ABSTRAKBalita pneumonia mengalami batuk, napas cepat, dan ronkhi. Madu memiliki efek antimikroba dan antibodi yang dapat menghambat pertumbuhan agen mikroba penyebab pneumonia. Tujuan penelitian: mengetahui pengaruh pemberian madu terhadap frekuensi batuk, frekuensi napas, dan ronkhi balita pneumonia. Metode: Desain penelitian quasi-experimental: pre-test-post-test, non-equivalent control group. Jumlah sampel 34 balita berdasarkan rumus besar sampel kategorik berpasangan. Kelompok intervensi sejumlah 17 orang, diberikan madu murni 2,5 cc 30 menit sebelum anak tidur malam (± pukul 18.00) selama 3 hari. Kelompok kontrol sejumlah 17 orang diberikan air putih 2,5 cc 30 menit sebelum anak tidur malam (± pukul 18.00) selama 3 hari. Pengukuran hasil penelitian dilakukan pada hari pertama sebelum perlakuan dan hari keempat setelah perlakuan. Instrumen yang digunakan ialah timer, stetoskop, lembar observasi, dan kuesioner. Analisis data bivariat berpasangan menggunakan marginal homogenity, pair t test, dan Mc Nemar. Analisis data bivariat tidak berpasangan menggunakan Kolmogorov Smirnov, Fisher exact, dan independent t test. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menemukan adanya pengaruh yang bermakna pada pemberian madu terhadap frekuensi batuk (p=0,001), frekuensi napas (p=0,0001), dan ronkhi (p=0,012) antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok intervensi. Kesimpulan: Rekomendasi penelitian ialah perlu menerapkan pemberian madu pada balita pneumonia untuk menurunkan batuk, frekuensi napas, dan ronkhi.Kata Kunci: balita pneumonia, frekuensi batuk, frekuensi napas, madu, ronkhi.EFFECT OF HONEY ON FREQUENCY OF COUGH, RESPIRATION AND RHONCHI IN UNDER-FIVE CHILDREN WITH PNEUMONIAABSTRACTUnder-five children with pneumonia experience cough, rapid breathing, and rhonchi. Honey has antimicrobial and antibody effects which can inhibit the growth of pneumonia-causing microbial agents. Objective: To identify the effect of honey on frequency of cough, respiration, and rhonchi in under-five children with pneumonia. Methods: This study employed quasi- experimental research with pretest-posttest, non-equivalent control group. The number of samples of 34 under-five children based on the formula of categorical paired samples. The intervention group numbering 17 people was given 2.5 cc ofpure honey 30 minutes before the child slept at night (± 06:00pm) for 3 days. The control group numbering 17people was given 2.5 cc ofwater 30 minutes before the child slept at night (± 06:00pm) for 3 days. The study results were measured on the first day before treatment and the fourth day after treatment. The instruments used were timer, stethoscope, observation sheet, and questionnaire. Paired bivariate data were analyzed using marginal homogeneity, pair t test, and Mc Nemar. Unpaired bivariate data were analyzed of using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Fisher’s exact, and independent t-test. Results: The study results found a significant effect of giving honey on frequency of cough (p=0.001), frequency of respiration (p=0.0001), and rhonchi (p=0.012) between the control group and the intervention group. Conclusion: This study recommends to give honey to under-five children with pneumonia to decrease cough, frequency of respiration, and rhonchi.Keywords: under-five children with pneumonia, frequency of cough, frequency of respiration, honey, rhonchi.

