Pathogenic bacteria is disease causing microorganisms that can attack fish and can cause mass death in cultured fish. The purpose of this study was to identify the types of pathogenic bacteria Cyprinus carpio that were reared in floating cages. This study used a survey method that is purposive sampling and the fish sample were obtained from, PLTA Koto Panjang. the fishes were identified in the Fish Parasite and Disease Laboratory, Fish and Marine Faculty, University of Riau. Fish samples used were 15-20 cm goldfish totaling 12 tails with 3 times taken from 4 different cages. The kidneys organ were examined and to find out the type the bacteria. Result shown identified of pathogenic bacteria consist of 3 types of bacteria namely Aeromonas sp., Pseudomonas sp., and Edwardsiella sp. Water quality during the study was Temperature: 27-300C, pH 6-7, DO 3.67-4.28 ppm, and ammonia 0.048-0.64 mg/L.

Koto Masjid Village is the largest production center in striped catfish fish farming activities in Riau Province. One of the inhibiting factors is the disease caused by bacteria, this study aims to determine the types of pathogenic bacteria that have the potential to infect striped catfish. This research was conducted in August - November 2019, samples of striped catfish used in the study amounted to 15 tails with an average length of 15-25 cm taken from 5 ponds in Kampung II, Koto Masjid Village, XIII Koto Kampar Subdistrict, and then identified bacteria by Conventional Laboratory in Fish Parasites and Diseases, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Riau University, Pekanbaru. This study uses a survey method that is by taking samples from the field in Pu and then the isolation of bacteria is carried out from the kidney organ in the TSB media then purified on the TSA media. The results of the study found 3 types of pathogenic bacteria namely Aeromonas sp., Edwardsiella sp., and Pseudomonas sp. Water quality during the study was pH 6.6-70, DO 4.05-4.35 mg/L, NH3 0.035-0.2 mg/L and Temperature 28-300C.

ABSTRAK Waduk Jatibarang terletak di Kelurahan Kandri, Kecamatan Gunung Pati, Kota Semarang resmi dioperasikan pada tahun 2014. Pemanfaatan Waduk Jatibarang sebagai penyedia air baku, tempat pariwisata dan kegiatan perikanan. Pemanfaatan waduk dapat menurunkan kualitas air. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui status pencemaran perairan Waduk Jatibarang berdasarkan berbagai kegiatan peruntukan (kegiatan pariwisata, perikanan dan penyediaan air baku). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari - Pebruari 2019. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei. Pengambilan contoh air menggunakan metode purposive sampling, dilakukan 2 (dua) kali pengambilan dengan rentang waktu 1 bulan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengukur variabel kualitas air yang terdapat pada PP Nomor 82 Tahun 2001 tentang Pengelolaan Kualitas Air dan Pengendalian Pencemaran Air, antara lain Temperatur, TSS, pH, DO, BOD, COD, Amonia dan Total Coliform. Selanjutnya di analisis dengan metode Indeks Pencemaran sesuai KepMen LH Nomor 115 Tahun 2003 tentang Pedoman Penentuan Status Mutu Air. Perairan Waduk Jatibarang memiliki temperatur berkisar antara 30 - 31◦C, TSS 20 - 80 mg/l, pH netral, DO 6,8 - 8,6 mg/l, BOD 1,46 - 3,95 mg/l, COD 9,7 - 15,69 mg/l, Amonia 0,110 - 0,566 mg/l dan Total Coliform 15 – 4.600 sel/100 ml. Status pencemaran pada dermaga Waduk Jatibarang (kegiatan pariwisata) tercemar ringan – sedang (IP = 3,62 - 5,49). Inlet Waduk Jatibarang (Kegiatan Perikanan) tercemar ringan – sedang (IP = 2,88 – 5,93). Outlet Waduk Jatibarang (penyediaan air baku) tercemar ringan (IP = 1,43 – 1,84). ABSTRACT Jatibarang Reservoir is located in the Village Kandri, District Gunung Pati, Semarang officially operated in 2014. Utilization of Jatibarang Reservoir as a provider of raw water, tourism sites and fisheries activities. Utilization of reservoirs can reduce water quality. The purpose of research to determine the water pollution status of Jatibarang Reservoir in based on the various activities allocation (tourism, fisheries and raw water supply). Research was conducted on January - February 2019. The method used is a survey method. Water sampling using purposive sampling with two replicate and sampling interval 1 month. The research was conducted by measuring the water quality variables by activities allocation according with Government Regulation Number 82 of 