The paper analyzes the current state of practical training of firefighters using the existing material and technical base of the garrisons of the Rescue Service of Civil Defense of Ukraine. The existing method of conducting classes in most cases is the same, and the material base does not meet modern requirements and does not allow to reproduce the real conditions of the fire in the process of training personnel. Training of personnel of the fire and rescue service should take place in conditions as close as possible to the real fire, primarily in gassed and smoky rooms. The problem of training firefighters is the use of obsolete training complexes, primarily such as heat and smoke chambers. Existing methods and means of training personnel to work in a smoky and gassy environment, which is modeled on training complexes, do not reproduce the conditions of the fire, and outdated training scenarios allow you to get used to them, which calls into question the effectiveness of such training. technical imperfection is one of the main reasons for improper training of firefighters. Today, the requirements for domestic training complexes are insufficient and do not meet the conditions close to a real fire. As a training complex, in this paper it is proposed to consider a multifunctional container-type simulator, located on the basis of the training ground of Lviv State University of Life Safety. The training of firefighters in a multifunctional container-type simulator takes place in a variety of conditions and situations that allow personnel to be as close as possible to real extreme conditions; have elements of extreme complexity; learn to make decisions independently; create a variety of options for physical and emotional stress. A method of conducting practical classes in a multifunctional container-type simulator for training firefighters has been developed, which in combination with theoretical training will allow to increase the level of their professional training in conditions close to real fires. This technique can be used to train not only professional firefighters, but also members of the newly formed voluntary fire brigades of the united territorial communities.

Social work as a sphere of professional activity had formed in Europe by the middle of the XX century, but the experience accumulated in different countries did not result in uniform standard for the social welfare work and professional training. In Russia, social and welfare training is a relatively new training programme (since 1991), which needs to be substantially detailed by theoretical experience and practical recommendations from colleagues from around the world. In these conditions, academic mobility provides an opportunity to enrich the modern system of qualified social and welfare personnel training and expand our understanding of the structure of foreign professional education, as well as technologies, approaches and forms of student training. The authors show that various aspects of student social and welfare professional training are in the focus of domestic and foreign academic interest; two main sources of this problem are identified. The article dwells on the practical experience the students and teachers of Nizhnevartovsk State University and Aabenraa University College South Denmark accumulated through academic exchange. Regulations and statistical data analysis, observations, interviews, discussions and seminars helped to provide the necessary insight into the system of social and welfare training in Denmark. Research material may be of interest to students of Social Work programmes when studying such subjects as ‘Foreign Experience of Social Work’, ‘Social Education Fundamentals’; to teachers when developing bachelor training curriculum; to specialists of institutions when organizing student practical training.

The social institutions of punishment and release have been studied. The essence of the release as the process of completing the influence on the convicted person with the purpose of his return to social and normative life in society has been revealed. The spectrum of problems of preparing convicts for the release has been outlined. The authors have specified the weaknesses of the current state program for preparing convicts for the release. In order to reveal the peculiarities of the indicators of socio-psychological readiness of convicts for the release (cognition, emotion, reflection) and to identify the specifics of their tendencies towards further self-directed obedient behavior after being released, the authors have presented generalized results of the empirical study carried out with the help of the authors’ questionnaire “Socio-psychological readiness of convicts for the release”. The research was implemented on the basis of state institutions of the penal system, namely, in the correctional colonies of the Central-West Interregional Department for the execution of criminal penalties and probation of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. 118 male respondents aged 20 to 55 years sentenced under the Articles 121, 122, 115, 185, 186, 187, 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, who had less than 6 months left before the release, participated in the study. The authors have emphasized on the expediency of developing a program for preparing convicts for the release, taking into account indicators of socio-psychological readiness, and on the objective need for professional training of personnel of penitentiary agencies and institutions that will carry out socio-psychological support of convicts who have less than 6 months left until their release.

The paper considers the current state of the mineral raw material base and the construction material market of the Rostov Region. The effect of various factors on the strain-stress behavior of local limestones has been investigated. The scientific and technical literary sources devoted to the processes of rock failure under various loads have been analyzed. The experimental studies have shown that the tested samples of limestone with a high content of cuboidal grains have characteristics comparable to those of the crushed granite stone. It has been concluded that the use of the Rostov Region limestones in the construction industry is competitive and feasible, provided the proper implementation of the engineering measures proposed in their production.

David McNally styles this book as beginning in a polemic and ending in a “materialist approach to language” much indebted to the German critic Walter Benjamin. The charge is that “postmodernist theory, whether it calls itself poststructuralism, deconstruction or post-Marxism, is constituted by a radical attempt to banish the real human body—the sensate, biocultural, laboring body—from the sphere of language and social life” (p. 1). By treating language as an abstraction, McNally argues, postmodernism constitutes a form of idealism. More than that, it succumbs to and perpetuates the fetishism of commodities disclosed by Marx insofar as it treats the products of human laboring bodies as entities independently of them. Clearly irritated by the claims to radicalism made by those he labels postmodern, McNally thinks he has found their Achilles' heel: “The extra-discursive body, the body that exceeds language and discourse, is the ‘other’ of the new idealism, the entity it seeks to efface in order to bestow absolute sovereignty on language. To acknowledge the centrality of the sensate body to language and society is thus to threaten the whole edifice of postmodernist theory” (p. 2).

Professional training assumes the formation of the young generation of spiritual values and ideals, behavioral stereotypes and concrete actions. The purpose of the research was to analyze the directions of using volunteer activity in the formation of professional and social competencies of students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. The realities of the training of specialists allowed us to single out professional and social competencies as a separate species. The graduate should have an understanding and perception of ethical norms of behavior, understand the need to observe the norms of a healthy lifestyle, be creative, sociable, tolerant. In his professional work should provide for the prospects of working with the formation of a system of goals, to design the content of educational and upbringing activities with self–monitoring and self–evaluation of the work performed. It is determined that the pedagogical functions of volunteer activity are the orientation of the individual in social relations; The creation of an educational space; Ensuring the possibility of acquiring the experience of social and communicative interaction. The experience of using volunteer activity testifies to the need to ensure the unity of theoretical knowledge and practical activity, which is represented by the «model of formation» using different forms of organization in the following areas: educational, sports and social component within the framework of the students' practical training of the faculty of physical education and sport. To assess the effectiveness of experimental work on the impact of volunteer work on the formation of professional and social competence, we used quantitative and qualitative assessments, which express the changes in the characteristics of individual students. In terms of readiness of the future teacher to education of students was recorded positive trend: students with low level of readiness was 36,4 % less; middle and high readiness – more by 26,4 and 11,1 % respectively, confirming the effectiveness of educational practice using components of volunteering and its impact on the formation of professional and social competencies.
