This correlation study aimed to investigate a correlation between English teacher competency and students’ learning achievement at State Junior High School 1 Tempuling, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau. There was 1 English teacher who has certified as a professional teacher. Seventy-five students taught by the English teacher became the sample through random sampling technique; meanwhile, the English Teacher Performance Assessment documentation and evidence of students’ learning achievement in their report card were used to collect the data. The data were analyzed using serial correlation. The finding shows that the correlation (rxy) score = 0.438 compared to rt. Because rxy was higher at 5% and 1% significance levels, it was possible to conclude a significant correlation between English teacher competency and students’ learning achievement.

This study aims to (1) analyze Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share on mathematics learning achievement, (2) analyze the level of students 'reasoning towards mathematics learning achievement, and (3) determine the interaction of Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share and the level of students' reasoning on mathematics learning achievement. This type of research uses quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. All grade VIII students of State Junior High School 1 Sambi were the population of this study. The sample in this study consisted of two classes, 31 experimental  and 32 control students, with a sampling technique using cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques using documentation, tests, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used the ANOVA technique. Two ways with different cells. The results of the study with a significance level of 5% are (1) there is a good effect using Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share on students 'mathematics learning achievement, (2) there is a good effect of reasoning on students' mathematics learning achievement, and (3) there is no interaction between Discovery Learning. Think Pair Share setting and students' reasoning. Therefore, it is concluded that mathematics learning achievement can be influenced by Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share and reasoning. Keywords: Discovery learning setting think pair share; mathematics learning outcomes; reasoning. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisis Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share terhadap prestasi belajar matematika, (2) menganalisis tingkat penalaran siswa terhadap prestasi belajar matematika, dan (3) mengetahui interaksi Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share dan tingkat penalaran siswa terhadap prestasi belajar matematika. Jenis penelitian menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment. Seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sambi menjadi populasi penelitian ini. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas dengan 31 siswa eksperimen dan 32 siswa kontrol, dan pengambilan teknik sampling menggunakan cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi, tes dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik ANAVA dua jalan dengan sel tak sama. Hasil penelitian dengan tingkat signifikansi 5% adalah (1) ada pengaruh baik menggunakan Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, (2) ada pengaruh baik penalaran terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, dan (3) tidak ada interaksi antara Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share dan penalaran siswa. Oleh karena itu, disimpulkan bahwa prestasi belajar matematika dapat dipengaruhi oleh Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share dan penalaran. Kata Kunci: Discovery learning setting think pair share; penalaran; prestasi belajar matematika.

This research aims at figuring out the effect of students’ achivement motivation and expectation towards students’ learning achivementa t PAI subject at VII class in junior high school level in 2014. There were three schools involved in the research:  SMP N 1 Salatiga, Salatiga SMP N 6, and SMP Muhammadiyah Salatiga. This is quantitative research with purposive sampling technique. The data collecting technique were questionnaires, test and documents. Questionnaires were to see the relation between students’ achievement motivation and expectation while test was used to gain data for learning achievement on PAI. The instruments for questionnaire were tested using validity and reliability test, normality test, autocorrelation test, F test, and coefficient determinant test. The data analysis used regression techniques. The findings of the research show that independent variables of achievement motivation (X1) and expectations (X2) influence the dependent variable of learning achievement (Y) by Y’ = 48.866 + 0.04 X1  + 0.258 X2 . This implies that 1 value of achievement motivation and 1 value of exectation will result on 49.164 learning achievement in PAI subject.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas masing-masing kategori model pembelajaran, motivasi belajar siswa dan interaksinya terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Madiun yang terdiri dari 4 kelas. Penentuan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes dan metode angket. Uji hipotesis penelitian ini menggunakan anava dua jalan sel tak sama dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) prestasi belajar matematika siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Artikulasi lebih baik dari model pembelajaran Talking Stick, (2) jika ditinjau dari masing-masing tingkatan motivasi belajar, siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi prestasi belajarnya jauh lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar sedang maupun rendah dan (3) model pembelajaran Artikulasi lebih efektif dari model pembelajaran Talking Stick untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa, untuk setiap tingkat motivasi belajar siswa.Abstract:  The aims of this research were to find out the effectivennes of each categories of learning model, motivation to study and their interaction towards student mathematics learning achievement. The population was all students of grade VIII Five Junior High School of Madiun City consisted of four class. Sampling was done by cluster random sampling technique. The hypothesis test used unbalanced two ways analysis of variance at the significance level of 0.05. The conclution of this research that (1) the model of Articulation learning gives a better mathematics achievement than model of Talking Stick learning, (2) students with the high motivation to study had better achievement than students with the medium and low motivation to study, and (3) the model of Articulation learning was more effective than the model of Talking Stick learning to enhance students mathematics learning achievement for each level of students motivation to study.

