Introduction: Obesity in young adults can cause various health problems, including in the long term it will cause complications of diseases such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus and death at a young  age. Self care in obesity is a management consisting of diet processing, physical activity, modification of life attitude (behavior therapy) and medical therapy. Peer group education is a method that helps increase understanding and self-care for obese students. The purpose of this study was to determine the peer group education method to increase self-care of obese students. Method: The research design used was a quasi-experimental pre and post test, with a dependent t-test. Collecting data using the Diabetes Self Management Questionnaire (DMSQ). Sample of 30 respondents. Results: The results of this study obtained that there was an effect of peer group education on increasing the self-care value of obese students (p-value = 0.00). Conclusion: Suggestions from this study are self-care is one of the efforts that can be used to overcome the problem of obesity at a young age. Educational institutions can implement self-care through healthy exercise programs every morning or health education programs in health services.

TTHE ROLE OF PEER GROUP EDUCATION FOR INCREASING KNOWLEDGE OF THE SELF ESTEM ORPHANGE ADOLESCENT eenagers are someone in the stage of seeking identity to support the formation of self-concept. Teenagers who experience changes in self-concept need a way to develop their own concepts. Peer group education is one way that can be done to support the process of developing self-concept. Aims This study aims to determine the role of peer group education in developing adolescent self-concept of Orphanage X in Kebumen District. Method This study uses quasi experimental design method with one group pree test and post test design approach with 29 total respondents consisting of 2 male peer group groups totaling 18 respondents and 11 female peer group respondents. The education process in the peer group was given for 4x meetings for each group with each meeting held for 90 minutes, the instruments used were questionnaires, modules and evaluation formats. Result The results showed that there was an influence of the role of the peer education group in increasing the knowledge of adolescent self-concept X orphanage in Kebumen District with a p value (0,000)> 0.05. The formation of this educational peer group is recommended not only to improve adolescent self-concept of orphanages but also for adolescents in general.

Latar Belakang dan Tujuan: Kejadian henti jantung ditandai dengan tidak adanya tanda – tanda sirkulasi seringkali ditemukan terjadi diluar rumah sakit yang membutuhkan pertolongan pertama dari orang – orang yang berada di sekitar korban (Bystander). Community Education System (CUBES) dengan pendekatan Peer Group Education merupakan pemberian pendidikan kesehatan yang diberikan  sasaran dengan jumlah yang banyak dengan karakteristik sasaran yang hampir sama, yang dilaksanakan secara kontinue dan dalam periode tertentu yang dalam rentang waktu yang telah direncanakan tersebut ada evaluasi hasil secara berkala.  Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui adayaitu sejumlah 8 respondenbulannya efektifitas Cubes dengan pendekatan peer grup education terhadap kemampuan bystander CPR. Metode: Metode penelitian yang digunakan quasy eksperiment melalui pendekatan  Pre dan Post Test Without Control dengan teknik Non Probability Sampling tipe Purposive Sampling dengan populasi 41 orang dan didapatkan sejumlah 8 responden. Hasil: Dari hasil uji T-Test berpasangan tersebut didapatkan hasil Significancy  0,000 dimana nilai p-value 0,05. Simpulan dan Implikasi: Terdapat perbedaan rerata kemampuan responden dalam melakukan CPR  yang bermakna sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan intervensi Community Education System (CUBES) dengan pendekatan Peer Group. Diharapkan masyarakat selaku bystander CPR lebih berinsiatif serta berperan serta dalam pemberian bantuan hidup dasar kepada pasien henti jantung sehingga komplikasi bisa diminimalisir.