AbstrakGizi buruk balita masih menjadi permasalahan serius di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian menjelaskan pengaruh pemberian dietformula 75 dan 100 terhadap berat badan balita gizi buruk rawat jalan. Desain penelitian quasi experimental pre-post test withcontrol group dengan teknik total sampling, terdiri dari 15 responden kelompok intervensi dan 15 responden kelompokkontrol. Analisis yang digunakan adalah uji chi squere, paired t-test, independent t-test, uji ancova. Uji statistik menunjukkanperbedaan bermakna berat badan balita gizi buruk rawat jalan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan pada kelompok intervensi dankontrol (p= 0,00; α= 0,05). Peningkatan berat badan kelompok intervensi lebih besar daripada kelompok kontrol. Puskesmasdiharapkan menindaklanjuti hasil penelitian sehingga mencapai target berat badan balita gizi buruk rawat jalan sesuai standar.Kata kunci: gizi buruk, rawat jalan, diet formula 75 dan 100AbstractMalnutrition in children is still a serious problem in Indonesia. This study aimed to describe the influence of diet formulas 75and 100 to the body weight of under five years old malnutrition outpatient. Research design was quasi experimental pre-posttest with control group. Total sampling technique was used to involve 15 respondents as intervention group and 15 respondentsas control group. Data was analyzed using chi square, paired t-test, independent t-test, and ancova test. Thet results show thatthere were significant differences in the body weight before and after treatment in the intervention group and control group(p= 0.00; α= 0.05). The improvement of body weight on intervention group is greater than the control group. Effect of short message service toward knowledge and breastfeeding intention in Purbalingga district, Central JavaPurposeThis study aimed to determine the effect of short message service on improving mother's knowledge and intention in breastfeeding.MethodsThis study used a quasi-experimental design with non equivalent control group and pretest and posttest conducted with 36 breastfeeding mothers who received a breastfeeding brochure with short message service in the intervention group and 32 breastfeeding mothers who received only the brochure in the control group. The breastfeeding mothers all had an infant less than 2 months old and had a handphone. Data were processed by stata 12.0 using paired t-test, unpaired t-test and linear regression tests.ResultsThe pretest-posttest scores showed increase of knowledge about breastfeeding after delivering information of breastfeeding through short message service (p<0.05). It showed no effect of increasing breastfeeding intention after delivering information of breastfeeding through short message service (p> 0.05).ConclusionShort message service was effective to improve knowledge of breastfeeding mothers, however it had no effect in improving breastfeeding intentions.

Abstract Objective: The objective of this study was to compare the effectiveness of health education as an intervention to promote BSE among intervention and non-intervention group presenting in a low resource setting at North Karachi Methodology: This Quasi-experimental study was conducted from January-August 2018 in a charitable hospital in Karachi after taking ethical approval by the Institutional Review Board of Jinnah Sindh Medical University and relevant approvals from the hospital authorities. This study recruited 172 eligible women by dividing them into intervention (n=86) and control (n=86) groups from a low resource setting in Karachi. Demographic variables were collected through pretested questionnaire by interview. Intervention group then received health education regarding carcinoma of breast, importance of BSE and monthly motivation to perform BSE through cell phone. The questionnaire was again filled after 6 months of intervention. Control group was also given health education sessions upon completion of study. Results: Results revealed that both groups were similar initially. After 6 months females in intervention group showed significant (p=<0.001) improvement in knowledge and performance of BSE from 44.2% to 88.4% but there was no change in control group. Being in intervention group (RR=2.714, 95% CI= 1.760 - 4.186, p=0.001) and education (RR=0.573, 95% CI= 0.361 - 0.910, p=0.018) showed positive association with BSE performance. Upon adjusting with age, marital status, family history and education, intervention group (RR=2.570, 95% CI= 1.654 - 3.992, p= 0.001) remained significant while education (RR=1.466, 95% CI =0.910 - 2.363, p=0.116) became insignificant. This study aims to determine the effect of Value Clarification Technique (VCT) modeling method on the studnts’ learning outcome in civic education. This study is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. The research was conducted in elementary school Number 13 Cingkariang Banuhampu Sub-district of Agam District with class VA as the experimental class and Class VB as the control class. Both classes have twenty five students. The data analysis technique employed was the normality test and homogeneity test, which was then followed by a t-test to see the effect of VCT. The results show that the average pretest score is 38,768 for the experimental class and 41,488 for the control class. The average posstest score is 90,68 for the experimental class and 86,32 for the control class. The result of the t-test shows that the tcount is 1,73 and the ttable on the significance level of 0,05 is 1,6772, which means that tcount&gt;ttable. Therefore, it is concluded that the Value Clarification Technique modeling method affects the students’ learning outcome in civic education in Elementary School Number 13 Cingkariang

