values were increased by 4.91, 25.96, and 19.12 recipe No. 3 3.58, 27.07, and 20.21. Substantial increase in the content of protein, calcium, phosphorus, and carotene compared to control group animals can be explained by the fact that their insufficiency in animal feed was replenished due to the use of feed additives, and as a result their content increased in the serum but did not go beyond the norm and corresponded to physiological norms.

The influence of feeding high-performance cows of the energy feed additive Cobiotic Energy on the physiological state and productivity have been studied. Experiments have been carried out on with groups of dairy cows with 10 animals each during 55 days. The diet of cows of the first control group consisted of haylage of cereal and leguminous plants, corn silage, molasses, cereal hay, and feed of own production. 0.3 kg of feed additive has been introduced into the diet of animals of the experimental group II 15 days before calving, in the first 10 days after calving, as compensation for energy losses, 0.75 kg 3 times a day. In the next 30 days of the milking season with the ration of animals of the experimental group II, 0.25 kg of Cobiotic Energy has been fed, sprinkling it on top of the feed mixture. It has been established that the use of feed additives in the diets of cows has a positive effect on feed intake, physiological condition and animal productivity. It was determined that concentration of metabolizable energy in 1 kg of dry matter of the diet made 9–16– 9.2 MJ. The diet contained 12.8–13.0 % of crude protein per 1 kg of dry matter, the concentration of fiber in dry matter made 22.3– 22.0 %. The sugar-protein ratio made 1.04:1; 1.0. In terms of energy nutrition, the diet of the experimental group due to the inclusion of the feed supplement was 6 MJ higher, however, it slightly affected concentration of metabolizable energy of the diet. The energy-protein ratio corresponded to 0.2– 0.21. The nitrogen balance in the rumen was positive in all the animals and was at the level of 0.13–0.4 g. Feeding animals with supplement in the diet in the last 15 days of the dry period, during the first 10 days after calving and the next 30 days of the milking period promoted activation of protein biosynthesis and energy metabolism, as evidenced by an increase in serum total protein and its albumin fraction and ultimately increased animal productivity. The studied supplement use in the diets for cows makes it possible to increase performance of cows by 8.0 %, fat content by 0.1 %, protein by 0.24 %, lactose by 0.11 %, reduce the cost of feed for obtaining natural milk by 6.1%. Key words: feed supplement Cobiotic Energy, cows, diets, blood, milk yield, feed costs, milk quality.

Abstract Seaweed (known as the marine algae) has a tradition of being part of the animal feed in the coastal areas, from ancient times. Seaweed, are mixed with animal feed, because when consumed alone can have some negative effects on the animal. Seaweed are very rich in useful metabolite (pigments, carotenoids, phlorotannin, polyunsaturated fatty acids, agar, alginate and carrageenan) and minerals (iodine, zinc sodium calcium, magnesium, iron, selenium), being considered as a natural source of additives that can substitute the antibiotic usage in various animals. Inclusion of naturally available material in poultry feed additive can have a positive influence on the poultry performance and enrich the quality of their by product. As an easily available and renewable biomass rich in biologically active compounds, seaweeds can meet this demand. Different forms of seaweed powder from naturally occurring biomass, cultivated or waste biomass, extracted compounds, post extraction residues or liquid extracts may be used in poultry feeding. This study describes the nutritional values of seaweeds and their effects in poultry feed additive, and to what extent their unique properties can serve as an alternative to antibody growth promoter.

With the prohibition of the use of Antibiotic growth promotors (AGP) used in animal feed, especially in broilers, the use of feed additives such as herbs, probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics or mixtures of some of these ingredients is currently widely used as feed replacements for AGP substitutes. One of the commercial feed additives that contain combinations herbal and probiotics is Promix®. In broiler maintenance, one vaccine that must be given is Newcastle Disease (ND) vaccine. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of supplementation of commercial feed combination of herbs and probiotics in broilers given ND vaccines. A total of 42 broilers were divided into two, group A (vaccinated with ND) and B (not vaccinated ND), each with 21 heads. Group A is divided into groups A1, A2 and A3 each with 7 heads. The A1 group is given only basal feed; A2 basal feed and AGP; A3 basal feed and Promix®. Group B is divided by B1, B2 and B3 same as group A before. Broilers are maintained for 5 weeks and weighing each week. All data obtained were statistically analyzed using One Way ANOVA and continued with Duncan's post hoc test. The results of this study were that the group of chickens given the ND vaccine and given supplements of Promix® had greater weight gain (P˂0.05) compared to the AGP and basal groups in the fifth week while in the group of chickens that were not given the ND vaccine but given supplement Promix® feed had greater weight gain (P˂0.05) compared to the AGP and basal groups in the fourth week. In the fifth week there was no significant difference (P˂0.05) between all feed groups in the group not given the ND vaccine. The conclusion of this study that feed additives contain combinations herbal and probiotics can replace AGP as feed additive in broiler. By giving ND vaccine the weight gain of the feed group plus Promix® showed a significant increase in weight gain.

