Sidaguri leaves (Sida rhombifolia L.) Have been shown to contain flavonoid compounds, where they are efficacious as hyperuricemia. This study aims to determine effectiveness ethanol extract of sidaguri leaves as antihyperuricemia in white rats. The study was conducted using the method of potassium oxanate induction and measured using glucometers. 15 animals were divided into 5 groups, namely negative control, positive control, group I combination of ethanol extract of sidaguri leaves 50 mg / kg body weight, group II ethanol extract of sidaguri leaves 100 mg / kg body weight, group III ethanol extract of sidaguri leaves 200 mg / kg body weight for 5 hours. Examination of antihyperuricemia effects is done by comparing the uric acid levels value of the rats before and after treatment. The results of this study indicate that the three dose ethanol extract of sidaguri leaves provide an antihyperuricemia effect and based on one-way Anova, Tuckey and LSD data analysis, shows that the dose of 50 mg / kg body weight is effective as antihyperuricemia and does not have a significant difference (p> 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that the dose is the most effective in decreases uric acid levels in white rats, which is a dose of 200 mg / kg body weight because it mostly decreased uric acid levels.

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of ethanol extract of cordyline fruticose leaves in reducing total cholesterol levels of male white rats. This study used 30 male white rats which were divided into 6 treatment groups, each groups consistent of 5 test animals. Group I was normal control, group II was negative control (High cholesterol died and streptozotocin 30 mg/kgBW, group III was positive control (Simvastatin suspension), group IV, V, VI were each given an ethanol extract of cordyline fruticose leaves at a dose of 100 mg/kgBW, 150 mg/kgBW and 200 mg/kgBW for 14 consecutive days. Measurements of analyzed using a one-way statistical test (ANOVA) at 95% confidence level and continued with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test to analyze differences between the groups. The result showed that the ethanol extract of cordyline fruticose leaves at a dose 200 mg/kgBW was able to reduce total cholesterol levels in white rats with cholesterol level of 39 mg/dL. This study aims to determine the content of flavonoid and the effect of ethanol extract of moringa seeds on the regeneration of pancreatic β cells in male white rats streptozotocin induced diabetes. This study method used has total flavonoid equivalent quercetin by spectrophotometry uv-vis and to regeneration of pancreatic β cells in male white rats used 30 test animals,namely male white rats divided into 6 groups, each group consisted of 5 male white rats with details of group I as normal control, Group II as negative control given 0.5% Na-CMC suspension, Group III as positive control given glibenclamide suspension and in Groups IV, V, and VI were given with each dose of 100 mg/kg BW, 200 mg/kg BW and 400 mg/kg BB. Histopathological damage picture of the pancreas was observed by staining HE using a 400x magnification olympus Cx21 microscope. The results showed that the ethanol extract of moringa seeds contained secondary metabolites, namely flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins and tannins. The results showed has total flavonoid equivalent quercetin of moringa seeds is 1,26% and regeneration of pancreatic β cells in male white rats streptozotocin induced diabetes of Moringa seed ethanol extract at a dose of 400 mg/kg BB can have an effect on the regeneration of β cells in the pancreas of white diabetic male rats.

This study aims to determine the effect of guava leaf extract (Psidiium guajava L) on hypercholesterolemia-diabetes and the effective dose for reducing cholesterol and blood glucose levels. This study is a laboratory experimental study using 30 rats divided into 6 test animals. the treatment group, each group consisted of 5 rats. Group I was normal control, group II negative control was given Na-CMC suspension, group III positive control was given simvastatin group IV dose 150 mg / kg BW, group V dose 250 mg / kg BW and group VI dose 350 mg / kg BW. The results showed that the ethanol extract of guava leaves had an effect on reducing blood glucose levels of male white rats with an effective dose of 250mg / kg BW with an average reduction of 119 mg/dL and effectively reduce cholesterol levels at a dose of 150 mg /kg BW with an average reduction of 28,33 mg/dL.

Objectives: Drugs can cause undesired effects on the fetus during pregnancy, especially embryonic/organogenesis which could lead to defects in the fetus because some types of drugs can penetrate the placenta and will undergo biotransformation into a highly reactive compound that has the potential to become a teratogenic compound. The aim of this research was to examine the teratogenic effect of bintangur leaves (Calophyllum soulattri Burm. F) ethanol extract to Sprague Dawley strain white rats. Methods: The white rats are divided into four treatment groups: Control group was given carboxymethyl cellulose Na 1%, comparison group was given trimethoprim 360 mg/kg BW, C. soulattri leaves ethanol extract (CLE) 100 mg/kg BW, and CLE 500 mg/kg BW. The treatment was administrated since organogenesis period. Cesarian section was performed to pregnant rat at the 20th day to separate the fetuses. Observation covered body weight of pregnant rats, fetal biometric, morphological malformation, and skeletal formation. Results: CLE 100 mg/kg BW and 500 mg/kg BW did not cause any change in the number of a living fetus, body weight, and length of fetuses like the comparison group. Both doses of CLE shown have a normal skeletal formation. Resorption was found in the comparison group and CLE 100 mg/kg BW with the percentage was 65.21% and 6.67%. It was found that there is no significant difference (p<0.05) between both doses of CLE compared to control group. Conclusion: From the results, it is concluded that CLE did not have the teratogenic effect.