2001 about Management of Water Quality and Water Pollution Control, among others temperature, TSS, pH, DO, BOD, COD, ammonia and Total Coliform. Furthermore, analized with Pollution Index according to the decree of the minister of environment of the republic of indonesia number 115 year 2003 regarding Guidelines for Determination of Water Quality Status. Jatibarang Reservoir waters have temperature ranging between 30 - 31◦C, TSS 20 - 80 mg/l, pH neutral, DO 6,8 – 8,6 mg/l, BOD 1,46 – 3,95 mg/l, COD 9,7 - 15,69 mg/l, Ammonia 0,110 – 0,566 mg/l and Total Coliform 15 – 4.600 cells/100 ml. Pollution status of the dock Jatibarang Reservoir (tourism activity) lightly - moderatly polluted (IP = 3,62 – 5,49). This study aims to determine the composition and structure of the macrozoobenthos community in Batang Air Dingin and water quality based on BMWP ASPT. This study used a survey method in determining the station by purposive sampling, based on typhical environmental condition along the river. Macrozoobenthos samples was collected by using surber net 30x30 cm2. The result showed the community in the form of Gastropods 6 genera, Insecta 26 genera, Oligochaeta 1 genus, and Hirudinea 1 genus. Total density of macrozoobenthos in the Batang Air Dingin river was 1182,22ind/m2 ranging from 180,00 ind/m2 to 402,22 ind/m2 with the highest density was found in the first station and the lowest at station four. The predominant type found at each station is different, station I is Elophyla, Neopherla, Hydropsyche; station II Eukifferiella, Polypedilum, Elophyla, Hydropsyche; station III Clithon, Eukifferiella, Polypedilum, Orthocladius; station IV Clithonand Thiara. The diversity of macrozoobenthos in Batang Air Dingin river range between 1,95-2,51 is classified as moderate with even distribution (E=0,84) range between 0,81-0,89. Batang Air Dingin water quality using BMWP ASPT from upstream to downstream range between 6,12 – 3,5. Classified unpolluted to heavily polluted.

Abstract. The objective of the present study was to analyze the morphometric variationsof five predominant fish species caught in Lake Aneuk Laot, Sabang City,Weh Island.The study was conducted in December 2015 to January 2016. The survey method was used in this study. The fish target were Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), tilapia (O. mossambicus), snakeskin gourami (Trichopodus pectoralis), giant gourami (Osphronemus goramy) and snakehead (Channa striata). The fish samples were catched using gillnets. The fish sample were analyzed for traditional and truss network morphometrics. The results showed that there is closed morphological relationship between Nile tilapia and tilapia, and between snakeskin gourami and giant gourami, while the snakehead fish was discriminated apart from the two previous groups.Keywords: Morphometric Nile tilapia, tilapia, snakeskin gourami, giant gourami, snakehead fish, Weh Island Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis variasi morfologi ikan hasil tangkapan dominan di Danau Aneuk Laot Kota Sabang dengan menggunakan teknik traditional dan truss morphometric. Penelitian dilakukan pada Desember 2015 sampai Januari 2016. Ikan sampel terdiri dari ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus), ikan mujair (O. mossambicus), ikan sepat siam (Trichopodus pectoralis), ikan gurami (Osphronemus gorami) dan ikan gabus (Channa striata). Ikan sampel diperoleh dengan menggunakan alat tangkap jaring. Sebanyak 12 karakter traditional morphometric and 14 karakter truss dianalisis dalam penelitian ini.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat tiga kelompok ikan, kelompok pertama ikan nila dan ikan mujair, kedua ikan ini kemiripan yang tinggi; kelompok kedua adalah ikan sepat siam dan ikan gurami, kelompok ketiga adalah ikan gabus yang memiliki kemiripan yang jauh dengan kedua kelompok ikan sebelumnya.Kata kunci: Morfometrik, Nila, mujair, sepat siam, gurami, gabus, Pulau Weh

