Background: Hydration results from body fluids balance, while dehydration results from body fluids imbalance. Dehydration can result from losing too much water, not drinking enough or both of these things. There are certain job who has  special needs for fluids especially who works in hot environments.Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge, fluid intake and nutritional status with hydration status in expedition couriers.Methods: A cross-sectional design with 44 expedition couriers as the research subject. Knowledge of fluids were obtained using a questionnaire, fluid intake were obtained by interview using repeated 24-h food recall, nutritional status were obtained by using BMI and the hydration status were obtained by urine specific gravity using urinalysis reagent strips. The data was processed and analyzed using Pearson correlation test.Results: Most of the respondents had sufficient knowledge (59.1%). The average fluid intake of the respondents were 2562 mL. Most of the respondents had normal nutritional status (45.4%). Almost half of respondents has pre-dehydration (45.5%). There  were arelationship between knowledge of fluids and hydration status (p=0,0001, r=-0,514), also between fluid intake and hydration status (p=0,0001, r=-0,685). There is no relationship between nutritional status and hydration status (p=0,337, r=0,148).Conclusion: Fluid intake and hydration status on expedition couriers are still not as expected, even though expedition couriers have sufficient knowledge.

Hydration status is a condition that describes the amount of fluid in the body. If the intake of fluids from food and drinks in the project workers is not met, then it has an opportunity to cause dehydration. Declining productivity in workers can be caused by dehydration. Objectives this study to determine the relationship between physical activity, fluid intake, nutritional status and hydration status in project workers. An observational study with a cross sectional approach, the study population was project workers. The number of samples in this study were 53 respondents. The study was conducted by direct interview, measurement of body weight,height, body fat percent and urine specific gravity. Data analysis in this study used the Spearman correlation test. The age of workers ranged from 17-52 years. The average BMI score was22,417 kg / m2.The average value of PAL 2.37. The average fluid intake was 2018.30 ml. Moyority of workers have hydration status in severely dehydrated group (79.2%.) There is a relationship between physical activity (0.026), fluid intake and hydration status (0.001) but there is no relationship between nutritional status and hydration status (0.789). Abstract Context: Urine specific gravity (USG) has been used to estimate hydration status in athletes on the field, with increasing levels of hypohydration indicated by higher USG measurements (eg, greater than 1.020). Whether initial hydration status based on a urine measure is related to subsequent drinking response during exercise or athletic competition is unclear. Objective: To determine the relationship between pregame USG and the volume of fluid consumed by players in a professional basketball game. Design: Cross-sectional study. Setting: Basketball players were monitored during Summer League competition. Patients or Other Participants: Players (n  =  29) from 5 teams of the National Basketball Association agreed to participate. Main Outcome Measure(s): Pregame USG was measured for each player on 2 occasions. Athletes were given ad libitum access to fluid during each game and were unaware of the purpose of the study. Volume of fluid intake was measured for each player. To assess sweat loss, athletes were weighed in shorts before and after each game. Results: Sweat loss ranged from 1.0 to 4.6 L, with a mean sweat loss of 2.2 ± 0.8 L. Fluid intake ranged from 0.1 to 2.9 L, with a mean fluid intake of 1.0 ± 0.6 L. Pregame USG was greater than 1.020 in 52% of the urine samples collected and was not correlated with fluid volume consumed during either of the games (r  =  0.15, P  =  .48, and r  =  0.15, P  =  .52, respectively). Conclusions: Approximately half of the players began the games in a hypohydrated state, as indicated by USG. Fluid intake during the game did not compensate for poor hydration status before competition. Furthermore, sweat losses in these players during games were substantial (greater than 2 L in approximately 20 minutes of playing time). Therefore, both pregame and during-game hydration strategies, such as beverage availability and player education, should be emphasized.

