Pesantren is required to be competitive in the field of science. The presence of the SMP-BP program is one of the efforts to improve science education in Islamic boarding schools. Leadership and culture are essential factors in encouraging the level of organisational management effectiveness. This article aims to deepen knowledge of practices in pesantren culture and its dynamics concerning the effectiveness of pesantren organisations (SMP-BP implementation). The research paradigm is qualitative. Data is obtained through interviews and observations. This research involved pesantren managers consisting of leaders, deputy leaders, and several pesantren teachers in Aceh Tenggara district. This research is necessary because it examines a culture in a practical perspective that visualises and concretises the complexities in Islamic boarding school culture concerning the dynamics of work improvement. The results showed that the formation of pesantren culture is a fundamental principle in creating organisational effectiveness. This study investigates the forms of practice carried out by pesantren managers in increasing organisational effectiveness. Identifying the improvement in the management of pesantren is influenced by the policy factors of the pesantren leadership. Three practices identified in an organisational culture approach are leadership mechanisms, management revitalisation, change commitment, and building organisational culture. The research has implications as material for further studies on strengthening organisational culture both contextually and conceptually on the dynamics of education management.

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation, characteristics of Islamic education management based on pesantren in SMA Darussalam Blokagung Banyuwangi. The research method uses descriptive qualitative, data collection through interviews, observation and documentation. The paradigm of this research is postpositivistic with data analysis of three Miles and Huberman models, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results in this study are the implementation of Islamic boarding school-based education management through planning; with good service adopting the concept of modern school management, involving all stakeholders, organizing; grouping of work units according to school needs, implementation; creating effective communication, committed to implementing the school's vision, mission and values, supervision; determination of implementation standards, determination of measurement of the implementation of activities. Meanwhile, the characteristics of Islamic education management based on pesantren are having sincerity in teaching; high dedication in work, discipline in every activity, maintaining solidity by establishing friendship between teachers and employees, and maintaining trust and responsibility in carrying out each task.

Abstract: This study investigate the problem in the utilization of classic book in fiqh learning in Islamic Junior High School based boarding school in Pamekasan. It deals with how tradition in fiqh learning related to the type of classic book, learning method, book selection, and learning achievement. The teaching and learning of fiqh in Islamic Junior High School based boarding school generally used classic book fiqih from Shafi'i madzhab. The reason for employing the classic  book is to preserve the scientific tradition that is occured in the boarding schoool. The method used in fiqh learning is a combination between classic book methods that exists in boarding school, such as bandongan, sorogan, and memorization. The achievement of the fiqih curriculum standard which has been determined by Kemenag is pursued through three approaches, namely (1) integrating fiqh curriculum stipulated by Ministry of Religious Affairs and classic book; (2) khushûshiyah class; and (3) not using specific books from Kemenag.Abstrak: Penelitian ini membahas tentang permasalahan penggunaan kitab kuning dalam pembelajaran fiqih pada Madrasah Tsanawiyah berbasis pesantren di Kabupaten Pamekasan. Bagaimana tradisi pemakaian kitab kuning dalam pembelajaran fiqih kaitannya dengan jenis kitab kuning yang digunakan, metode pembelajaran, latarbelakang pemilihan kitab, dan capaian pembelajarannya. Pemakaian kitab kuning dalam pembelajaran fiqih di MTs berbasis pesantren pada umumnya menggunakan kitab adalah kitab kuning fiqih bermadzhab Syafi’i. Motif pemakaian kitab kuning adalah untuk melestarikan tradisi keilmuan yang sudah establish di pesantren dan pengenalan kitab kuning pada para santri. Metode yang dipakai dalam pembelajaran fiqih adalah penggabungan antar metode pembelajaran kitab kuning yang ada di pesantren  yaitu bandongan, sorogan, dan hafalan. Pencapaian standar kurikulum fiqih yang telah ditentukan oleh Kemenag, ditempuh melalui tiga pendekatan: (1) memadukan antara fiqih kurikulum Kemenag dan fiqih kitab; (2) kelas khushûshiyah; dan (3) tidak memakai buku Kemenag secara khusus.