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of teaching using the inductive and deductive strategies on the improvement of learning achievement and motivation students. This study was a quasi-experimental study, involved all students of class IX of SMPN 2 Sentolo, Kulonprogo in the academic year of 2010/2011. Sample was established using the purposive sampling technique, two science classes each of 32 students were taught using the inductive and deductive strategy. The data were gathered  using a pretest and posttest. The students’ achievement was measured using a multiple choice test and their motivation were measured using a questionnaire and observation sheets. The results show that: (1) there is a difference of science instruction through deductive and inductive strategies on improving learning achievement, which is supported by Independent Samples Test in the t-test column for Equality of Means, score value of sig. (2 tailed) is 0,026; (2) there is no differences of deductive and inductive strategies on improving students’ motivation, which is supported by t-test column for Equality of Means, score value of sig. (2 tailed) is 0,153; (3) there is a significant correlation of motivation on learning science and science achievement, which is shown by the value of coefficient of correlation 0,736.

This study aims to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on the learning achievement of class VIII junior high school. This type of research is quantitative research. The population in this study is all students of class VIII SMP N 2  Kupang and the research sample is class VIII D students with the sampling technique is simple ramdom sampling. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and mathematics learning achievement tests. Data analysis was carried out in two ways, namely the SPSS program. From the results of the analysis, based on the tests of normality, linearity, significance, emotional intelligence has an influence on mathematics learning achievement and was obtained by equation of regression Y = 0,642X and t-count = 4.272 > 2, 052 = t table then, a push H0, it means that there is a significant effect of emotional intelligence on learning achievement. Based on the results of the study, the researcher concluded that there was a significant effect of emotional intelligence on mathematics learning achievement of class VIII students of SMPN 2 Kota Kupang.

PENGARUH KETERAMPILAN KERJASAMA TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR KONSEP GAYA PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPA SMPAbstractThis study aims to determine the effect of high teamwork skills and low teamwork skills on student learning achievement on the concept of force. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 2 Surakarta Academic Year 2018/2019. The sample used in this study were 61 students. This research was included in experimental research. Sampling is done using simple random sampling technique. Data retrieval is done by using multiple choice tests as many as 20 items to get learning achievement data on force concepts and observation sheets for data on teamwork skills. Analysis of the data used is non-parametric statistical test, namely the Mann-Whitney U test. With the statistical analysis performed, it is obtained that the sig. value 0,000. Because of the sig. value 0,000 <0.05, it can be concluded that Ho was rejected. This shows high and low teamwork skills affect the learning achievement of students on the concept of force. Students who have high teamwork skills who have higher learning achievement with a mean of 74.41 students who have low teamwork skills with a mean of 53.15.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keterampilan kerjasama tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar peserta didik pada konsep gaya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 2 Surakarta Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 61 peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengambilan  data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes objektif pilihan ganda sebanyak 20 butir soal untuk mendapatkan data prestasi belajar pada konsep gaya dan lembar observasi untuk mendapatkan data keterampilan kerjasama. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji statistik non-parametrik dengan menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U. Berdasarkan analisis statistik yang dilakukan, diperoleh bahwa nilai sig. 0,000. Karena nilai sig. < 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan Ho ditolak. Hal ini menunjukkan keterampilan kerjasama tinggi dan rendah berpengaruh terhadap prestasi belajar peserta didik pada konsep gaya. Hasilnya dapat dinyatakan bahwa peserta didikyang memiliki keterampilan kerjasama tinggi memiliki prestasi belajar yang lebih tinggi dengan rerata 74,41 daripada peserta didikyang memiliki keterampilan kerjasama rendah dengan rerata prestasi belajar 53,15.

