Using Technology in Providing Effective Training

The key to an organization’s abilities to provide effective training in the 21st century is by infusing technology into their training programs. Before technology infusion can occur, there must be a clear understanding of the dynamics of learning with technology and of the instructional culture of the organization. Developers of effective training programs infuse technology based on four phases—development, integration, implementation, and evaluation. The development phase involves the analysis of the organization, the creation of training goals and objectives, and the design of the training program. The integration phase determines the organization’s technology levels and allows developers and trainers to expedite training methods suitable for particular needs. The implementation phase consists of the actual delivery of the training. The evaluation phase is ongoing through formative evaluation, and it ends with a summative evaluation. Future trends of technology in training show promising models for effective individualized training in virtual environments.

In this paper, overweight or obese young women with sports experience and body fat rate > 30% were divided into groups to compare the effect of "HIIT" and "aerobic" exercise in different sequence combination training methods, and analyze whether "HIIT + Aerobic" is more effective than "aerobic + HIIT". The aim is to provide more effective training programs and establish scientific fitness awareness for overweight or obese young women who have sports experience.

Testing in the field of parachute technology provides space for the application of new and innovative methods of measuring operating and functional parameters. The main aim of the paper is to present the results of research for the verification of the photo-optical method of measuring the vertical speed of the M-282 parachutes, and for its use in testing, collecting, and investigating motion data in parachuting. As part of this measuring technology, twelve jumps were performed. It was verified that the experiment was completed for the M-282 parachute according to the regulation of SAE AS 8015B “Minimum Performance Standard Parachute Assemblies and Components”. An analysis of the influencing factors and quantification of their influence on the uncertainty of the measurement results was also performed. The results of the measurement achieved by using the photo-optical method were compared with the measurement with the electronic variometer FLYTEC 4030. The vertical speed of the M-282 parachute (4.655 m·s−1) defined by the photo-optical method is significantly similar to the vertical speed of the M-282 parachute (4.662 m·s−1) defined by FLYTEC 4030. We can state that the process of identifying the vertical speed of the parachute by the photo-optical method was correct. This is a suitable method of evaluating motion data in the operation of M-282 type parachutes. In the following research for generalization of the methodology, we assume the performance of more than 60 experimental jumps using different types of parachutes, digital sensors (cameras), and a photo-optical method to examine motion data and formulate recommendations for testing, investigative applications, individualized training programs, and aspects of parachuting injury prevention.

Three years ago Kent State began making the transition from a traditional student teaching program to the Teacher Education Center approach. The major purpose was to bring together school and university people in a parity relationship to jointly plan, implement and evaluate the field-based components of professional training programs. As Kent State moved into the center approach, the responsibilities of student teaching supervisors began to change significantly. This prompted a redefinition of the role and title change to clinical professor. Last year the analysis of the data received from a comprehensive formative evaluation effort of our TEC program was completed. A major component of the assessment was the in-depth examination of the clinical professorship as perceived by TEC administrators, cooperating teachers, associate teachers and clinical professors. The data, analyses, and implications are reported in this manuscript. A major overall implication of the findings is that the clinical professor is the critical linkage between school and university in teacher preparation.

Purpose: This study describes the development and implementation of a mechanical ventilation education program with a blended learning method for nursing students.Methods: Sixty-five nursing students were recruited either to the experimental group (n=33) or to the control group (n=32) in May 2020. This program was developed based on the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation model. The analysis phase consisted of a literature review, expert consultations, and target group survey. In addition, learning objectives and a structure were designed, and an online program was developed. In the implementation phase, the program was conducted over the course of 2 weeks. The evaluation phase involved verification of the effects of the program on knowledge of mechanical ventilation, self-confidence, and ventilator nursing skills performance, as well as an assessment of satisfaction with the program.Results: The experimental group had significantly higher scores on knowledge of mechanical ventilation (t=4.29, p<.001), self-confidence (t=2.31, p=.024), and ventilator nursing skills performance (t=4.65, p<.001) than the control group.Conclusion: The results indicate that this mechanical ventilation education program with blended learning was effective in meeting the needs of nursing students and can be widely used in this context.