<p><em>T</em><em>his research has the aim to analyze the relationship of nutritional status, knowledge, body temperature with fluid intake in pregnant women in West Jakarta. This study design used a cross sectional approach, with number of subjects 84 pregnant women in West Jakarta. Sampling using a purposive sampling method. The nutritional status of pregnant women </em><em>was</em><em> obtained based on the weight record before pregnancy. Subject knowledge and fluid intake were obtained by interview</em><em> with questionnaire. The subject's body temperature was measured with a digital thermometer. </em><em>Analysis of the relationship between nutritional status, knowledge, and body temperature with fluid intake using the Spearman test. Based on the test of the relationship of nutritional status with fluid intake, the value of p = 0</em><em>,</em><em>002 was obtained. Analysis of the relationship of knowledge with fluid intake obtained p = 0</em><em>,</em><em>022 and the relationship between body temperature and fluid intake obtained p = 0</em><em>,</em><em>089. The conclusion that can be obtained is that there is a relationship between, nutritional status, knowledge with fluid intake, and  body temperature has no relationship with fluid intake.</em></p>

The body’s water and sodium balances are tightly regulated and monitored by the brain. Few studies have explored the relationship between water and salt intake, and whether sodium intake with different levels of fluid intake leads to changes in hydration status remains unknown. The aim of the present study was to determine the patterns of water intake and hydration status among young adults with different levels of daily salt intakes. Participants’ total drinking fluids and water from food were determined by a 7-day 24-h fluid intake questionnaire for 7 days (from Day 1 to Day 7) and duplicate portion method (Day 5, Day 6 and Day 7). Urine of 24 h for 3 days (Day 5, Day 6 and Day 7) was collected and tested for the osmolality, the urine-specific gravity (USG), the concentrations of electrolytes, pH, creatinine, uric acid and the urea. The fasting blood samples for 1 day (Day 6) were collected and measured for the osmolality and the concentrations of electrolytes. The salt intakes of the participants were evaluated from the concentrations of Na of 24 h urine of 3 days (Day 5, Day 6 and Day 7). Participants were divided into four groups according to the quartile of salt intake, including the low salt intake (LS1), LS2, high salt intake (HS1) and HS2 groups. In total, 156 participants (including 80 male and 76 female young adults) completed the study. The salt intakes were 7.6, 10.9, 14.7 and 22.4 g among participants in the four groups (LS1, LS2, HS1 and HS2 groups, respectively), which differed significantly in all groups (F = 252.020; all p < 0.05). Compared to the LS1 and LS2 groups, the HS2 group had 310–381, 250–358 and 382–655 mL more amounts of water from the total water intake (TWI), total drinking fluids and water from food (all p < 0.05), respectively. Participants in the HS2 group had 384–403, 129–228 and 81–114 mL more in the water, water from dishes and staple foods, respectively, than those in the groups of LS1 and LS2 (p < 0.05). The HS2 group excreted 386–793 mL more urine than those in the groups of LS1 and LS2 (p < 0.05). However, regarding urine osmolality, the percentage of participants with optimal hydration status decreased from 41.0% in LS1 and LS2 to 25.6% in the HS2 group (p < 0.05). Participants with higher salt intake had higher TWI, total drinking fluids and water from food. Nevertheless, they had inferior hydration status. A reduction in salt intake should be encouraged among young adults to maintain optimal hydration status.

Study Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between hydration status, knowledge of hydration and the amount of fluid intake consumption during training among the soccer players. Material and Methods: Pre-training hydration status was measured by urine colour chart and Urine Specific Gravity (USG). A questionnaire on hydration knowledge was answered by the participants on the last day of training session. Pearson Correlation test was used to analyse the correlation between hydration status, knowledge of hydration and total amount of fluid intake among the participants. Results: The results showed that the participants were dehydrated during the three days of training. Sixty four percent of the participants had a satisfactory knowledge of hydration. However, the results indicated that the sweat loss was higher than fluid intake during the training. Pearson test revealed there were positive correlation between USG and urine colour (r=0.809, p<0.001) as well as urine colour and fluid intake (r = .424, p<0.05). Conclusions: In conclusion, the findings indicate the needs to increase awareness of pre training hydration status among the participants.

Gout or Gouty Arthritis is a degenerative disease. Gouty arthritis is a clinical syndrome that is caused by deposition of purine crystals in the tissues, due to levels of uric acid (hyperuricemia) in the extracellular fluid that passes through saturation. The etiology of gout arthritis included age, sex, history of medication, obesity, consumption of purine and alcohol. Aging is an important risk factor for men and women. This study uses an analytical-descriptive approach with cross-sectional design. This study was conducted to obtain a relationship between nutritional status and uric acid levels in the community in the area of ​​Al-Hidayah Islamic Boarding School, Ngawi. This research was conducted in Majasem Village, Kendal District, Ngawi Regency, starting from 7 June - 31 August 2018. The results showed that there was a relationship between nutritional status and uric acid levels in the community in the area of ​​Al-Hidayah Islamic Boarding School, Ngawi (p=0,008). Suggestions for further research are bivariate analysis based on gender, knowledge and attitude to response to diet so that other factors that influence can be seen clearly