Ikan motan (Thynnichthys polylepis) merupakan jenis ikan yang mempunyai nilai ekonomi yang cukup penting di Kabupaten Kampar. Ikanmotan diWaduk Kotopanjang termasuk jenis ikan yang dominan dan digemarimasyarakat. Penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan data dan informasi mengenai kebiasaan makan dan biologi reproduksi dilakukan pada bulan Agustus sampai Nopember 2009. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui metode survei dengan pengambilan contoh dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Untuk mengetahui kebiasaan makan digunakan metode Indeks Preponderan, kematangan gonad diamati secara morfologi dan penentuan fekunditas dihitung dengan metodegravimetrik. Hasil penelitian inimenunjukan bahwa ikan motan tergolong jenis ikan herbivora dengan pakan utama makrofita 49,9%, pakan pelengkapnya adalah phytoplankton 22,6% dan detritus 17,4%, dan pakan tambahan terdiri atas protozoa 0,8%, rotifera 0,5%, dan crustaceae 0,4%. Selain itu makanan yang tak teridentifikasi 8,4%. Ikan motan memijah secara bertahap (parsial) dimulai pada bulan Nopember. Fekunditas ikan motan berjumlah antara 25.360-61.198 butir dengan diameter telur pada kisaran antara 0,31-0,90mm, serta indeks kematangan gonad antara 6,65-17,56%. Motan (Thynnichthys polylepis) is one of fish species having the economically important value in Kampar Regency. In Kotopanjang Reservoir motan is a kind of fish which is dominant and it is liked by the people. The objectives of the research were to get data and information of food habit and the biology reproduction such as gonadal maturity, fecundity, and egg diameter has been carried out on August to November 2009. The research is done with the survey method, meanwhile the samples taken by purposive sampling. Food habit can used an index of preponderance method, the gonadal maturity is used by the morphology, meanwhile fecundity is counted by gravimetric. The result of the research shows that motan is belong to a herbivore fish with a mean food macrophyta of 49.9% as a mean food, phytoplankton of 22.6% and detritus of 17.4% as complement food. Meanwhile the addition food such as protozoa of 0.8%, rotiferas of 0.5%and crustaceae of 0.4%. Beside that, the unidentify part is 8.4%. Motan spawning by partial which is started on November. Fecundity of motan shows that the total egg varied between 25,360-61,198 with egg diameter is between 0.31-0.90 mm. Meanwhile index maturity of gonads is between 6.15-17.56 %. Based on the aspects some water quality.

ABSTRAK Sungai Buntu yang terletak di Kabupaten Kendal, Jawa Tengah merupakan daerah padat penduduk dan digunakan sebagai tempat pembuangan sisa tambak. Adanya aktivitas penduduk dan sisa tambak di sekitar sungai berpotensi membuat perairan menjadi tercemar. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengkaji status mutu air menggunakan analisis STORET dan mengetahui beban pencemaran dari kawasan pertambakan yang masuk ke perairan sungai Buntu, Kabupaten Kendal ditinjau dari Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), nitrat, nitrit dan amonia. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2018 dan Januari 2019. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian adalah metode survey dan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling pada 4 stasiun dalam 2 minggu. Analisis status mutu air menggunakan metode STORET dan analisis beban pencemaran dengan persamaan BP= Q×Ci. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa status mutu air di perairan sungai Buntu sebelum tambak dan pada kawasan tambak yaitu cemar sedang, serta bagian muara cemar ringan. Beban pencemaran BOD sebesar 551,67 ton/bulan, nitrat sebesar 20,89 ton/bulan, nitrit 2,66 ton/bulan dan amonia sebesar 2,46 ton/bulan. Ditinjau dari konsentrasi nitrat, sungai Buntu tergolong perairan oligotrofik. ABSTRACT Buntu river is located in Kendal city, Central Java. It is a dense population area and become a place that contain aquaculture effluent. Human activities and aquaculture effluent along the river cause water pollution. Aims of this study are to assess water quality status using STORET analysis and knows pollution load from aquaculture areas which flow to Buntu river, Kendal city based on concentration of Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), nitrate, nitrite and ammonia. The study was conducted in December 2018 to January 2019 and used survey method. The technical method of sampling was using a purposive sampling on 4 stations in 2 weeks. Water quality status analysis used STORET method and pollution load analysis used BP= Q×Ci. The final result shows that water quality status in Buntu river is different in each station. The status before aquaculture area and at aquaculture area is medium polluted, and at estuary is low polluted. Pollution load of BOD is 551,67 tons/month, nitrate is 20,89 tons/month, nitrite is 2,66 tons/month and ammonia is 2,46 tons/month.

