Cognitive decline in diabetes mellitus is not fully understood, though is generally ascribed to blood sugar levels exceeding normal (hyperglycemia), hypoglycemia conditions and insulin resistance. Cognitive function consists of aspects of memory, attention, executive function, perception, language, and psychomotor functions which affect the decline in cognitive function, especially in people with Diabetes Mellitus. This study aims to summarize the results of research on cognitive function in people with Diabetes Mellitus. The research method used was a literature review with an assessment using JBI critical appraisal tools. Articles were sourced via the PubMed database and Google Scholar using the search term ‘Cognitive Function AND Diabetes Mellitus’. The inclusion criteria were studies with quantitative design, full text, a population comprised of patients with Diabetes Mellitus, written in Indonesian or English. Six articles were reviewed, all the results state that patients with Diabetes Mellitus experienced a decrease in cognitive function, especially in the Executive Function, Visuospatial, and the Memory Domains.   Keywords: Cognitive function, Diabetes mellitus, Literature review

AbstractDiabetes Mellitus is a group of metaboloc disoreders with sysptoms of increased blood sugar levels(hyperglycaemia) which results in damages to insulin secretion, insulin secretion,insulin activity, or both wrong behaviour ina diabetic diet will make blood sugar levels unstable and will have an impact in patients health problems. This study aimed to describe compliance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus through a literature review. The method used in the literature review wa to search for articles from 2011-2021 through NCBI searchles and the Garuda Portal. The searching results were obtained in the from of full text and pdf,rhen reviewed by using the strobe instrument,extracted then discussed, and concluded. The results of a literature review of 5 articles showed that there was an effect of dietary compliancr in patients with diabetes mellitus with results. Dietary adherence of diabetes patients was 324 respondents (58%) non-adherence and 235 respondents (42%) obedient in dientary compliance in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. It can be concluded thet non-adherence diabetic patients can experience unstable blood sugar levels. Nurses should be able to increase the understanding of the importance of dietary compliance for patients with diabetes mellitus.Keywords: Compliance, Diet, Diabetes Mellitus. AbstrakDiabetes melitus merupakan sekumpulan hambatan metabolik dengan gejala peningkatan kadar gula darah (hiperglikemia) yang berdampak kerusakan sekresi insulin,aktivitas insulin, atau keduanya. Perilaku yang salah dalam diet diabetes akan menjadikan kadar gula darah tidak stabil dan akan berdampak pada gangguan kesehatan pada pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepatuhan diet pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2 melalui literatur review. Metode yang digunakan dalam literature review adalah mencari artikel tahun 2011-2021 melalui penelusuran Ncbi dan Portal Garuda. Hasil pencarian yang didapatkan berupa fulltext dan pdf, kemudian direview dengan menggunakan Intrumen strobe, diekstraksi kemudian dibahas dan disimpulkan. Hasil penelitian literature review dari 5 artikel menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh terhadap kepatuhan diet pada pasien diabetes mellitus dengan hasil Kepatuhan diet pasien diabetes 324 responden (58%) tidak patuh dan 235 responden (42%) patuh dalam Kepatuhan Diet Pada Penderita Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan hasil penderita diabetes tidak patuh menjalani diet sehingga kadar gula darah dalam tubuh tidak stabil. Bagi perawat hendaknya dapat meningkatkan pemahaman tentang kepatuhan guna dapat memperbaiki diet bagi pasien Diabetes mellitus.Kata kunci: Kepatuhan , Diet, dan Diabetes Mellitus.

Abstract Background We aimed to examine the effect of physical activity on different cognitive domains among patients with diabetes. Methods We used two waves of data from the Chinese Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS, 2013–2015), a nationally representative dataset of Chinese population aged over 45. Total physical activity scores were calculated based on the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Executive function and episodic memory were used as measures of cognitive function. We conducted lagged dependent variable models to explore the association between physical activity and cognitive function in full sample as well as two different age groups (45–65, ≥65). Results: 862 diabetic patients were included. We found that diabetic participants who had greater level of physical activity at baseline were associated with better episodic memory function in 2 years (p < 0.05). Moreover, physical activity was significantly associated with less decline in episodic memory in fully adjusted models, and the associations were stronger among patients aged 45–65 years (p < 0.05). No statistically significant association was found between physical activity and executive function in all age groups. Conclusions Physical activity may prevent some of the potential decline in episodic memory in diabetic patients. Clinicians and public health departments should strengthen the promotion of physical activity and develop early screening tools among diabetic participants to prevent the progression of cognitive impairment.

