The sources of data were 19 songs taken from Thriller and Invincible albums by Michael Jackson and the lyrics of the songs. The research design used was descriptive qualitative research with documentation analysis as the technique of data collection. The result showed that there were 65 personification expressions found in the albums. Those 65 personifications were categorized into four types of personification as proposed by Dorst et al. (2011) namely: conventionalized personification (33 expressions), novel personification (20 expressions), default personification (12 expressions), and personification-with-metonymy (0 expressions). The idea of conventionalized personification presents in the lyrics is to dig out the beauty and tranquility of nature to life. It also might address giving an object or animal-human characteristics to create interesting imagery to the ELT Students. Also, these songs are assumed as one of the various English materials in language teaching in the future since it has no sarcasm and motivating contexts throughout the lyrics themselves.

Class action research was motivated by the discovery of cases of third grade students at SD Negeri Pabelan 2, it was identified that in learning mathematics, multiplication arithmetic operations were still low. This fact is shown through the value of the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) for Mathematics, which is 75, only 36% of students achieve the KKM score. The purpose of the research is to improve the achievement of mathematics learning outcomes with the number card game method. This study used a classroom action research design consisting of two cycles. Data collection techniques in this study through written tests and observations. From the results of the study showed that the mastery of learning increased in the first cycle by 68% and in the second cycle by 72%. From these results it can be concluded that by applying the number card game method, multiplication and division counting operations material can improve mathematics learning outcomes and provide a fun learning atmosphere and can motivate students to be active in learning.

The instrument of data collection are question and questionnaire. The results are average pretest score of experiment class is 49,67 and posttest score is 83,50. Besides, control class have 52,17 and 72,33 as average pretest score and posttest score respectively. Both class are classified to medium category based on N-gain value (the value of experiment class is 0,67 and 0,44 for control class). Those class have significant difference result of t test both in posttest score and entrepreneurial interest (p <0,05). The conclusion of this research is that the ethnoscience of salted egg production in membrane transport learning is significantly effective (p <0,05) for cognitive learning outcomes and entrepreneurial interest of SMA N 1 Kendal students. Key words: cognitive learning outcomes, entrepreneurial interest, ethnosains, salted egg ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektifitas pembelajaran transport membran bermuatan etnosains terhadap hasil belajar kognitif dan minat berwirausaha siswa SMA. This study investigated the influence of social media on the sexual behaviour of youth in Kwara State. Descriptive research design was adopted for the study. A total of 395 youth participated in the study. One research question was raised while three null hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The instrument used for data collection for this study was a researcher-designed questionnaire entitled “Influence of Social Media Questionnaire” (ISMQ). The findings revealed that social media has considerable influence on the sexual behaviour of youth in Kwara State. Social media leads students to the act of sending erotic messages, watching pornographic films and movies, and also increases risky sexual behaviour such as masturbation. There were no significant differences in the influence of social media on sexual behaviour of youth in Kwara State based on gender, age and university attended. It was therefore recommended that counsellors should expose students to the danger inherent in negative uses of social media and analyze the possible result of proper usage of social media. Counsellors should also provide information specifically on the safe and respectful use of technology, as well as consequences of the negative use of social media to students of different genders, ages and universities attended.

Research that examines the picture of student discipline before and after the application of positif reinforcement techniques and the effect of the application of positif reinforcement techniques to increase student discipline in SMA Negeri 20 Pangkep. This study aims to determine the level of student discipline as well as determine the effect of positif reinforcement techniques on increasing student discipline in SMA Negeri 20 Pangkep. Data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire with a sample of 35 students from all grade X students with a population of 162 students in SMA Negeri 20 Pangkep. This type of research used in this study is an experimental study with one group pretest-posttest village design research design. The results showed that there was a difference between the test results before and after being given a positif reinforcement technique treatment of 0.660 at a significance of 0.879> 0.05. While the value of t arithmetic is smaller than t table (21,707 <1,697) at a significance level of 5%, it means that there is an influence on the application of the Positif Reinforcement technique to the discipline of student learning in SMA Negeri 20 Pangkep

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the content of 33 empirical studies related to student self-assessment in primary and secondary education and have been published over the last decade (2009-2019) in 19 scientific journals classified in Scimago (only articles in journals with peer review system to assure their quality) in order to investigate: a) the research design (experimental, quasi-experimental, non-experimental), b) the research method (mixed method, quantitative method, qualitative method), c) the specific design (pretest-posttest etc.), d) the data collection method (questionnaire, interviews, etc.). According to the main findings most studies use non-experimental design, followed by experimental and quasi-experimental design. With regard to research methods quantitative method is used in all research designs, while qualitative and mixed method are used to a lesser degree and only in experimental and non-experimental design. Regarding the specific design, most experimental and quasi- experimental studies adopt a "pretest-posttest" design, while non-experimental studies follow mainly descriptive design. Finally, concerning the data collection methods, questionnaire is the most common method for all research designs, as opposed to other methods, such as interview or the combination of questionnaire and interview. Therefore, there is a need to investigate the issue of student self-assessment using experimental or quasi-experimental research design where the mixed methodological approach will be adopted and data collection will be carried out using various research tools such as the interview and the questionnaire in order to triangulate the results.

This study aims to investigate EFL students’ difficulties in writing a research proposal by using Swales’ Create-A-Research-Space (cars) model and try to find out the students’ problems. This study was used as a qualitative research design. The subject of this study are twenty students and the instrument are students writing the research proposal, interview for the students and lecturer. The result of this research is the students’ problem in writing for their introduction for move 1 (75%) and for move 2 (55%), there are 4 (four) students having problems how to face the criteria for inclusion and exclusion from review was not justified and the literature review was not topic focused. Related to methodology, the choice of paradigm, methodology, data collection, and data analysis was not justified to answer the research questions (20%). Next, a detailed description of the research procedures, as well as an explanation of the reason for doing so, was not provided (15%). Continued to the detailed description of procedures and materials was not provided to allow for replication (15%). Moreover, a component of methodologies such as the research design, research site, and participants, data collection techniques, and data analysis is not included (15%). The last, for the references, were all student writing research proposals less to completed the way how to write a reference, such as uncompleted detailed related to sources. The biggest problem related to the students' ability to write a research proposal for the introduction. Some students face some difficulties in how to compose the background well, including introducing and reviewing items of previous research in the area, how to find a gap in the previous research and student's fewer references to quote.
