In this era a lot about the world of medical research scientist with mirror therapy. This therapy can be used as a way to reduce the pain, as if the brain can predict patient back to health and recovery from illness. While in the case of childbirth mirror therapy was able to show the real state of the baby's position visually in women who are doing labor that affect the growth of maternal motivation in making an effort to push aside the pain. Measurements conducted on 20 mothers pain when the second stage, when the mother was taught to push 5 times the mother is not able to properly push past the pain scale assessment after mirror therapy treatment is done with mirrors placed with the length and width of 10 cm. After that led her to see the state of the baby until the mother found the concentration point and will reach very high concentrations and the mother's mind is influenced by the image of the mirror so she has a very strong suggestion. Results before the mirror therapy is given is 18 respondents (90%) with severe pain, whereas pain was only 2 respondents (10%). Having given moderate pain mirror therapy there were 16 respondents (20%), whereas severe pain a 4 respondents (20%). The data obtained were statistically analyzed by paired t test T-test using SPSS. Mirror therapy proven to be effective in reducing labor pain on stage II.

Although labor pain is a physiological process but it was feel severe and longer for primiparas.  Because of a cervical effacement earlier than dilation, and no experience of labor can affect women feel anxiety and fear of labor process, it cause increasing of pain. The non-pharmacological method was cheaper, simple, effective, and no side effect can help women to control of labor pain by herself or another person. The combination of lavender aromatherapy and effleurage can increase of relaxation of uterus contraction and between of it, so labor pain decreasing. The aim of this study was to determine difference effect of the combination of lavender aromatherapy and effleurage with breathing relaxation on pain intensity during labor among primiparas. This study used pre-experiment design with Pretest – Post-test  Control Group design. The consecutive sample of 32 laboring women divided to two groups of the intervention and control group. The pain scale measured by NRS questionnaire. The results showed that mean of pain scale before being given intervention is 7.25. It was the same of two groups. The average of pain scale decreasing to 5.25 in the intervention group and to 6.25 in the control group. The result of t-test dependent obtained p-value = 0.000, so meaning that two of interventions was able to decrease of the labor pain. The result of  t-test independent obtained p-value 0.004, so meaning that there was significantly difference of pain scale during labor of the intervention group to compare with control group. Suggested to health care who provide services at labor room to give a combination of lavender aromatherapy and effleurage as a non-pharmacology therapy alternative besides breathing relaxation to decrease of pain labor in primiparas. Keywords:  Aromatherapy, Labor, Massage, Pain, Relaxation

Labor pain is a physiological condition that most experienced by all women giving birth. Labor pain of the active phase is caused by cervical dilatation and distention of the uterine corpus. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences of acupressure effect on the combination of BL32 (Ciliao) and LI4 (Hegu) points with BL32 (Ciliao) and SP6 points (Sanyinjiao) toward the intensity of labor pain. The research design used Quasy Experiment with the approach of Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design with the Purposive Sampling technique. The population of this study was all maternity women at PMB Siti Zulaikah Jogoroto Jombang. The sample in this study was 22 respondents who include to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The pain scale instrument used was the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The data were analyzed by using Paired T-Test and Independent T-Test with α ≤ 0.05. The results have shown that there was an effect of acupressure in both intervention groups on the intensity of labor pain with a value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05). There were no differences in the influence between the two intervention groups (4.09 ± 1.044 vs 4.82 ± 0.982; p = 0.108 (p>0.05). Acupressure on BL32 (Ciliao) and LI4 (Hegu) point combinations with BL32 points (Ciliao) and SP6 point (Sanyinjiao) effectively reduce the intensity of labor pain so it can be used as an alternative non-pharmacological intervention in reducing labor pain intensity.

AbstractBackground: Labor pain is a visceral nociceptive pain caused by contraction and dilatation of the cervix. This condition affects the mother physically and psychologically. Pain that cannot be handled alone will cause anxiety and stress. Various techniques have been used to reduce pain during labor, which reduce emotional stress, increase calm, and physical contact while reducing pain. Warm compresses are a non-pharmacological method that can reduce labor pain. In addition, warm compresses are also a method that is cheap, simple, safe, and effective, without adverse side effects, and in accordance with the competence of midwives. This study aims to determine the effect of warm compresses in the first stage of the active phase on reducing labor pain. Methods: This research method is pre experimental designs with one group pretest-posttest research design. The number of samples as many as 10 maternity with purposive sampling sampling technique. This research was conducted in September-October 2019. Data analysis used the dependent T test. Results: The results showed that based on the results of the dependent t-Test test, the p value / Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.005, <0.05, thus there is a significant (significant) decrease between the average labor pain before which is 8.12 and after warm compresses is 6.86. Thus, there is an effect of warm compresses during the first stage of the active phase on reducing labor pain. Conclusion: There is an effect of warm compresses on decreasing labor pain scale.