Village tourism is one form of tourism that applies the concept of community empowerment so that community participation is the most important component in its development. This study aims to describe the development of the Pentingsari Tourism Village in the perspective of community participation. This research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The results showed that the development  of  the  Pentingsari  Tourism  Village  received  full  support  from  the  Pentingsari  community and  local  government  through  its  participation  in  tourism  activities.  At  the  planning and  decisionmaking stages, the community participated from planning, socialization to community and village government, to making decisions about the formation of a tourism village. Community participation in the implementation phase is carried out by giving thought, material, and being directly involved in every tourism village development activity and trying to create a tourism village that is ready to compete in the tourism industry. Participation in the stage of enjoying the results is shown by improving the living conditions  of  the  Pentingsari  community  due  to  tourism  activities.  This  means  that  the  community  enjoys the results of tourism, economically, socially, culturally, and environmentally. Furthermore, community participation in the evaluation phase was demonstrated through their involvement in regular meetings between village tourism managers, village government and local government.AbtrakDesa  wisata  merupakan  salah  satu  bentuk  wisata  yang  menerapkan  konsep pemberdayaan  masyarakat  sehingga partisipasi  masyarakat  menjadi  komponen terpenting  dalam pengembangannya.  Penelitian  ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang pengembangan  Desa Wisata  Pentingsari  dalam  perspektif  partisipasi  masyarakat.  Penelitian  ini  bersifat  deskriptif dengan  pendekatan  kualitatif.  Hasil  penelitian  menunjukkan  bahwa  pengembangan  Desa Wisata Pentingsari  mendapat  dukungan penuh dari  masyarakat Pentingsari  dan  pemerintah  daerah  melalui partisipasinya  dalam  kegiatan wisata. Pada tahap  perencanaan  dan pengambilan  keputusan, masyarakat berpartisipasi mulai dari perencanaan,  sosialisasi ke masyarakat dan pemerintah  desa hingga pengambilan keputusan tentang  pembentukan  desa wisata. Partisipasi masyarakat  dalam tahap implementasi dilakukan dengan memberikan  pemikiran,  materi,  dan terlibat  langsung dalam setiap kegiatan pengembangan desa wisata serta berupaya menciptakan  desa wisata yang  siap  bersaing  di  industri  pariwisata.  Partisipasi  dalam  tahap  menikmati  hasil  ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan kondisi kehidupan masyarakat  Pentingsari akibat  kegiatan  wisata. Hal ini berarti bahwa masyarakat menikmati  hasil dari kegiatan  wisata baik secara ekonomi, sosial, budaya, dan lingkungan. Selanjutnya  partisipasi  masyarakat dalam  tahap  evaluasi  ditunjukkan melalui  keterlibatannya dalam  pertemuan  rutin antarpengelola  desa wisata, pemerintah  desa, dan pemerintah daerah setempat.

The purpose of this community service activity is to support the Agro Tourism of Nggorang Village, Komodo District, West Manggarai to maximize the productivity of cattle farms by utilizing the availability of natural resources while empowering rice straw agricultural waste as the main source of feed by utilizing feed processing technology, creating a healthy environment in the village by supporting Agroeduwisata village and clean grazing center through the utilization of livestock feces waste into organic fertilizer using natural probiotics, which have an impact on environmental cleanliness. In achieving this goal, there are a number of methods for achieving the objectives, namely the active participation approach of the community in collaboration with the village component starting from the planning stage, including data collection and mapping of available resources; implementation phase; the monitoring and evaluation phase of the activities to ensure the achievement of all aspect of the objectives. Based on the results obtained in this activity, there is an understanding of the benefits and advantages of integrated grazing land that can be applied by farmers in Desa Nggorang village, Komodo District, West Manggarai in NTT  Keywords: Livestock centers; Agro-tourism; Komodo district

Abstract BackgroundContinuing professional education is essential for nurses to provide quality patient care and upgrade their professional skills and competence. The need for continuing medical education (CME) has become more apparent in the face of advances in medical science, the ever-changing healthcare system, and the important role nurses play in improving health care. It is therefore imperative to explore nurses’ experience of CME courses and the extent to which such programs are effective. The present qualitative study aimed to assess the lived experience of nurses on the effect of CE programs in promoting their knowledge, skill, and attitude toward non-communicable diseases.MethodsThis qualitative study was conducted in 2019-2020 at various hospitals affiliated to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (Shiraz, Iran). The target population was nurses actively working in the chronic wards of these hospitals. The participants were selected using maximum variation sampling, including nursing managers, education and clinical supervisors, and staff nurses. Data were collected through individual, face-to-face, semi-structured interviews and analysed using the conventional content analysis method. Data trustworthiness was assessed according to the criteria proposed by Guba and Lincoln.ResultsAnalysis of the interview data resulted in 230 primary codes based on which 15 subcategories, 6 categories, and 3 themes were identified. The extracted themes were training to improve knowledge and attitude, training to improve professional skills, and the need for effective training programs. The associated categories weretraining to improve clinical knowledge, training to improve professional attitude, training in clinical skills related to holistic and person‐centred care, communication skills training, incorporate the fundamentals of effective training, and recognize common challenges and barriers to effective training.ConclusionProfessional competence and performance of nurses can be improved through intrinsic motivation stimulation, planning and implementation of training programs based on professional needs, and effective assessment of the teaching/learning process.

Due to the prevalent use of Information Systems (IS) in modern organisations, evaluation research in this field is becoming more and more important. In light of this, a set of rigorous methodologies were developed and used by IS researchers and practitioners to evaluate the increasingly complex IS implementation used. Moreover, different types of IS and different focusing perspectives of the evaluation require the selection and use of different evaluation approaches and methodologies. This chapter aims to identify, explore, investigate, and discuss the various key methodologies that can be used in IS evaluation from different perspectives, namely in nature (e.g. summative vs. formative evaluation) and in strategy (e.g. goal-based, goal-free, and criteria-based evaluation). Six case studies are also presented and discussed in this chapter to illustrate how the different IS evaluation methodologies can be applied in practices. The chapter concludes that evaluation methodologies should be selected depending on the nature of the IS and the specific goals and objectives of the evaluation. Nonetheless, it is also proposed that formative criteria-based evaluation and summative criteria-based evaluation are currently among the more widely used in IS research. The authors suggest that the combined used of one or more of these approaches can be applied at different stages of the IS life cycle in order to generate more rigorous and reliable evaluation outcomes. Moreover, results and outcomes of IS evaluation research will not just be useful in practically guiding actions to improve the current system, but can also be used to generate new knowledge and theory to be adopted by future IS research.
