This paper presents the development of a digital generative design tool for residential building that integrates qualitative data from potential users of buildings. The central aim is to understand and challenge the inherent biases in the design process of architecture for mobility impaired users, whose experiences might be difficult to understand for designers who often move around and use buildings without any difficulty. Although Universal Design promotes designed environments that are more sensitized with the diverse difference of individuals, the most of design generating tools are based on empirically deducted human needs, objectifying the people or seeing them as useful in simply validating design ideas. There is a clear distance in between the real needs and wishes of wheelchair users and what architects imagine when designing. Mixed-methods – expert interview, literature review and data analysis of disability blogs – are used to collect and analyse wheelchair users’ experience. Accumulated qualitative data is, then, used as guiding input for the development of an explorative generative model that effectively produces large number of floor plans for residential architecture. The developed generative model effectively selects floor plans that correspond with challenges described by the wheelchair users. The selected floor plans become informed starting points for spatial planning, which can guide architects to produce new and unexpected design solutions that are more sensitised to wheelchair users’ experience. The application of generative design tools in early stages of design tasks can help architects to understand users’ needs and wishes, and thus challenge biased assumptions about wheelchair users’ experiences. And yet, further research needs to be conducted in order to progress the system: additional user data and new design objectives can give rise to new hypothesis and allow the system to be more precise, responding to the complex reality of disabled people in their everyday lives.

The limitations of waste management in the Cipayung Landfill (TPA) causing a buildup of garbage up to more than 30 meters. This condition has a health impact on people in Cipayung Village. This study aims to analyze the impact of waste management at Cipayung Landfill on public health in Cipayung Village, Depok City. The research is descriptive qualitative. Data obtained by purposive sampling. Data was collected by interviews, observation and documentation. Based on interviews with 30 respondents, it was found that the most common diseases were diarrhea, then other types of stomach ailments, subsequent itching on the skin and coughing. This is presumably because the environmental conditions in the form of unhealthy air and water and clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) have not become the habit of the people. The results indicated that there were no respondents who had implemented all of these criteria. In general respondents have implemented  3 criteria, namely maintaining hair hygiene, maintaining skin cleanliness, and maintaining hand hygiene. While maintaining clean water storage is the most often overlooked behavior. To minimize this health impact, improvements in waste management in Cipayung landfill are needed along with continuous socialization and education to develop PHBS habits and the importance of maintaining a clean environment.

People who either use an upper limb prosthesis and/or have used services provided by a prosthetic rehabilitation centre, hereafter called users, are yet to benefit from the fast-paced growth in academic knowledge within the field of upper limb prosthetics. Crucially over the past decade, research has acknowledged the limitations of conducting laboratory-based studies for clinical translation. This has led to an increase, albeit rather small, in trials that gather real-world user data. Multi-stakeholder collaboration is critical within such trials, especially between researchers, users, and clinicians, as well as policy makers, charity representatives, and industry specialists. This paper presents a co-creation model that enables researchers to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including users, throughout the duration of a study. This approach can lead to a transition in defining the roles of stakeholders, such as users, from participants to co-researchers. This presents a scenario whereby the boundaries between research and participation become blurred and ethical considerations may become complex. However, the time and resources that are required to conduct co-creation within academia can lead to greater impact and benefit the people that the research aims to serve.

The initial aim of the research was to develop a framework that would enable architects to look for thermoregulation methods in nature as inspiration for designing energy efficient buildings. The thermo-bio-architectural framework (ThBA) assumes designers will start with a thermal challenge in a building and then look in a systematic way for how this same issue is solved in nature. The tool is thus a contribution to architectural biomimicry in the field of building energy use. Since the ThBA was created by an architect, it was essential that the biology side of this cross-disciplinary tool was validated by experts in biology. This article describes the focus group that was conducted to assess the quality, inclusiveness, and applicability of the framework and why a focus group was selected over other possible methods such as surveys or interviews. The article first provides a brief explanation of the development of the ThBA. Given the focus here is on its validation, the qualitative data collection procedures and analysis results produced by NVivo 12 plus through thematic coding are described in detail. The results showed the ThBA was effective in bridging the two fields based on the existing thermal challenges in buildings, and was comprehensive in terms of generalising biological thermal adaptation strategies.

Abstract The purpose of this research was to better understand the beliefs and practices that the residents of Puerto Rico have regarding cockfighting, including their perception of the recently passed prohibition against nonhuman animal fighting on the island. It had an exploratory descriptive design consisting of three phases, where the qualitative data obtained from phase one would guide the process of identifying variables that could be measured. In the second phase, an instrument was developed, and in the third, it was administered. Most of the participants agreed with the prohibition of cockfighting in Puerto Rico and that it was necessary. The data showed that there is a disconnect between what the federal government of the United States legislated, what the local government and agencies that were supposed to enforce the prohibition did with the legislation, and what the people directly affected by the legislation received for education and guidance.

