Industrial Technology Graduates’ Acquired Skills and Competencies from the University

Skills and competencies are highly regarded in todays global market. Different agencies specifically those seeking for  technologists, technicians, and engineers, have stressed out that skills and competencies as major components  for individual workers.  This aimed to determine  the relevance and appropriateness of acquired skills and competencies by industrial technology graduates, and determine the extent of use of skills and competencies in the current employment. Review of related literatures and studies have been considered in the realization, understanding, analysis, and interpretation of this research exploration. A descriptive method of research was used with 78 graduates from 2015-2016 and 117 graduates from 2016-2017, who participated in the study survey process. The BatStateU Standardized Questionnaire was used to gather data. A brief interview and talk during the visit of alumni in the university was also considered, as well as the other means of social media like email, facebook, messenger, and text messaging.   Results show that skills and competecnices acquired by industrial technology graduates are all relevant and appropriate.  The study also found that there is some to great extent use of acquired skills and competencies to their current employment. The study implies that the acquired skills and competencies from the university significantly provided the graduates the opportunities ins the national and global markets and industries.

Keberagaman etnik dalam komunitas mahasiswa memunculkan suatu nuansa dan fenomena yang khas dan berbeda dalam penggunaan bahasa. Masyarakat multietnik cenderung menggunakan bahasa yang berbeda-beda ketika berkomunikasi dengan etnik satu dan etnik lainnya. Keberagaman etnik dan bahasa tersebut memungkinkan seseorang menjadi mampu menggunakan lebih dari satu bahasa. Komunikasi saat ini dapat dilakukan melalui berbagai media, salah satunya adalah media sosial. Banyak sekali media sosial yang dapat digunakan untuk berkomunikasi, seperti facebook, twitter, bbm (blackberry messenger), line, dan whatsapp. Penelitian dengan ancangan sosiolinguistik dan metode kualitatif deskriptif ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bahasa yang digunakan dalam komunitas mahasiswa multietnik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahasa yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa multietnik di Kota Semarang dalam media sosial adalah bahasa Indonesia, bahasa daerah, dan bahasa asing. Kemultietnikan mahasiswa dengan bahasa yang berbeda mengakibatkan penggunaan campur kode. Faktor penyebab penggunaan bahasa tertentu antarmahasiswa multietnik adalah stimulus atau inisiasi yang disampaikan oleh penutur pertama. Selain itu, faktor latar atau situasi bahasa tertentu digunakan, faktor penutur dan petutur yang melakukan percakapan, maksud dan tujuan yang diinginkan oleh penutur dan petutur, bentuk pesan dan isi pesan yang dipilih oleh penutur dan petutur turut memengaruhi bahasa yang digunakan. ABSTRACT The ethnical variety in the university student community has brought a unique phenomena and different nuance in their language use. The students in the multiethnic community tend to use various languages to communicate to each other. Those various ethnics and languages would encourage the member of the community to use more than one language. In the other hand, people could communicate nowadays through all sorts of media. One of them is social media. Some of the social medias such as facebook, tweeter, bbm (blackberry messenger), line, and whatsapp could be used as mean of communication. This research uses approach in sociolinguistics and qualitative-descriptive method. The aim of this research is describing the language use in students’ multiethnic community. The result shows that the language used in multiethnic students in Semarang in social media is Indonesian, local, and foreign languages. The students in different language multiethnic community used the code-mixing. The factor that causes a certain language use in multiethnic students is the stimulus or the initiation uttered by the fi rst speaker. The other factor such as setting or situation where a certain language used, speaker, and hearer that are involved in the conversation, form and contain of the message chosen by the speaker and the hearer, have also infl uence the language used.

Hoax and digitalization have become a threat to global democracy. During this pandemic, WhatsApp in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) has been successfully taken down 1, 759 hoaxes spreading on social media. Thus hoax content is circulating from January 23 to October 18, 2020. This study examines the literacy capability of social media users in Medan City in facing misinformation (Hoax). The purpose of this study is to describe the knowledge of social media users in Medan City regarding hoaxes; describing the process of spreading hoaxes among social media users in Medan City, as well as to identify the types of hoaxes mostly received and spread by social media users. The quantitative descriptive method is used in this study The samples of this study amount to 250 respondents selected in the accidental method. The results obtained from the aforementioned respondents show that respondents agreed that hoax is ‘a deliberate fake news. They stated that they had not been forwarding ‘splashy news’ that they received and do fact-check. On the other hand, when asked about why the ‘splashy news’ was forwarded, the respondents reasoned that they received the news from someone they trusted. In addition, the respondents each stated that they thought the news was useful as they believed the news to be true. The types of hoaxes most frequently received include lucky draws, socio-politics, governance, and health.