Abstract Sampling an animal feed containing a granulated analyte is extremely difficult. A granulated feed additive, Tylan® (Elanco, tylosin), was used to demonstrate how a granulated product can increase assay variability if steps are not taken to reduce and control this variability. The number of tylosin granules was determined for Granulated Tylosin Concentrate, the active ingredient of Tylan Premix. Multiple weighings of 3 lots of the concentrate were prepared, and the average number of granules per gram of concentrate was determined with the aid of image analyses. The total weight of Tylan Premix in varying analytical samples was calculated. Finally, the average number of tylosin granules per analytical sample was calculated based on the average number of granules per gram. A10 g analytical sample obtained from an animal ration containing 8 ppm tylosin activity would contain an average of 1.16 granules of tylosin, and a 100 g analytical sample would contain 11.6 granules. These calculations demonstrate the need to increase the analytical sample size in analyzing an animal feed containing a granulated feed additive.

Abstract Phytase is one of the most effective feed additives to increase the availability of phosphorus and minerals by catalyzing the hydrolysis of phytic acid. A modified appA gene (mappA) was transformed into soybean (Glycine max) under the control of a seed-specific promoter from common bean (Phaselous vulgaris). The soybean recombinant phytase showed optimal activity at pH 4.5 and 70 °C. A slight increase in enzyme activity occurred when the recombinant enzyme was pre-incubated with n-hexane. In addition, the phytase activity from our transgenic soybean does not reduce even after 2 hours of extraction with n-hexane at 55~65 °C. In conclusion, the oil extraction process using n-hexane does not inactivate the phytase expressed in the mAppA transgenic soybean, and the meal derived from the transgenic soybean processing can be used as feed supplement to livestock.

This article discusses the topic of confirming the conformity of the quality of feed and feed additives coming into circulation at the Russian feed market. The idea is substantiated that technical regulation measures applied without fail to feed and feed additives are not sufficient to reduce the risk of a low-quality product entering circulation. It was found that the presence of registration of a feed additive is not a criterion for issuing a declaration of conformity and, accordingly, it is possible to draw up a declaration for an additive without its state registration. The article aims to draw the attention of manufacturers of feed and lump additives and their consumers to the issues of product quality and possible ways to solve this problem. Also, the manufacturer has the opportunity to confirm the conformity of the quality of the product on a voluntary basis. Based on the statistical analysis carried out, as well as the use of information on the number of registered and valid declarations for feed, feed additives registered in other EAEU member states, an analysis of data on the number of valid declarations registered in the Russian Federation in the Rosaccreditation register was formed.

The contamination of animal feed with mycotoxins is a worldwide problem in the animal husbandry, but it also represents a serious threat for the whole food chain. The health of both animals and humans is potentially endangered. From this point of view aflatoxins are a class of mycotoxins especially well known. Therefore, new strategies to combat these natural contaminants are constantly being developed. The most applied method to protect animals against aflatoxicosis is the utilization of feed additives aimed to adsorb aflatoxins. In order to estimate adsorbing potential of feed additive “MycoStop DUPLO”, designed for the prevention and/or alleviation of adverse effects of aflatoxin B1 in animal nutrition, in vitro trial was conducted. As a result of the experiment, conducted at pH 5 during 120 minutes of incubation at 37°C, the optimal formulation of the adsorbent was revealed. This product, in low concentration and in the presence of high amounts of toxin, met the stringent European regulation requirements for minimum 90% aflatoxin binding efficiency (90.1% achieved with 0.02% adsorbent and 4 mg/L toxin concentration). In higher adsorbent (0.2%), and lower toxin (0.2 mg/L) conditions, adsorption was 99.6%. Such outcome indicated the validity of in vitro experimental approach which can serve as a reliable fast tool for triage of adsorbents and preselect them for in vivo tests.

The eff ectiveness of correction of the content of some macronutrients in the blood of cows with diff erent types of higher nervous activity (HNA) and vegetative status has been confi rmed using feed additive “Germatsink”. In cows with a weak type of higher nervous activity, the potassium content in the serum in 10 days after the administration of the nanopreparation increased by 16.0% (p <0.05), calcium by 4.7%. 10 days after the start of the task of the nanopreparation, the sodium content in the blood cells of the cows of HF and a weak type of GNI becomes less than only 8.7% (p <0.05) and 15.1% (p <0.05) compared with the cows with SVR type GNI.The sodium content in blood cells 30 days after the start of studies in cows of HF and a weak type of GNI does not signifi cantly diff er from the indicators of cows of the CBP type. However, 45 days after the Germatsink feed supplement was prescribed in the blood cells of cows of a weak type of GNI, the content of this metal again becomes signifi cantly higher by 9.2% (p <0.05) of the cows of the SVR type of GNI.In cows with a weak type of higher nervous activity, the serum potassium content within 10 days after the start of the task nanopreparations increases by 16.0% (p <0.05). According to the infl uence of the feed supplement Germacin in the blood cells of sympathetic cows, the ratio of sodium to potassium is normalized. It should be noted that the assignment of the Germacinc feed additive to animals with SVR, SVI and SN type of GNI does not signifi cantly aff ect the potassium transmembrane potential. Whereas the value of this index in cows with a weak type of HNA decreased by 20.9% in 45 days of research (p<0.001). Therefore, the studies shown that the administration of feed additive “Germatsink” to cows with diff erent types of HNA had corrective eff ect on the content of some macronutrients in the blood of animals. Key words: nerve activity, cows, macronutrients, feed additive, blood cells.
