This study aims: to determine the relationship between visitor occupancy rates and the income level of owners of tourist homestays in Bontomarannu Village, Uluere District, Bantaeng Regency. The analytical method used 1) Simple Regression Analysis which is to find out the form of relationship between visitor occupancy rates (X) and owners (Y) income. 2) Simple correlation analysis is used to determine the closeness of relationship between two variables and to find out the direction of the relationship that occurs. 3) The Determination Coefficient can be used to find out how much the percentage of homestay relationships (variable X) to owners (Y) income. The results of this study indicate: 1) The number of visitors both local and foreign tourists fluctuate every month, except for 2 consecutive months, namely in April - May 2017 experiencing a decrease due to coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan and Idhul Fitri the majority of people in the village of Bontomarannu, are Muslim. 2) Based on the results of the calculation of correlation analysis, then r = 0.99, which means that there has been a perfect and positive linear relationship between variables x and y variables. 3) Based on the calculation in table t for a 5% error at df = n-2, obtained t table 1.701. It turns out that t count is 23.30> t table 1.701 thus, then the alternative hypothesis  is accepted and null hypothesis  is rejected, the conclusion is significant relationship between occupancy rate of visitors and income level of owners.

It is believed that managerial skills of a leader significantly affect the motivation of employees. This research aims at finding whether or not deans’ managerial skills of Pedagogics Faculty (X1), Economics Faculty (X2), Law Faculty (X3), Engeneering Faculty (X4) and Agriculture Faculty (X5) of Batanghari University significantly affect  achievement motivation of leacturers of Pedagogics Faculty (Y1), Economics Faculty (Y2), Law Faculty (Y3), Engeneering Faculty (Y4) and Agriculture Faculty (Y5) of Batanghari University respectively. For this purpose, questionnaire was distributed to 77 respondents who were randomly selected from the five faculties to obtain data. Then, the  data collected was analyzed by using simple correlation analysis of Pearson Product Moment and simple regression analysis. The t-test at the level of 95% was used to test the hypotheses. The result of the analysis shows that 1) X1 is proved not to correlate significantly with Y1. This means that dean’s managerial skills have no affect on lecturers’ achievement motivation in Pedagogics Faculty with contribution of only 5%. This also means that dean’s managerials skills cannot be used to improve lecturers’ achievement motivation in Pedagogics Faculty, 2) X2 is proved not to significantly correlate with Y2. This means that dean’s managerial skills have no affect on lecturers’ achievement motivation in Economics Faculty with contribution of only  14%. This also means that dean’s managerial skills cannot be used to improve lecturers’ achievement motivation in Economics Faculty, 3) X3 is proved no to significantly correlate with Y3. This means that dean’s managerial skills have no affect on lecturers’ achievement motivation in Law Faculty with contribution of only 19%, This also means that dean’s managerial skills cannot be used to improve lecturers’ achievement motivation in Law Faculty, 4) X4 is proved not to significantly correlate with Y4. This means that dean’s managerial skills have no affect on lecturers’ achievement motivation in Engenerring Faculty with contribution of only 1%. This also means that dean’s managerial skills cannot be used to improve lecturers’ achievement motivation in Engeeering Faculty, 5) X5 is proved  to correlate significantly with Y5. This means that dean’s managerial skills have significant  affect on lecturers’ achievement motivation in Agriculture Faculty  with contribution of 56%. This also means that dean’s managerials skills can be used to improve lecturers’ achievement motivation in Agriculture Faculty. Regression analysis shows that Y5 = 0.48 + 0.35(X5). Ini berarti if  dean’s managerial skills of Agricultural Faculty (X5) increases by 1 then lecturers’ achievement motivation of Agriculture Faculty (Y5) will increase by 0.39.Key Words: dean’s managerial skills, lecturer’s achievement motivation

This study aims to analyze the factors that determine the Human Development Index (HDI), to analyze the relationship between HDI and infrastructure spending, and to analyze the relationship between infrastructure spending and economic growth in districts/cities in Jambi Province. The data used in this study are secondary data with the type of Time Series 2012-2018 and Cross Section 11 districts/cities. This study uses Panel Data Multiple Regression Analysis and Simple Correlation Analysis using the E-views 10 tool. The results of this study indicate that the HDI of districts/cities in Jambi Province increases every year, partially the ratio of teachers to students, number of health facilities, and density. The population has a positive and significant effect in determining HDI. While the poverty factor has a negative but not statistically significant effect in determining the HDI of districts/cities in Jambi Province with an R-Square value of 0.9312. The relationship between HDI and infrastructure spending has a negative and insignificant effect, which means that an increase in infrastructure spending will increase the decrease in the value of HDI. The relationship between growth spending and economic growth has a positive and significant effect, which means that an increase in the value of infrastructure spending will increase the value of economic growth.

When studying the relationship between inequality and preferences for redistribution, it is often assumed – either implicitly or explicitly – that individuals are informed about actual levels of inequality. Newer research, however, challenges this assumption and shows that perceived inequality differs from actual inequality. Empirically, these inequality perceptions are rather good predictors for preferences for redistribution. This article argues that individuals answer the standard question for measuring preferences for redistribution based on their inequality perceptions. I conduct a simple regression analysis based on two waves of the ISSP (1999 and 2009) and show that (1) inequality perceptions are systematically linked to socio-economic variables as well as to ideological beliefs rather than to actual inequality. Then, I disaggregate the variance in inequality perceptions to a part which is explainable by socio-economic and ideological determinants (the common control variables for explaining preferences for redistribution) and an unexplained part. I show that (2) the explained as well as the unexplained variance part is associated with preferences for redistribution. I argue that this finding makes considering inequality perceptions practically relevant since standard control variables do not fully account for variation in perceived inequality.