Language is a tool to communicate or disclose a case both orally and in writing. In the era of globalization, social media is growing very rapidly, one of the popular social media, especially in Indonesia is Instagram. People competing to present a unique and interesting content. The use of written language also varied one of them to express themselves about the state and activity of the account owner can attract the attention of warganet in the other sense of language as a tool of self-expression. A large number of users to make content contained instagram diverse, the language used is also varied there is constructive some are destructive language itself. Expressive use of language in social media instagram has been observed in this study. Questions that will be answered in this study is how often use expressive language that writing does not correspond Indonesian rule in badmintalk_com account. Research was conducted on some of the content uploaded by Badmintalk accountt. The first stage in this research is to collect data, and then analyzed using qualitative descriptive method. In the final stage, the conclusions are based on analysis of the data that is on the uploads that have been using the phrase expressive writing is not appropriate Indonesian rule and has almost the same error on any uploaded content.

The objective is to highlight the main problem areas of the green economy in the global market, based on international proposals from the international organizations for the green economy, research on raw materials and empirical data. Research methods applied: scientific literature analysis, systematization, comparative analysis, generalization. The results of the survey allowed to highlight the main areas of the green economy. It presents the concept and development of the green economy, and identifies key areas for the green economy that need to be addressed. Each of the detailed areas is divided into separate components. According to the unique areas of the green economy, the evolution of each area has been analyzed in order to test how the other depends on changes in global markets.

Selfie activity has now become a trend for people who like to upload photos to social media,especially Instagram, so it can be seen by the other users. Most of them do not upload their selfies tosocial media Instagram for no reasons, but they want to know about how many people are going togive attention or like and comment on their selfie. Hope to get some reward as likes and commentsfrom the other users make them always try so hard to make an interesting photo.Because of the phenomenon, the writer interested in conducting a research on the motive of usingphotos selfie as a form of existence in social media Instagram. This study use qualitative researchmethods, and use Motive Maslow Theory and also the uses and gratifications theory. For collect theresearch data, the writer do some interview and observations to the students of the University 17Agustus 1945 Surabaya as informants in this research. The results of this reasearch indicate that thereare some motive for the uses of photos selfie to show self-existence on Instagram, which is hoping toreceive social responses that can affect their existence, following what’s the trending so they not lookout of date, and that their existence is recognized by people around.Keywords: Motive, Selfie, Existence, Social Media

Abstract. With the development of the internet that is increasingly fast and easy to access, a person or especially students, it is easier to see content that is inappropriate for viewing, such as adult advertisements, Western and local movie streaming sites that are not censored by related institutions, and also pornographic content on social media or on certain websites. On the other hand, at around the age of early adulthood or at the level of students, is the age of exploration of things that smelled of sex and consider it a matter of course, so that more and more pre-marital sexual behavior appears or pre-marital sex. There are differences in the results of research that researchers have explored, namely 6 studies that said that the two things had a relationship and 1 study said it had a weak relationship. After researchers interviewed 20 University X students, 14 of them had committed cybersex behavior with pre-marital sex. Because of differences in research and phenomena at the University X, researchers are interested in examining the relationship between cybersex behavior and pre-marital sex in University X students who are in Bandung. Respondents in this study were 122 students. The theory used in this study is the cybersex theory from Canners, Delmonico, and Griffin (2001) and the pre-marital sex theory from Duvall and Miller (2005). The correlation results show a correlation coefficient of 0.469 with a significance level of 0.000 which indicates that there is a close positive relationship between cybersex and pre-marital sex. Abstrak. Dengan berkembangnya internet yang semakin pesat dan mudah untuk di akses, seseorang atau khususnya mahasiswa, menjadi lebih mudah melihat konten yang kurang pantas untuk dilihat, seperti iklan-iklan dewasa, situs-situs streaming film Barat maupun lokal yang tidak disensor oleh lembaga terkait, dan juga konten pornografi di media sosial atau pada website tertentu. Di sisi lain, pada usia sekitar dewasa awal atau pada tingkatan mahasiswa, adalah usia eksplorasi pada hal-hal yang berbau seksual dan menganggap hal tersebut adalah hal yang biasa, sehingga semakin banyak muncul perilaku seksual pranikah atau pre-marital sex. Terdapat perbedaan hasl penelitian yang telah peneliti telusuri, yaitu 6 penelitian yang mengatakan bahwa kedua hal tersebut memiliki hubungan dan 1 penelitian mengatakan memiliki hubungan yang lemah. Setelah peneliti mewawancarai 20 orang mahasiswa Universitas X, 14 diantaranya pernah melakukan perilaku cybersex dengan pre-marital sex. Karena adanya perbedaan penelitian dan fenomena pada Universitas X tersebut, peneliti tertarik untuk meneliti hubungan antara perilaku cybersex dengan pre-marital sex pada mahasiswa Universitas X yang berada di Kota Bandung. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah 122 orang mahasiswa. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori cybersex dari Canners, Delmonico, dan Griffin (2001) serta teori pre-marital sex dari Duvall dan Miller (2005). Hasil korelasi menunjukkan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0.469 dengan taraf signifikasi 0.000 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang erat antara cybersex dengan pre-marital sex.

