Noise pollution contributes to environmental degradation and poses a threat to human and terrestrial lives. Noise pollution can be regarded as environmental noise and the propagation of noise may develop a harmful impact on the activity of human or animal life. This study was conducted to determine the influence of environmental factors and its associated health risks of noise pollution in Owerri Metropolis, Nigeria. The study employed a cross sectional descriptive research design. Measurement of noise levels was carried out at 24 different locations. The sampling technique used in this study was a cluster sampling technique. The average reading for each location and each ward were calculated. Also, 900 respondents comprising adults who live and/or operate in the areas were interviewed on the health risks associated with noise, using structured and standardized questionnaire. The results obtained showed that the computed average noise level at the 24 different locations ranged from 79.4 – 95.8dB, and all of which were significantly (P<0.05) above the acceptable standard ranges of <80dB, thereby rating the noise level not acceptable because they can be capable of causing discomfort and pains in man. Influence of environmental factors on noise pollution; 29(3.2%) reported heavy vehicular traffic plying residential areas contributed to noise generation, 33(3.7%) said indiscriminate blowing of siren. Perceived health risks were reported as 47(5.2%) disturbs sleep, 24(2.7%) causes annoyance, 41(4.61%) causes headache and 21(2.3%) interference with conversation. In conclusion, environmental factors, poor education and lack of enforcement of the laws influence noise generation and there is need to check the level of noise pollution in Owerri Metropolis.

Background : Noise was one of the dangerous factors at a workplace which causes various effects on workers. Purpose :  The purpose of this research was to described the activity stages, identified the noise danger, and assessed the risk and its level at Air Separation Plant of PT. X. Methods : This research was a descriptive research with a cross sectional approach. The object of the research was the noise danger potential and the noise risk level assessment at Air Separation Plant of PT. X. Results : The result of this research showed that there were 12 identified noise danger points. These results consisted of 5 (42 %) noise risks with low category, 2 (16 %) with middle category, and another 5 (42 %) with high category. The highest noise intensity measurement result was found on Recycle Nitrogen Compressor (RNC) machine, which was 116,5 dBA.  Conclusion :  Based on this data, it can be concluded that there were 12 identified noise danger points and the highest noise intensity measurement result was found on Recycle Nitrogen Compressor (RNC) machine, which was 116,5 dBA. It is suggested for the related company to execute controls mostly in diminishing the noise sources.

Background: OSCE is a clinical examination to test students’ skill. Students have to demonstrate skill possessed by the different conditions and examined by a particular examiners. The condition potentially the students suffering of anxiety in which symptoniced by phsichologies as students’ scared, felt nervous insecure. Impacts of anxiety caused reduction of students’ skill in pursuing their tasks thereby get the bad result .Purpose: To find out the correlation between anxiety and OSCE gradeMethod: This research is a quantitative descriptive research with cross sectional method,. Samples were taken from all second and third year students as many of 135 students who participated in OSCE. To investigate, the researcher used two kinds of research instruments, OSCE checklist and anxiety rating scale which were filled by students, then it was conducted statistics test using Pearson Product Moment correlation test. Results: Anxiety score in this research was about 73-141, with an average 100,66 and deviation standard 12,55, whereas OSCE grade showed that the lowest score was 40 and the highest was 92 with the average 71,5; deviation standard 10,52 and the probability > 0,001 (0,396>0,01). Conclusion: Most of students suffered nervous when facing OSCE. After analyzing through Pearson correlation test was obtained that there was not any positive correlation between students’ anxiety and OSCE grade. And there was significancy different between the first year and the third year
