The successful development of a territory as a tourist destination is not always associated with a variety of recreational resources. In the modern conditions of informatization, of great importance is a favorable image of the territory, which helps to promote the created recreational center. Our study aims to identify the factors that have contributed to the recreational development of the Finnish city of Kouvola, which, in the absence of significant recreational facilities, is one of the most important tourist destinations in southeastern Finland. We have analyzed the features of the economic and geographical position of the city, and identified the most attractive objects of tourist interest based on the content analysis of reviews about Kouvola on tourist Internet portals. We have also examined how careful attitude to the industrial history of the city made it possible to create new attractive recreational objects. The following factors have been found among those making Kouvola attractive for tourists: the border position of the city and its location at the intersection of important transport routes, as well as the presence of interesting recreational facilities in the adjacent territories and large shopping centers in the city itself. Consequently, Kouvola is used as an ‘entry point’ into adjacent territories with richer recreational potential. At the same time, the most important factor in the tourism development of Kouvola is no t the position near the border, but the location on the way of tourist flows. On the other hand, the tourist infrastructure created in the city contributes to the fact that tourists also use it as a point of main stay. Analysis of the recreational development experience of such places can be applied for planning tourism development of geographically similar territories.

Historic centers have become first-line tourist destinations. In order to achieve sustainable development, it is essential to get to know the opinions of the host community on the impact of tourism, the positives, as well as the negatives. This paper aims to understand the residents’ opinions and perceptions of destinations as the historic cities. This research looks into the residents’ opinions on the impact of tourism in the historic city of Toledo, Spain. The results of a quantitative survey among 442 residents in the city of Toledo are presented. The study is a revision of the literature and analysis and explanation of an empiric study’s results. Descriptive statistics have been used, as well as factor analysis and non-parametric tests to analyze data. The main results point out that residents have a positive vision of tourism development, rather than negative. The economic importance of tourism and its ability to create jobs stand out. However, they also think that the historic center is being turned into a museum for tourists. Analyzing their opinions according to certain demographic and socioeconomic characteristics, some major differences come up, such as that the inhabitants of residential areas have a more positive opinion than those who live in the historic center. Understanding the perspective of the residents can help the managers and planners of the tourism in the city to play down the potential negative impact of tourism and to achieve support from the host community in regards to tourism.

Medan City is currently designated as one of the 20 national tourism destinations that implement Sustainable Tourism Development (STD) in Indonesia. The commitment to implement STD nationally is marked by the signing of the text of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of 20 Regional Heads who are committed to implementing STD together with the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism. Furthermore, under the supervision of the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Tourism, 20 existing Regencies / Cities made various improvements in each region so that they were finally eligible for STD certification from the STD international certification body. Medan City itself, through the Medan City Tourism Office, related to the implementation of the STD, has established a number of leading tourism destinations. It is hoped that in the future, Medan City will have tourist destinations that have received STD certification. This research was conducted to formulate a model of implementing sustainable tourism development in Medan with a total sample of 220 people spread over 11 leading tourist destinations in the city of Medan, samples were taken with a purposive random sampling technique. The research variables used include; sustainable management, socio-cultural benefits, economic benefits for the surrounding community, environmental benefits and the application of sustainable tourism. Data analysis was carried out with a structural model of the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the help of Amos 22 software. The results showed that the management aspects, economic aspects, socio-cultural aspects of environmental aspects, and the impact of tourism, directly and indirectly, have a positive effect on the implementation of sustainable tourism in the city of Medan.

City branding has become a massive effort by many cities as tourist destinations to promote the city nationally and internationally. Ambon City, the Capital of Maluku Province, known as the “City of Music,” and the City of Solo with “Solo the Spirit of Java,” are examples of city branding. In North Maluku Province, Ternate City has a long history of colonialism, international trade, and a developing city. Unfortunately, inconsistencies still exist in how the city should be known. This study aims to identify and define city branding by using the constructivist grounded theory method. The themes identified were quality tourism, economic value, community engagement, stakeholder consensus, legendary ancient leadership, and historic and renowned commodity. Six main themes are theoretically based on how to branding Ternate city and involving seven important participants. These themes are then used to define the branding of Ternate City. Current research offers a testable model to brand a place or city based on the identified subjects. At the same time, potential future studies are also suggested regarding the weaknesses of the current study.