This study aims to determine the potential for glucose levels in the blood of ethanol extracts of the begonias (Begonia Sp.), the effect of the extract on the pancreatic histopathology of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) which was induced by streptozotocin, and the effective dose begonias’ extract leaves on the histopathological descriptions of pancreatic male white rats. This study was an experimental laboratory where the research group consisted of group I (the control group) as a normal control was given a standard feed, group II (negative control) was given a 0.5% Na CMC suspension, group III (positive control) was orally given glibenclamide and experimental groups IV, V, and VI (doses 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg BW). Were given ethanol extract of begonias leaves. The results showed that the ethanol extract of the begonias (Begonia Sp.) contained secondary metabolite compounds, namely flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, polyphenols, and tannins. Ethanol extract of begonias leaves at adose of 50 mg/kg BW was an affective dose in reducing blood glucoselevels by an avarage of 101,8 mg/dL) and a dose of 50 mg/kg BW can affect the histopathological picture of the pancreas in STZ induuced rats with an average damage value of 2 from a maximum of 4.

The aim of this experiment was to determine the effect of meniran herbs (Phyllantus niruri L.) extract to blood triglycerides level in Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus). This experiment was a laboratory experiment with pre and post-test with a control group design. The samples were 30 male Wistar rats with ±200 gram of body weight and ±2 months old. The samples were divided into five groups by using a purposive random sampling technique and each group consisted of six rats. Group I as a negative control, group II as a positive control, and groups III, IV and V as meniran herbs extract groups with first dose, second dose, and third dose. All rats were simultaneously given with hyperlipemic feed. Group II was simultaneously administered with Cholvastin 0.5 mg/200 grams body weight/day. Groups III, IV and V were simultaneously treated with meniran herbs extract at dose of 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg/200 grams body weight/day. The total period of this experiment was 21 days. At the day 1st and 21st, blood was collected from rat orbital venous plexus. Serum was analyzed for their pre and post-test blood triglycerides. Statistical analysis was performed by one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by a post-hoc test. The value of p=0.002 (p<0.05) showed there was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test in delta means of blood triglycerides level among groups. Meniran herbs extract had a significant triglycerides lowering effect against blood triglycerides level of Wistar rats. The most potential of meniran herbs extract dose was 100 mg/200 gram body weight/day.

ABSTRACTIn the southeast Asian Region showing prevalence for the incidence of hyperuricemia, Indonesia ranks second with 18%. Diseases resulting from hyperuricemia (Excess uric acid) are known as gout. The use of excessive or uric acid lowering drugs such as Allopurinol can cause side effects. Flavonoids are known to inhibit xanthine oxidase, so flavonoids have the potential to be used as antyhiperuricemia agents. Green gedi leaves that have been extracted with 96% ethanol have a total flavonoid content of 41.56%. This study aims to determine the potential activity of reducing uric acid levels from green gedi leaves. This type of research is an experimental study carried out in a laboratory with rat test animals with 5 kind of treatments with 3 treatments per repetition. Hyperuricemia conditioning is done by inducing potassium oxonate intraperitoneally. Group I as negative control was given 1% CMC, group II as positive control was given Allopurinol, group III-V was treated with ethanol extract of green gedi leaves with defferent doses of 3.6mg, 7.2mg and 14.4mg. Based on the ANOVA test results obtained there is a significantly different levels of uric acid with p = 0.038 (<0.05) where the results of decreased of uric acid levels with the ethanol extracts of green gedi have a significant difference (p<0.05) with ANOVA statistical tests with level of confidence 95%. Keywords : Anova, antyhiperuricemiaa, green gedy leaves. ABSTRAKDi Kawasan Asia Tenggara menunjukan prevelensi untuk kejadian hiperurisemia, Indonesia menduduki peringkat kedua dengan angka 18%. Penyakit akibat hiperurisemia (kelebihan asam urat) dikenal sebagai gout atau pirai. Penggunaan obat penurun asam urat seperti Allopurinol yang berlebihan atau terlalu sering dapat menimbulkan efek samping. Flavonoid diketahui dapat menghambat xantin oksidase, sehingga flavonoid berpotensi untuk dijadikan sebagai agen antihiperurisemia. Daun gedi hijau yang telah diekstraksi dengan etanol 96% memiliki total kandungan flavonoid sebesar 41,56%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi aktivitas penurunan kadar asam urat dari daun gedi hijau. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental yang dilakukan didalam laboratorium dengan hewan uji tikus dengan 5 macam perlakuan setiap perlakuan dengan 3 kali pengulanan. Pengkondisian hiperurisemia dilakukan dengan menginduksi kalium oksonat secara intreperitoneal. Kelompok I sebagai kontrol negatif diberi CMC 1%, kelompok II sebagai kontrol positif diberi Allopurinol, kelompok III- V diberi perlakuan ekstrak etanol daun gedi hijau dengan dosis yang berbeda-beda yaitu 3,6mg, 7,2mg, dan 14,4mg. Berdasarkan hasil uji ANOVA didapatkan kadar asam urat berbeda secara bermakna dengan p = 0,038 (<0,05) dimana hasil penurunan kadar asam urat ekstrak etatnol daun gedi hijau terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p<0,05) dengan uji statistik ANOVA dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Kata kunci : Daun gedi hijau, antihiperurisemia, Anova

