Pesantren (madrassah) is Indonesia's oldest educational institution; it is through pesantren (madrassah) that the country's national educational system was formed, and despite the rapid changes in society, pesantren has managed to keep its characteristics. The kyai, santri, mosque, and classical reference books are at least three key parts of pesantren culture (Kitab Kuning). Pesantren play a critical role in distributing Islamic moderation in the society to maintain community resilience, since the tendency of social religiosity in today's Indonesian culture has reached into religious conservatism to some extent. The objective of this research is to describe pesantren elements (Kyai, Santri, Masjid, and Kitab Kuning) are engaged in producing religious moderation character-building approaches and patterns. This research examines five renowned Nahdhatul Ulama pesantren in Central and East Java using a qualitative methodology. According to results this study that based on in-depth observations, documentation, and observation of the pesantren environment under independent investigation, as well as interviews with pesantren leaders (kyai) and other informants who are fully acquainted with the pesantren under research. The Pesantren-Islamic boarding school-style integrated education system and the classical halaqah system, according to the findings of this study, became an integrated and complementary educational system, preparing social cadre with an understanding of religious moderation, which was actualized in the form of national commitment, religious tolerance, anti-violence da'wah, and accommodative behavior to local culture. The results of this study can be implemented that the four elements of pesantren can be used as a strategy in strengthening the values of islamic moderation not limited to the pesantren but extended to the scope of national life.***Pesantren adalah lembaga pendidikan tertua di Indonesia; Dari pesantren (madrasah) perkembangan sistem pendidikan nasional di Indonesia terbangun, meski terjadi perubahan masyarakat yang dinamis, pesantren tetap mampu mempertahankan ciri khasnya. Setidaknya ada tiga unsur penting dalam budaya pesantren, yaitu kyai, santri, masjid, dan kitab klasik (kitab kuning). Tren religiusitas sosial dalam masyarakat Indonesia saat ini - sampai batas tertentu - telah menunjukkan gejala ke arah konservatisme agama, oleh karena itu pesantren memainkan peran krusialnya dalam mensosialisasikan diskursus moderasi Islam di masyarakat untuk membentengi sekaligus membangun resiliensi sosial dari arus konservatisme agama yang ekstrem. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggambarkan elemen pesantren (Kyai, Santri, Masjid, dan Kitab Kuning) yang digunakan dalam mengembangkan strategi dan pola pembentukan karakter moderasi beragama. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologis dengan melihat lima pesantren ikonic Nahdhatul Ulama di Jawa Tengah dan Jawa Timur. Berdasarkan hasil observasi mendalam dengan mendokumentasikan dan mengamati lingkungan pesantren melalui inkuiri independen, serta wawancara mendalam dengan beberapa informan yang benar-benar mengenal pesantren yang menjadi objek kajian. Selanjutnya temuan penelitian ini, sistem pendidikan terpadu ala pesantren dan sistem halaqah klasik-sistem pendidikan terpadu dan komplementer pesantren- telah mampu mempersiapkan kader masyarakat yang memahami moderasi beragama, yang diaktualisasikan dalam bentuk komitmen kebangsaan, toleransi beragama, dakwah tanpa kekerasan, dan perilaku akomodatif terhadap budaya lokal. Hasil kajian ini dapat diimplementasikan bahwa empat elemen pesantren dapat dijadikan strategi dalam memperkuat nilai-nilai moderasi beragama tidak terbatas pada lingkungan pesantren tapi diperluas pada lingkup kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara.

Nahdlatul 'Ulama (the Renaissance of Ulama) is one of the big Islamic organisations in Indonesia, which has shown its ability to guide Muslim community to get out from difficult situation in national  life.  However, it needs strong framework of thought which comes from living tradition in the members of NU. As an religious organisation, NU determined  political goals that are based on the doctrine of Ahlus Sunnah  wa/ Jama'ah, decreed in basis for the NU organization platform in In its efforts in spreading da'wah, NU has many activities that  are  related to Islamic da'wah, which include educational institution, pesantren, mosque and politics. This is a for of an organized da'wah.