The research aims to knowing relationship between learning discipline and learning achievement in VIII grade student junior high school. Independent variables in this study is learning discipline and dependent variables is learning achievement. This measuring instrument used in this study is the scale of learning discipline. Sampling technique in this study use random sampling technique. The sample in this study was 110 VIII grade student. For Y variable (learning achievement) data using semester 1 and 2 average values. Learning discipline questioner before being used for research try it first. Validity and reliability tes in this study using alpha cronbach technique. The result of the trials of the two instrument are only valid questioner which will be used in the research. The result of the coefficients on the learning discipline move from rix=0,348 to rix= 0,685 with a reliability coefficients of α = 0,867. Based on data analysis, obtained a correlation value of 0,226 with significant level of 0,018<0,05 whichmean hypothesis is accepted. The show that there is weak and unidirectional relationship between learning achievement in class VIII in junior high school 1 in solok city that is, if the higher learningdiscipline ,the higher learning achievement. As for the effective contribution of the learning discipline of learning achievement of 5%

The focus of this study is the  Haruai junior high school students’ characters quality and their learning achievements.  The students do not show much respect to teachers and others; they are not neat, and they like cheating during exams, etc. Also, they have not good enough in understanding ability. This study aims to describe the students’ characters quality and their learning achievements, and also to find how the characters quality correlate to learning achievements. This study is a survey research using a quantitative method. The research population comprises 316 students of the Haruai junior high school.  The research sample consists of 177 students selected with the multi stage sampling technique.  The data are collected using a Likert’s scale for the students’ characters quality, and a documentation of their learning achievements reports.  The data are analyzed using a correlational technique.The results of the study show that: (1) the Haruai junior high school students’ characters quality is weak.  (2) the Haruai junior high school students’ learning achievements is bad. (3) there is a significant correlation of the Haruai junior high school students’character quality and their learning achievement.  It is expected that the social studies teachers and other teachers in general build better learning process and implement character education.Key words: Character education, Character quality, and learning achievement

This study aims to determine the effect of learning media and teaching methods with Islamic Religious Education learning outcomes. The hypothesis that will be tested is the effect of learning media on the learning achievement of Islamic Religious Education, the effect of teaching methods on the learning achievement of Islamic Religious Education, and the positive influence of learning media and teaching methods on Islamic Religious Education learning achievement. This research was conducted by a survey method with correlational form, the population of this study were all students of the Integrated Islamic Junior High School (IT) Purbakti Ciampea Bogor, amounting to 435 students in the 2018/2019 academic year. Samples were taken by random sampling technique. The results of this study concluded as follows; First, there is a positive influence of learning media (X1) on learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education (Y. Second, there is a positive influence on teaching methods (X2) on student learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education (Y), Third, there is a positive influence of learning media (X1) and teaching methods (X2) on student learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education (Y) The results of this study can be useful to provide understanding and understanding for teachers to use the media in the learning process and use various teaching methods, so that the subject matter conveyed by the teacher can be scattered effectively and well by students, to improve learning outcomes, especially in Islamic Religious Education subjects

This research aimed to desribe the effects of parents’ attention and learning discipline on the English learning achievement and  the correlation between parents’ attention and learning discipline and the English learning achievement at grade 9th in Junior High School. This research was an expost facto research. The population was 2.716 students. A sample of 337 students was established using  the proportional stratified random sampling technique. The techniques of data collection were the questionnaries and the document of students’ English learning achievement in the even of year 8 in 2012/2013. The instrument valididty was assessed in terms of the content validity using Factor Analysis. The reliabilty of the instrument was assessed using Cronbach Alpha. The data were analyzed using the Multiple Regression and partial correlation analysis. Multiple Regression test results show that parents’ attention and learning discipline simultaneously affect the English learning achivement with the value of F = 43.311 and p ≤ 0.05. Adjusted R² value = 0.197 means that the variant of the English learning achivement variable could be predicted by parents’ attention and learning discipline 19.7%. Meanwhile, according to the partial correlation analysis, parents’ attention correlates with English learning achievement (r = 0.385 and p ≤ 0.05).  Learning discipline correlates with the English learning achievement (r = 0.182 and p ≤ 0.05).
