In the process of plant introduction, the main task is to study the features of their biology and ecology, and as a result, their adaptive capabilities in specific climatic conditions. In nature, species of iris ( Iris L.) are widely distributed from the Northern regions to the subtropics and have a great ecological plasticity. In the conditions of the Stavropol upland, it is possible to successfully grow representatives of the genus iris from different parts of its range. The collection of irises in the Stavropol Botanical garden has 19 species. Species of Iris furcata, I. notha, and I. pumila that are common in grass-turf and meadow steppes, and I. pseudonotha that are common in wet meadows, have a stability in the conditions of culture, and they have an annual abundant flowering and fruiting. The timing of the beginning of generative phases of I. pumila development in culture and natural populations of the Stavropol upland varies within 5-7 days. In comparison with other species of local flora in the collection I. pseudonotha is most susceptible to diseases, for species I. halophila flowering is not observed every year. Some of the species in the collection are of Far Eastern Asian origin: I. domestica, I. ensata, I. lactea, I. laevigata, I. oxypetala, I. sanguinea and North American - I. versicolor. Among them, I. domestica shows the least frost and drought resistance, the flowering of the species occurs during the hottest period - the third decade of July, however, in some years, high seed productivity was observed for the species. Irregular flowering in the I-II decade of May was observed for I. lactea and I. oxypetala. The species I. ensata blooms in early June, a month earlier than in natural populations. Most of the Iris species in the collection are stable, and to a lesser extent adaptive potential is shown by species with a narrow ecological and phytocenotic affiliation - I. domestica, I. scariosa, I. halophila, and I. lactea . Species I. pseudonotha, I. domestica, and I. graminea do not reach their natural values in terms of habitus.

Representatives of the genus Hortensia (Hydrangea L.) are ornamental shrubs that are highly valued in landscape construction. Today, it is important to create new and reconstruction of existing recreational areas for the recreation of the population. This leads to an increase in the demand for ornamental trees and shrubs as a material for green building. In the Middle Urals, the species of Hydrangea are still rarely used due to the poor knowledge of the bioecological characteristics of various species and varieties under the given growing conditions. The paper gives a characteristic of varying degrees of adaptability to unfavorable abiotic and biotic environmental factors of 14 species and varieties of Hydrangea (Hydrangea) from the collection of the Department of Plant Introduction and Acclimatization, which was planted on the territory of the UdmFIC UB RAS in Izhevsk in 2017. For decorative features, a technique developed by the staff of the Botanical Garden of Ufa was used. Methodological developments on decorativeness of various cultures are taken as a basis. The characteristics of meteorological conditions during the years of research (2019-2020) are given. According to the research results, 7 representatives of the Hydrangea genus were noted as the most promising candidates for green construction in the cities of the Middle Urals. Hydrangea paniculata (H. Paniculata): ‘Lime Light’. ‘Pinkie Winky’, Weems Red ’, Vanilla Fries’. Hydrangea serrata (H. Serrata) 'Bluebird', Hydrangea petiolar (H. petiolaris) and hydrangea tree (H. arborescens). According to the results of two years of observation (2019-2020), these taxa had a decorativeness rating of 50 to 73 points and were assigned to the II group of decorativeness, winter hardiness (5 points). It was noted that unfavorable climatic conditions (moisture deficit, cool May and June 2020) reduced the average decorative score of the entire collection of representatives of the genus Hydrangea by 10 points. This was mainly due to the quality of the flowering.

