Kata kunci: Status gizi, pendapatan, kejadian TB AbstractThe relationship between income, nutritional status on the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. It is estimated that around 2.7 million people die from pulmonary tuberculosis every year throughout the world. is a health problem where Indonesia contributes enough to the world level. It is proven that currently it is ranked fourth with the world's highest tuberculosis burden, namely after China, India and South Africa. Nutritional status is one of the most important factors in the body's defense against tuberculus infections. In poor nutrition, the immune reaction will weaken so that the ability to defend against infection decreases. Other factors that affect a person's nutritional status are socioeconomic status. Per capita income of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis is one of the factors related to nutritional status in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between income, nutritional status on the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. This research is a quantitative study that uses analytical survey methods with a case control approach. The results showed a significant relationship between nutritional status with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis with an OR = 3.484 (CI = 1.246-9,747) which means less nutritional status at risk of suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis by 3.4 times compared to adequate nutritional status. There is a significant relationship between income with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis with OR = 4.421 (CI = 1.638 - 11,930) which means that respondents with low income are at risk of suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis by 4.4 times compared to respondents with high income. Keywords: Nutritional status, income, incidence of TB

Abstract: Disease Pneumonia is an acute respiratory infection that attacks lung tissue, characterized by a cough accompanied by rapid breath or shortness of breath. Riskesdas in 2013 shows the incidence of pneumonia in Indonesia is 1.8% with a prevalence of 4.5%. If translated by number then at least from 23 infants who died every hour and 4 of them because of pneumonia and in 2015 there are 554,650 cases of reported pneumonia. This study aims to determine the relationship of nutritional status with the incidence of pneumonia in infants in hospitals dr. M Yunus Bengkulu Year 2017. The research method used is a quantitative survey with case control approach retrospectively. The number of samples for the case was 28 toddlers and for the control sample of 56 infants. The results of this study found that the variables of nutritional status and age there is a significant relationship with the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers with the value p = 0.00 OR = 9.2273 and p = 0.001 OR = 1.077. And there is no sex relationship with the incidence of pneumonia with p = 1.00. So the conclusion of this study is there is a significant relationship between nutritional status and age with the incidence of pneumonia in infants in hospitals dr. M Yunus Bengkulu where the variable age as an outside variable. The suggestion of this research is can be used as literature to increase the insight and information and health education, can increase the knowledge of health personnel to be more competent in handling the case of pneumonia, and hopefully the result of this research can be used as input or comparison material for subsequent researchers and Other researchers may develop research by linking other factors.

INTRODUCTION: Maintaining good nutrition is vital for healthy ageing. Poor nutrition increases the risk of hospitalisation, disability and mortality. Research shows clinical malnutrition is preceded by a state of nutritional risk and screening can identify older people at risk of poor nutrition or who currently have impaired nutritional status. AIM: To assess the population prevalence of nutritional risk amongst community-living Maori and non-Maori older people in Hawke’s Bay. METHODS: A postal survey of 1268 people aged 65 years or older on the electoral roll for Hawke’s Bay was conducted. Nutritional risk was measured using the SCREEN II questionnaire. RESULTS: Responses from 473 people were received (43.8% male, 49.9% female, 6.3% unspecified) with an estimated average age of 74 years. Nutritional risk was present amongst 56.5% of older people with 23.7% at risk and 32.8% at high risk. Maori were 5.2 times more likely to be at nutritional risk than non-Maori. Older people living alone were 3.5 times more likely to be at nutritional risk than those living with others. The most frequent risk factors were low milk-product intake, perception of own weight being more or less than it should be, and low meat and alternatives intake. Skipping meals and low fruit and vegetable intake were additional frequent risk factors for Maori. DISCUSSION: Both living situation and ethnicity are associated with nutritional risk. Further investigation is needed to confirm these findings and to determine issues specific for older Maori, including barriers to good nutrition and opportunities for nutritional improvement. KEYWORDS: Maori; nutritional status; older people

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore the association between children who are at risk of being or who have been excluded from school between the ages of 4 and 12 years and the role of psychopathology, development and attainment. Design/methodology/approach – A case-control approach was conducted. Cases were children who had been excluded from school compared to those who had no reported exclusions and normative data where possible. A range of measures were used to collect information from the parent, child and teacher on areas covering the child’s mental health and well-being. Findings – The findings showed the number of difficulties faced by children who are at risk of being or who have been excluded from school compared to gender- and age-matched controls and normative data increased. Behavioural difficulties were apparent in the majority of the cases and an alarming number of children reported self-harm. Interestingly nearly all the cases had recognised needs, but not all of them were accessing appropriate services. Practical implications – There have been a number of changes regarding the identification and support of children’s mental health and well-being. This study highlights gaps in resources and provision, particularly around behavioural difficulties for children who are presenting as not coping in school. Originality/value – The findings from the SKIP study indicate the complexities and compounded difficulties faced by children who are experiencing exclusion from school. By implementing a systematic group of assessments the study was able to identify these complexities of need across a vulnerable group of children.

ObjectivesStudies in low-income and middle-income countries have shown an adverse association between environmental exposures including poverty. There is little literature from South Asia. We aimed to test the associations between housing, indoor air pollution and children’s respiratory health and recurrent fast breathing pneumonia in a poor urban setting in Pakistan.SettingPrimary health centres in a periurban slum in Karachi, Pakistan.MethodsNested matched case–control study within a non-inferiority randomised controlled trial of fast breathing pneumonia (Randomised Trial of Amoxicillin vs Placebo for Pneumonia (RETAPP)) in periurban slums of Karachi, Pakistan. Cases were children aged 2–60 months enrolled in RETAPP with fast breathing pneumonia who presented again with fast breathing between 8 weeks and 12 months after full recovery. Controls, selected in a 2:1 ratio, were age-matched participants who did not represent. Multivariable conditional logistic regression analysis was undertaken to explore associations with potentially modifiable environmental predictors including housing type, indoor air quality, exposure to tobacco smoke, outdoor pollution, household crowding, water and sanitation quality, nutritional status, immunisation completeness, breast feeding and airways hyperactivity.ResultsFast breathing recurred in 151 (3.7%) of children out of the total (4003) enrolled in the trial. Poor-quality housing of either katcha or mixed type strongly predicted recurrence with adjusted matched ORs 2.43 (95% CI 1.02 to 5.80) and 2.44 (1.11 to 5.38), respectively. Poor air quality, cooking fuel, inadequate ventilation, nutritional status, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) index, wheeze at first presentation and group of initial trial assignment were not independently predictive of recurrence.ConclusionPoor-quality housing independently predicted recurrence of fast breathing pneumonia.Trial registration numberNCT02372461