Children with mental retardation depend on parents in carrying out daily activities such as in terms of self-care independence so that exercise or therapy that can be applied is occupational therapy. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of occupational therapy on the level of self-care independence in children with mental retardation at SDLB Negeri Lamongan. The design of this study is experimental design that is quasi experimental with one group pre and post test design. The sampling technique used is non probability sampling, namely purposive sampling with a total of 15 children. Data collection was carried out using independence observation sheet. Observations were performed for 3 weeks with 5 meetings, each meeting for ≤ 1 hour in SDLB Negeri Lamongan. The results of the Wilcoxon sign rank test in this study showed that p value = 0.001 where p <0.05 with Z -3.411 and Z table is 1-0.0032 due to 2-sided test, the result of Z count is far from the critical number Z ± 1, 96 by moving to the left, which means that Ho is rejected, which means there is influence of occupational therapy on the level of self-care independence in children with mental retardation at SDLB Negeri Lamongan. The results of this study showed that the degree of independence of self-care before being given occupational therapy was mostly in moderate dependence category and after being given occupational therapy mostly in independent category. Occupational therapy can produce and increase independence, especially the ability in daily activities in terms of caring for themselves.

ABSTRAKLatar belakang: Pasien diabetes melitus (DM) perlu mengontrol kadar glukosa darah dengan melakukan perawatan DM yang terdiri dari pengobatan, latihan, diet, dan edukasi. Peer group pada pasien DM dimungkinkan membantu perawatan DM. Tujuan penelitian: mengetahui efektivitas peer group diabetes self management education program (DSMEP) terhadap diabetes self-care activities DM tipe 2. Metode: Pre-eksperimental dengan rancangan one group pre-test-post-test design with control group. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dari November-Maret 2013, dengan kriteria inklusi: DM tipe II dan >18 tahun. Jumlah sampel masing-masing 13 pasien untuk kelompok intervensi dan kontrol. Kelompok perlakuan mendapatkan DSMEP, kelompok kontrol mendapatkan edukasi standar. Pretest diberikan sebelum intervensi, post test diberikan sebulan sesudah intervensi. Instrumen The Summary of Diabetes Self-Care Activities (validitas nilai r 0,361, Cronbach’s Alpha 0,847) digunakan untuk mengukur aktivitas perawatan diri. Analisis data menggunakan t-test berpasangan dan tidak berpasangan. Hasil: Kebanyakan responden perempuan, lama pengobatan 10 tahun. Mayoritas pendidikan perguruan tinggi, suku Jawa, Islam, dan menikah. Terdapat perbedaan aktivitas perawatan diri sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan intervensi antara kelompok intervensi dan kontrol pada komponen pengobatan pasien DM (p=0,005), tetapi tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan pada komponen diet (p=0,077), olahraga (p=0,259), tes gula darah (p=0,058), dan perawatan kaki (p=0,309). Samples were taken using purposive sampling from November to March 2013, with inclusion criteria of DM type II and >18 years old. The sample size was 13 patients for each of the intervention and control group. The intervention group received DSMEP, while the control group received standard education. Pretest was given before the intervention and posttest was given a month after the intervention. The Summary Instrument of Diabetes Self-Care Activities (validity value r>0.361, Cronbach’s Alpha=0.847) was used to measure self-care activities. Data were analyzed using paired and unpaired t-test. Results: Most of the respondents were female and received more than 10years of treatment. The majority of the respondents were tertiary educated, Javanese, Islamic, and married. There was a difference in self-care activity before and after intervention between the intervention and control groups in the component of DM patient treatment (p=0.005), but there was no significant difference in the components of dietary (p=0.077), exercise (p=0.259), blood sugar test (p=0.058), and foot care (p=0.309). Conclusion: Peer group-based diabetes self-management education program (DSMEP) can improve self-care ability of type 2 diabetes patients.Keywords: diabetes, peer group, self-care, activities

Chronic Kidney Desease was a progressive and irreversible kidney function disorder, usually treated with hemodialysis, a frequent complaint in hemodialysis patients is fatigue. The aim of this study was to see the effect of Based Self Care Education On level fatigue in Patient With Chronic Kidney Desease during Hemodialysis. The research was a quantitative study with quasi-experimental with control group pre test-post test design was used in this studi. The study was conducted at RSUD A. Wahab Sjahranie during May to June 2017. The total samples of 111 patients hemodialysis selected by purposive sampling. The subjects was divided into the interventions group consist of 83 patient who were given based self care education and the control group 28 patients. The results of the research were obtained after 6 weeks intervention, the Non-Parametric Test showed that Asymp Sig (2 tailed) = .00 or p-value <.05 the difference fatigue level between the intervention group to the control group, Odd Ratio was showed that self care-based education intervention group has a tendency to experience fatigue change rate of 1.22 times greater than control group. The ordinal logistic analyse result was showed that p = .00 or p-value <.05 there was a significant effected of Based Self Care Education intervention given to changes in fatigue. Conclusions of Based Self Care Education research have an influenced on decreased fatigue. The study has been recommended on intervention could be applied as one of the education given to patients during hemodialysis therapy.