<p><em>The rise of radicalism ideology, became the main work of the madrasa as a guardian of Islamic ideology that rahmatan lil alamin.. A unique phenomenon was found by researchers in an educational institution, namely in the Al-Azhar Menganti Vocational School (SMK), a middle-level educational institution that is included in the shelter of the Darul Ihsan Menganti Islamic boarding school foundation. Al-Azhar Menganti Vocational School (SMK), at the beginning of the admission of new students, each new student was given material on religiousness (NU-an), and there was ta'lim muta'alim in the style of the cottage for Nahdlatul Ulama. In addition, the NU studies were a study that was the closing point at the end of each semester, as one of the objectives was to achieve Islam rahmatan lil alamin and efforts to win the rise of the radical movement. This study uses qualitative research methods that produce descriptive data in the form of written or oral words from people and behaviors that can be seen during the research process. Related to this is arranged on the background of this individual as a whole (intact) without any engineering. Some of the main capital invested in Al-Azhar Vocational School students, as a real effort to counteract the amount of radicalism in the world of education, one of which is by incorporating self-education into the school curriculum as a local substitute. Islamic revitalization movement in Indonesia could not be separated from the figure of Ahmad Dahlan as a founder of Muhammadiyah. This can be traced through the early history and development of Muhammadiyah which is indicated by the lights of Ahmad Dahlan through Islamic revitalization movement. This article observes the personage of KH. Ahmad Dahlan from anthropological and sociological view. This observation is intended to find out the role of the person in the map of community development. The main aim of this article investigates correlation between the figure of KH. Ahmad Dahlan and educational system of the Islamic boarding school (pesantren) in Indonesia. The correlation of Muhammadiyah and Islamic boarding school is examined thorugh three categories as significant indicators to show the function and role of the Muhammadiyah. The three categories are: educational institution and the development of Islamic teachings, institution of struggle and Dakwah Islamiyah, and institution for community empowerment and public service. Of the three categories, this study found that KH. Ahmad Dahlan is a figure who could respond to its latest challenges quickly and precisely through revitalization movement in the field of education, dakwah, and community empowerment in Indonesia.

ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pembentukan karakter pada siswa yang bersekolah di sekolah berasrama. Karakter menentukan individu dalam bersikap ketika menghadapi konflik. Manifestasi karakter yang paling fundamental muncul bila seseorang dihadapkan pada permasalahan yang cenderung merugikan mereka. Sekolah sebagai lembaga pendidikan memiliki peran penting dalam menemukan potensi baik dan mengembangkannya agar menjadi karakter dalam diri siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian survei dilakukan untuk memetakan sejumlah 156 siswa di SMK Al Munawwariyyah. Hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa Sebagian besar siswa memiliki karakter pantang menyerah 66.7%, lapang dada 87.8%, inovatif 73.7%, disiplin 80.6%, bertekad kuad 60.9%, demokratis 78.2%, peduli 97.4%, tanggungjawab 83.3%, dan bersahabat 85,9%. Sebagai upaya dalam pembentukan karakter sekolah perlu meningkatkan program ekstrakurikuler untuk mengasah karakter siswa agar semakin baik saat terjun dalam masyarakat.Kata Kunci : karakter, masalah sosial, sekolah berasrama ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to analyze the character building of students who attend boarding schools. Character determines the individual's attitude when facing conflict. The most fundamental manifestation of character appears when a person is faced with problems that tend to harm them. School as an educational institution has an important role in finding good potential and developing it so that it becomes a character in students. This research is a survey research with a quantitative approach. The survey research was conducted to map a number of 156 students at SMK Al Munawwariyyah. The survey results showed that most of the students had an unyielding character of 66.7%, roomy 87.8%, innovative 73.7%, discipline 80.6%, determined to quadruple 60.9%, democratic 78.2%, caring 97.4%, responsibility 83.3%, and friendly 85.9% . As an effort in shaping school character, it is necessary to improve extracurricular programs to hone student character so that it is better when they are involved in society.Keywords: character, social problems, boarding school

This study is abaut the Mu’adalah Boarding School Policy and the Implementation of curriculum at the Islamic Senior High School (Madrasah Aliyah) Salafi Tremas Pacitan.The educational institution of the Islamic boarding school is an inseparable part of the nationally educational system. This changes the minset and point of view of the previous Islamic boarding school that was considered as a non-formal institution that did-not get good appreciation of its graduates. The research findings show that the mua’adah Islamic boarding shcool has been established as an institution that is equivalent to other formaleducational institutions by the ministry of religious. The status of Salafiyah Islamicsenior high school is stronger. Furthemore, it must be improved directly its educationalquality, teacher competences, and the curriculum implementation of theIslamic SeniorHigh School of Salafiyah Tremas Pacitan.