Laparotomy is one of the major surgeries. Laparotomy is an operative technique that can be performed on digestive and urinary sistem disorders that will cause pain. This study aims to determine thes effects of kinesio taping on the level of pains in post laparotomy patients. The methods of this study use a pre-post and control group quasi experimental design research. Consisting of the intervention group and the control group, the number of sample was 24 samples with 12 respondent in the kinesio taping installation intervention group and 12 respondent in the control group giving standar drug, using a simple random sampling technique. Dependent t-test obtained an average difference of 2.08 in the control group while ansaveragesdifferencesof 3.84 insthe intervention group. Independent T test results obtained P value (0.001)<(0.05). The conclusion there was assignificant difference in the level of pain in the kinesio taping intervention group and the control group that did not have kinesio taping. Variable confounding has been performed statistically. The results shows that here is no relationships between age, attitude and belief in the pain of Laparotomy, while age is related to post-Laparotomy pain, kinesio taping can be used as an independent nursing intervention to reduce the intensity of pain in post-Laparotomy patients.

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of ANNISA development on nurses' knowledge of nursing documentation. This method uses quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design and a time series approach non-equivocal control group design. The study results were there were differences in the measurement of nurses' knowledge about nursing documentation in the intervention group before the intervention by measuring posttest-1 with p-value = 0.000. There were differences in nurses' experience about nursing documentation between the intervention group and the control group in the posttest-1 and posttest-2 measurements after the intervention using ANNISA with p-value = 0,000. There was an increase in differences in nurses' knowledge about nursing documentation from the pretest, posttest-1, and posttest-2 measurements after using ANNISA in the intervention group and the control group with p-value = 0.000. Abstract Background: The aim of the present study was to assess readiness to become or stay physically active according to the Stages of Change Model.Methods: The present quasi-experimental study was conducted on 100 women working in the healthcare centres of Bandar Abbas, Iran. The sampling method is clustering in type. The subjects were assigned into two groups of intervention and control. The collected data were analysed by SPSS-16 software using descriptive and inferential statistics, including independent-sample t-test, paired-sample t-test and Chi-square test.Results: Before the educational intervention, 19 subjects (0.38%) from the intervention group showed to have regular physical activity (4-5 stages). This number changed to 29 (0.58%) and 25 (0.50%) after three months and six months of intervention. A statistically significant difference was found before the intervention and 3 and 6 months afterwards (P˂.001). In the control group, no statistically significant difference was found between the pre-intervention and post-intervention (three months (P=.351) and six months (P=.687).Conclusion: The educational intervention based on the stages of behaviour change model showed to be effective in promoting the physical activity of employed women. These findings may benefit health education researchers and practitioners who tend to develop innovative theory-based interventions and strategies to increase the level of physical activity in women.

