One of them is about the accountability of boarding schools which is rich in religious values and culture as a form of the spread of Islam. The dynamic life of boarding schools has been proven with the involvement of active participation in providing service to the community and many aspects of life that always accompany it. Interestingly, in terms of financial resources, the pesantren depends not only on the parents of the students, but also other sources of funding. The existence of this mandate, then boarding schools are definitely required to conduct financial accountability. These principles are very in line with the principles of Islamic law. It is closely related to surat Al-Baqarah verse 282 and 283 goals for the benefit of the people, i.e. If there is a transaction then write so that measurements obtained in a fair manner, not preferential treatment and is not reduced (ash-Syu'ara v. 181-184). AbstractPesantren is the oldest educational institution in Indonesia, which is also a subculture that has been fused and colored to the patterns of social life of religious affairs, nation and state in Indonesia. Over the time, many pesantrens are transforming themselves. The teaching methods, culture and even pesantren orientation are shifting together with the flow of changing times. The presence of these changes is expected to continue to address the needs of schools and the increasingly complex problems of the people. However, unlike the case of Benda Kerep Islamic Boarding School, a pesantren located at Benda Kerep Block, Argasunya Village, Harja Mukti Sub-district, Cirebon City, West Java. In the middle of the swift current of changes, this pesantren remains committed and defended the noble values and the past traditions. Changes hardly occur either in social, cultural, religious, and learning method aspects. External system changes do not change the existing education traditions and systems. Even the caregivers, using the legitimacy of the pesantren’s founders try desperately to maintain the traditions as an advantage and uniqueness.

ABSTRACT: “Maenpo” is one of the pillars of culture so as to be one of the elements forming the character society in Cianjur, West Java, besides “ngaos” and “mamaos”. “Maenpo” is one of a stream of traditional martial arts that prefer the flavor, rather than physical violence. The flavors here means toying his opponents with the power of its moves, so that the opponents became frustrated. In this article will explain how the process of “maenpo” development since the Netherlands colonial rule until the Republic of Indonesia. For answers to that question, in the article used the method of history that consists of four steps, namely: heuristics, critique, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study show that at the beginning of its development, “maenpo” grown in limited circumstances, namely the circle up (noblemen) of Sunda and Islamic boarding school. The “menak” (noblemen) of Cianjur mastered the “maenpo” not to be champions, but rather as one way of sharpening the ability it feels in understanding their relationship with God and his social environment. Also in the Islamic boarding schools’ environment, “maenpo”'s training as a means of developing the control of lust. Nevertheless, the development of “maenpo” relatively faster in the Islamic boarding schools environment compared to among the “menak” of Sunda in West Java, Indonesia.KEY WORD: Maenpo; Cianjur Regency; Sundanese Noblemen; Islamic boarding school; Cultivate a Sense. About the Authors: Agusmanon Yuniadi is a Student of Doctoral Program at the Graduate School of Humanities Studies UNPAD (Padjadjaran University) Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.
