Online learning is a learning via internet without meeting face-to-face between teachers and students. This online learning system is relatively new, therefore teachers and students should adapt quickly. This study aims to determine the online Arabic learning system during the COVID-19 pandemic at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) 1 Surakarta. Researcher used a qualitative approach and observation, interview, and documentation as data collection techniques. The results described that e-learning madrasah was used as the main media for online Arabic learning at MTsN 1 Surakarta during the covid-19 pandemic, then assisted by Whatsapp and Youtube channel. The subject matter was presented in video, powerpoint, and pdf. The learning stages were divided into three: preparation, implementation (pre-activities, whilst-activities and post-activities), and evaluation stage. This online learning helps teachers to coordinate with and supervise students easily, on the other hand, it is difficult for them to monitor the students’ understanding and bad internet network make some students could not follow the learning process in time.

The aims of this study are to investigate the perceptions of two vocational high school students majoring Animation and Accounting about asynchronous online learning during pandemic and how they overcome the challenges faced. This study used qualitative exploratory research design by conducting observation, interview and documentation to get rich data of the subject under focus. Moreover, the researcher used thematic analysis to analyse the data collected by following six steps proposed by Braun et al. (2019). The findings showed that asynchronous online learning strategies seemed to not fit the participants. The students more preferred learning that is conducted synchronously which for some students is perceived as a burden as they have to deal with the problem of internet data. Other findings also indicated that students who still had problem with material given were likely to have discussion with other students as an effort to overcome one of the challenges faced.

This research is based on the problem where practical activities in the Basic Physics Practicum course can no longer be carried out optimally due to changes in the learning model from face-to-face (offline) to online (online) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to develop a virtual physics laboratory as a medium in carrying out practical activities and to analyze the feasibility of the product through the validation results of experts and the results of product trials on prospective users. This type of research is Research & Development with ADDIE development model. The subjects of this study were 12 lecturers and 47 students of the STKIP Citra Bakti science education study program. Data collection techniques using validation sheets and questionnaires. The data collection instruments are in the form of validation assessment sheets and response questionnaires of prospective users. The data from this study were analyzed qualitatively descriptive to decide the feasibility of the product being developed. The results of the research showed that the average validation score of the material expert was 4.63, the media expert was 4.41, the learning design expert was 4.30, and the linguist was 4.51. The validation results of the four validators are in the very good category. Meanwhile, the results of product trials to lecturers and students as potential users are in the very good category with an average score of 4.53 and 4.57, respectively. Based on these data, this virtual physics laboratory product with real world problems based on Ngada local wisdom is recommended to be applied to the Basic Physics Practicum course and to help students in their independent practicum activities.

AbstractThis research was conducted to see the independence of student learning in the Basic Mathematics course in participating in distance learning, especially online learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This is a quantitative-descriptive study with 85 first-year students of the Agricultural Socio-Economic Study Program of the Indonesian Catholic University, Santu Paulus Ruteng, with a focus on studying the learning independence of students who take online learning due to the Covid-19 Pandemic situation. The results showed 18.82% of students had low learning independence, while 81.18% of students had high learning independence. Furthermore, in semi-structured interviews, it was found that students initially experienced difficulties in adapting to changes in learning habits, limited learning resources in the network, and a lack of interaction between students and lecturers. This limitation encourages students to be more independent in learning, which can be seen from more than 70% of students who have set learning goals, learning strategies, being able to manage study time, and conduct self-evaluation of the learning process that has been followed. More than 80% of students determine a learning environment that supports a learning atmosphere and seek help from classmates. Keywords: independent learning, Covid-19 pandemic, distance learning.