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by an increase in blood glucose (hyperglycemia). Physical activity has an impact on insulin action in people at risk for diabetes mellitus.Lack of activity is one of the contributing factors that causes insulin resistance in type II diabetes mellitus and diet is the behavior of humans or a group of humans in meeting their dietary needs which include food attitudes, beliefs and choices. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between patterns of physical activity and diet with blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes melitustipe II. The research method used is a qualitative method. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between patterns of physical activity and diet with blood sugar levels. Conclusions there is a relationship between patterns of physical activity and diet with blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes melitustipe II

ABSTRACT Background: An increase in blood sugar levels caused diabetes mellitus, and various other health complications. One of the herbal therapy approaches can be used by consuming mahogany seeds which are believed to reduce blood glucose levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of consuming mahogany seeds to reduce blood sugar levels. Subjects and Method: This was a quasi-experiment with non-randomized control group pretest-posttest design conducted on March 24-26 2020. A sample of 22 respondents was divided into 2 groups: treatment group and control group selected by purposive sampling. The data was collected by observation. The data was analysed by Paired t-test. Results: The treatment group before consuming the dry extract of Mahogany seeds (Mean= 258.27; SD= 46.98), and after consuming the dry extract of Mahogany seeds (Mean= 185.36; SD= 38.85). In the control group, before consuming the extract of Mahogany seed ekring (Mean= 224.27; SD= 14.73), and after consuming Mahogany seed extract (Mean= 213.27; SD= 6.75). It was statistically significant (p= 0.001). Conclusion: Consumption of dry extract of Mahogany seeds effectively reduces blood sugar levels in patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Consumption of mahogany seeds can be used as a complementary therapy in nursing to reduce blood sugar. Keywords: Consumption of dry extract of Mahogany Seeds, Diabetes Mellitus. AbstractDiabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that cannot be cured, but can be prevented by using the 5 pillars of diabetes mellitus management, one of which is controlling blood sugar levels. Patients with diabetes mellitus need support from the family because the family can influence a person's behavior and lifestyle so that it has an impact on the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. To determine the relationship between family support and blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus through a literature review. The data collection technique uses a literature review method of 5 articles sourced from an online database with electronic searches on Google Scholar, Garba Garuda, and ProQuest published in 2017-2021. The critical analysis instrument used is using a strobe. The results of a literature review on the family support variable were 2 articles with supporting categories as many as 128 respondents, 2 articles with less categories as many as 63 respondents, and 1 article with good categories as many as 22 respondents. Variable blood sugar levels 2 articles in the controlled category as many as 98 respondents, 1 article in the poor category as many as 45 respondents, 1 article in the controlled category as many as 17 respondents, and 1 article in the diabetes category as many as 29 respondents. Untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan keluarga dengan kadar gula darah pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2 melalui literature review. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode literature review 5 artikel yang bersumber database online dengan penelusuran elektronik pada Google Scholar, Garba Garuda, dan ProQuest yang dipublish pada tahun 2017-2021. Instrumen telaah kritis yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan Strobe. Hasil literature review pada variable dukungan keluarga 2 artikel dengan kategori mendukung sebanyak 128 responden, 2 artikel dengan kategori kurang sebanyak 63 responden, dan 1 artikel dengan kategori baik sebanyak 22 responden. Variable kadar gula darah 2 artikel dengan kategori terkendali sebanyak 98 responden, 1 artikel dengan kategori buruk sebanyak 45 responden, 1 artikel dengan kategori terkontrol sebanyak 17 responden, dan 1 artikel dengan kategori diabetes sebanyak 29 responden. Background: Skin is the largest and most visible organ in the body. It undoubtedly determines to a great extent our appearance and plays  a  major  role  in  socio-sexual  communication.  More  than  one  third  of  diabetic  patients  have  some  type  of  dermatologic 1 manifestations during the course of their chronic disease . The association of certain skin diseases with diabetes mellitus has been 2 3 fairly well recognized with an incidence rate ranging from 11.4% to 66%.  At least 30% of patients with diabetes mellitus have some 4 5 type of cutaneous involvement during the course of their chronic disease.  Skin sugar levels run parallel to the blood sugar levels. Skin changes generally appear subsequent to the development of DM but may be the first presenting sign or even precede the 6 diagnosis by many years. Among the many skin manifestations in DM, none is pathognomonic of this disease. Cutaneous findings in DM can be classified into four categories: (1) skin disease with strong association and others with less distinct association with DM, (2) cutaneous infections, (3) dermatological disorders related to diabetic complications, and (4) skin conditions related to diabetes 7 treatments.Objectives: This study was undertaken to find out the pattern of Dermatological manifestations in Diabetes patients attending Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kohalpur. Method and material: This is a hospital- based descriptive study conducted  in  the  Department  of  Dermatology,  Venereology  and  Leprology  of  Nepalgunj  Medical  College  Teaching  Hospital, Kohalpur  between   September 2013 to August 2014.  A total of 100 patients were included in the study. History and clinical examinations were performed and the data were recorded and analyzed. Results: The age of the patients ranged from 20 years to 85 years with the mean age of 51.7+12.13 years. The most common age groups were 46-55 years (36%) followed by 56-65 years (24.7%) and 36-45 years (17.3%), 66-75 years (9.3%), 76-85 years (12.7%). Among the 100 patients of diabetes ellitus, there were 44(44%) males and 56 (56%) females.  Among  the  cutaneous  disorders  commonly  associated  with  diabetes,  infections  were  the  most prevalent. 59(59%) out of 100 patients had skin infections.Conclusions: Patients with Diabetes can present with array of cutaneous disorders. Cutaneous infections formed the largest group of dermatoses in this study. Increased incidence of cutaneous infections mainly fungal and bacterial was noticed in majority diabetics emphasizing the need for more aggressive management of diabetes mellitus. Among infective dermatoses, fungal infections were the most common, with Candidal infections being more common than dermatophytosis.JNGMC Vol. 13 No. 2 December 2015, Page: 31-34

