AbstractThis research was instigated by students’ difficulty at the tenth grade of State Senior High School 10 Pekanbaru in comprehending chemistry concept of Hydrocarbon Lesson that made them unable to achieve optimal learning achievement, thus a teaching lesson was required to guide them to comprehend the concept.  It was done by designing a teaching lesson in the form of handout Guided Inquiry based.  This research aimed at knowing the validity and practicality levels of handout Guided Inquiry based that was valid and practical.  It was a Research and Development (R&D) with 4D (four-D) model, modified by doing limited trials and removing disseminating step.  It was administered at State Senior High School 10 Pekanbaru.  The primary data were collected in this research through questionnaire.  Validity and practicality test questionnaires were the instruments of collecting the data.  The data obtained were analyzed by using Descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques.  The handout produced was tested, its validity level was 89.94% (very valid) and its practicality level was 76.50% (practical).  Based on these results, it could be identified that the handout tested was appropriate and practical to be an alternative teaching lesson for teachers in a school. Keywords: Handout, Guided Inquiry, Hydrocarbon

This research was a quasi-experiment instigated by the low of student character building. This research aimed at knowing the effect of implementing character building through guided inquiry strategy on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution material at state senior high school 9 pekanbaru that characters studied were honesty, responsibility, cooperation, discipline, and curiosity. Purposive sampling was used in this research, and there were two classes of samples selected that the tenth grade of Natural Science 4 was as the experimental group taught by implementing Character Building through Guided Inquiry strategy and Natural Science 3 was as the control group taught by using discussion, question and answer methods. This research was conducted for three meetings. Documentation and observation were the techniques of collecting the data. T-test was used to know the research findings of student communication skill. Final data processing results showed that tobserved was 2.19 and ttable was 1.99, and it revealed that tobserved was higher than ttable. Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. There was an effect of implementing Character Building through Guided Inquiry strategy on Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte Solution material at State Senior High School 9 Pekanbaru, and its coefficient effect was 5.86%.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya perhatian dan pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap kearifan budaya lokal yang ada dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Salah satunya adalah tradisi nyawér pangantén yang dilaksanakan dalam upacara perkawinan adat Sunda. Berdasar pada latar belakang, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mendeskripsikan struktur dan fungsi tradisi nyawér pangantén, 2) mendeskripsikan nilai etnopedagogik yang terdapat dalam tradisi nyawér pangantén, dan 3) mendeskripsikan tradisi nyawér pangantén bisa menjadi alternatif bahan ajar bahasan budaya Sunda di SMA. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif dalam penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu mencakup data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer diperoleh dari hasil wawancara dan observasi. Data sekunder diperoleh dari telaah pustaka dan perekaman serta pendokumentasian. Penelitian ini dikaji dengan kajian struktur tradisi lisan, etnopedagogik, serta hasil bahasannya digunakan menjadi bahan ajar di SMA. Dari hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tradisi nyawér pangantén mempunyai aspék teks, ko-teks, dan konteks yang sangat penting. Selain itu, dalam tradisi nyawér pangantén juga terdapat moral manusia kepada Tuhan, kepada pribadinya, kepada manusia lainnya, kepada alam, terhadap waktu, dan dalam mencapai kepuasan lahir dan batin. Serta hasil analisis dalam pembahasan tradisi nyawér pangantén dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ajar bahasan budaya Sunda di SMA.AbstractThis research was motivated by the low level of knowledge and concern of the community towards local wisdom culture existed in everyday life. One of them is nyawer pangantén tradition, which commonly held during Sundanese traditional wedding ceremony. Based on the above background, this study aimed to 1) describe the structure and function of traditional pangantén custum, 2) describe the ethnopedagogic values contained in the traditional pangantén custom, and 3) describe the traditional pangantén custom as an alternative teaching material for Sundanese culture in Senior high school. The method used was descriptive in qualitative research. Sources of data in this study included primary and secondary data. Primary data obtained from interviews and observations. While secondary data was obtained from literature review, recordings and documentation. This research was performed by a study of the structure of oral traditions, ethno-pedagogic, and the results of the discussion used as teaching materials in high school. From the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that nyawer pangantén tradition has a very important aspect of text, co-text, and context. In addition, nyawer panganten tradition contained human morality to God, to themselves, to other humans, to the nature, to time, and in achieving satisfaction outwardly and inwardly. Furthermore, the results of the analysis revealed that nyawer pangantén tradition can be used as a teaching material for discussing Sundanese culture in Senior High School.

The lack of Biology teaching materials in senior high school in the Kerinci District has promoted this research. The purpose of this development research is to produce e-modules as teaching materials used by students in Biology subjects. The model used in developing this e-module is the 4-D model, which consists of 4 stages, namely defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. Biology e-modules on plantae and animalia material based on the potential of the Kerinci region were validated by media and material experts. The results of the media expert validation obtained the final percentage of 90% (very valid category) and the material expert validation obtained a percentage of 75% (valid category). From the results of the field test, the teacher responded that the e-modules produced were suitable for use in biology class X high school learning with a percentage of 92.5% (very good category). Furthermore, e-module trials on students obtained responses that the products produced were also proper to be used in biology learning in class X of senior high school. The small group test obtained a score of 85% (excellent category) and the large group test obtained score 78.3% (good category). The use of the developed e-modules in learning resulted in a score of 76.3% (successful category).