Faloak (Sterculia quadrifida R.Br) is a medicinal plant used by people in the province of East Nusa Tenggara to treat hepatitis. This study aims to determine the acute toxicity of faloak (Sterculia quadrifida R. Br) bark ethanol extract in Sprague-Dawley (SD) male white rats. The method used is experimental using post-test only control group design. In this study the parameters used are body weight, clinical symptoms, clinical biochemistry (ALT & AST), histopathology of liver organ and mortality in rats. Twenty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to 5 groups, group 1 as control, group 2 was administered orally faloak bark ethanol extract at dose of 40 mg / kg body weight, group 3 at dose of 200 mg / kg body weight, group 4 at dose of 1000 mg / kg body weight and group 5 at dose of 5000 mg / kg body weight. Results of observation for 24 hours there are no dead rats, so the value of LD50 extract ethanol faloak is > 5,000 mg / kg body weight. Observations were conducted for 14 days to observed delayed occurrence of toxic effects. Oral administration of the faloak bark ethanol extract reduced the level of AST and ALT. The histopathology observation of rats liver cells showed liver cell necrosis at treatment doses of 200 - 5,000 mg / kg body weight.

The use of stamina-enhancing drugs is now increasingly widespread. Continuous use of stamina medication can cause side effects such as insomnia, feeling nervous and emotional. Therefore, it is necessary to look for effective drugs, relatively low side effects, and relatively cheap prices. One of them is to use natural materials such as Tinospora crispa (L.) Hook stems. This study is to find out the tonic effect extract ethanol of Tinospora crispa stem against male mice with the Natatory Exhaustion Method. This research is an experimental study with a posttest matched control group design. Tonic effect test experiments were conducted using the Natatory Exhaustion Method. Test animals as many as 25 mice were divided into 5 groups, group I, II, III has given Tinospora crispa stem ethanol extract (100,200 and 400 mg/kg body weight). Group IV was given 100 mg/kg body weight of caffeine (positive control) and group V given 25 mL/kg body weight of Carboxymethylcellulose sodium 0.5 % (negative control). Test reserved per oral for 14 days. Test showing that administration 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg body weight of Tinospora crispa stem ethanol extract gave tonic effect on male mice. Mann-Whitney tests showed that the administration of Tinospora crispa stem ethanol extract doses of 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg body weight gave a tonic effect on male mice with significant value (p<0.05) compared to the administration of Carboxymethylcellulose sodium 0.5%, administration of 400 mg/kg body weight extract ethanol of Tinospora crispa stem has a tonic effect on mice which differs noticeably with the administration of caffeine 100 mg/kg body weight with significant value (p<0.05). The present investigation revealed that Tinospora crispa stem ethanol extract shows tonic effect by increasing swimming endurance on male mice.

Doxorubicin is an effective drug used in cancer therapy but produces reactive oxygen species (ROS) that are toxic to heart cells. The purpose of this study was to determine the cardioprotective activity of Mengkudu fruit ethanol extract against the heart induced by doxorubicin. Mengkudu fruit ethanol extract was obtained by maceration. Cardioprotective activity test is done by measuring blood LDH and CK-MB levels as well as cardiac histology. Animals were induced with DOX 5 mg/kg BW on day 1,7,14 and 20th. Administration of Mengkudu extract 100 mg / kg bw, 300 mg / kg bw, and 500 mg / kg BW given from day 1 to day 20 and on the 21st day cardiac serum levels of CK-MB normal group had a significant difference (p <0.05) with a negative control treatment group, treatment group I, treatment group II, and treatment group III and did not have a significant difference (P> 0.05) with a positive control group with vitamin e supplementation and serum LDH levels the normal group had a significant difference (p <0.05) with the negative control group, the treatment group I, the treatment group II, and the treatment group II and did not have a significant difference (P> 0.05) with the positive control group with vitamin e supplementation. Cardiology histology of the Mengkudu extract 100 mg/kg bw + DOX and the Mengkudu extract 300 mg/kg bb + DOX, and the negative control group showed bleeding, fragmentation and myocytolysis, in the treatment of group III, the group normal, and the positive control group did not show heart muscle damage. Based on the description above it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of Mengkudu fruit containing flavonoids has cardioprotective activity by inhibiting the formation of ROS. The higher the dose of an extract, the greater the decrease in LDH and CKMB levels and increase protection against heart damage.
