Companies looking for employees, the most important thing is not hard skills, but soft skills, this is because 80 percent of people are successful because of soft skills. In this case, students from the State Vocational School (SMK) in Banda Aceh need to develop good soft skills since grade X. Special attention and synergy between school principals as leaders, teachers and school officers as teachers and mentors need to be done properly. Implementation in a consistent and integrated manner in a sustainable manner will produce graduates and human resources who are superior and skilled, and graduates who are able to meet the needs of the business world and industry.

The university is one of the producers of prospective workers who have an important influence in determining the success of the workforce in pursuing their career path. The university is expected to be able to produce qualified workforce candidates, ready to use, and have hard skills and soft skills. This study aims to analyze the learning methods of the Student Soft Skill Development (S3D) program conducted at Faculty of Industrial Technology, Islamic University of Indonesia. S3D is one of the programs implemented with the aim of developing soft skills possessed by students. This study uses the literature review method where the researcher reads, understands, and compares literature from various sources with the object under study. The conclusion of this research is S3D learning method is in accordance with the theory and the results of other studies regarding soft skills education.

The increasingly fierce competition of human resources forced universities to prepare graduates who had to have hard skills and soft skills. To reduce unemployment, lack of confidence, lack of understanding of scientific actualization, and other obstacles faced by college graduates, one of the programs implemented at UTY is providing entrepreneurial provisions. Entrepreneurship Development Program (PPK) through various stages is a relationship among students, entrepreneurship, business world and UTY. Support and commitment to entrepreneurship development at UTY are developed through the Field of Entrepreneurship including creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship by providing incubation support to grow and equip students in implementing the business world and entrepreneurial spirit.

Introduction: Student Centered Learning (SCL) is an effective method to develop student's soft skills and hard skills which are very important to support their successful carrier later. This research was conducted to identify the differences of developed soft skills between students who learn with PBL method and lecturing method. Methods: Descriptive comparative method was used in this study. The samples consisted of 15 students who learned with PBL method and 15 students who learned with lecturing method. The sample for this research was selected by random sampling method. Results: The result showed that the average of student's soft skills score in PBL method was 122.63, while student's soft skills score in lecturing method was 116.27. Discussion & Conclusion: There was significant difference of student's soft skills in PBL method and lecturing method (p value = 0.038; α = 0.05). This study recommends nursing program management, faculty of medicine at the University of Syiah Kuala keeps PBL method running and develops other methods which facilitate hard skills and soft skills are development. Keywords: nursing students, soft skill, PBL

This article focuses on the demand for skills of highly qualified scientific and technical professionals (engineers and researchers) in robotics, on both a global and national level. Information is collected using the text-mining of open-access vacancies for understanding the global trends and in-depth interviews with experts for a more detailed study of national trends. The study explores the combination of hard and soft skills, as well as interdisciplinary skills. Soft skill requirements play an important role in the demanded skill set of the specialist, but the claims for hard skills (including digital) are not becoming less strict. Programming and the knowledge of specialized software packages are the most important skills, but must be combined with practical skills (assembly, welding, soldering). The broad range of application areas for robotic systems creates demand for new multidisciplinary skills (knowledge of artificial intelligence, new materials, and biology). Rapid technological development underlines the growing importance of soft skills, such as communication skills, self-motivation, and a willingness to learn. Lists of the most demanded skills in different countries principally coincide. Results can be applied for developing policies aimed at eliminating the skill gap in prospective technological areas.

Traveling not only creates fun for tourists. Tourism activities are believed to also improving human resources ability. It is a significant aspect related to human resource capacity that soft skills ownership which can be trained to modern travellers through ecotourism activities. This descriptive qualitative study describes soft skills trained to tourists from among younger generation in ecotourism destinations. Statement of the problem in this research is what is the relevance between ecotourism and soft skill ownership? This study identifies soft skills trained in ecotourism activities that are interpersonal skills characterized by communication skills, like others, have empathy and concern, warm, forgiving, open, adaptive and self-control abilities. The interpersonal skills that are part of this soft skill are believed to be important and will help younger generation to succeed in living their lives.