Pain Labor is a physiological and individual experience. The cause of pain in labor is a combination of ischemia (hypoxia) the muscles of the uterus and stretching that occurs in the lower segment of the uterus (then the cervix). Non-pharmacological efforts that can be done in reducing pain in the mother in the face of labor are through the Application of Yoga Pranayama and Gym Ball Exercise. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of Yoga Pranayama and Ball Exercise Gym on Labor Pain Active Phase in PMB Blahkiuh Village, Abiansemal, Badung. This research method used the Quasi Experimental Design study with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The approach used is a prospective approach. Sample consisted 40 respondents. Respondent selected by purposive sampling and divide into control group and intervention group. Respondents in intervention group were given Yoga Pranayama and Gym Ball Exercise, while in the control group respondents were given conventional therapy. The data were analyzed using the Paired T-test to compare the results of the pre-test and post-test, and to compare intervention and control groups use Independent T-Test. Based on statistical tests obtained all p values <0.05 means that there is a significant difference between pain labor in the control and intervention group, so it can be interpreted that pain scale in intervention group is lower than control group. The conclusion of this study was there’s influence on the application of Yoga Pranayama and the Ball Exercise Gym on Labor Pain in the Active Phase in PMB Blahkiuh Village, Abiansemal, Badung. Index Terms— labor pain, active phase, yoga pranayama, gym ball exercise

β-methylamino-L-alanine (BMAA) has been linked to the development of neurodegenerative (ND) symptoms following chronic environmental exposure through water and dietary sources. The brains of those affected by this condition, often referred to as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis-parkinsonism-dementia complex (ALS-PDC), have exhibited the presence of plaques and neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) from protein aggregation. Although numerous studies have sought to better understand the correlation between BMAA exposure and onset of ND symptoms, no definitive link has been identified. One prevailing hypothesis is that BMAA acts a small molecule ligand, complexing with critical proteins in the brain and reducing their function. The objective of this research was to investigate the effects of BMAA exposure on the native structure of ubiquitin. We hypothesized that formation of a Ubiquitin+BMAA noncovalent complex would alter the protein’s structure and folding and ultimately affect the ubiquitinproteasome system (UPS) and the unfolded protein response (UPR). Ion mobility-mass spectrometry revealed that at sufficiently high concentrations BMAA did in fact form a noncovalent complex with ubiquitin, however similar complexes were identified for a range of additional amino acids. Collision induced unfolding (CIU) was used to interrogate the unfolding dynamics of native ubiquitin and these Ubq-amino acid complexes and it was determined that complexation with BMAA led to a significant alteration in native protein size and conformation, and this complex required considerably more energy to unfold. This indicates that the complex remains more stable under native conditions and this may indicate that BMAA has attached to a critical binding location.

Image therapy, which creates illusions with a mirror and a head mount display, assists movement relearning in stroke patients. Mirror therapy presents the movement of the unaffected limb in a mirror, creating the illusion of movement of the affected limb. As the visual information of images cannot create a fully immersive experience, we propose a cross-modal strategy that supplements the image with sensual information. By interacting with the stimuli received from multiple sensory organs, the brain complements missing senses, and the patient experiences a different sense of motion. Our system generates the sense of stair-climbing in a subject walking on a level floor. The force sensation is presented by a pneumatic gel muscle (PGM). Based on motion analysis in a human lower-limb model and the characteristics of the force exerted by the PGM, we set the appropriate air pressure of the PGM. The effectiveness of the proposed system was evaluated by surface electromyography and a questionnaire. The experimental results showed that by synchronizing the force sensation with visual information, we could match the motor and perceived sensations at the muscle-activity level, enhancing the sense of stair-climbing. The experimental results showed that the visual condition significantly improved the illusion intensity during stair-climbing.
