In order to verify the conclusions made by other scholars that based on the traces of papillary ridges of fingers and hands using dermatoglyphic methods in forensics allow composing portrait of a suspect, the authors of the articled analyzed the dactylographic and dermatoglyphic characteristics contained in the accurate dactylographic profiles of the known serial killers who committed acquisitive crimes. Choice of this motive is explained by the fact that both males and females were driven by it. The subject of this research is the types of papillary fingerprint ridges, dactylographic formulas, pattern of ridges, presence or absence of symmetry of the same type of ridge on the same fingers of both hands, and delta index. Research methodology is based on the analysis of modern scientific provisions of dactyloscopy and dermatoglyphics. Considerable attention is given to the use of private scientific methods of cognition: description, comparison of characteristics of papillary fingerprint ridge patterns of serial killers. The application of these methods of cognition allowed concluding on the absence of undisputed evidence of papillary fingerprint ridge patterns of criminal nature, namely an increase in the number of arched ridges in calculating the frequency of ridges on separate fingers. This article is first to analyze not only the accumulated unique empirical material, but also presents the images for getting a fuller representation on the known serial criminals.

The object of research in the article was the correspondence of Saint Theophan with N. V. Elagin, Archpriest Nikolai Florinsky and Archpriest Dimitri Zhdanov. The subject of the correspondence is religious and moral fraternities («shtund») for Bible study, which appeared in the early XIX century in the southern regions of Ukraine and quickly increased their influence among Orthodox Christians. The research methodology is based on the complex application of traditional scientific methods: source-based, historical-logical and comparative-historical. The study was reconstructed history of editions of works by A. D. Ushinsky «a little Creed of Stundists, dismantled on the basis of Holy Scripture in the conversations of an Orthodox layman with zealots» against Stundists identified and involved in the preparation of the edition of St. Theophan the Recluse. The work of A.D. Ushinsky, written with the active participation and support of Saint Theophan, was one of the first dedicated to shtunda. The book published and analyzed in detail the doctrinal statements of the shtundists, which went in handwritten form or were distributed only orally.

The purpose of the article is to identify essential approaches to understanding informology and the practice of using «informological» terminology in disciplinary research. The research methodology is based on a set of general scientific methods of generalization, systematization and forecasting. Methodology. Research methods used: analysis of the documentary flow of publications in which the subject or object is informology or related problematic aspects, the method of analogy to find common and separate in the approaches of researchers to the essence of informology, hypothetical analysis allowed to draw conclusions about scientific consensus in among Ukrainian scientists on informology as a «science of information». The scientific novelty is to identify modern approaches to understanding informology in disciplinary research, substantiate the conclusion that there is a scientific consensus in the understanding of informology as a science of information while not presenting research that would clearly outline the substantive basis of informology and justify the list of disciplines generalizing science. Conclusions. In the domestic scientific discourse, informology is considered to be a generalizing science that covers the study of all aspects related to information and information processes. There is a scientific consensus in the disciplinary community regarding this understanding. The existence of informology as a theoretical and methodological basis in the system of scientific research is characterized by the factual absence of the representation in the scientific discourse of its subject-content bases. The considered approaches, considerations, and terminological applications related to «informology» do not highlight its role as a generalizing science for disciplines that use the information approach, do not reveal conceptual interdisciplinary theories, concepts, and models proposed on its basis within the information approach and do not present the epistemological potential of informology. Keywords: informology, information sciences, information approach, scientific consensus, terminology.

Purpose of the study. To establish the relationship between neurophysiological status and the level of efficiency in young people with bruxism.Materials and methods. Two groups of 64 and 53 subjects (males and females) aged 20–35 years old with bruxism and non-bruxers were formed according to questionnaire results and physical examination. The level of efficiency was assessed by the results of sensorimotor tracking of a moving object (the ‘Smile’ model). Spectral analysis was performed for evaluation of the baseline electroencephalograms. Microsoft Excel and Statistica 10.0 programs were used for statistical data processing.Results. The level of efficiency was statistically significantly lower in the hardest test of Smile model among the individuals with bruxism (p < 0.05). The bruxers also demonstrated a significantly lower dominant frequency and maximum amplitude of alpha-rhythm (p < 0.05), and significantly higher dominant frequency of beta2 rhythm (p < 0.05). The dominant frequency and the maximum amplitude of the alpha-rhythm are parameters corresponding to significant coefficients of the regression analysis. A negative relationship was found between the degree of error during sensorimotor tracking and the frequency and amplitude of alpha-rhythm.Conclusion. Regression models present the relationship between the level of efficiency and the alpha-rhythm severity. The regression equations make it possible to determine the functional state of the subject using an electroencephalogram.

n the second half of the 19th century – especially in the period following the introduction of the Academic Constitution of 1869, and in the 1880s and continuing until the forced closure of Theological Academies after the Revolutionary coup – the historical and liturgical research area in Russian academic science experienced a period of its formation and flourishing. The subject of the article is a comparison of approaches to the study of the worship service history and analysis of the formation of the research methodology for teaching Liturgics by professors N.V. Pokrovsky and I.A. Karabinov of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, where they taught the history of Christian worship from the 1880’s until its forced closure in 1918. Analysis and juxtapos- ing of academic courses in Liturgics allows defining the boundaries and content of the discipline in the period of its formation as well as considering the evolu- tion in research methodology and, more broadly, the formation of the Russian historical and liturgical scientific school. A comparison of the courses reveals the authors attitudes towards histori- cal sources material and its studies. Their own ideas about the provenance of various rites used in church worship characterize their views on the develop- ment of the liturgical tradition, expressing their approaches to its study and thereby form our picture of the establishment of historical Liturgics as a field of researchable knowledge.

Statistics today represent a group of scientific methods for the quantitative and qualitative investigation of variations in mass appearances. In fact, statistics present a group of methods that are used for the accumulation, analysis, presentation and interpretation of data necessary for reaching certain conclusions. Statistical analysis is divided into descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistics. The values which represent the results of an experiment, and which are the subject of observation of a certain occurrence, are called parameters and they are divided into descriptive and numerical. All numerical parameters are divided into non-continuous and continuous. The graphic presentation of the distribution of frequencies can be by poligon or histogram. The most frequently applied descriptive statistical methods are: arithmetic mean, standard deviation, standard error of arithmetic mean, variation coefficient, and variation interval.