Adolescent period is a critical period that requires quality health services. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of health education through booklet media on the knowledge and attitude towards reproductive health among adolescents. This was a quasi-experimental case control study with nonequivalent two group design conducted on 282 students of SMP Negeri 37, a public junior high school, in the work area of Ibrahim Adjie Public Health Center in Bandung city during December 2018–May 2019. Subjects were divided into two groups, intervention and control groups, with 141 subjects in each group. Data collected were tested for normality and homogeneity using Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Levene tests, respectively, followed by a bivariate analysis using Wilcoxon test to determine the difference. Knowledge of all students in both groups was poor during pre-test with an increase found in 135 subjects (95.7%) in the intervention group (p=0.001) and 63 subjects (44.7%) in the control group (p=0.003) based on the post-test results. Negative attitude was also seen in both groups during pre-test, with a shift towards positive attitude was evident in 134 students (95.0%) in the intervention group (p=0.001) and 117 students (83.0%) in the control group (p=0.002) based on post-test results. This presence that health information conveyed through booklet has a probability of giving 0.995 times stronger influence leaflet. Thus, the use of booklet can improve knowledge and attitude towards adolescent reproductive health. PENGARUH BOOKLET MEDIA PROMOSI KESEHATAN REPRODUKSI REMAJA TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP REMAJA YANG BERTEMPAT TINGGAL DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS IBRAHIM ADJIE TAHUN 2018Masa remaja merupakan masa kritis yang membutuhkan pelayanan kesehatan yang berkualitas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan melalui media booklet terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap remaja tentang kesehatan reproduksi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi-experimental case control dengan rancangan nonequivalent two group yang dilaksanakan terhadap 282 siswa/i SMP Negeri 37 di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Ibrahim Adjie Kota Bandung selama Desember 2018–Mei 2019. Subjek dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok intervensi dan kontrol dengan 141 subjek di setiap kelompok. Data yang terkumpul diuji normalitas dan homogenitasnya masing-masing menggunakan Uji Kolmogorov-Smirnov dan Levene, dilanjutkan dengan analisis bivariat menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon untuk mengetahui perbedaannya. Pengetahuan semua siswa pada kedua kelompok kurang saat pre-test dengan peningkatan pengetahuan 135 subjek (95,7%) pada kelompok intervensi (p=0,001) dan 63 subjek (44,7%) pada kelompok kontrol (p=0,003) berdasar atas hasil post-test. Sikap negatif juga terlihat pada kedua kelompok selama pre-test dengan pergeseran ke arah sikap positif 134 siswa (95,0%) pada kelompok intervensi (p=0,001) dan 117 siswa (83,0%) pada kelompok kontrol (p=0,002) berdasar atas hasil post-test. Informasi kesehatan yang disampaikan melalui media booklet ini berpeluang memberikan pengaruh 0,995 kali lebih kuat daripada media leaflet. Dengan demikian, penggunaan booklet dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap remaja terhadap kesehatan reproduksi. Simpulan, terdapat pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan melalui media booklet terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap remaja tentang kesehatan reproduksi.

This study aimed to find out whether or not there was any significant difference in speaking ability of the students who were taught by implementing CML (Cultural Model for Literacy) through legends and those who were not. The sample was 41 undergraduate students enrolled in English course at FKIP of Sriwijaya University which were taken by purposive sampling method from 85 total of population. This study used one of the quasi-experimental designs that were pretest posttest non equivalent control group or comparison group design. The students were divided into two groups the experimental and control groups. The experimental group was required to do some phases in treatment of 16 meetings including pre-test and posttest in accordance with introducing new model of teaching speaking that was CML through legends. The data were obtained through speaking test by measuring their oral interpretations to know the students speaking ability. The test was administered twice as pre-test and post-test in both groups. The results indicated that there were any significant differences at level 0.05 level found in the data which were analyzed by using paired sample t-test (t=12.156>t-table=2.080) and independent sample t-test (t=3.252, p<0.05). The results also showed that CML through legends could enhance students speaking ability of the second semester English students of Sriwijaya University.

Background: Adolescence showed maturation of the reproductive organs one of menstruation. When menstruation dysmenorrhea usually accompanied to disrupt the activities of youth and reduce quality of life of individuals. In Indonesia the incidence of dysmenorrhea amounted to 64.25%. Teens knowledge about dysmenorrhea showed 78.3% of young women are included in the category level of knowledge is lacking. Hence the need for health education about dysmenorrhea, the importance of knowledge about adolescent dysmenorrhea can change attitudes in dealing with dysmenorrhea appropriately and well, so as to achieve healthy behaviors (health behavior). Objective: To determine the effect of health education on the  attitudes of young women in dealing with dysmenorrhea. Method: The research design uses methods quasy Experiment pretest and posttest design with non-equivalent control group. The samples used were 36 respondents. Analysis of the data used is univariable and Paried bivariable analysis using t-test and Independent t-test with a significance level of p <0.05. Result: There are differences in the attitude between pretest and posttest in the intervention group with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). There are differences in the attitude pretest and posttest control group with a p-value  of p-value 0.028 (<0.05). There are differences in the attitude posttest between the intervention group and the control group with a p-value 0.003 (<0.05). Conclusion: There is effect on dysmenorrhea health education on attitudes of young women in dealing with dysmenorrhea in SMP N 1 Pleret. Keyword : Dysmenorhea, Attitude.