Introduction. Chronic energy deficieny (CED) is a condition of a body characterized by low body weight and low energy stores, possibly limited physical capacity due to deprivation of food over a long period time. Ministry of Health ( Kemenkes) showed that in 2015, 305 out of 100.000 death of pregnant women is realated to malnutriotion and CED. Objective. The aim of this study is to determine the overview of pregnant women nutritional status based on mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) in Sundari Medan General Hospital. Method. The study was an observational descriptive study with a cross sectional design. The samples of this study consists of pregnant women from Sundari Medan Genaral Hospital, who had fulilled the inclusion and esclusion criteria by total sampling. Results.. Among 60 samples, the prevalance of Non-CED woman (85%) was found higher than the mild malnutrition (15%). Conclusion. Prevalance of CED pregnant women was found higher in risky age, middle educated and high income family.

The principle of the organization of prisons (Lembaga Pemasyarakatan/ LAPAS) must prioritize a humane approach so that prisoners and prisoners receive their rights. If the implementation is good, the objective of LAPAS is to carry out social reintegration, namely the restoration of the unity of life, life and livelihood of prisoners and correctional students both prisoners as individuals, social beings and God's creatures with society can be achieved. However, this organization faces obstacles, namely the problem of overcapacity. This can have implications for suboptimal and can even lead to failure to function as a correctional institution. The problem of over capacity will also have an impact on the health conditions of prisoners. Sleep conditions, eating patterns, health services that are less than the maximum due to over capacity will certainly have a negative impact on the nutritional status of prisoners. This study aims to determine the impact of Overcapacity Impacts on the Nutritional Status Level of Prisoners in Class II A Penitentiary, Sidoarjo. This type of research is a quantitative correlational analytic survey with a cross-sectional design. The number of samples was 91 inmates. The sampling technique is by random sampling. Data is collected by weighing body weight and height and comparing with ideal body weight. The results showed that the more overcapacity, the nutritional status of prisoners decreased. Room conditions can affect the provision of an unbalanced diet. Thus, that this causes the prisoners to experience malnutrition.

The First Thousand Days of Life, which is 270 days during pregnancy and 730 days in the first life of the baby, is a sensitive period because the problems that arise are permanent. The biggest problem that occurs in children is stunting (37.2%). In addition, one factor that supports the nutritional status of women of childbearing age who still experience Chronic Energy (20.8%). The best approach is to prepare the bridge and groom's nutritional status and increase knowledge about the First 1000 Days of Life. The purpose of this study is to determine the description of nutritional status of prospective brides based on knowledge about the First 1000 Days of Life. This research use qualitative method with cross sectional design with sampling accidental sampling within 1 week with result of 21 bride candidate. Result of nutritional status of bride candidate is normal (85,7%), while for knowledge about 1000 First Day of Life included in enough category (57,1%). Suggestion for the office of religious affairs is that on pre-marriage counseling is given material about the First 1000 Days of Life. Some extension materials about the motto of the card to healthy, calcium-containing foods and the suggestion to consume tablets added blood.

Abstract: The objective was to analyze the predictive power of indicators of the perception of food and nutritional insecurity comparing beneficiary and non - beneficiary families of the Bolsa Família Program, through a cross - sectional study with 150 families. Demographic, socioeconomic, food insecurity (Brazilian Food Insecurity Scale), nutritional status (Body Mass Index) and household consumption patterns were collected. The correlation between the demographic, socioeconomic, nutritional status and level of food insecurity were tested using the Pearson correlation coefficient; the association with Chi-square and ANOVA tests; and the prevalence ratio and 95% confidence intervals with Poisson Regression model. The predictive power of indicators of food insecurity was evaluated with the ROC curve. Patterns of food consumption, demographic and health characteristics were not significantly correlated with food insecurity. In the analyzes with the ROC curve, among the beneficiary families, the income derived only from the Bolsa Família and the Renda Cidadã Program with the Bolsa Família presented a better predictive power of food insecurity, covering the curve by 70%, followed by the difference between the income from wages and rent and gas (70%). The proportions of the total income of families spent on rent and gas had low predictive power (67%). Income components, mainly rent and gas spending, showed a better performance in the prediction of food insecurity among beneficiaries of Bolsa Família, and could be a complementary quantitative indicator to the Brazilian Scale of Food Insecurity.
