Family members of patients were examined for any anesthetic patch or nerve involved or any deformity. Grading of the deformity, if present, was also done according to WHO criteria. Data analysis was carried out by using SPSS 18.0 version. Chi square test was applied and P-value calculated. Snow ball sampling procedure was applied to study disease burden, a suitable method to cover less population, time and cost management of study. Results: In this study, the total number of new leprosy patients detected were sixty five; female patients (n=49) were 75.38% and male patients (n=16) were 24.62%. The present study aims to analyze the causative factors which are responsible for the use of a stimulant drug methamphetamine which is commonly known as ice. For this purpose, data were collected from the two districts, i.e. Peshawar and Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. A conceptual framework consists of Independent variable (ice use frequency) and dependent variables (risk factors). Data was collected through a structured questionnaire from a sample of 180 ice users by a snowball sampling technique. A Chi-square test was applied to examine the association between independent and dependent variables. The results reveal that a significant (p=0.05) association was found between various risk factors, i.e. easy availability, friends insistence, try out new experiences/curiosity, and use of ice for exam preparation with frequent use of ice. The study recommends that awareness may be created through educational, religious institution and media for the prevention and rehabilitation of ice addiction.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) often give a macrovascular complication such as Peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Ankle-brachial index (ABI) is a sensitive and specific examination for PAD. Obesity can be a risk factor of PAD. Obesity can be classified by the BMI (Body Mass Index) classification. The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship of BMI with ABI in Type 2 DM (T2DM) patients of Javanese ethnicity. This study was an observational analytic research with case-control design and used a purposive sampling technique. There were 40 case samples and 40 control samples. Data analysis used the Independent T-test and Chi-square test. There was a significant differences on age (p=0,000), METs (p-value=0,003), and ABI (p-value=0,002) between the two groups. In the DM group was found that most abnormal ABIs were found in the higher BMI, even though there was no significant correlation by the statistic (p-value=0,255). BMI contributed less to the ABI value of Javanese ethnic T2DM patients.

ABSTRACT The incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis is still very high and difficult to reduce due to the lack of compliance in taking anti-tuberculosis drugs. The lack of knowledge and family support are some of the factors that affect the level of patients’ compliancein taking anti-tuberculosis drugs. The purpose of this study is to have an overview of patients’ compliance and to see how the relationship between knowledge and family support can affect TB outpatients in taking anti- tuberculosis drugs at the Sindar Raya Community Health Center. This type of research is quantitative using a cross-sectional approach to 20 respondents who do outpatient treatment at the Sindar Raya Community Center. The sampling technique uses the total sampling technique. The data collecting is done by giving questionnaires to each respondent. The data analysis uses univariate analysis and Chi Square test on bivariate analysis. The results of the univariate research showed that there were 10 respondents (50.0%) with a good level of knowledge,8 respondents (40.0%) with moderate level knowledge, and2 respondents (10.0%) with the lack of knowledge. Good family support showed as many as 9 respondents (45.0%),5 respondents (25.0%) with moderate support, and6 respondents (30.0%) with lack of support. As many as 15 respondents (75.0%) showed a good level of compliance while 5 respondents (25.0%) showed the lack of compliance level. Based on bivariate analysis with the chi square test, there was a significant relationship between knowledge and compliance to taking anti-tuberculosis drugs (P value = 0.036), and there was also a significant relationship between family support and compliance to taking anti-tuberculosis drugs (P value = 0.017).