ABSTRAK Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat merupakan saluran utama drainase kota. Pembuangan limbah deterjen yang langsung ke saluran drainase tanpa adanya pengolahan terlebih dahulu, mengakibatkan peningkatan beban pencemaran dan penurunan kualitas air di Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat. Pencemaran deterjen dapat mengakibatkan eutrofikasi di perairan sungai, karena senyawa fosfat yang terdapat di dalam deterjen memacu pertumbuhan fitoplankton dan mengakibatkan blooming fitoplankton. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Februari – Maret 2016 di Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui beban pencemaran limbah deterjen, mengetahui Indeks Kualitas Air (IKA), mengetahui konsentrasi deterjen dan kelimpahan fitoplankton, serta menganalisis hubungan konsentrasi deterjen dengan fitoplankton. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey dengan teknik purposive sampling. Lokasi sampling dibagi menjadi 3 stasiun dan 3 titik bagian (tepi, tengah, tepi) sungai. Pengambilan sampel air menggunakan metode integrated sample atau sampel gabungan tempat, sedangkan pengambilan sampel fitoplankton dilakukan secara pasif dengan metode penyaringan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi deterjen di lokasi penelitian berada dalam kisaran 0,05-0,62 mg/l. Kelimpahan fitoplankton tertinggi pada semua stasiun adalah Trichodesmium sp., dimana Trichodesmium sp. merupakan indikator adanya pencemaran organik. Berdasarkan analisis regresi, kelimpahan fitoplankton dipengaruhi oleh konsentrasi deterjen sebesar 31,4% dan sisanya 68,6% dipengaruhi faktor lain. Beban pencemaran deterjen di Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat berkisar antara 13,18-215,67 ton/tahun. Indeks Kualitas Air Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat yaitu berkisar antara 1-5 yang tergolong dalam perairan sangat bersih-tercemar berat dan tidak baik digunakan untuk kegiatan perikanan.            Kata Kunci       : Deterjen; Kelimpahan Fitoplankton; Beban Pencemaran; Indeks Kualitas Air; Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat  ABSTRACT Banjir Kanal Barat River is the main drainage channel of the city. Waste disposal detergent into drainage without any waste treatment liquid first, caused in increase load pollution detergent and decrease of water quality in Banjir Kanal Barat River. Detergent pollution can cause eutrophication in the river, because phosphate compounds contained in detergent can stimulate phytoplankton growth and phytoplankton blooming. The study was conducted in February 2016 - March 2016 at Banjir Kanal Barat River which aimed to analyzing the load pollution and Water Quality Index (WQI), determine the concentration of detergent and abundance of phytoplankton, analyzing relation between detergent concentration with abundance of phytoplankton. This research used survey method and purposive sampling. The location of sampling been divided into 3 station and 3 points (edge, middle, edge). Water sampling using integrated sample method, while phytoplankton sampling are carried passively by filtration method. The results showed detergent concentrations were in the range of 0,05-0,62 mg/l. Abundance phytoplankton on the highest all stations are Trichodesmium sp., where Trichodesmium sp. an indicator of organic pollution. Based on corelation analysis, the abundance of phytoplankton is affected by the detergent concentration of 31,4% and 68,6% influenced by other factors. Load pollution of detergent in Banjir Kanal Barat River were in the range 13,18-215,67 ton/tahun. Permasalahan sediaan air di kawasan pesisir sangat kompleks sesuai dengan ragam peruntukan seperti halnya di Desa Pesantren dan Desa Mojo. Penelusuran tentang kualitas air untuk ragam peruntukan sangat penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengkaji kelayakan sumber daya air untuk beberapa peruntukan dan menganalisis variabel penurun kualitas air di kawasan pesisir. Penelitian didasarkan kepada metode survei dan dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2017 di Desa Pesantren dan Desa Mojo, Ulujami, Pemalang. Pengambilan sampel mengacu pada metode purposive sampling di 3 lokasi sungai, 2 lokasi sumur, 1 lokasi sawah, serta 2 lokasi tambak. Variabel yang diukur adalah bau, warna, rasa, suhu, TDS, kekeruhan air, debit sungai, kesadahan, pH, amonia, nitrit, nitrat, Cd, dan Pb. Mutu air dievaluasi berdasarkan Indeks Pencemaran (IP) sesuai KEPMEN LH No.115 Tahun 2003 dan PP No.82 Tahun 2001. