Indonesia might be considered as "fortunate". In fact every five years, and often to concur one year after the election took place, Indonesian Muslims have a routine assembly called the Indonesian Muslim Congress (Kongres Umat Islam Indonesia, KUII). The Congress has reached the seventh (KUII VII) in 2020, and one of the its main goals is to consolidate Indonesian Muslims. On top of that, acting as a facilitator, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) through this congress also aspires that Muslims in Indonesia to become the finest community (khayra ummah), to realize the unity of the people (tawhidul ummah), to achieve empowerment of the people (taqwiyatul ummah), to mainstream wasathiyah al-Islam (center and moderate Islam) as well as Islam rahmatan lil alamin, and to install religious values as a spirit of devotion to the nation and state. All of these goals are covered under the grand theme of the congress entitled "Strategies for the Struggle of Indonesian Muslims to Achieve Advanced, Fair and Civilized of Indonesia".

A small but growing area of public administration scholarship appreciates the influence of religious values on various aspects of government. This appreciation parallels a growing interest in comparative public administration and indigenized forms of government which recognizes the role of culture in different approaches to government. This article is at the crossroads of these two trends while also considering a very salient region, the Islamic world. The Islamic world is uniquely religious, which makes this discussion even more relevant, as the nations that represent them strive towards legitimacy and stability. The history and core values of Islam need to be considered as they pertain to systems of government that are widely accepted by the people. In essence, this is being done in many countries across the Islamic world, providing fertile grounds for public administration research from a comparative perspective. This paper explores these possibilities for future research on this topic.

The popular edible fruit called kola nut that is found all over the Earth is native to the people of West Africa. In Idjerhe (Jesse) culture, the kola nut is part of the people’s traditional religious activities and spirituality. The presentation, breaking, and eating of the kola nut signifies hospitality, friendship, love, mutual trust, manliness, peace, acceptance, happiness, fellowship, and communion with the gods and spirits. These socio-religious values of the kola nut among the Idjerhe people are not well documented, however, and this paper aims to fill the lacuna. It employs participatory observation and oral interviews, supported by a critical review of scholarly literature on the subject. The research posits that churches can use the kola nut as a Eucharistic element that would be meaningful and indigenous to the Idjerhe people.

Rokat tase ’is part of the tradition of the Gebang Village community which is carried out for generations. Rokat Tase 'is carried out every year by the people of Gebang Village as an effort to maintain tradition. Gradually, the implementation of this tradition underwent changes in line with changes in the socio-religious conditions of the people of Gebang Village. In the tradition of rokat tase ', this change is seen, for example, from a series of processions that have nuanced animism-dynamism into a series of Islamic traditions. This happened along with the strengthening of Islamic values in the Gebang Village community. Strengthening Islamic religious values has an influence on the series of implementation of the Rokat tase tradition. At present, the tradition of the Rokat Tase 'in Gebang Village already contains and contains Islamic values. Among them are the recitation of the tahlil, the recitation of the prayer of the Prophet and the reading of prayers offered to Allah SWT. This is far different from the initial conditions of the implementation of the Rokat tase tradition, which was originally nuanced with animism-dynamism.

ABSTRACT In general, the condition of the education in Indonesia yet is not encouraging, among others many obstacles noted; limitation of education access, the number of teachers which is not evenly distributed, particularly to the remote areas and the quality of the teachers which does not yet meet the expectation. As per Political and Economic Risk Consultant (PERC) survey, the quality of education in Indonesia was ranked at number 12 out of 12 countries in Asia. Indonesia position was below Vietnam. One of the initiative, which is taken by the Indonesian government to reduce the gap is creating a program so called Indonesia teaching (Indonesia mengajar) by recruiting, training, and sending young people who are the best graduates of many universities to teach as elementary school teachers for one year from all over the places within Indonesia. Aside of their main duty to teach, they also have been mandated to change the behavior of the people around to be better.
