This paper aimed to investigate the students’ perspectives toward the use of Quizizz as an online assessment tool for English teaching and learning, especially on a formative one. The research design of this study was descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the study were 20 students of Dynamic English Course. The data was collected by asking the students to fill the questionnaire. The data analysis was implementing the Likert Scale. The result of the study showed positive perspectives of the students toward the use of Quizizz. In conclusion, the students strongly agreed that Quizizz has an attractive display which is interesting and fun, students can’t cheat during the test, Quizizz creates a competitive atmosphere in the classroom, and Quizizz is better than the offline traditional test.

Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) is a study of language which views language as two characteristics, systemic and functional. With using SFL, the researchers try to analyze the tale’s story of Sabai Nan Aluih. The research aim is to identify the interpersonal meaning realized in that story and to reveal the speech function of language use in that story. The research design of this analysis is descriptive qualitative research. The object of this research is the interpersonal meaning analysis of clauses as exchange in the tale of Sabai Nan Aluih. The data of this research is the clauses as exchange in the story of Sabai Nan Aluih. The source of data which is used in this research is the documentation of the data research paper. The researchers use document analysis from the story of Sabai Nan Aluih as collecting data. The data is analyzed by using description method. In the interpersonal analysis, declarative mood dominates almost the story, it is about 91 %. And, the data analysis of speech function is found in the story of Sabai Nan Aluih, statement, question and command, in where statement is domination from the story about 94%. Writing skill is one of the skills that is difficult to learn because we have to know the correct sentence composition and also what we hear must be in accordance with what we write and therefore this skill is very important to learn. The objective of the research is to identify the sudents’ responses toward think talk write (TTW) strategy in teacihng writing skill. The research used descriptive qualitative design. The respondents of this research were eighth grade students of SMP Pasundan 1 Cimahi. The instrument of this research was questionnaire. The result of data analysis shows that students gave positive responses toward TTW strategy. The respondents agree that TTW strategy can increase students’ motivation, TTW Strategy can help students in improving their writing skill and TTW strategy can make teaching and learning process interesting. Keywords:  Writing, Think Talk Write (TTW) Strategy, Student’s Responses

This research aims to figure out the types of personification used in one of the famous albums namely Michael Jackson's Thriller and Invincible. The sources of data were 19 songs taken from Thriller and Invincible albums by Michael Jackson and the lyrics of the songs. The research design used was descriptive qualitative research with documentation analysis as the technique of data collection. The result showed that there were 65 personification expressions found in the albums. Those 65 personifications were categorized into four types of personification as proposed by Dorst et al. (2011) namely: conventionalized personification (33 expressions), novel personification (20 expressions), default personification (12 expressions), and personification-with-metonymy (0 expressions). The idea of conventionalized personification presents in the lyrics is to dig out the beauty and tranquility of nature to life. It also might address giving an object or animal-human characteristics to create interesting imagery to the ELT Students. Also, these songs are assumed as one of the various English materials in language teaching in the future since it has no sarcasm and motivating contexts throughout the lyrics themselves.

The objective of this study is to describe teaching and learning poetry meaning activities of Buya Hamka by using jigsaw technique in STKIP PGRI Pasuruan. This study focused on the descriptive qualitative research design. The results of the observation show that the teaching and learning activities by using jigsaw technique run effectively and efficiently. It enables the students get a lot of knowledge and perspective of Buya Hamka poem from their interaction process. They discuss, share, and contribute knowledge each other with the teacher’s facilitations. As the result, they get a lot of information of Buya Hamka poem meaning from their home and expert groups.

<p class="AbstractText">Translating comic is different from other different text. Most of the text that is used in the comic is dialogue or spoken language that usually can be found in the subtitle of the film. Analyzing the accurateness of the translation text can be analyzed by using Metafunction approach especially ideational analysis. In translating text into target text, not all meaning is transferring into target text. It can influence the message that is brought by the source text into target text. Through ideational analysis approach it can be analyzed although not all the meaning is transferred into target text. This becomes the reason of taking this case as an object of this research.</p><p class="AbstractText">The aims of this research are to know the meaning realization in ideational analysis approach, and to explain the impact of ideational shifting toward the equivalence of translation in target text. The method of this research uses descriptive qualitative since the data and the analysis are in the form of sentence and description. The data took from Donald Duck’s Comic and its translation version. The technique used in this research is content analysis. This research also applies criterion-based sampling that is used only to get theoretically generalization.</p><p class="AbstractText">Since this research is hoped to give significant contribution to student of English Teaching and Learning in learning ideational analysis, the function of this research is to explain the impact of ideational shifting toward the equivalence of translation in target text. Thus, this research not only can be learning material for analyzing ideational in specific text, but also in learning translation.</p>

In teaching, almost all schools use textbooks. In teaching, the schools give the textbooks to students as the medium of teaching. The textbooks do not only include lessons and practices, but they also include texts and even various text types. The text types are given to the students as medium of practicing the lessons that the students focusing. Halliday                    (1989:12) states context consists of three aspects, namely field, tenor and mode. The objective of this study is to reason for the various text types are realized in the textbooks of the first Grade of State Islamic School. Donal ( 2010: 29) states that qualitative research is a study that aims to understand a phenomenon that focuses on the total picture. Research design in this study was done by descriptive qualitative research. Data analysis in this research is there are 19 text types used in the textbooks of the first Grade of State Islamic School. The technique for collecting data is observation which observesthe reason for the use of the text types in the textbooks and then analyzed the reason for the use of the text types in the textbooks by using Miles, Huberman and Saldana model ( 2014: 31) with three steps of data analysis such as abbreviating data, presenting data and picturing and proving conclusion. The findings show that the reason for the use of the text types in the textbooks of the first Grade of State Islamic School is based on the three aspects of context, namely field, tenor and mode. Keywords: Texts, Text Types, Systemic Linguistic,Textbooks