Social media is one of the information media that is currently widely used by several companies and personally to convey information, with the presence of social media companies no longer need to spread offers through print media, they can use information technology tools in this case social media to submit offers the products they sell to users globally through social media. This social media marketing technique is the process of reaching visits by internet users to certain sites or public attention through social media sites. Marketing activities using social media are usually centered on the efforts of a company to create content that attracts attention, thus encouraging readers to share the content through their social media networks. The application of the QMS method is certainly not only submitted through search engine webmasters, but also on a website keywords must be applied that relate to the contents of the website content, because with the keyword it will automatically attract visitors to the university website based on keyword phrases that they type in the search engine. With Search Media Marketing Technique (SMM) is one of the techniques that must be applied in conducting sales promotions, especially in car dealers in Bandung, it is considered important because each product requires price, feature and convenience socialization through social media so that sales traffic can increase. Each dealer should be able to apply the techniques of Social Media Marketing (SMM) well so that car sales can reach the expected target and provide profits for sales as car sellers in the field.

The covid-19 resulted in broad range of spread throughout the world in which India has also became a prey of it and in this situation the means of media is extensively inϑluencing the mentality of the people. Media always played a role of loop between society and sources of information. In this epidemic also media is playing a vital role in shaping the reaction in ϑirst place for both good and ill by providing important facts regarding symptoms of Corona virus, preventive measures against the virus and also how to deal with any suspect of disease to overcome covid-19. On the other hand, there are endless people who spread endless rumours overs social media and are adversely affecting life of people but we always count on media because they provide us with valuable answers to our questions, facts and everything in need. Media always remains on top of the line when it comes to stop the out spread of rumours which are surely dangerous kind of information for society. So on our side we should react fairly and maturely to handle the situation to keep it in the favour of humanity and help government not only to ϑight this pandemic but also the info emic.

Kapoya village is located in SouthMinahasa precisely in the District Suluun-Tareran. Problems of this research,what is the folk songs in Tontemboan areas that exist in Kapoya village andwhat is the function, what cultural meanings contained in the Tontemboan folksongs, and why villagers of Kapoya still sing the Tontemboan folk songs basedon their reflected the mindset. The purpose of this study is to identify the Tontemboanfolk songs and explain its function, explains the cultural meaning of theTontemboan folk songs, and explain the reason for the villagers of Kapoya stillsing the Tontemboan folk songs based on their reflected the mindset.This study used descriptive method withqualitative approach. The observation point chosen five informants. The firstone as the main informant and the other as a companion. In this study,collected twenty-seven folk songs in Tontemboan.In terms of meaningful culturalTontemboan folk songs in the Kapoya village and their functions, which consistsof 27 traditional songs and their functions. In terms of cultural meaningscontained in Tontemboan folk songs have some deep meaning, such as the peopleof Kapoya village who believe in the power of God as the Creator, the publicbelieves that happen compassion into the new year is a joy to remember therelatives and siblings. In terms of folk songs sung reason thatis the mindset of the villagers of Kapoya, namely as guidelines, instructions,and the correct way for a person to live a life based onwhat he believes and meaningful bring compassion, happy, respectful, and proudof the life lived in the Kapoya village.Keywords: Culture, Tontemboan, Kapoya

Education like others spheres of life of modern society is in the state of dynamic changes. New formats of universities as well as their missions and roles in the social and economic development are actively discussed by professional environment. A number of external and internal factors that determine the depth and scale of transformation have effects on the development of the system of higher education. The system of higher education is under the influence of the system and institutional dynamics, which dictate the need for changes. The activity of universities as centers of education, science and culture is one of the most important bases of social progress. This role becomes especially important in XXI century, which is based on new knowledge and principles of technological development. First of all a university takes new features in the current conditions of globalization. The fundamental task that needs to be solved in order to achieve the goals of a modern University is the change of meanings, goals and content of education by active participation in the internationalization processes of the system of higher education and by introducing reforms in educational process. Of course new economic conditions (global market and information technologies) require modifications. It was stated that the commercialization of University innovations in Azerbaijan is a relatively new direction, since the country is just adopts the path of an innovative economy. In this regard the transformation of a scientific idea to a product or a service faces a number of difficulties. It was investigated the problem of commercialization of the results of scientific activities of higher educational institutions in Azerbaijan. For the first time Azerbaijan State University of Economics has implemented its rebranding in the educational system of the country in order to strengthen the market position of the educational institution and realization of innovative marketing strategies. The University’s strategic goals were defined under the UNEC brand, and the brand development was successfully continued with the support of the scientific and expert community. An integrative educational environment is created in Azerbaijan State University of Economics and such environment ensures the unity of the “education – science – innovation – commercialization – production system”. It is important to note that UNEC strategy also provides for clustering of economical education and so that it provides for increasing the integration pace of the University into the world scientific and educational space. The article presents the innovative infrastructure of Azerbaijan State University of Economics connected with its integration into the global scientific and educational environment. The paper studies the matters of the international cooperation issues of the University with universities of such countries as USA, EU, Russia, Turkey, which expands the academic potential of the University and increases its competitiveness. The article substantiates the conclusion that the globalization of higher education increases the importance of commercialization of higher education institutions in the field of education and science. The article reveals the successful experience of UNEC University in the creation and implementation of joint educational programs, expanding academic mobility, attracting foreign applicants, conducting joint researches and international scientific events in partnership with universities in the EU, Russia and Turkey.