Context:  Endometriosis is a  chronic and incurable condition associated with debilitating pain and sub-fertility that affects approximately 176 million women worldwide. Aim: To measure the effect of instructional nursing strategies on endometriosis symptoms. Methods: A quasi-experimental (pre/post-test) design was utilized. The study was conducted at gynecological clinics at Ain shams University Maternity Hospital. A purposive sample of sixty women who meet the criteria of the study. Data were collected through three tools; endometriosis structured interviewing questionnaire, endometriosis health profile questionnaire, in addition to women compliance follow up record. Results: The study sample age was 32.47±5.24. There was a highly statistically significant improvement in women's knowledge regarding endometriosis after implementing instructional nursing strategy and at follow-up time compared to their knowledge before it at p-value ≥0.001. Also, there was a highly statistically significant improvement in women's practices to alleviate endometriosis symptoms after three months of implementing instructional nursing strategy compared to their self-care practices before it at p-value 0.001. Moreover, women who followed instructional nursing strategies had highly statistically significant improvement on endometriosis-related symptoms, pain, and fatigue after implementing the instructional nursing strategy at p-value ≥0.001. Conclusion: Women with endometriosis who follow instructional nursing strategies will have fewer symptoms, better knowledge, and improved self-care practices. An awareness program should be developed to upraise women's knowledge regarding endometriosis, and self-care management is recommended.

<p>The Self-Care Agency role is to increase knowledge with changing attitudes in driving the elderly to be more aware of the importance of personal hygiene in their daily lives. One attempt in the prevention of disease in the elderly is by doing personal hygiene so that the elderly can better feel comfort, safety and well-being. This study aimed to determine the effect of Self-Care Agency to the personal hygiene of the elderly in nursing home Binjai. The design study is Quasi-Experimental Design Time Series, with the approach of One Group Pre Post Test Design. Sampling was done by purposive sampling with a sample of 30 respondents. Research results pre intervention personal hygiene less category as much as 73%, and post intervention personal hygiene category of "good" as much as 53.3%. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test showed that the self-care agency signifikat to improving the personal hygiene of the elderly in Panti Werda Binjai, with p value = 0.001. Low personal hygiene of the elderly in nursing home Binjai due to lack of awareness of the importance of self care. It is necessary innovations in providing nursing interventions, assistance, support and cooperation with the nursing home attendant in improving personal hygiene of the elderly.</p><p><strong>BAHASA INDONESIA </strong>Self-Care Agency berperan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dengan mengubah sikap dalam mengarahkan lansia untuk lebih menyadari pentingnya melakukan personal hygiene didalam kehidupan sehari-harinya. Salah satu usaha pencegahan penyakit pada lansia dengan melakukan personal hygiene sehingga lansia dapat merasakan kenyamanan, keamanan dan kesejahteraan yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Self-Care Agency terhadap personal hygiene lansia di Panti Werda Binjai. Desain penelitian yang digunakan Quasi Experimental Time Series Design, dengan pendekatan One Group Pre Post Test Design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan dengan purposive sampling dengan besar sampel 30 responden. Hasil penelitan pre intervensi personal hygiene kategori kurang sebanyak 73%, dan post intervensi personal hygiene kategori “baik” sebanyak 53,3%. Berdasarkan hasil uji Wilcoxon memperlihatkan bahwa Self-care agency signifikan terhadap peningkatan personal hygiene lansia di Panti Werda Binjai, dengan nilai p value = 0,001. Personal hygiene yang rendah pada lansia di Panti werda Binjai disebabkan kurangnya kesadaran pentingnya perawatan diri. Maka perlu inovasi dalam memberikan intervensi keperawatan, pendampingan, dukungan dan kerjasama dengan petugas panti werda dalam meningkatkan personal hygiene lansia.</p>