ABSTRACTImogiri area is an area that has an important role in the history of the city of Yogyakarta. Imogiri is a Saujana Heritage Area because it has the potential of nature heritage and cultural heritage. Through several studies entering into strategic areas to get priority in the development, especially the development of heritage tourism. The purpose of this study is to find tourist destinations in Imogiri the most popular and the motivation of tourist visits. The study used qualitative methods with data collection through online surveys in the form of questionnaires. From the results of the analysis found that the most popular destination by visitors is a natural tourist attractions, while the main motivation of the visit is the desire of tourists to perform recreational activities. The results of this study can be useful in determining the priority and space program required in the development of heritage tourism in Imogiri Area.Keywords: Cultural Landscape, Imogiri, Heritage Tourism, Yogyakarta. ABSTRAKKawasan Imogiri adalah sebuah kawasan yang memiliki peran penting dalam perjalanan sejarah Kota Yogyakarta. Melalui beberapa kajian masuk dalam kawasan strategis sehingga mendapat prioritas dalam pengembangannya, khususnya pengembangan pariwisata pusaka. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menemukan destinasi wisata di Imogiri yang paling banyak diminati serta motivasi kunjungan wisatawan. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui survei online dalam bentuk kuesioner. Dari hasil analisis ditemukan bahwa destinasi yang paling diminati oleh pengunjung adalah tempat wisata alam, sedangkan motivasi kunjungan yang utama adalah keinginan wisatawan untuk melakukan kegiatan rekreasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini bermanfaat dalam menentukan prioritas serta merumuskan program ruang yang diperlukan dalam pengembangan pariwisata pusaka di Kawasan Imogiri.Kata Kunci: Imogiri, Pariwisata Pusaka, Pusaka Saujana, Yogyakarta

This study aims to make a description of attractions to tourist destinations in North Sumatra. Sharia area is in the object of observation in West Sumatra province. The research subject is a tourist destination in the city. Sharia description analysis method (comparing between reality and expectations) the potential of sharia tourism is carried out through, a tourism manager survey of tourists on visits to tourism sites, and local government. This research was conducted by spreading, questionnaire, interview, and observation. The method of analyzing of data-fired different methods than Levene’s test for equality of SPSS variances and software. The result of the research proved that all tourists’ variables attraction, amanitas, accessibility and ancillary shows of the values were lower than the hope Levene’s Test for equality of variances proved which are considerable.

Abstrak: Arus globalisasi saat ini tidak dapat dipungkiri terdapat fasilitas-fasilitas bagus dan modern yang sangat diminati oleh khalayak. Sehingga mampu menggeser segala sesuatu yang dianggap ketinggalan jaman dengan lebih memilih dan mengedepankan hal-hal yang dianggap lebih kekinian. Misalnya di daerah-daerah yang saat ini berlomba-lomba membangun pariwisata yang menghadirkan unsur modern dengan segala fasilitas kekinian yang dapat dinikmati oleh para wisatawan. Pembangunan pariwisata sangat menjadi prioritas utama sebagai upaya untuk kemajuan dan peningkatan terhadap potensi yang dimiliki, baik dari masyarakat maupun daerah. Hadirnya destinasi wisata modern yang juga mengusung pasar tradisional papringan dengan memasukkan budaya Jawa sebagai upaya untuk melestarikan serta mengenalkan kepada para pengunjung, menjadi tujuan utama masyarakat yang ada di Desa Jambu. Segala wujud tindakan yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat menurut Parson memiliki tujuan yang ingin dicapai, sehingga dengan memanfaatkan dan mengembangkan segala potensi yang dimiliki, kini desa tersebut menjadi destinasi wisata yang banyak dikunjungi oleh wisatawan baik dari dalam maupun luar kota. Adanya pasar tradisiona,l juga memberikan kesempatan bagi para wanita yang notabennya adalah ibu rumah tangga untuk bisa lebih mandiri dalam memenuhi kebutuhan keluarga. Pada era modernisasi saat ini dianggap memberikan kemudahan untuk dapat mempromosikan segala keunikan dan keistimewaan yang dimiliki oleh desa wisata tersebut. So as to be able to shift everything that is considered outdated by preferring and prioritizing things that are considered more contemporary. For example in areas that are currently competing to build a tourism business that presents a modern element with all the current facilities that can be enjoyed by tourists. Tourism development is a top priority as an effort to progress and increase the potential of the community and region. The presence of modern tourist destinations that carry Papringan traditional markets by incorporating Javanese culture as an effort to preserve and introduce to visitors, became the main destination of activists in Jambu Village. All forms of actions taken by the community according to Parson have goals to be achieved. So that by utilizing and developing all the potential that is owned, the village has now become a tourist destination that is visited by many tourists both from within and outside the city. The existence of traditional markets also provides opportunities for women who incidentally are housewives to be more independent in meeting family needs. In the current era of modernization, it is considered to be easy to be able to promote all the uniqueness and privileges that are owned by the tourist village. Tourism has turned out to be one of the most affected areas of socioeconomic activity due to the spread of the pandemic. Restrictions on the movement of citizens practically brought down international tourism and caused serious damage to the national economies of those countries in which income from tourism activities made a significant contribution to the country's GDP. Efforts to create sustainable tourism systems have been destroyed, and the theory of sustainable tourism development itself needs to be updated. The relevance of this study is due to the fact that the tourism industry, which is experiencing the deepest decline in the history of tourism development, should receive new tools necessary for its restoration and further sustainable development. The study used monographic, statistical, comparative and other methods of scientific research, which made it possible to identify and formulate the author's proposals to expand the concept of sustainable tourism development. It is quite obvious that after the pandemic, world tourism will recover, but this will be a period of tourism development completely different from the previous stages. In the course of the research, the features of tourism development in the context of the socalled new reality were investigated. It is shown that the safety of tourism in terms of compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards has become one of the important parameters in assessing the competitiveness of tourist destinations. As a result of the study, a proposal was formulated and substantiated that the concept of sustainable tourism development, in addition to economic, environmental and social components, must be supplemented with an information and communication component, as the most important attribute of the global digitalization of society.