The dynamism of the economic development of regions largely depends on the competitiveness of their industries. One of the main drivers of the economy is the construction complex, ensuring the competitiveness of which is the main task of public administration bodies. This requires tools for monitoring the main indicators of the construction industry that form competitive advantages. The purpose of the study is to find new mechanisms for assessing the competitiveness of the construction complex of the regions and identifying weaknesses in the development of the industry. The study used the methodology of logical, historical, statistical and comparative analysis, methods of expert assessments, economic modeling, methods of assessing the reliability of qualitative and quantitative statistical indicators. The main hypothesis of the study was the assumption that due to rising cost factors and difficult climatic conditions, the northern regions have a low level of competitiveness of the construction complex. Summary of the main material. The article provides a brief overview of methodological approaches to the study of the competitiveness of the region and its construction complex. The author's approach to calculating the integral indicator of competitiveness is presented. Based on the results obtained, the classification of the northern regions according to the level of competitiveness of the construction industry was carried out. The research hypothesis was confirmed. The main indicators forming the integral index of competitiveness are analyzed. The practical significance of the work lies in the application by the executive authorities of the results of the study in the preparation of medium-and long-term programs for the socio-economic development of the regions. Conclusions and prospects for further research. The low competitiveness of the northern regions is affected by the low growth rates of the employed, the number of high-performance jobs and the volume of work performed. The further perspective of the research is to refine the methodology for assessing the competitiveness of the construction complex in the region in order to determine the weighting coefficients when calculating the generalizing integral indicator and analyze it for all subjects of the Russian Federation.

Abstract We assessed the adaptive potential of two rare decorative species listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan : Tulipa tarda Stapf (Liliaceae) and Gymnospermium altaicum (Pall.) Spach (Berberidaceae) by studying the morphological variability of generative individuals of the species. Our studies were carried out in natural populations in the Northern Tien Shan and introduced populations of the botanical garden and urban green areas of Almaty. These species showed a high degree of adaptation under the conditions of the introduction. Moreover, Gymnospermium altaicum , accidentally introduced into the urban green area of Bukhar Zhyrau Boulevard (Almaty), had formed a naturalized population that persisted for more than 8 years. The naturalized population of Tulipa tarda in the botanical garden (Almaty), introduced more than 20 years ago by one of the authors of this article, has been in existence even longer. In the latter case, individuals of seed origin showed higher adaptive capabilities than those transferred by the bulbs of generative plants.

The article presents the experimental data on the assessment of economically useful traits of eleven new parthenocarpic heterotic cucumber hybrids under the conditions of the spring-summer turnover of the Kirov region. The problem of cultivation of thermophilic crops, which arises in the northern regions of the country, is one of the stages of breeding research. The cultivation of cucumber in the Kirov region is aggravated by unfavorable climatic conditions of the second light zone (short duration of the growing season, low positive temperatures, frosts in the third decade of July and in the first decade of August). The purpose of the scientific work is to evaluate and identify promising parthenocarpic heterotic hybrids of cucumber for growing in unheated greenhouses in the spring-summer turnover of the second light zone. The research was carried out in the laboratory of northern vegetable growing of the Kirov region at the All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Growing - a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution Federal Scientific Vegetable Centre in the conditions of polycarbonate unheated ground greenhouses during 2018-2019. As a result of phenological observations and assessment of biometric indicators, the early maturity, early maturity and marketability of the tested parthenocarpic heterotic cucumber hybrids of the selection of Agroholding Poisk and ARRIVG – a branch of the Federal Scientific Vegetable Centre were determined: F1 Avoska, F1 Atos, F1 Buket dlya mamy, F1 Multifrut, F1 Novator, F1 Piligrim, F1Sprinter, F1 Revansh, F1 Tonus, F1 Express in comparison with the zoned hybrid of cucumber F1 Carolina. A strong negative influence of climatic conditions of the second light zone on the duration of the seedling-fruiting period was determined, which on average over the years of research, depending on the hybrid, varied from 47 to 55 days. It has been established that to obtain early production of cucumber in polycarbonate unheated ground greenhouses of the Kirov region, heterotic parthenocarpic cucumber hybrids F1 Sprinter (3.6 kg/m2), F1 Avoska (2.1 kg/m2) and F1 Atos (2.5 kg/m2). Parthenocarpic cucumber hybrids F1 Sprinter and F1 Atos were noted, which have the highest yield of marketable products, 95.7 and 94.0%, respectively. The most productive parthenocarpic cucumber hybrid F1Novator (16.1 kg/m2) has been identified. As a result of the research work, it was recommended to grow parthenocarpic cucumber hybrids F1Novator, F1 Sprinter, F1 Atos and F1 Avoska under conditions of unheated greenhouses of spring-summer turnover of the Kirov region.