This research did from the low ability phenomena of mathematical communication of SMP in Purwakarta. The low skill ability of mathematical communication can be seen from the lack of students in completing the test of mathematical communication form to provided in the first research, the purpose of this research was to examined the improvement of CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) skill with traditional learning and the methodology of this research using quasi-experimental method which consist of two classes. The first is experiment class treated using CTL and the second is control class treated traditional learning. The population of the research taken was students of SMP Negeri 1 Babakan Cikao and a randomly selected sample of consist of 30 students of class VII A as the experiment. Class and 30 students of class VII D as control class. The instrument of this research used 6 items about mathematical communication description form, that has been tested the validity, reliability and distinguish of power form indexed difficulty. Based on the result of data analysis have concluded that the improvement of mathematical communication ability in SMP Negeri 1 Babakan Cikao by using CTL approach is better than traditional learning.

ABSTRAK Kewirausahaan penting untuk ditingkatkan karena Indonesia berada di peringkat 103 dari 132 Negara berdasarkan data Global Enterpreuneur Indeks (GEI) tahun 2016. Kewirausahaan merupakan faktor utama dalam mendongkrak perekonomian nasional, sehingga penting untuk memahami karakteristik yang memacu seseorang menjadi wirausaha. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dukungan sosial dan kepribadian ekstraversi terhadap minat berwirausaha pada mahasiswa Agribisnis Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Desain penelitian Explanatory Survei, subjek penelitian 140 responden dari total 223 mahasiswa Agribisnis. Sistematis penelitian menggunakan kuisioner dari skala Likert. Teknik analisis data adalah regresi linear. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang  dukungan sosial dan kepribadian ekstraversi secara bersama-sama mempengaruhi minat berwirausaha dengan kontribusi sebesar 0,302 atau 30,2%. Dukungan sosial terhadap minat berwirausaha mempengaruhi minat berwirausaha dengan R Square menunjukkan besarnya kontribusi sebesar 0,279 atau 27,9%. Kepribadian ekstraversi terhadap minat berwirausaha mempengaruhi minat berwirausaha dengan R Square menunjukkan besarnya kontribusi sebesar 0,083 atau 8,3%. Kata Kunci : Dukungan sosial, kepribadian ekstraversi, minat berwirausaha ABSTRACT Entrepreneurship is important to improve as Indonesia is ranked 103 out of 132 Countries based on Global Enterpreuneur Index (GEI) data in 2016. Entrepreneurship is a major factor in boosting the national economy, so it is important to understand the characteristics that invite a person into entrepreneurship. The aim of this research is to know the influence of social support and extraversion personality to entrepreneurship interest in the student of Agribusiness University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Research design use Explanatory Survey, the subject of research 140 respondents from a total of 223 students Agribusiness. Systematic research using questionnaires from Likert scale. The technique of data analysis is multiple linear regression. The results showed that the influence of social support and extraversion personality together with entrepreneurship interest with R Square shows the contribution amount of 0.302 or 30.2%. Social support for entrepreneurship interests affecting entrepreneurship interests with R Square shows the contribution amount of 0.279 or 27.9%. Extraversion personality towards entrepreneurship interest influence entrepreneurship interest with R Square shows contribution amount of 0,083 or 8,3%. Keywords: Social Support, Extraversion Personality, Entrepreneurship Interest

This study aims to explore the students’ perception of the use of English as Medium of Instruction (EMI) in teaching and learning at SMA Negeri 1 Kota Gorontalo. This explorative qualitative study employed a purposive sampling method. This study involved 112 twelve-grade students from IPA, IPS, and BAHASA majors of SMA Negeri 1 Kota Gorontalo as the subjects.  This study utilized questionnaires for data collection, while the Likert Scale and Percentage Formula were performed in data analysis. The result showed that the students had positive perceptions of the three EMI types of perception: visual, auditory, and speech perception. The average results in visual, auditory, and speech perceptions were 70.96% (‘strongly agree’ category), 70.49% (‘strongly agree’ category), and 57.90% (‘agree’ category). Further study with bigger samples and different subjects is recommended since this research only focuses on students perception of the Use of EMI in Teaching and Learning at SMA Negeri 1 Kota Gorontalo.

The purpose of this study is to determine the interaction between learning process and early mathematical ability towards the enhancement of mathematical disposition ability, and for knowing the enhancement of student's mathematical disposition ability who achieved Chalk Talk method with CTL approach compared conventional learning. The type of this research is quasi-experiment with non-equivalent control group design. The independent variable of this study is Chalk Talk with CTL and early mathematical ability. The dependent variable of this study is mathematical disposition ability. The sample of this study is the student from SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Depok grade VIII, then VIII B and C as the sample. The instrument use scale of mathematical disposition ability and activity note. The data analysis using ANOVA 2 tail technic (significance 5%). The results of this study indicate that there is no interaction between learning and early mathematical ability on enhancing mathematical disposition ability of student, and the enhancement of student's mathematical disposition ability that received Chalk Talk with CTL was not better than student who received conventional learning
