At a glance, the Papuan conflict is a vertical conflict that has lasted more than 50 years. The main cause of this conflict is the desire for “Free Papua” which is supported by the Free Papua Movement (OPM). Conflicts also escalated over the issue of race and discrimination against Papuan students in Surabaya and Malang in August 2019. Negotiation is the Indonesian government's best option for resolving disputes in Papua. The main purpose of this article is to find the best solution for dispute resolution in Papua in terms of the terms that must be carried out and the negotiation process. This study uses a qualitative methodology to investigate social phenomena in society that occur naturally without engineering or laboratory work. This approach provides descriptive data in the form of descriptive or verbal words that describe conditions, situations, or certain different variables. The data collection technique is to use a literature search to obtain the required data. As a result, the Papua conflict negotiation process involved internal parties (central/regional government, KKB/OPM, traditional/religious leaders, civil society) and external parties (freeport), and became the main demand. Indicates that it is an independent Papua. Negotiations have been time consuming and faced many obstacles, but we continue to strive to reach a mutually beneficial solution. Dialogue between Jakarta and Papua should better reflect the cultural values of the Papuan people.

The concepts of management and leadership are phenomena that have existed since the existence of humanity. Both of these concepts have undergone significant evolutions over the centuries in which humanity has developed. The concept of management, which is one of the important descriptors of the organizational field, has emerged in different ways in different environments. Different styles of management have led to the emergence of different leadership behaviors in organizational environments. One of the most important reasons for the formation of different leadership styles in different organizational environments is cultural values. In societies with different cultural value patterns, the experiences of socio-economic life also differ. Here, the unique aspects of social values shape many basic elements. The management and leadership styles of the society or the organizational structures within the social structure are one of these basic elements. As the management and leadership styles of the countries change, the management and leadership styles of the organizations also differ. One of the most important distinctions in this regard is made with the distinction between east-west culture in the literature. The eastern management culture and leadership styles differ from the western approaches. This difference is also reflected in the understanding of management and leadership in social phenomena. As a matter of fact, the ancient Turkish and Eastern philosophers, who described the times spent with wars and struggles on the subject, touched on important points. Philosophers have made references to the foundations of management philosophy and leadership with their predictions about management in many works from Kutadgu Bilig to the works of Hsun Tzu examining the art of war. Similarly, rooted victories in the Turkish administrative culture, in which the eastern management philosophy was used, were won in the wars and the struggle for independence. One of the most important of these victories is the 30August Victory. It is possible to say that in this victory, which represents an important turning point for the Turks to gain their independence, many successful management behaviors, which the eastern philosophers have made their subject, were also used. In this sense, in this study, it is tried to examine the importance of the 30 August Victory, which is an important representation of the struggle for existence of a country that takes Western values as an example, as well as the eastern-based administrative behaviors.

It is the Regional Disaster Management Agency’s (BPBD) onus of South Sulawesi to assist the Governor in organizing regional government administration within the scope of regional disaster management. Among BPBD’s duties in South Sulawesi in handling corpses of natural disaster are: intact Muslim corpses are handled normally, in which the bodies were washed, shrouded, sanctified and buried by following the procedures that have been determined by the Shari'ah. Afterwards, decaying and unrecognizable Muslim corpses were directly shrouded, sanctified then buried. Whilst the large numbers corpses that mixed between Muslims and non-Muslims, were immediately buried and sanctified by religious leaders from each of the existing religious representatives. Hereinafter, the constraints faced by the BPBD of South Sulawesi in handling the corpses of natural disasters include: limited equipment, difficulty in reaching the location and the identification process which requires a long time. The Islamic law view regarding the handling of the natural disasters corpses is that basically, in normal conditions, the corpses must be washed, shrouded, sanctified and buried according to the procedures that have been determined by Islamic law. When a disaster occurs, the handling of the body is still carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Shari'ah but in an emergency situation.

This study aims at investigating the gender identity formation of some Indonesian women EFL teachers as they had experiences in advancing their study abroad. The study adopted a qualitative methodology within a feminist framework. The data were generated from some women who had been teaching English in Indonesia for at least two years prior to coming to another country to further their education. Through self-completion questionnaires and focus group interviews, the participants shared their lived-experiences and their adjustments as they were exposed to different cultural movements transnationally, between Indonesia and another country. How these women EFL teachers construct their gender identity during their transnational movement and how English actually influences these processes is the focus of the study. The findings reveal how the processes of gender identity construction were formed through governmental policy and socio-cultural values in the society. The findings also show how for these women EFL teachers their professional milieu was a site of contestation for women to promote their status in the society and gender equality. Finally the study highlights that English language is viewed as a benefit to elevate women’s social status as it facilitated their socialization in professional and educational contexts when they furthered their study in another country. Drawing on the findings, further research is suggested around the issue of gender identity construction of men EFL teachers in order to get more comprehensive picture. Keywords: gender identity, women EFL teachers, English language

The environmental damage that occurs is because of the human hands themselves, namely the lack of a sense of care for the environment they have. Therefore, cultural values that care about the environment will be better if they are instilled early on in the students. This study aims to find out the environmentally caring character education in Assalihiyah Thungphla Middle School, Khokpho, Pattani, Southern Thailand along with the factors that are supporting and inhibiting the cultivation of environmental caring characters in students. This type of research is field research and is qualitative descriptive. Data of this study were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of character education in Assalihiyah Middle School was focused on the problem of maintaining environmental cleanliness. The cultivation of character caring for the environment includes the realization of the Green Environment program as applicable in Indonesia. Environmental care character education is provided with various models, one of which is exemplary. The supporting factors for character education in the environment here are the habit of diligent home students and the participation of teachers, while the inhibiting factor is the laziness of students and different conditions outside the community.

In the context of Aceh, its society and social-ecnonomic development, based on a number of literatures, the meaning of local wisdom can be drawn from the values, norms, laws and knowledge formed by religious teachings, beliefs, traditional values and experiences inherited from ancestors ultimately forming a local knowledge system that is used to solve everyday problems by the community. Aceh, as a region, in addition to following national law practices and provisions, also has customary institutions and traditional / cultural values with its own management that involves community leaders who know a great deal about local wisdom in the region. This is where the roles of traditional leaders, religious leaders and socio-cultural figures are considered important in harmonizing local wisdom with spatial regulation and environmentally sustainable development