Education is one of the basic factors that can condition a person to be able to improve their abilities, knowledge, skills and attitude. The process of understanding patients with diabetes mellitus can occur through health education, by providing information, so there will be an awareness of individuals to behave in accordance with the knowledge they have. This study aims to analyze the effect of foot gymnastics education on self care in patients with diabetes mellitus at Panembahan Senopati Hospital, Yogyakarta. This quasi-experimental study used pre-test and post-test with control group design. The results showed that foot gymnastics education affected self care in patients with diabetes mellitus, with a p-value = 0.000. AbstractThe incidence of stunting in children can cause the low quality of a country's Human Resources (HR). Stunting causes poor cognitive abilities, low productivity, and increased risk of disease resulting in long-term losses for the Indonesian economy. Stunting also has other long-term impacts, namely the risk of suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus (DM), coronary heart disease, hypertension, cancer, and stroke. Community participation is needed in the government's efforts to tackle stunting. Community behavior problems that are factors that cause stunting include 1) Lack of environmental hygiene 2) Lack of knowledge of mothers about health and nutrition 3) Busy parents 4) Poverty. GERMAS CETING (Community Movement to Prevent Stunting) is a community movement that is carried out jointly and continuously in order to increase public awareness in stunting prevention efforts with the main target of the entire community being Cadres, pregnant women and mothers of toddlers and other potential groups by integrating all specific interventions and interventions. sensitive. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge of cadres and mothers of toddlers about stunting and to improve the skills of cadres and mothers of toddlers in making additional food according to the child's age. Stunting juga menimbulkan dampak jangka panjang yang lain yaitu berisiko menderita penyakit kronis seperti diabetes mellitus (DM), jantung koroner, hipertensi, kanker, dan stroke. Partisipasi masyarakat sangat dibutuhkan dalam dalam upaya pemerintah untuk penanggulangan stunting. Masalah perilaku masyarakat yang menjadi faktor penyebab stunting antara lain 1) Kurangnya menjaga kebersihan lingkungan 2) Kurangnya pengetahuan ibu mengenai kesehatan dan gizi 3) Kesibukan orangtua 4) Kemiskinan. GERMAS CETING (Gerakan masyarakat cegah stunting) merupakan gerakan masyarakat yang dilakukan secara bersama dan berkesinambungan dalam rangka meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat dalam upaya pencegahan stunting dengan sasaran seluruh masyarakat utamanya adalah Kader, ibu hamil dan ibu balita serta kelompok potensial lainnya dengan mengintegrasikan seluruh intervensi spesifik dan intervensi sensitive. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan kader dan ibu balita tentang Stunting serta Meningkatkan ketrampilan kader dan ibu balita dalam pembuatan makanan tambahan sesuai dengan usia anak. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan adalah identifikasi masalah, menentukan kerangka pemecahan masalah, melakukan pre test, memberikan Pendidikan Kesehatan dan pelatihan, melakukan pos test. <p>Low consumption of vegetables and fruit causes an increased risk of chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. The results showed that the majority of pregnant women (52.9%) rarely consume vegetables and fruit in sufficient quantities as recommended. Therefore, it is necessary to provide education about the importance of vegetables and fruits consumption, one of which is through the Information Motivation Behavioral Skill (IMB) approach. This study aims to determine the effect of health education with the Information Motivation Behavior Skill (IMB) approach to increasing knowledge and consumption patterns of vegetables and fruits in pregnant women. This research is a quasi-experimental study with pre-post test design with control groups conducted in pregnant women in the city of Bandung with 60 samples using the observation sheet and questionnaire instruments. Data analysis used the chi-square test. The result of this study indicates that there are significant differences in knowledge and patterns of consumption of vegetables and fruit in pregnant women between the control and treatment groups with a p-value&lt;0.05. Information Motivation Behavior Skill (IMB) Health Education Model approach has a role in increasing the knowledge and consumption patterns of vegetables and fruits in pregnant women.</p>