Abstract Pesantren or as usually assosiated to an Islamic boarding school is one kind of typical Indonesian Islamic education established by the community. In the process, most of the islamic boarding school seeks to respond to the demands of the times by modernizing its institution by establishing formal educational institutions ranging from pre-schools to higher education level. Besides, several islamic boarding schools try to remain its original characteristics as islamic educational institutions that focuses on tafaqquh fi al-din (religion deepening), which teaches the students how to understand the content of yellow book. Islamic boarding schools that seeks to combine the two dimension, while maintaining its identity as an educational institution that tafaqquh fi al-din but on the other hand also adopted the formal education system, especially higher education is then popularly known as integrated boarding school. This study was interesting to get further investigation in order to analyze and find the concepts and models of management of integrated educational between islamic boarding school and college and the implications for improving the quality of its graduates. This study used a qualitative approach with multisite study as its research design. Finally, the study concluded that the concept of integrated education initiated by Ma'had Dalwa Bangil and Pondok Ngalah Purwosari consist of two different concepts, namely "the concept of systemic integration" that defined as an idea that want to integrate all components of the education system in both institutions, by integrated the educators, learners, curriculum, and the building or other facilities. The second concept is "organic integration”, it is about the idea that want to integrate the spiritualistic value inside the pesantren education and the values of college intellectuals. The concept of integrated education both systemic and organic has been implemented in two models: "structural model" and "cultural model". Structural model is a model that try to synthesizes boarding institution's organizational structure, while the cultural model is done by creating a culture in the two institutions that show balanced condition between spirituality and intellectuality. The two models have improved the quality of graduates at both institutions. Keywords: Integrated Education, Pesantren, Campus, Improving The Quality of Graduates   ملخص الباسانترين أو المعاهد الإسلامية هي نوع من التعليم الإسلامي الإندونيسي الذي أنشأها المجتمع. في العملية ، تحاول معظم المعاهد الإسلامية الاستجابة لمطالب العصر بتحديث مؤسساتها من خلال إنشاء مؤسسات تعليمية رسمية تتراوح ما بين مرحلة ما قبل المدرسة PAUD إلى التعليم العالي. بالإضافة إلى ذلك ، تحاول بعض المعاهد الإسلامية الاحتفاظ بخصائصها الأصلية كمؤسسات تعليمية إسلامية تركز على التفقه فى الدين أو تعميق الدين ، والذي يعلم الطلاب كيفية فهم محتويات الكتب الصفراء. المهاهد الإسلامية التي تحاول الجمع بين البعدين ، مع الحفظ على هويتها كمؤسسات تعليمية هي "التفقه فى الدين" ولكن من ناحية أخرى تتبنى نظام التعليم الرسمي ، وخاصة التعليم العالي الذي عرف فيما بعد بمعاهد إسلامية متكاملة. هذا البحث للاهتمام على حصول من التحقيقات لتحليل وإيجاد مفاهيم ونماذج لإدارة التعليم المتكامل بين المعاهد الإسلامية ومؤسسات التعليم العالي الإسلامية وانعكاساتها على تحسين جودة الخريجين. تستخدم هذه الدراسة نهجًا نوعيًا مع دراسات متعددة كتصميم بحثه. وأخيراً ، خلص البحث إلى أن مفهوم التعليم المتكامل الذي ابتكره معهد دالوى بانجيل ومعهد عالاه بورواساري يتكون من مفهومين مختلفين هما "مفهوم التكامل المنهجي" الذي يعرف بأنه الفكرة التي تريد دمج جميع مكونات التعليم. نظم في كلا المؤسستين ، من خلال دمج المعلمين والطلاب والمناهج الدراسية والمباني أو غيرها من المرافق. المفهوم الثاني هو "التكامل العضوي" ، والذي يدور حول الأفكار التي ترغب في دمج القيم الروحية في التعليم المعهدي والقيم الفكرية للتعليم العالي. تم تنفيذ مفهوم التعليم المنهجي والعضوي المتكامل في نموذجين: "النماذج الهيكلية" و "النماذج الثقافية". النموذج الهيكلي هو نموذج يحاول تجميع البنية التنظيمية للمؤسسات المعهدية ، بينما يتم تنفيذ نموذج ثقافي من خلال خلق ثقافة في مؤسستين تظهر حالة متوازنة بين الروحانية