The aim of this research was to know whether there are significant affection of reduction language error in students essay writing by using peer, teacher and self-feedback and to investigate which the best one of the strategies on reduction language error in students essay writing. The 126 tenth grade students of one senior high school in Tangerang were chosen as the sample which taken by non-random using purposive sampling. This research used experimental method with three experimental groups design. Students’ test for pre-test and post-test were used by the researcher to collect the data. The hypothesis data was tested using formula of t-test. The result showed that there was a significant effect used peer, teacher and self-feedback on reduction language error in students writing essay at the tenth grade of senior high school, but teacher feedback is better strategy than peer and self-feedback. It means that the three feedback strategies in reducing language error are effective on improving students writing skill and the teacher feedback strategy is the most effective one among the other strategies

AbstractThis research was instigated by the low of students creative thinking ability at State Senior High School 1 Perhentian Raja. This research aimed at knowing the effect of implementing Guided Inquiry learning model with student workbook toward student creative thinking ability on Colloid lesson at State Senior High School 1 Perhentian Raja.  It was Quasi Experimental research.  Simple Random Sampling technique was used in this research.  The samples comprised two classes, the eleventh-grade students of Natural Science 1 that were 33 students as the Control group and the students of Natural Science 2 that were 32 studentsas the Experimental group. The techniques of collecting the data were tests in the form of homogeneity test as the preliminary data, pretest and posttest as the final data, observation, and documentation. The instrument of this research was creative thinking ability test in the form of essay with the indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The pretest and posttest data were analyzed by using t test at 5% significant level.  The research findings showed that there was a significant effect of implementing Guided Inquiry learning model with student workbook toward student creative thinking ability on Colloid lesson that t was 4.268 and the score of Sig. <em>The research aims to determine the environmental care attitude in Senior High School 1 Kayen. The research samples were the tenth-grade students, eleventh-grade students, and third-grade students of Social Science (IPS) class at Senior High School 1 Kayen. The research used Slovin formula to obtain 192 samples from the tenth grade, eleventh grade, and twelfth grade. The study used a random sampling technique. Questionnaires were used as the data collection techniques to measure knowledge about environmental care attitudes using calculation techniques of Likert scale and percentage formula. The result shows the students in Senior High have the moderate category on environmental care attitude, with a total frequency of 89 students consisting of tenth-grade students, eleventh-grade students, and twelfth-grade students in Social Science (IPS) class with a percentage score of 46,35%. In an attempt to increase students’ environmental care, we suggest several educational agents, such as Educational supervisors, Principals, and Teachers give the students examples of good actions to the environment in daily routine.</em>

The purposes of this research are to describe the implementation of the teacher in teaching speaking descriptive text using facebook for Senior High School Students, and to describe the achievement of the students in speaking using facebook. This study was descriptive qualitative research. The data were taken from the tenth grade students of senior high school in Sidoarjo. The data collecting technique used instruments of observation field note, interview and test. From the observation field note was described that the implementation of teaching learning process given were: First, the way of speaking descriptive text was explained to the students. Second, the examples of generic structure of descrptive text were displayed. Third, the way to describe picture profile from the Facebook was explained to the students. The last, the pleasant atmosphere was created while the students tried to operate Facebook for describing the profile of someone. Further, the results of test had shown that the  students’ scores were good; with the average scores > 75. They show that the technique of Teaching Speaking Descriptive Text Using Facebook For Senior High School students is good for teaching speaking.

The objective of the research is to investigate the use of transitivity process in students' descriptive text and to find out the most dominant process of transitivity used. The data analyzed were 46 clauses taken from descriptive text written by six students of tenth grade of senior high school. In this research, the writers used descriptive qualitative method. The result of the research showed that there were 4 types of processes that occurred in the data, they were: material process (8, 70%), mental process (17, 39%), relational process (45, 65%), and existential process (28, 26%). While, behavioral and verbal process were not found. The most dominant process found was relational process. It implies that students were aware how descriptive text should be written, since one of language features in descriptive text is using clauses with relational process.

This research in general is aimed to develop student worksheet base on contextual approach on the coordination system for senior high school in grade 11 using metode of 4-D development. The subjects of this research is one of lecturer majoring in biology at Padang State University, two teachers of SMAN 3 Padang, and 30 students in grade 12 of SMAN 3 Padang as potential users of the product. Data that used in this research is primary data. Instrument of data collection in this research is a questionnaire of validity and practicalicity filled out by expert and students. The result for validity is 91,2% that criteria is very valid. Result for practicalicity from teacher is 90,5% that criteria is very practical and from stucent is 81,3% that criteria is practical.st
