Subak is a traditional organization in the field of agriculture and irrigation of rice fields in indigenous peoples in Bali that is socioeconomic, religious, economical that historically continues to grow and develop and has been awarded World Cultural Heritage status by UNESCO on June 29, 2012. However, along with the development of the times, the conversion of agricultural land functions are increasing which results in agricultural land continues to decrease and the existence of Subak is increasingly threatened. This research uses the foundation of Empowerment Theory according to Totok Mardikanto. The research method used is qualitative research with descriptive method. Data collection techniques used in this study are by observation, interview, and documentation. While data analysis used in processing the data obtained is by data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.  The observations showed that the empowerment process for Krama Subak has been running well but there are still obstacles that cause conversion of agricultural land function to continue to occur, such as the resources of heterogeneous farmers, farmers not owners of agricultural land, and farmers who are still tempted by rising land prices. Efforts made in addressing this is by holding the Hita Lalu Program, improving the intensification of subak administrators as well as the preparation of the Regulation on Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (LP2B). For the farmer’s response and availability, the majority of farmers does not know about LP2B policy, 80% of owner farmers are ready to provide their land into LP2B with some conditions. The availability of irrigation infrastructure in Sukabumi City is very good, where more than 75% of respondents rice fields has an irrigation system. Related to LP2B information system, Sukabumi City has issued a Mayor Regulation Number 8 of 2018 concerning LP2B Information System in Sukabumi City, but this system has not been optimal in providing basic information that is required to exist in a LP2B information system.

Sukoharjo Regency has established a Sustainable Food Agricultural Land in article 33 section 5 of the Regional Regulation No. 14 of 2011 in response to Law No. 41 of 2009 concerning Protection of Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (LP2B). However, this policy setting did not work effectively, as indicated by the rate of conversion of paddy fields, the area of paddy fields amounted to 21,096 hectares in 2006 to 20,814 hectares in 2014, then the rate of agricultural GRDP of 3.68% in 2006 to -0.09 in 2014 and the rate of processing industry PDRB increased from 3.82% in 2006 to 5.22% in 2014. This study aims to describe the governance of LP2B in Sukoharjo Regency. This research employs descriptive method and literature study. The results showed, (1) the protection of sustainable agricultural land was still based on the Regional Spatial Planning Coordinating Board (BKPRD) in accordance with Decree of Sukoharjo Regent No.690.05 / 1283/2013; (2) there was no  LP2B - Spatial Detail Plan yet ; (3) there was alleged practices of brokering of Land Use Allotment Permit; and (4) the active role of farmers in development was just begun in 2016, marked by the Establishment of Self-Supporting Agricultural Counselor Tulodho Tani in strengthening the Farmer Card and Agricultural Insurance program.

As the times and technology became more sophisticated, human needs and mobility also increased. One such technology is vehicle. It cannot be denied that motorized vehicles and cars have now become the most important parts of everyday life. Vehicle protection is very important to keep vehicles safe, especially in areas prone to theft. Protection of the vehicle itself is divided into two ways, namely by personal and insurance methods. The fact is that vehicle protection carried out by Desa Sayang residents is still very minimal, which is caused by a lack of knowledge and understanding of citizens about the importance of vehicle protection. Seen from only a few residents who have insurance services to protect their vehicles. Measuring the perceptions of residents of RW 03 Desa Sayang, Jatinangor Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency is divided into 2 things, namely knowledge (cognition) and behavior (konasi). Of the 97 informants interviewed, it was found that people's knowledge of insurance was not good. While their knowledge of vehicle protection in general is quite good. In addition, vehicle ownership also affects individual knowledge of insurance and vehicle protection. Unfortunately, protection of vehicles in the form of insurance is rarely done by residents because most are hampered in terms of costs and feel they do not need it. Therefore, a perception survey and vehicle protection socialization were made in Sayang Village, Jatinangor Sub-District, Sumedang Regency so that residents would be more aware of maintaining their vehicles.

The use of sewage sludge in agriculture decreases the pressure on landfills. In Romania, massive investments have been made in wastewater treatment stations, which have resulted in the accumulation of important quantities of sewage sludge. The presence of these sewage sludges coincides with large areas of degraded agricultural land. The aim of the present article is to identify the best technological combinations meant to solve these problems simultaneously. Adapting the quality and parameters of the sludge to the specificity of the land solves the possible compatibility problems, thus reducing the impact on the environment. The physico-chemical characteristics of the fermented sludge were monitored and optimal solutions for their treatment were suggested so as to allow that the sludge could be used in agriculture according to the characteristics of the soils. The content of heavy metals in the sewage sludge was closely monitored because the use of sewage sludge as a fertilizer does not allow for any increases in the concentrations of these in soils. The article identifies those agricultural areas which are suitable for the use of sludge, as well as ways of correcting some parameters (e.g., pH), which allow the improvement of soil quality and obtained higher agricultural production.

Abstract The near chora (agricultural land) of Tauric Chersonesos was investigated using multiyear remote sensing data and field surveys. The boundaries of the land plots were studied with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology and an analysis of satellite images. Reliable reconstruction of the borders has been done for 231 plots (from a total of about 380), which is approximately 53% of the Chersonesean chora. During the last 50 years, most of the ancient land plots have been destroyed by modern buildings, roads, or forests. However, in the 1960s, a significant part of the chora was still preserved. Changes in preservation with time were studied with the aid of satellite images that were made in 1966 and 2015. During that period, it was found that the number of plots with almost-complete preservation decreased from 47 to 0. Those land plots whose preservation was better than 50% dropped from 104 to 4. A temporal map shows this decline in preservation. It was found that the areas of land plots could be determined accurately with satellite images; compared to field surveys, this accuracy was about 99%.

In the last decades, political policies and collective consciousness focused on the importance of sustainable food and environmentally friendly approaches in agriculture. Distribution of beneficial organisms is a very important factor in integrated pest management, and mechanical release could improve application uniformity as well as reduce costs and working time. Several mechanisation experiences have been carried out through the years, however none of them has still found a massive application in common agricultural practices. This review paper analyses all the efforts made in this direction, by evaluating main strengths and weakness points of manually brought, tractor mounted, or aerial mechanical devices. In this way development opportunities can be identified, in a field that could achieve a substantial role in food production and agricultural activities while respecting the environment and human health.
