This article introduces the verbs, which define cognitive processes. Cognitive activity begins with sensation and perception; there are also visual, auditory and other perceptions. The object of this study is the verbs of visual perception and its representation in the verb system of the Tatar language. In the Tatar language, there function a number of verbs, verb expressions, phraseological units that reflect various nuances of visual perception. The relevance of the topic lies in the fact that the functional-semantic, structural-derivational features of the verbs of visual perception, which make up a significant part of the lexical structure of the Tatar language, have not been studied. The study of semantic and word-formation peculiarities contributes to the most complete and comprehensive analysis of the lexical composition of the Tatar language. The conclusions made during the study are important for the construction of interpretations of the verbs of vision, for the integral description of the grammar. Students and teachers of the Tatar language can use the material presented in the classroom. The article provides all the meanings and nuances of the verbs of visual perception, which especially increases the threshold of difficulty in adequate perception and learning process of this material in the course of teaching the Tatar language as a foreign language. The results can be applied to the development of linguodidactic manuals, dictionaries and reference books for effective teaching of the Tatar language.

The article states that the organization of modern production and commercial structures, changes in the political and economic life of our state contribute to the active replenishment of the Ukrainian language with the new terms of the economic sphere. It is noted that at the present stage, foreign-language borrowings take a significant place in the lexical composition of the Ukrainian literary language, because in general appearing of borrowings in terminology is a natural process common for all languages of the world. There remain actual proposals that the full development of a given terminology system is possible only under the condition the balance of national and international components is preserved. New economic terms have filled our language and at present time, this tendency is preserved. It has been found out that having a significant word-formation and lexical vocabulary, the Ukrainian language can present such subtle shades of meanings that can not be represented in other words. It has been proved that this contributes to the selection of a successful national term, therefore, it is not necessary to abuse our language with foreign-language words. An important role in the preparation of a language-competent specialist belongs to the language, in particular, to such an important its branch as terminology. It is known that terminological vocabulary plays an important role in the vocabulary of the Ukrainian literary language. It is the indicator of the development level of scientific vocabulary in society and, as a result, of science in general. Terminological vocabulary is a kind of barometer that determines the level of vocational education, since rich and branched terminology is undoubtedly one of the important indicators of the level of vocational education in the state. The vocabulary of the economic profile is that part of the vocabulary of the language, which includes the concepts denoting the names of objects, phenomena, processes of socio-economic life. It is connected with relevant sciences and spheres of economic life - management, marketing, finance, law, production, taxation, statistics, insurance, etc. To one of the main sources of the formation of modern Ukrainian economic vocabulary belong foreign language borrowings. At the same time, at the Ukrainian language professionally-oriented classes of Vinnytsia National Agrarian University, in the process of teaching economic terminology, much attention is paid to the Ukrainian terms, which determine the national specificity of the Ukrainian language, for example: funds, estimates, cost, purchase, sale, etc., to their formation and correct use in professional language. In the modern world, terminology plays an important role in people’s communicating as it is a powerful source of information. Besides, terminology is a part of the vocabulary that is extremely sensitive to external influences. The maximum number of foreign language borrowings is recorded in those areas where the closest interaction of languages and cultures occurs. This is primarily economy. Modern economic terminology is being renewed, improved according to the development and improvement of the economic sphere. The process of correlation of national and foreign-language components in the system of Ukrainian financial and economic terminology is especially felt today, when the dynamics of borrowing English-language terminology units as special names of new phenomena and concepts has become much more active. At the same time, we observe a tendency towards excessive usage of borrowings of English-speaking origin in financial and economic terminology, unjustified usage of foreign language units under the condition of existing the autochthonous correspondences with the same meaning. Therefore, the need for a professional evaluation of English term usage in the financial and economic terminology of the Ukrainian language is in time.

In order to investigate the cognitive processes involved in learning Foreign Language (FL) vocabulary, this study evaluates different methods of instruction. It demonstrates that keyword techniques are effective for receptive learning but that repetition is a superior strategy for learning to produce the foreign word. Performance is optimal when learners combine both strategies. The nature of the keyword is crucial–-whereas imageable noun keywords promote learning, verb keywords actually impede it. A theoretical analysis of the roles of phonological short-term memory, imagery, and lexical factors in FL vocabulary learning is presented.

This article studies the relevance of an historical lexical analysis to the stylistic description of Modern Hebrew texts. The examination of the lexical make-up of two distinct genres - administrative language and folksong - reveals a correlation between the social functions of the corpora and their formal characteristics. The administrative corpus reflects the lexical structure of standard Modern Hebrew. The folksong, on the other hand, is influenced by literary and ideological considerations. Consequently, it gives expression to the cultural ties with the traditional Hebrew sources by an abundant use of inherited lexicon. The findings suggest that in text-oriented cultures such as Hebrew, stylistic description can benefit from an historical analysis. Such an analysis responds to an intrinsic socio-linguistic characteristic of the language, and complements the structural stylistic analysis. Following Sarfatti (1990), the lexical analysis is based on distinctions drawn within each lexical item between three elements - root, form and meaning. Such a distinction takes account of diachronic changes in the semantic value of lexical items. It pinpoints factors characterizing the corpora’s lexical composition and enables multi-level distinctions between different types of discourse. As a result, it sheds light on one aspect of genre differentiation in the language.

В статье описаны контекстуально-ситуативные косвенные речевые акты, имеющие форму вопроса, но реализующие другие коммуникативные интенции – сообщение, согласие, побуждение, выражение эмоций. Речь идет о высказываниях с одинаковым синтаксическим строением и лексическим составом (омонимия высказываний разных коммуникативных типов), в которых наиболее ярко проявляются различительные свойства интонации. Механизмом порождения этих речевых актов является прагматическая транспозиция. The article describes contextual-situational indirect speech acts in the form of a question, but realizing other communicative intentions – message, consent, motivation, expression of emotions. We are talking about statements with the same syntactic structure and lexical composition (homonymy of statements of different communicative types), in which the distinctive properties of intonation are most clearly manifested. The mechanism for generating these speech acts is pragmatic transposition. The materials of the article can be used both for further theoretical studies of transposed speech acts (including in a comparative aspect), and for the creation of communicatively oriented textbooks on Russian as a foreign language.

This article reviews concept of metacognition, defined as: (a) knowledge about ones own cognitive activity, (b) strategies to monitor and regulate cognitive activity and behavior, and (c) subjective or metacognitive experiences which comes from some changes or temporary difficulties in cognitive functioning. While describing different conceptualizations of metacognition, its development, fields of application, relation with intelligence, and its constrictions and ambiguity, we attempt to present new and emerging metacognitive paradigm, which is, for a relatively short period, succeeded to improve, expand, and redefine wide range of theoretical and practical fields in psychology, on new and original way. How do we become conscious of our own cognitive processes? What role and significance that consciousness has, what is the functional level above thinking processes and how that level, which monitor and control cognitive activity, works. Metacognition is concept that presents, as so far, the most important insight in those human mind areas, which, although very important, remained on the margin of psychological investigations until now.