The decline of national values caused by the weakness of character education. This research aims to gain an overview of the character education management in high school-based boarding school in Bandung. The method used is descriptive qualitative approach method and technique of triangulation. Research results show that management education character was made based on the appropriate program of management and the functions are used. The conclusion that the management of character education in high school-based boarding school in Bandung was made from planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring that in it there is the assessment process although those are not optimal

Al-Aqsa Middle School is a boarding school-based junior high school, which requires all students to stay in a dormitory for three years and speak Arabic and English. Al-Aqsa Middle School graduates can become individuals who are familiar with foreign languages based on language learning routines. This study tries to reveal the Arabic learning system so that students can get used to speaking Arabic. This research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The code collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of learning the Arabic language, knowing the supporting and inhibiting factors, and expressing the abilities of their students. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the implementation of linguistic programs carried out by the Al-Aqsha Middle School language development institution consisting of planning, organizing, implementing, controlling, and evaluating has not been maximally achieved. 2) Factors supporting the implementation of this linguistic program are those of the language instructors in language. The drawing factor is the freedom of communication used between students and traders. 3) The ability of the Arabic language skills of students at Al Aqsha Plus Middle School is not good enough because the program implementation has not been maximized.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul pendidikan karakter kebangsaan Pancasila yang sesuai untuk diterapkan di sekolah menengah (SMP) berbasis pesantren. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development). Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu para guru Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) SMP berbasis pesantren yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Sekolah yang dipilih adalah SMP yang memang kondusif untuk pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter bangsa Pancasila dan memenuhi kriteria yang telah ditentukan. Pengumpulan data dengan angket, wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul pendidikan karakter kebangsaan Pancasila yang dikembangkan menghasilkan modul pembelajaran yang berkualitas dengan kriteria sangat valid menurut ahli materi dengan skor empiris 112 dan ahli media pembelajaran dengan skor empiris 124. Hal itu memiliki makna bahwa modul pendidikan karakter kebangsaan Pancasila sudah layak digunakan pada uji coba setelah dilakukan revisi berdasarkan saran dan masukan para ahli.------------------------------------------------------------Development of the Pancasila national character education module in boarding school-based junior secondary schoolsThis study aims to develop a Pancasila national character education module that is suitable to be applied in boarding-based secondary schools (SMP). The research uses Research and Development model. The subjects in this study were the teachers of the Islamic Boarding School-based Pancasila and Citizenship (PPKn) chosen purposively.  The selected school is a junior high school that is indeed conducive to the implementation of Pancasila nation character education and fulfills predetermined criteria. Data collection with questionnaires, interviews, observation, and document analysis. The data analysis technique uses qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the Pancasila national character education module developed produced a quality learning module with very valid criteria according to content expert judgment with 112 empirical scores and learning media expert judgment with a 124 empirical score. It means that the Pancasila national character education module is appropriate for use in trial after revision based on expert advice and input.

This research aimed at identifying the Moslems character called Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaah an-Nahdliyah (Aswaja) to strengthen the Islamic moderation in Islamic Boarding School. Islamic moderation became an important topic in developing the understanding of diversity in Indonesia. The mixed-method study depended on quantitative and qualitative data sourced from the questionnaire comprising three domains of knowledge, attitude, and the practice of Islamic moderation and in-depth interview with the students, alumni, teachers, and the leaders of Islamic Boarding School. Based on the result of unpaired t-test, the study found out that significance for the knowledge was 0.80, for the attitude was 0.03, for the practice was 0.46, while the total reached 0.36. It also unveiled that it necessary to strengthen the materials of Aswaja in building Aswaja-based Moslems characters in Islamic boarding schools. This study identified eight characters of Aswaja Moslems as the source of material and curriculum development for Islamic Moderation in Islamic Boarding School, including (1) Islamic moderation guidance; (2) the maintenance of togetherness; (3) the acknowledgment of the authorization of fiqh schools; (4) the existence of bid’ah hasanah; (5) the loyal opposition to leaders; (6) the non-liberal method; (7) non-dominance of the truth; (8) the respect to the local wisdom under the standard of ushul fiqh. This study expected to embody the spirit of religious moderation in Indonesia.