The development of children's songs in Indonesia experienced different dynamics from year to year. The 90's is the peak where the children's song gets more attention from the people of Indonesia. But the condition is different from the state of the child's song now. There are not many singers-singers who appear on television and reduced the appropriate songs for children who are rich in educational and nationalist messages. This is because there are not many record labels that provide a container for the little singers and the assumption that the child's song is less salable. The object of this research is Naura little singer album with the topic of promotion strategy and socialization of children song. This study aims to examine the promotion mix strategy of Naura's little singer album and to know the public response to Naura's little singer album. The approach taken in this research is qualitative method with additional data as complement of quantitative data in the form of presentation of percentage. Qualitative data were obtained from 3 resource persons and qualitative data were obtained from 34 respondents who were followers Instagram Naura. The results obtained, Naura's management uses all promotional mix tools, including advertising, sales promotion, publicity, individual sales and direct marketing. While the main promotional tool used is direct marketing that is focused on the use of social media. This is because the majority of Naura's fans are children and adolescents who have social media accounts.

Currently, Nigeria’s security sector needs effective policing considering the spate of insecurity and frustrated relationship between the citizens and the police. Consequently, some officers are seen as dishonest and agents of complicity. Unlike most parts of the world where the people love, support the police, Nigeria still records threats to police-public relations owing to the attitudes of some officers who tarnish the image of the security agency through uncivilised, inhuman and unlawful acts while on duty and beyond. With qualitative data, this paper explores how training and people-oriented security education can enhance effective policing for a more secure Nigeria. This paper argues that police effectiveness should no longer be hinged only on equipping officers for counter-terrorism or establishment of special units to eradicate organised crime, but also on training them on weekly/monthly basis to respond to rapidly emerging threats to national security and trainings on enhancing collaborative police-public relations.

The purpose of this study is to explore and analyze the variables that determine the success of implementing dynamic governance in West Java. This research was conducted qualitatively using a literature review research design. The data obtained were then analyzed following the steps of qualitative data analysis by Miles, Huberman & Saldana. The results of this study reveal that there are at least four elements that contribute significantly to the success of dynamic governance in West Java, namely the typical pentahelix collaboration, creative funding, digital government, and the Jabar Open Data program. The implications of this study confirm two things. First, program forms in dynamic governance are based on problems in the local environment, so that each region has a different type of program. It's just that in principle the program must be adaptive and accommodating. Second, the design of dynamic governance is the most reliable design for the needs and conditions of the people of West Java today. It could be that the design of agile governance will be adopted by the West Java Provincial Government when dynamic governance is deemed irrelevant and unsolvable.

Abstract This article presents euphemisms as linguistic tools for the expression of politeness in a local language, Kempo speech of the Manggarai language, in West Flores, Indonesia. The universal use of euphemisms indcates that speakers of languages across the world very much care about politeness as a means to maintain social relationships. Euphemisms are defined as the use of soft or mild words to replace offensive words for the purpose of politeness. They are used during interactions, to ensure that social relationships are maintained. The qualitative data show that Kempo ethnic people use various types of mild words to prevent their crops being damaged by certain animals; to maintain interactions by not mentioning certain human body parts; to replace the names of certain professions that are not polite to mention during interactions; and to avoid mentioning unworthy words for certain activities, events, and conditions. These euphemisms are used to maintain politeness in any interaction or communication. The euphemisms identified are morphologically and syntactically formed. It is interesting that some euphemisms are in the form of words bearing lexical meanings, while others have idiomatic meanings. Meanwhile, some euphemisms are in phrase and clause forms that bear idiomatic meanings. These findings indicate that the people of Kempo ethnicity very much care about how to use language properly to maintain politeness and social relationships.

The purpose of this research is to uncover the inherent values contained in the marriage of Sutasoma, which focuses on the backdrop of Sutasoma's resistance to his father, the king of Parusadha, and reveals the values contained in the The story. The study used an interpretive approach to cultural studies from the qualitative data sources in the text and translations. The foundation of the theory used to analyze data is the theory of power of knowledge and hegemony. With this approach and theory the study found that the reasons and ways of Prince Sutasoma to fight the attitude and behavior of King Purusadha were very arrogant and authoritarian towards the people and the Ministers and The feeders are (1) straightening and redefining the king to return to the path of righteousness (2) performing obligations and responsibilities as a wise prince who must favor his people, (3) make the King aware of the meaning and Responsibility to be leaders, and (4) to commit partiality towards the weak, (5) The alignment of the meaning and leadership of a King (6) restores the authority of a king. The opponents performed by Sutasoma were not violent or physical, but through ideas and initiatives that were delivered subtly so as to evoke a sense of compassion and consciousness of King Parusadha How to be a king Wise. Keywords: resistance, hegemony, leadership value, roles and responsibilities
