The abstract reveals effects of female stereotypes functioning. Studying the gender stereotype’s psychological and social functions, we have noted the following positive effects of female stereotypes functioning in the Armed Forces of Ukraine: 1) destruction of gender typology, overcoming polarization between femininity and masculinity as polar opposite genders; 2) changing the vector of gender priorities from the predominance of belonging to certain gender to the predominance of belonging to the corporate military culture; that makes it crucial to perceive and evaluate a woman, first of all, as a representative of military professional activity; 3) creation of psychological prerequisites for the prevalence of a positive emotional state in the military collective and formation of communication principles characterized by empathy.

At the beginning of this study of military dictatorship and the political role of the intellectuals in Latin America, Florestan Fernandes (1970: 1) makes the following statement: “The idea that Latin America is a region in which the coups d'état are a political routine has become a commonplace.” Without doubt, such an opinion is justified and also explains—at least to a certain extent—the wealth of “routine” verdicts on the function of the military in Latin America. A contradiction, however, seems evident at this point: while the number of publications on the political and social position of the armed forces is rapidly increasing (McAlister, 1966; Rouquié, 1969), there is an evident lack of comprehensive analyses that go beyond detailed description, and which explain in a reliable and sound manner the phenomenon of the cyclically increasing militarization of politics. It cannot be overlooked that research on the role of the military in Latin America is in a really critical situation which calls for a reexamination of the facts according to new criteria.

Abstract. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have strong traditions of musical bands that date back to princely and Cossack times. The task of their orchestras is to boost the morale of servicemen, to strengthen the power of the Ukrainian army by means of musical arts, as well as to perform at festive events (both at the local and the state level). However, despite the importance and diversity of creative and educational activities of the Military Orchestra Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, no comprehensive study of historical aspects of the functioning of music and military bands in national musicology has been conducted. The purpose of the article is to analyze the historical process of the formation of traditions of professional training of members of military musical bands at the turn of the XIX–XX centuries in the Ukrainian lands, as well as ceremonial and social functions of their concert activity. Research methodology. The overview is based on historical, structural and systemic methods. Results. Traditions of military orchestral training in Ukraine have deep historical roots and are based on multicultural principles. Traditions of performance and training in military musical bands of the Armed Forces of the independent Ukraine were formed on the basis of the three lines of continuation: princely and Cossack musicartistic formations and bands of the time of liberation movements (LUSR — Legion of Ukrainian Sich Riflemen, UIA — Ukrainian Insurgent Army), which represent their direct national line; Russian military orchestras with the participation of Ukrainian specialists; and multinational Austrian and Polish military music bands in Ukrainian territories. All of them together formed the basis on which the Ukrainian military and musical tradition was based, absorbing all the most relevant and productive aspects of the experience gained. Novelty. The activity of centers in which members were trained for existing military orchestral groups in the Ukrainian lands, as well as ways in which such training was performed, and the development of professional training of musicians were considered. Practical significance lies in the consideration of prospects for further detailed study of the functioning of separate bands, their repertoire, instruments, ceremonial and social functions, achievements of particular individuals in the field of performance, pedagogy and conducting. Conclusions. In the activity of military orchestras in the Ukrainian lands at the turn of the XIX–XX centuries we can see a combination of militaryceremonial and social palaceconcert functions, wide involvement of all segments of the society in concert touring, which completely dictates the rich repertoire. From LUSR schools and guilds, professional training of musicians was gradually transformed into the activities of specialized training units at the military formations, cadet schools and trumpet schools, institutions at music societies and professional music training in conservatories.