Pemerintah telah berupaya untuk memasyarakatkan kewirausahaan, namun upaya tersebut belum membawa pengaruh yang signifikan karena masih banyak penduduk  yang tidak produktif setiap tahun. Dalam praktik di sekolah, bisa di lihat bagaimana strategi mengelola lembaga sekolah dengan menggunakan konsep kewirausahaan yang menguntungkan bagi sekolah dan siswa, dengan cara mengoptimalkan segala potensi yang dimilikinya. Hal ini bisa dilihat dari (1) syarat-syarat apa saja yang harus di miliki pengelola sekolah agar mampu menciptakan unit kewirausahaan, (2) bagaimana pola pengembangan unit kewirausahaan yang dapat di implementasikan di sekolah, (3) bagaimana cara memonitor dan mengevaluasi pengembangan kewirausahaan di sekolah. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah SMP Islamic Solidarity School yang telah menerapakan kewirausahaan berbasis sekolah. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan memaparkan hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian yang capai saat ini yaitu, guru belum menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis kewirausahaan dalam perencanaan pembelajaran. Ada beberapa kendala yang dihadapi pihak sekolah dalam menrapkan kewirausahaan berbasis sekolah diantaranya dana, Sumber Daya Manusia, Sarana prasarana, waktu, pemasaran  dan kerjasama pada pihak luar yang terkait.Kata kunci: manajemen pendidikan, pendidikan kewirausahaan, strategi berbasis sekolah MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES BASED ENTREPRENEURSHIP THROUGH SCHOOLS IN ISLAMIC SOLIDARITY SCHOOLAbstractThe government has made an effort to promote entrepreneurship, but these effort  seem not show a significant impact due to the fact that many people who are not productive every year. It can be seen at school practice how the management of school institutions apply the concept of entrepreneurship that is benefical for schools and students by optimizing its potential. This can bee seen from (1). The requirements that should be owned by the school manager to be able to create an entrepreneurial unit, (2). How to develop of entrepreneurial units that can be implemented in school, (3). How to monitor and evaluate the development of entrepreneurship in schools. The sample of this study is Islamic Junior High School (Solidarity School) that has been applying the school-based entrepreneurship. This is a qualitative method using descriptive approach. The current research results are the teachers have not applied a based learning entrepreneurship in lesson planning. There are several problems faced by the school in applying the school-based entrepreneurship namely: funding, human resources, facilities and infrastructure, time, marketing, and cooperation on relevant external parties.Keywords: education management, entrepreneurship education, school-based strategies

The article presents the results of empirical research of the main theoretical approaches to the concept of efficiency of management services in the field of higher education. It is determined that the concept of efficiency management is a complex multifaceted indicator that includes certain performance indicators related to efficiency, profitability, effectiveness, etc., in economics and management there is no single general approach to determining the effectiveness of management. This study is aimed at developing life skill based English instructional material in bilingual pesantren by using 4D Model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). To achieve this aim, this study was conducted using the Research Development (R d) method. As parts of this method, a series of data collecting techniques involving pre-experimental teaching, interviews, observations, and tests of effectiveness, practicality and validity, were carried out to gather both quantitative and qualitative data. The participants of this study were one English language teacher and students of Class XI Timur Tengah, Insan Cendikia Boarding School (ICBS) Payakumbuh. The findings of this research reveal that the life skill based instructional material is valid and practical. Consequently, the life skill-based materials development can positively give the effective result as the innovation in English instructional material

Changes have taken place in the lives of Indian organisations due to globalization and developments in information and communication technology revolutions. The present research focused on comparative perspectives and conceptual frame work suggested by Daft (1995) to study public and private sector organisations relating to culture, structure and strategy on organisational effectiveness. 400 front line managers comprising of 200 public and 200 private sectors, were taken into consideration. Group t-tests were conducted to assess the similarities and dissimilarities among HR personnel. The findings made a modest empirical contribution to understanding the fundamental challenges of sectoral perspectives. On one hand, the findings confirmed significant differences between public and private sector employees in their perceptions of organisational culture, structure and strategy; and on the other hand, examined the theoretical model of the relationship between organisational effectiveness as a series of work-related outcomes stating no significant differences across the sectors. The study provided practical implications for organisational development in linking structural variables to performance; focused on organisational culture in organisational efforts; addressed organisational issues holistically; suggested future studies in the areas of measurement improvement; and explored further research questions.
