This study explores the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) in legal metrology since there is very little information on knowledge, attitude, and practice concerning legal metrology. The survey data gathered from 24.360 respondents across 34 provinces in Indonesia assessed the understanding concerning legal metrology by applying descriptive statistics, correlation, and multinomial regression analysis. The results show the consumers generally have better knowledge in legal metrology, an excellent attitude about the importance of legal metrology, and critical behaviour in mitigating fraudulence risk when doing trade transactions at the marketplace. Variable of gender and age tends to impact knowledge, attitude, and practice concerning legal metrology issues. The study also found that the relationship between knowledge, attitude, and practice is likely to be non-linear. The outcomes of exploring the behaviour of consumers through knowledge, attitude, and practice in legal metrology can be beneficial for legal metrology authorities to analyze the impact of setting policies and programs. Also, to develop a strategy to increase public awareness in legal metrology so that the consumers can be more critical in protecting themselves from various fraudulence in measurement in trade transactions.

Objective to assess the impact of pharmacist assisted counselling in improving Parental Knowledge, Attitude and Practice [KAP] towards antibiotic use in children. A Prospective, Educational Interventional Study was conducted in 200 subjects, from the randomly chosen communities in Bangalore. The investigators did door to door visit. The primary demographics data of parents and their children were collected using standard Case Report Form (CRF), and the baseline towards antibiotic use in Children was obtained from parents using validated Questionnaire. In the presence of both parents, only one was supposed to answer the Questionnaire. Pharmacist assisted parent centred interventional counselling was provided with the help of Patient Information Leaflet1s (PIL). Follow-up and post interventional KAP assessment were done after two months from the baseline measurement. The changes in parental KAP towards antibiotics use in children were being assessed by comparing the Pretest and Posttest responses using statistical analysis. The knowledge of parents towards antibiotic use in children was medium to good in the baseline KAP assessment; however, in the majority of the participating parents it was not satisfactory in attitude and practice domains. A statistically significant improvement was seen in the KAP of parents towards antibiotic use in children after the pharmacist assisted interventional counselling. Thus, Investigators could bring excellent changes in the knowledge part; whereas the result for changes in the Attitude and Practice was good to medium respectively.

Dry eye is a common health problem worldwide, causing significant discomfort and inconvenience to sufferers. The conventional treatment of dry eye via topical administration of eye drops is deemed palliative and unsatisfactory to many. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has shown some promise in dry eye treatment; however, the extent of its use and acceptance is uncertain. We evaluated the knowledge, attitude, and practice of institutional TCM practitioners in the treatment of dry eye in Singapore. A questionnaire was generated to address the study aims and sent to TCM practitioners listed in the Singapore TCM practitioners’ board database. About three quarters of respondents thought that dry eye was not severe enough to be a public health burden but most thought that TCM was effective in the treatment of dry eye. Acupuncture and herbal medicine were most commonly used TCM modalities in dry eye treatment, and a single TCM treatment session would be charged S$20–50 by the practitioner. The majority of surveyed institutional TCM practitioners in Singapore believe that TCM is relevant in dry eye treatment. Public awareness should be raised regarding the availability of TCM as alternative medicine for dry eye.

Islam as a religion wants its people to always maintain a balance between religiosity (al din) and worldly problems (al dunya). The relationship between the two describes something that is separate but inseparable (harmony). However, for modern society, this condition often creates contradictions, this condition was seen at the time of the Covid 19 pandemic. The implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions by the government in an effort to overcome the spread of the impact of Covid 19 to the community by limiting activities in mosques and allowing activities in the market to continue in fact responded by the community differently. The methodology used is qualitative by using social policy analysis. This paper tries to examine social policies towards the application of large-scale social restrictions on mosques and markets. In this paper, the sociology of law theory is used, namely Law is a social engineering tool which emphasizes that law becomes the commander who must bring change to society. The results obtained in the research are that the community responds to the large-scale social restriction policy differently, where the purpose of the policy is for the community to be expected to make changes by complying with the rules that have been set by the government, the conditions for rejection and various responses are caused by disharmony between implementation of policies with public awareness of the law.Keyword : Policy, large-Scale Restrictions and the sociology of law.

Polystyrene is commonly used on a daily basis for the packaging of takeaways as if people assume that it is safe. Although studies show the migration of styrene into food could cause adverse health impacts such as cancer, neurotoxicity, and hormone-related problems, less is known about public awareness of its risk. This chapter presents a study conducted to assess the level of knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of polystyrene food packaging usage among food operators (i.e., hawkers, restaurants, and night market). Data were collected using self-administered to survey 115 food operators. Results show that the food operators have a moderate knowledge and attitude in polystyrene usage. Their practice in polystyrene usage is still poor. Food operators from restaurants had the highest level of KAP compared to hawker and night markets. The finding could provide some guides in developing interventions to educate food operators about food safety issues related to polystyrene.

The existence of Aedes aegypti larvae is an indicator of the existence of Aedes aegypti mosquito populations in the area. This mosquito is a vektor that can transmit diseases like Dengue, Zika, Yellow Fever and Chikungunya. The most effective efforts to eradicate mosquito larvae are within off the circle of mosquito chain that is by conducting mosquito nest eradication (PSN). Factors that may affect the existence of Aedes aegypti larvae are PSN behavior that consist of knowledge, attitudes and practice. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship of knowledge, attitudes and practice mosquito eradication with existence of Aedes aegypti larvae. This study use cross sectional design with a sample size of 80 respondents selected by simple random sampling. To determine the relationship between the dependent variable and independent variables used chi square test. The independent variable in this study is the knowledge, attitude and practice. The results of this study show that based on the chi square test with α = 5% knowledge (p value = 0,004; PR = 1,76; CI 95% 1,19-2,59), attitude (p value = 0,024 ; PR = 1,55 ; CI 95% 1,08-2,24) and the PSN practice (p value = 0,000, PR = 3,89; CI 95% 2,01-7,52) relationship with existence larvae. The conclusion is that there are relationship between knowledge, attitude and practice PSN with the exixtence of Aedes aegypti larvae in the Port of Pulang Pisau. Keywords: the existence of larvae of Aedes aegypti, knowledge, attitudes, practice PSN

Introduction: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with prothrombotic or hypercoagulable states, various inflammation markers such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) and hsC-reactive protein (hsCRP) have also been associated with AF. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between inflammation markers and the prothrombotic state in the setting of AF and the impact on outcome in patients with AF. Methods: We observed 141 patients with non-valvular AF. As a control group patients similar in gender and age without AF were examined. Clinical, instrumental and laboratory tests were performed on the observed patients. The markers of the coagulation cascade (TF and F) and of inflammatory markers (hsCRP and IL-6) were studied additionally by ELISA on the analyzer "Stat Fax 303 Plus". Studies were conducted using SPSS 13.0 and EXCEL-2013. Results: The obtained results showed that compared to the control group, AF patients had significantly higher levels of IL-6 (p = 0.043), hsCRP (p = 0.002), TF (p = 0.026), and F (p = 0.025). Moreover, levels of hsCRP were higher among AF patients at "high" risk of stroke by CHA2DS2-VASc Score (p = 0.003). Besides, the levels of hsCRP and IL-6 were markedly elevated in patients with dilated left atrium (p = 0.001), poorly functioning left atrial appendage (p = 0.023) and longer duration of AF (p = 0.002). Conclusion: We have demonstrated that the increased plasma levels of IL-6 and hsCRP are related to indices of the coagulation cascade and contribute to structural atrial remodeling in patients with AF.