There are still many of our people who have never heard or even seen the shape of the Japanese ants, so sometimes people consume Japanese ants with different doses between people with each other and even some who consume Japanese ants are not appropriate doses because they want to get well soon. The purpose of research to know the relationship between consumption patterns of Japanese ants and blood sugar levels of people with diabetes mellitus. The design of this study is correlational analytic with crossectional approach. Variables of this research there are two that is the pattern of consumption of Japanese ants as an independent variable and blood sugar levels as the dependent variable. The population of this study was all patients with diabetes Mellitus who had suffered > 5 years who consumed Japanese ants in Grinting Village Karangjeruk Village Jatirejo Subdistrict Mojokerto regency as many as 10 respondents. in the sampling of researchers using total sampling technique. Data collection with an observation sheet of Japanese ant consumption and blood sugar level. The result of the research showed that most of the respondents consume Japanese ants regularly as much as 6 respondents (60%) and most respondents have blood sugar level in the normal category that is between 100-125 mg/dl as many as 6 respondents (60%). Consumption Japanese ants can routinely lower blood sugar levels of people with diabetes mellitus because ants contain enzymes that can keep blood sugar levels diabetics.

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that continues to increase from year to year. The act of detecting hypoglycemic episodes is a must for a diabetic patient. This study aims to present the optimization of blood glucose self-monitoring measures in patients with diabetes mellitus and to review some of the literature on this topic.Methods: This study is a form of literature review of articles with the theme Optimization Self Monitoring Blood Glucose in diabetes mellitus patient detecting hypoglicemia episodes. Articles in this study came from the electronic databases of Google Scholar, PubMed, Proquest, Scopus and Science Direct from 2005 to 2020. Results: Search results using the keywords Self Management Blood Glucose, Hypoglicemia, Diabetes Mellitus were obtained from 57 articles. 18 articles that met the inclusion criteria were then reviewed for their full text. Conclusion: Self Monitoring Blood Glucose is a preventive measure in detecting hypoglycemic episodes. This intervention is the best choice for patients to prevent further complications.