The study aims to describe and to know the profile of soft skills and hard skills of the college students to enter the work field. The type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The population of this research is the students of padang state university family welfare education study program totally 49 people. The sampling technique is total sampling that taking the entire population. The technique of collecting data is by transferring a questionnaire (Questionnaire) using Likert scale that has been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed through descriptive analysis with the categorization method. The results of the study is the soft skills and hard skills profile of college students to enter the work field that included in high category are indicators of work ethics, collaboration, discipline, related to norms and the medium category are indicators of speaking skills and confidence.

Soft skills are social and emotional intelligences that facilitate harmonious interpersonal interactions. Soft skills enable physicians to understand and build rapport with patients. Soft skills are increasingly considered crucial physician qualities within surgical specialties, including ophthalmology. Although avenues exist for general soft skill development, medical students may find challenges directing their development to ophthalmic settings due to medical curricula’s limited ophthalmology exposure. This perspective commentary discusses resources to aid ophthalmic soft skill development. Lectures provide foundational knowledge. Electives and volunteering provide opportunities to practice soft skills. Electives and mentorship direct soft skills towards desired disciplines. Studying and participating in research that utilizes patient-centred outcomes improves current and future care.

The purpose of this article is to study possible directions and ways of developing human resources for the transition to digital economy using the potential of new technological solutions. The paper demonstrates the relationship of the Fourth industrial revolution and changes in the development of human resources, identifies key areas of the impact of digitalization processes on human resources, including the transformation of the structure of demand in the labor market changing the format of employment of workers and the emergence of new models of work changing the content of work, as well as changing the ratio of the importance of hard skills and soft skills. With this in mind, the important components of developing human resources in digital economy are identified, the emphasis is placed on the role of the education system in this process, covering the following aspects: creating a system of new professions, competencies and standards in correspondence with appropriate educational programs; incorporating innovative educational technologies into the educational process in order to develop a set of soft skills; creating a “smart” education system using intelligent ICT solutions affecting the content and process components of learning as key components of developing human resources. The paper determines the feasibility of implementing the proposed solutions on the basis of the partnership between educational institutions, public authorities and business.

The issue of transversal or soft skill development is an important challenge for educational institutions preparing prospective employees for successful integration in the modern global labour market. The implementation of content and language integrated learning (CLIL) provides ample opportunities for the development of soft skills, apart from in-depth learning of the subject and development of language competences. The study presents some insights gained during the in-service training courses for secondary school teachers, while implementing the European Social Fund supported project “Synergy of Content and Foreign Language” at the Institute of Foreign Languages of Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania, with regard to possibilities to better prepare graduates for social integration through efficient implementation of CLIL at school. Among other objectives, the project aimed at professional development of secondary school subject teachers by raising their awareness of CLIL methodology, including transversal skill development. The paper presents investigation into teacher perception of the importance of soft skills and their self-evaluation of practice of soft skill integration into their subject teaching. The issue of transversal skill development is discussed as an integral constituent of project activities, an added value and/or the synergic effect which may be achieved while implementing CLIL at school. The study concludes that CLIL implementation requires the whole school policy, new approach to subject and language teacher in-service training and presents some recommendations for educational policy developers.

Abstract. Unemployment of vocational high school graduates consists of two categories, the graduates who never been in work and who had been in work as a contract workers and then terminated. More than 63 percent of the graduates who have ever been as a contract workers did not work match with their competence, as a result when the contract agreement expired the workers did not been assigned as permanent workers. In order to get other jobs after termination,  the workers need to upgrade their competence or to retool with skills other than the skills the workers acquired from vocational school, in order to fit well with the need of workers in industry. Besides the functional skill needed for handling operational works, the terminated contract workers need to upgrade their soft skill suitable for the future working environment, that is learning to work in a group consisting of many communities to solve very complex problem as the characteristic of jobs in the industry 4.0, besides other component of soft skills such as honesty, discipline, attitude, commitment to work, communication skill, and open for change.