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tambak, sawah, dan sungai dinyatakan tidak memenuhi  kelayakan air, dengan status tambak 1 yang terletak cukup jauh dari laut telah tercemar berat (IP= 21,17), tambak 2 yang terletak dekat dengan laut memiliki status tercemar sedang (IP= 8,18), sawah yang terletak cukup jauh dari laut dinyatakan tercemar ringan (IP= 3,88), sungai 1 yang letaknya kearah kawasan hulu tergolong tercemar ringan (IP= 3,14), sungai 2  yang terletak di tengah dan dekat dengan cabang Sungai Comal telah tercemar sedang (IP= 5,12), sungai 3 yang letaknya dekat dengan laut yaitu tercemar ringan (IP= 4,99), sedangkan mutu air sumur 1 dan 2 yang terletak di kawasan pemukiman cukup jauh dari laut dinyatakan layak karena masih memenuhi baku mutu (IP= 0,91 dan 0,85). Warna, kekeruhan air, amonia, TDS, logam Pb dan Cd merupakan variabel penurun kualitas air di tambak, sawah, sungai dan sumur. Warna, kekeruhan air, amonia, dan TDS kemungkinan besar berasal dari sisa pakan ikan di tambak dan pupuk di sawah yang tidak terserap oleh padi, sedangkan logam Pb dan Cd dalam penelitian ini kemungkinan berasal dari limbah domestik di kawasan hulu yang terbawa oleh Sungai Comal. Water supply problems in the coastal areas are very complex in accordance with the variety of designation as well as in the Pesantren and Mojo Villages. The study of water quality for various purposes is very important in improving the social and economic quality of the community. The aim of this study is to assess the feasibility of water resources for several designations and to analyze the variables that cause water degradation in coastal areas. This study was based on survey method and was conducted in May 2017 at Pesantren and Mojo Villages, Ulujami, Pemalang. Sampling refers to purposive sampling method in 3 rivers location, 2 wells location, 1 rice field location, and 2 ponds location. The measured variables are odour, colour, taste, temperature, TDS, turbidity, river discharge, hardness, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, Cd, and Pb. Water quality was evaluated based on Pollution Index (PI) according to KEPMEN LH No.115 of 2003 and PP No.82 of 2001. The results showed that ponds, rice fields, and rivers were not found to meet water quality standard, with the status of pond 1 being heavily polluted (PI = 21,17), medium polluted ponds (PI = 8,18), lightly polluted rice fields (PI = 3,88), river 1 was lightly polluted (PI = 3,14), medium polluted river 2 (PI = 5.12), lightly polluted river 3 (PI = 4,99), while water quality for wells 1 and 2 was eligible because it still meets the quality standard (PI = 0,91 and 0,85). Ammonia, TDS, color, turbidity, Pb and Cd are water quality-lowering variables in ponds, fields, rivers and wells. Ammonia, TDS, color and water turbidity are most likely derived from the remain of fish feed in ponds and fertilizers in paddy fields that are not absorbed by rice; whereas Pb and Cd in this study might originate from domestic waste in the upstream areas carried by the Comal river.

AbstractThis study aimed to determine the quality of drinking water supplied in different types of food stalls in Jashore Municipality, Bangladesh. A total of 35 water samples were collected from different tea stalls, street side fast food stalls, normal restaurants and well-furnished restaurants. The water quality was evaluated by determining the distinct physical, chemical and biological parameters. The results revealed that the water used in the food stalls and restaurants for drinking purpose was in desired quality in terms of turbidity, electrical conductivity, pH, total dissolved solids, nitrate (NO3−), sulfate (SO42−), phosphate (PO43−), chloride (Cl−), sodium (Na) and potassium (K) concentrations. The values were within the permissible limit proposed by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics and the World Health Organization. Concentrations of calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) found in several samples were higher than the World Health Organization standard. Iron (Fe) concentrations were higher than the permissible limit of the World Health Organization. Only 46% exceeded the permissible limit of Bangladesh Bureau Statistics. The threatening result was that the samples were contaminated by fecal coliform, indicating that the people of Jashore Municipality may have a greater chance of being affected by pathogenic bacteria. The drinking water provided in the street side fast food stalls was biologically contaminated. The findings demonstrate that the drinking water used in food stalls and restaurants of Jashore Municipality did not meet up the potable drinking water quality standards and therefore was detrimental to public health.

Semi-intensive common carp (Cyprinus carpio) farm technology uses several feed types affecting the growth performance; however, we know less about their long-term effects on water quality. Herein, we evaluated the effects of three commonly used feeds—moderate levels of fish meal and fish oil feed (FF), plant meal and plant oil feed (PF), and cereal feed (CF) on the nutrient (total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP) and organic matter (OM)) content of the pond water. The experiment was carried out over three consecutive years from juveniles to market-sized fish. The type of feed affected the net yields, but generally, it did not affect the water quality. The year of sampling, however, was a significant factor affecting TN, TP, and OM, whose concentrations decreased during the three years. Our findings highlight that the age of the stocked fish on water quality has a more pronounced effect than the nutrient profile of the supplementary feed. Additionally, the plant-based feed could provide comparable net yields as the fish meal-based feed without additional nutrient loading in the water column, reinforcing the sustainability of alternative feeds in semi-intensive carp farming.
