This paper addresses the question of how traditional institutions interact with the forces of globalization to shape the economic mobility and welfare of particular groups of individuals in the new economy. We explore the role of one such traditional institution—the caste system—in shaping career choices by gender in Bombay using new survey data on school enrollment and income over the past 20 years. We find that male working-class—lower-caste—networks continue to channel boys into local language schools that lead to the traditional occupation, despite the fact that returns to nontraditional white-collar occupations rose substantially in the 1990s, suggesting the possibility of a dynamic inefficiency. In contrast, lower-caste girls, who historically had low labor market participation rates and so did not benefit from the network, are taking full advantage of the opportunities that became available in the new economy by switching rapidly to English schools.

The ability of adaptation (Adaptation) by the mother regarding the development of the pattern of child relationships in the midst of technological development can be agreed to be adequate, the goal of achieving damage to the child's future. The way mothers provide sex education (integration) to children is done through advice, messages and rules or restrictions given to children. The mother's ability to support patterns (Latency) through implanting values is hardly adequate. This is evident from the fact that there are still many children who refute the advice given by the mother.</p>

Contemporary researches have revealed that traditional institutions are very strong in governing natural resources. They possess rich pool of indigenous knowledge which is valuable to adapt extreme environmental conditions. On the other side, it is less studied about how indigenous knowledge can be used and how traditional institutions can be mobilized in planned climate change adaptation initiatives at local level. In the mean time, Mustang district has prepared climate adaptation plans for all communities and declared as the first district to have such plans. On this backdrop, this study has explored climate change, state of adaptation and role of traditional institutions impacts in Mustang. The findings of the study revealed that climate change in Mustang is at much faster pace than in other regions. Local people have practiced autonomous adaptation and used indigenous knowledge in diversifying livelihood opportunities. The traditional institution- Mukhiya and mother groups have played important role in adaptation process through good governance of critical natural resources- forest, land and water. They practiced equity in participation and benefit sharing. The planned adaptation process has initiated by formal institutions following a participatory approach. But, these adaptation plans have neither recognized the role of Mukhiya nor mentioned about the use of indigenous knowledge in adaption processes. This paper concludes that indigenous knowledge integrated with scientific knowledge; and mobilization of traditional institutions together with formal institutions can excel adaptive capacity development in efficient and more sustainable way. Thus, this paper urges for formal recognition of traditional institution and integration of indigenous knowledge in planned adaptation initiatives.

Technological developments in the era of the fourth industrial revolution are like two sides of a coin. On one hand, they open up opportunities to achieve progress and prosperity; On the other hand, machines and automation replace the role of workers with low skills. The author studied Store X, the first future store prototype in Southeast Asia using qualitative methods, which included observation, in-depth interviews, and SWOT analysis techniques. The results of the study are that X stores use a variety of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and connected digital equipment systems. The technology is beneficial for retail and consumer entrepreneurs, but whether or not to benefit workers is still a question, because the effect will be seen when the implementation of this technology extends in the next few years. Low-skilled retail workers must get training from the company, and the most important thing is to have a strong willingness to increase his capacity to remain relevant to the needs of the retail industry in the future. Only workers who master STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) well will be able to fill this new job market. Therefore, all stakeholders need to collaborate to raise the level of education and skills of these workers.