The primary objective of the paper was to characterize the climatic conditions in the winter season in Poland in the years 1966/67–2019/20. The study was based on daily values of minimum (Tmin) and maximum air temperature (Tmax), and daily values of snow cover depth. The study showed an increase in both Tmin and Tmax in winter. The most intensive changes were recorded in north-eastern and northern regions. The coldest winters were recorded in the first half of the analyzed multiannual period, exceptionally cold being winters 1969/70 and 1984/85. The warmest winters occurred in the second half of the analyzed period and among seasons with the highest mean Tmax, particularly winters 2019/20 and 1989/90 stood out. In the study period, a decrease in snow cover depth statistically significant in the majority of stations in Poland was determined, as well as its variability both within the winter season and multiannual.

The article deals with one of the most relevant topics of the modern city and ecology - the problem of landscaping in Volgograd. The city is characterized by an industrial urbanism, with a high concentration of population, saturation of production facilities and vehicles, which contributes to a high level of negative impact on the environment. The pace of greening of the city lags behind the pace of construction of the residential sector, and the existing green spaces do not meet the sanitary and hygienic, aesthetic requirements. The prospects of this problem are determined, the existing green spaces are considered, data on the climatic conditions of the city and the ecological situation are given. Improvement in the field of landscaping is associated with the scientifically sound placement of green spaces, taking into account all the factors that affect the growth and development of plants in the urban environment. Unfortunately, due to the uneven distribution of the assortment of trees and shrubs, the species composition of the central streets and squares of the city is extremely poor. The study focuses on the role of the botanical garden in urban landscaping and aims to create recommendations for the sorting of tree and shrub plants for urban landscaping. As a result of the analysis of the assortment of ornamental plants of the open ground of the botanical garden, the article proposed species and varieties of woody and shrubby plants that have passed the introduction tests for more than 5-10 years. Recommendations for sorting are aimed at improving the ecological situation of the city and greening the recreation areas of citizens. The proposed list of tree and shrub species cannot fully solve the problem of greening the city, but it will help to significantly enrich the composition of tree and shrub plants.

The Object of the Study. Human potential. The Subject of the Study. The level and dynamics of development of the human potential of the population of the RF subjects. The Purpose of the Study. Identifying differences in development of the human potential of the population of the RF subjects and opportunities for their reduction. The Main Provisions of the Article. Human potential and its development are considered article both as the purpose and the means of human progress reflecting extension of human opportunities including creative (resource) capabilities. Theoretical and instrumental interpretation of the main components of human potential based on its reproductive structure is analysed. The components include a demographic component, components of population health and education, and a sociocultural component. For estimation of human potential indicators for each of its component, as well as a methodology for both component-by-component and composite (aggregate of all components) calculations using the index method are proposed. The methodology is applied to all RF subjects using the Rosstat data for 2010 and 2015. On the basis of the obtained estimates the authors have identified the levels of human potential development in regions that enabling to range them by this level and analyze the direction of its changes in dynamics. Components have been found out a weak and strong impact on the composite estimates as well as specifics of this impact by groups of regions. It has been established that demographic and health components leave much to be desired, particularly in northern regions characterized by harsh natural climatic conditions of life in particular. In North Caucasus regions the problem of raising educational level of population has not lost its relevance. It is shown that despite the general growth in the level of human potential development in most subjects of the Russian Federation over the period in question it remains insufficient for implementing modernization processes in some regions.