والمثقفين. وقد أحسن كلا النموذجين جودة الخريجين في كلا المؤسستين. مفتاح الكلمات: التعليم المتكاملى ، المعهد الإسلامي ، الجامعة ، تحسين جودة الخريجين Abstract Pesantren atau yang biasa diasosiasikan dengan pondok pesantren adalah salah satu jenis pendidikan Islam khas Indonesia yang didirikan oleh masyarakat. Dalam prosesnya, sebagian besar pondok pesantren berupaya merespons tuntutan zaman dengan memodernisasi lembaganya dengan mendirikan lembaga pendidikan formal mulai dari pra-sekolah hingga tingkat pendidikan tinggi. Selain itu, beberapa pondok pesantren mencoba untuk tetap karakteristik aslinya sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam yang berfokus pada tafaqquh fi al-din (pendalaman agama), yang mengajarkan siswa bagaimana memahami isi buku kuning. Pesantren yang berupaya menggabungkan dua dimensi, sambil mempertahankan identitasnya sebagai lembaga pendidikan yang tafaqquh fi al-din tetapi di sisi lain juga mengadopsi sistem pendidikan formal, khususnya pendidikan tinggi yang kemudian dikenal dengan sebutan pondok pesantren terintegrasi. Penelitian ini menarik untuk mendapatkan investigasi lebih lanjut untuk menganalisis dan menemukan konsep dan model manajemen pendidikan terintegrasi antara pondok pesantren dan perguruan tinggi Islam serta implikasinya untuk meningkatkan kualitas lulusannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi multisite sebagai desain penelitiannya. Akhirnya, penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa konsep pendidikan terintegrasi yang diprakarsai oleh Ma'had Dalwa Bangil dan Pondok Ngalah Purwosari terdiri dari dua konsep yang berbeda, yaitu "konsep integrasi sistemik" yang didefinisikan sebagai gagasan yang ingin mengintegrasikan semua komponen pendidikan. sistem di kedua lembaga, dengan mengintegrasikan para pendidik, peserta didik, kurikulum, dan bangunan atau fasilitas lainnya. Konsep kedua adalah "integrasi organik", yaitu tentang gagasan yang ingin mengintegrasikan nilai spiritual dalam pendidikan pesantren dan nilai-nilai intelektual perguruan tinggi. Konsep pendidikan terintegrasi baik sistemik dan organik telah diimplementasikan dalam dua model: "model struktural"dan" model budaya ". Model struktural adalah model yang mencoba mensintesis struktur organisasi lembaga asrama, sedangkan model budaya dilakukan dengan menciptakan budaya di dua lembaga yang menunjukkan kondisi yang seimbang antara spiritualitas dan intelektual. This study reports on the planning and management of Islamic Boarding School  Daarul Abror in developing curriculum of Islamic Education Subject. This study attempts to address the following question; (1) How is the administration management at Islamic Boarding School DaarulAbror?  (2) How are the development and implementation Islamic Education Subject at Islamic Boarding School DaarulAbror? It is conducted at Islamic Boarding School Daarul Abror Bangka, Bangka Belitung Islands Province. The data for the study are obtained through two instruments; The interview and observation.The interview is conducted to obtain the clarification and expanation from the boarding school. The observation is done during the interaction in the teaching learning process to observe the activities done in the school. The subject of this study is the vice-head master of the school  who has been a teacher as well as curriculum developer in the Islamic Boarding School. The finding reveal that, (1) the administration management at Islamic Boarding School Daarul Abror is conducted based on the educational institutions of the Ministri of Religious Affair and the Ministri of Education and Culture Republic Indonesia. (2) the development of and the implementation of Islamic Education subjetcs is by applying education in a classroom as well as out of classroom refering to the achievement life skill and the Islamic character building in dayly life. Based on the finding it is recommended that the stakeholders of the Islamic Boarding School should keep managing their institution to develope and applying nowdays educational system.