The history of the city of Barnaul began in 1730 with the decision to build a silver smelter. Barnaul, the city with a rich history, has a large number of cultural and historical sites and is a promising tourist center of the region. Every year the number of visitors and tourists visiting the city, increases. Cultural - educational, educational, business, congress - exhibition kinds of tourism have developed widely. The implementation of the project of the creating the tourist and recreational cluster "Barnaul – the mining city" with the purpose of improving the historical part of the city is taking place at an active pace. There are number of conditions is necessary for realizing the tourist and recreational functions of the territory, among them – a high level of infrastructure development. The existing problems in the field of regional infrastructure development causes reducing in the tourist flow to the destination. The article presents the author's definition of the term of "tourist infrastructure", which is presented as part of the territorially recreational system. The article is focused on the market of accommodation for tourists. The author provides a comprehensive analysis of the hotel services market in Barnaul, identifies and structures problems in the field of activity of accommodation

The article emphasizes the importance of tourism development as a growth point for many Russian regions, with special attention paid to the problems with the tourist infrastructure of these regions, which have significant potential. The authors of the work carried out a large-scale study of consumer preferences in the field of tourist services based on the developed toolkit, which includes questions about the directions and frequency of travel, the nature and amount of purchases made in them, their purpose and addressees. The article contains the results of the consumer practices study in the field of tourism, including the specifics of shopping in travel and shopping tourism by residents of the city of Saratov and the Saratov region.

AbstractSeveral kampong in the Surabaya city are currently used as tourist destinations, by offering the uniqueness of the kampong. One of the kampong that has succeeded in becoming a tourist destination is Kampung Maspati, which is located in the city center. The ancientness of the kampong is offered to tourists so they are interested in visiting it. One of the weaknesses, Kampung Maspati does not have a historical narrative that explains the development of the kampong from the past until now. The Department of History, Faculty of Humanties, Universitas Airlangga organizes community service activities to assist in writing village history, o increase the promotion of kampong tourism. This paper was written in reference to these activities. The methods used to explain are field work, in-depth interviews, the use of library collections, and assitances. The findings obtained from these activities are that the understanding of the people of Kampung Maspati on the history of the kampung is still not good, so that continuous assistance is needed. This kind of activities also needs to be extended to others kampong because currently there are still many historic kampong in the Surabaya city that do not yet have historical narratives. Salah satu kampung yang berhasil menjadi tujuan wisata adalah Kampung Maspati yang terletak di pusat kota. Kekunoan kampung ditawarkan kepada wisatawan sehingga mereka tertarik untuk mengunjunginya. Salah satu kelemahan, Kampung Maspati tidak memiliki narasi sejarah yang menjelaskan perkembangan kampung sejak dulu sampai sekarang. Departemen Ilmu Sejarah Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Airlangga menyelengarakan  kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat pendampingan menulis sejarah kampung, untuk meningkatkan promosi wisata kampung. Makalah ini ditulis mengacu kepada  kegiatan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan adalah kerja lapangan, wawancara mendalam,  penggunaan koleksi pustaka, dan pendampingan.Temuan yang diperolah dari kegiatan tersebut bahwa pemahaman masyarakat Kampung Maspati terhadap sejarah kampung masih kurang sehingga perlu dilakukan pendampingan secara berkesinambungan. Kegiatan semacam ini juga perlu diperluas ke kampung lain karena saat ini masih banyak kampung bersejarah di Kota Surabaya yang belum memiliki narasi sejarah. Kegiatan itu perlu dilakukan agar promosi wisata kampung bisa ditingkatkan.Kata kunci: wisata kampung, promosi, Maspati, Surabaya