The article is devoted to the problem of professional development and career development of officers of the armed forces, other troops and military formations. The relevance of this problem is due to the rapidly changing conditions of the military-pedagogical environment. At present traditional forms and methods of professional training cannot fully meet the demand of military personnel for the formation of self-development, self-actualization and self-realization skills. In this regard the author raises the question of the need to find new approaches and views on the process of improving professional training, the result of which should be the readiness of officers to build, design and develop a military career. The author suggests using coaching, the methodology of which is focused on the disclosure of professional and personal potential and the awakening of the activity of officers as promising forms and methods of military professional training. The concepts of «profession-oriented army coaching» and «army coach» are clarified. It is emphasized that the technology of coaching is new for the military sphere and requires substantial and technical adaptation to the army reality. In this work the author presents the concept of profession-oriented army coaching, taking into account the ideas of the acmeological approach, the military specifics and the architecture of the coaching process. The goals, objectives, principles, directions and conditions for the implementation of coaching in the army environment are defined. The author comes to the conclusion that in the army environment, the coaching and acmeological approaches have similar views, combining the search for ways to maximize self-expression in the military profession and the optimal ways to organize professional activity to achieve success in the future. The concept of profession-oriented army coaching proposed by the author reflects the requirements for finding new approaches to the process of improving the professional training of military personnel, imposed by the modern training and combat process of the armed forces. The practical implementation of this concept became development and introduction of «Profession-oriented army coaching» teaching guide to the learning process of military universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Annotation. An important component of psychophysiological support of professional activity of flight crew is the diagnosis of their psychoemotional status. That is why the aim of the work was to identify the features of the psycho-emotional state of military and civilian pilots by comparative analysis of the results of assessing their personal qualities. For this purpose, psychological methods of research of semantic basic attitudes, responsibility and honesty are used. The survey covered 200 civilian and 100 military pilots. Statistical analysis of the results was performed using methods of descriptive statistics, implemented using the statistical package MS Exel. It is established that in terms of verbal and emotional dependence, dependence on achievements, demanding and responsible for themselves, all pilots have an adequate level of development. However, in terms of demanding others, only military pilots have adequate personality development. According to the characteristics of responsibility, its level is expressed inherent in civilian pilots, while the military have a situational manifestation. Assessing the processes of planning, organizing and performing professional duties (integrity) revealed that military pilots have a low self-esteem of their abilities, they are quite lazy, insecure. They are driven by spontaneity in making important decisions. Civilian pilots have a much higher level of self-esteem, confidence, concentration and ability to solve life’s problems. They are more careful and prudent when making responsible decisions. They clearly show a sense of moral and professional duty. Thus, it can be concluded that the identified features of the distribution of military and civilian pilots according to the level of development of personal qualities are primarily related to certain features of the nature of work and due to the peculiarities of military service. This situation requires the introduction of psychological methods for assessing the psycho-emotional state of flight crew during the implementation of psychophysiological support.

In the scientific article the training of future officers for professional activity in military lyceums is considered as not only theoretical but also practical component, because without the theoretical component in combination with practice it is impossible to orient properly in the educational process of higher military educational institutions and military training units of higher educational institutions during the training of tactical level officers and the assessment of training final results. The training of future officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for professional activity in military lyceum is considered and scientifically substantiated both as a purpose and as a result of professional training. Since the main purpose of any higher military educational institution is to prepare the graduates for professional activity, the main guideline and basis for solving the problems of training of future officers for professional activity should undoubtedly be the essence of this activity, which reflects the set of its deep connections, relations and internal laws. The detailed analysis of the scientific works provided grounds to substantiate the author's determination of training of future officers of the Armed Forces for professional activity in military lyceum, which provides the formation of a holistic personal education as a result of special professional and psychological-pedagogical professional training, which ensures the transition to a qualitatively new form of activity for the cadet as a future officer of the Armed Forces and it is a set of interdependent and interconnected components: motivational-value, cognitive and reflexive. The criterias of readiness for professional activity of an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as an important and defining feature that characterizes various qualitative aspects, essences and specifics of professional activity of a serviceman are evaluated. The professional activity of an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a military lyceum is characterized by a high degree of social responsibility, conservatism of values and clear regulation of the conditions for its implementation. In the professional environment of the military lyceum, the role of socially conditioned characteristics and conditions of activity of both faculty that includes officers of the Armed Forces, and pupils (lyceum students) is significantly increasing. It follows that mastering the profession of an officer of the Armed Forces is not only the ability to effectively perform duties, but also the adoption of the appropriate lifestyle, way of thinking, system of norms and values by a future officer.