AbstrakPondok pesantren merupakan  lembaga pendidikan dan pengajaran agama Islam secara tradisional yang tumbuh dan berkembang di tengah-tengah masyarakat. Seiring dengan perkembangan zaman, pondok pesantren tradisional berubah menjadi pondok pesantren modern dengan tidak meninggalkan agama sebagai pijakan. Perkembangan ini sudah mulai tampak sejak awal abad ke-20, dengan berdirinya pesantren-pesantren modern dan atau berubahnya pesantren tradisional menjadi pesantren modern. Pesantren tersebut mengalami pergeseran orientasi, dengan tidak hanya mengajarkan masalah uhkrowi (keagamaan/akhirat) semata tetapi juga masalah keduniawian. Hal ini tercermin dari penyesuaian-penyesuaian yang telah pesantren lakukan dalam menghadapi zaman yang semakin maju, salah satu pesantren tradisional yang berkembang menjadi pesantren modern adalah Pesantren Cipasung Singaparna, Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mengungkap sejarah perkembangan Pesantren Cipasung Singaparna. Fokus bahasan mendeskripsikan secara historis tentang gerak perjalanan Pesantren Cipasung mulai dari masa penjajahan Belanda, pendudukan Jepang, zaman kemerdekaan, dan kiprah pesantren di Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).  Penulisan sejarah Pesantren Cipasung Singaparna dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode sejarah, yaitu: heuristik, kritik, intepretasi, dan historiografi. Pondok pesantren sekarang ini tidak hanya mengajarkan ilmu keagamaan, tetapi ilmu pengetahuan dan masalah keduniawian. Oleh karena itu, pondok Pesantren Cipasung Singaparna mempunyai tiga peranan penting, yaitu: sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam, pengembangan sumber daya manusia, dan pengembangan masyarakat.  AbstractMuslim boarding school (pesantren) is an educational institution and study of Islamic which develop in the middle of the society in the traditional ways.  Along with the developing of the era, traditional Muslim boarding school also become modern but still keep the religion values.  This era can be seen in the 20th century, the appearance of modern Muslim boarding school or the changes of traditional Muslim’s boarding school into modern one.  Thus boarding school got the displacement of orientation because they are not only teaching about ukhrowi (religiousness/the hereafter) but also about worldliness.  It is because they need to adjust the period that they live right now.  One of the Muslim’s Boarding schools that has changed is Pesantren Cipasung Singaparna, Tasikmalaya Regency.  The objective of this research is to reveal the history of Pesantren Cipasung Singaparna since the Dutch and Japanese colonialism, the era of Indonesian independence, until in the pace of NadhlatulUlama (NU) as the biggest Muslims organization in Indonesia.  The method that the writer used is historical method, which contains; heuristic, criticism, interpretation, and historiography.  Muslim boarding schools in this era are not only taught about religiousness or the hereafter but also teach about worldliness or scientific knowledge.  That is why Pesantren Cipasung Singaparna have three important roles; the institution of Islamic Study, the developing of human resources, and the developing of the society.

