<em>The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of polysaccharide krestin</em> (<em>PSK) </em><em>on the testicular protein profiles and testosterone levels of Mus musculus with variety of dosages. This research used a completely randomized design. It were devide into four treatment group i.e. control group, PSK treatment at a dose of  15, 30, 60 mg/kgBW. Each group had six replications. Testicular proteins were isolated by flushing technique and analized by SDS-PAGE. Testosterone levels were analized using ELISA technique at wavelength 450 nm. Protein bands analysis showed that there were no diversification between four treatments. Molecular weight of protein bands were 87, 63, 57, 35, and 30 kDa. The results of research showed that the testosterone levels at dosage 60 mg/kgBW had significanly different with control, PSK treatment of 15 and 30 mg/kgBW. PSK treatment of  60 mg/kgBW had lowest level at dosage, i.e. 25946.8 ρg/mL.   Excessive continuous noises exposure changes the male hormone system which leads to formation of oxidative stress and results in disrupt of semen quality. This condition can be reduced by the use of antioxidants. Grape seed is one of the antioxidants that contains phenol components that have Resveratrol compounds. This research aimed to observe the effect of noise exposure on the number of spermatozoa of male mice given grape seed extract. The method of the research was a post-test only control group design with research subjects of 30 male Mus musculus L. (Swiss Webster) mice divided into 5 groups: group A (treatment control) was not given noise exposure and grape seed extract, group B (negative control) was not given noise exposure and was given grape seed extract, groups C, D, E (treatment group) were given noise exposure with sequential intensities of 65 dB, 85 dB, 105 dB. The treatment was given for 33 days. The results showed that noise exposure with different intensities of 65 dB, 85 dB, 105 dB reduced the spermatozoa count of male Swiss Webster mice even with the administration of grape seed extract. One Way Anova test was used to analyze the data with p-value of 0.001. Conclusion: There were differences in spermatozoa count between the control group and the treatment group. Provision of noise exposure with a value above the threshold limit reduces the number of male Swiss Webster mice spermatozoa given with grape seed extract. Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using herbal ingredients on income over feed costs of broiler chickens. The material used in this study was: broiler DOC. This study was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and each treatment consisted of 4 replications. The treatment used in this study is the use of herbal ingredients in drinking water with the use level as follows: P0: without the addition of herbal ingredients, P1: water + 10% herbal ingredients, P2: water + 15% herbal ingredients, P3: water + 20% herbal concoctions. The variables observed in this study were feed consumption, feed costs, and income over feed costs for broiler chickens. The data obtained (income over feed cost) is analyzed using a variety of analysis with a completely randomized design (CRD). The results showed that the highest feed costs were found in the P3 treatment group followed by P1, P2, P0 and the lowest was P0. Whereas at P0 the cost of feed is lowest because there is no use of herbal ingredients. Based on acceptance data, the highest revenue was in the P1 control group of Rp. 31,430.6 while the lowest acceptance was in the P0 group of Rp. 24,814.8,100. The low acceptance in this study was caused by the low body weight of broiler chickens during the study. Income Over Feed Cost during the highest research was found in the P3 group (3,568), and the lowest was found in the treatment of P1 (979) P0 (1,964), P2 (1,937) because the cost of feed was higher than acceptance. drinking water has a very significant effect (P <0.01) on Income Over Feed Cost. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the use of herbal ingredients as additive feeds has a very significant effect on IOFC broiler chickens.

SUMMARY This study was performed to evaluate the effect of the inclusion of paprika and marigold extracts in sorghum-based rations on the productivity and egg quality of laying hens. One hundred sixty laying hens were distributed in a completely randomized design in five treatments and in a factorial arrangement (2 × 2 + 1), one control ration based on corn, two levels of paprika extract (0 and 6 g/kg diet), and two levels of marigold extract (0 and 1 g/kg diet) in sorghum-based rations. There was no effect (P > 0.05) of the treatments on the weight, specific weight, and Haugh unit of the eggs and productive performance, but the inclusion of paprika extract resulted in eggs with lower egg pH. The interaction between the control group and the factorial was significant (P < 0.05) to the laying rate, egg mass, and yolk color, whose values were lower with sorghum-based diets with no pigment compared to control treatment. The interaction between the paprika and marigold extracts was significant increasing the height (P < 0.03) and color (P < 0.0001) of the yolk when paprika extract was used, with or without marigold extract. Marigold extract inclusion reduced the percentage (P < 0.02) and thickness (P < 0.01) of the eggshell. As conclusion, the inclusion of paprika extract in sorghum-based diets for laying hens is viable for improving the egg quality.

Abstract: Candidiasis or infection that is caused by Candida has become a new list of the therapeutical problems recently. The difficulties in diagnosing are the main cause of the unsatisfactory results from common therapies and diagnosis methods. This has urged researchers to find alternative ways in candidiasis diagnosis such as serology-based detection using antigen or antibody development. The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of protein derived from Candida albicans biofilm as bioreceptor on candidiasis immunoassay through Dot Blot method. The research method used descriptive method with the following stages: (1) preparation of Candida albicans biofilm (2) extraction of Candida albicans protein through enzymatic and mechanical methods, (3) determination of protein molecular weight with SDS-PAGE (4) production of polyclonal anti- candida and (5) analysis of protein extract as bioreeceptor on dot blot. Profile of biofilm proteins on SDS-PAGE analysis were shown on molecular weight 27,42; 29,89; 38,10; 44,90; 48,75; 52,92; 55,14; 59,86; 70,56; 87,36; 102,54;115,05; 130,14;143,14;181,53 kD. There were differences in the intensity of dots in the control group (44070) and treatment groups (63170.5). It is noticeable that biofilm protein extract of C. albicans can be used for induction of anti-Candida polyclonal antibody production as the potential candidate of bioreceptor in candidiasis immunoassay. Keywords: SDS-PAGE, polyclonal antibody, immunoassay, dot blot, biofilm