Introduction. The COVID-19 pandemic may have hit the education industry the hardest, but the socio-psychological effects of quarantine are still poorly understood. A group of scientists from the Ukrainian SMC of practical psychology and social work of the NAES of Ukraine has conducted a study of the socio-psychological problems that have arisen for teaching staff of general secondary education establishments in the context of the pandemic. Purpose. The research was carried out during the implementation of the scientific topic «Overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in the activities of the psychological service of the educational system» on the order of the National Research Fund of Ukraine. Design\approach\methodology. The study was conducted by interviewing educators through Google forms. Most of the questions contained a 10-step scale. In processing the data, all respondents’ answers were grouped into 5 categories: "yes", "more likely to", "more likely not", "no", "don’t know/it’s hard to say". The survey was attended by 3,209 teaching staff from general secondary education institutions from all regions of Ukraine, 45% from urban areas, 55% from rural areas; among which 92% were women and 8% were men. Results. Among the results, researchers highlighted the difficulties and fears of educators caused by the pandemic. The fears and complexities of the profession were distributed as follows. 1. The fear of getting infected (infecting family members) is common to 78.2% of the surveyed. 40.9% of the interviewed felt this fear to the greatest extent. However, 9.3% found those fears irrelevant. 2. Problems associated with the use of ICT in educational activities (lack of competence) — 53.2%. Among those, 22.2% have major difficulties and 31% have minor difficulties. Only 15.7% consider themselves fully competent. 3. 73% of educators noted difficulties in involving children in distance learning. This was the main problem for 12.8% of respondents. 4. «It is difficult to adhere to all anti-epidemic requirements in an educational institution to protect students» — 69.5% stated that this is one of the most significant problems of professional activity. 5. Emotional exhaustion, loss of emotional balance, excessive fatigue. 58.7% said that the problem was significant, of which almost 18% said it was very significant. 6. 51.1% of respondents indicated that they were unable to communicate with students' parents regarding monitoring the quality of their students' knowledge. Of these, 8.7% rated it with the highest score. 7. Health related difficulties (consequential of COVID-19). 31.2% of educators consider this problem to be relevant, while 8.9% rated it as very relevant. 30.4% of those interviewed denied the existence of such a problem. Conclusions Taking into account the results of the study, the most relevant areas in the work of the psychologists in the educational system are the following: ● prevention among educators and students of the COVID-bullying; ● working with negative emotional states of participants in the educational process and increasing their stress tolerance; ● providing socio-educational assistance to children and families in difficult life situations, and forming positive life prospects. Wakaf is a Maliyah worship that have tight relation with development of umat welfare. It is a worship in the form of social economy. The potential of wakaf is huge nowadays however it does not use optimally yet because of some factors so that it cannot give maximum role in bringing welfare for society and empowering society’s economy. Wakaf does not only support the development of science but also prepare all facilities needed by students of university or society.Modern Boarding School Darussalam Gontor, Islamic boarding school that considered has been successful in organizing productive wakaf to finance itself and because of that, it can be the role model for developing educational institution base wakaf. Most of the result of wakaf used to develop the business and another used for teachers’ welfare and funding institutions of boarding school in shelter of PMDG. Some of the fund also donated to assistance founding of religious social life of society around.As for the concept of wakaf PMDG refers to maqashid – al shari’ah that is in level of law enforcement (tatbiq al hukmi) that is create welfare and avoid mercilessness. Trimutri in his wakaf concept more emphasizes on the welfare aspect aimed to that wakaf is a media to get closer with Allah SWT. It is form of Hajiyyat needs to possess the nature of religion, and give humanity assistance institutionally (at – tahbis), and for education of Islamic boarding school related to the intelligence development, so that it can give advantage optimally for Muslim’s life later.Key words: productive wakaf, Wakaf Gontor, Maqashid al – shari’ah.
