Maggot comes from the Black Soldier Fly insect which is very active in eating a variety of organic waste. Maggot is able to process organic waste up to 52.2 kg per day. Indonesian waste dominated by organic species is 40 million tons in 2019 where 17.94% is produced by traditional markets (7 million tons). Based on BPS data, Traditional markets produce 1 ton of waste per day. By the ability of maggot to process waste, a 60 x 40 meter building is needed. Aside from being an organic waste solution but also as a producer of maggot with high protein, maggot flour and compost, it will add economic value. Organic waste production in Indonesia which continues to increase has the potential for maggot production to be continuous so that it can replace fish meal or conventional animal feed in terms of continuity. Maggot has a crude protein content of 42% so it is very good as a substitute for fish meal which is always imported. Maggot is also thought to have potential as a substitute for the MBM ration. Research shows that maggot flour can replace 75% of fish meal as an abdominal ration. The compost produced by maggot also has a greater NPK value than Em4 and cow dung, so that it has the potential to become a quality NPK fertilizer. It can be concluded maggot as an organic waste solution and potentially as a substitute for conventional sustainable feed.

Gondosuli Village is located in Muntilan District, Magelang Regency, and has a high population growth rate, economy, and development, all of which contribute to increased community activities. This causes waste production to continue to rise; additionally, there are issues with waste management from upstream to downstream, namely a lack of waste reduction, which leads to waste accumulation in landfills. This is due to a lack of proper management, which consists of only collection, disposal, and transportation. As a result, the community service is carried out by planning for a solid waste management system capable of reducing waste from upstream. The cultivation of maggots from organic waste is an upstream system approach that can be used to solve the waste problem. BSF maggot cultivation has several advantages, including the production of pre-puppa, which can be used as a source of protein for animal feed, and aiding in the resolution of the community's organic waste processing problem. The concept of integrated waste management (TPS 3R) can be combined with a waste bank to reduce waste disposal in the TPA while also providing economic value.

Organic waste is the largest composition of waste generated by the people of Indonesia, which is around 50-60%. This type of waste, especially food waste, is easy to smell if it is stored for too long so that it has the potential to pollute the environment. On the other hand, organic waste has good nutrients that can be generated, including through BSF (Black Soldier Fly) maggot bioconversion treatment. The BSF maggot bioconversion method is a method of processing organic waste which is carried out by converting organic matter into other products that are useful and have added value by utilizing biological processes from microorganisms and enzymes. Organic waste treatment with this method is generally carried out on a community-based basis and is integrated with the development of agriculture, fisheries and animal husbandry, because maggot cultivation produces commodities of economic value such as compost and maggot larvae. Compost contains very good nutrients so that it can be used for organic farming and maggot contains high protein that can be used for animal feed and fisheries. The implementation of this program was piloted in the boarding school community, namely the Az-Zakaria Islamic Boarding School which is managed by the Az-Zakaria Islamic Education Foundation (YPI) in Sindangbarang Village, Jalaksana District, Kuningan Regency. The result of this implementation is the formation of a new group of entrepreneurs engaged in the cultivation and utilization of BSF maggots.

Background: Rubbish is still often treated as something that is of no use. Rubbish can provide benefits to humans. Several types of vegetable waste from the market can be used as animal feed. This study aims to get a solution to overcome the buildup of organic waste in market by creating into a pellet and find out if the animal likes the organic waste pellets. Methods: This type of research is experimental, which is a research method that uses a quantitative approach, doing three controlling activities, manipulating activities, and observation. In this study, researchers took the three types of organic waste most widely produced in the market, namely mustard, bean sprouts and spinach, were treated as pellets and were examined for their nutrient content and moisture content and were tested on experimental animals. Result: From the observations it can be seen that the pellets favored by the test animals are pellets from bean sprouts with the most pellets being eaten every day. Moreover, the most disliked by the test animals are pellets from mustard greens, this is possible because the bean sprouts pellets smell of caramel and hollow texture, while mustard pellets smell like salted fish. Conclusion: Organic waste should be collected and made into pellets so that it can be of economic value. In making mustard pellets, it should not be in a pure state but made into a mixture so that it is preferred by animals. Keyword: Organic waste, pellet, animal food

Garbage is one of important issues in the life community, particularly in Indonesia. The volume of garbage heap is increasing along with the increase of public consumption every day, which affects garbage accumulation especially in GEMPEL - BEHI TPST. Therefore, an alternative waste treatment is needed to reduce the volume of waste to be transported to the landfill by utilizing organic waste with anaerobic-digester technology. This condition encourages researchers to design biodigester type fixed dome to optimize waste processing. Based on the research that has been done, Designed anaerobic-digester that had been made can be known the total volume of reactor used is 196,8 m3 to process waste 32,8m3/day. From utilization the anaerobic-digester technology, it provides benefits for the community such as income from the sale of economic value of waste are Rp. 58.795.750,- per month and value of expenses are Rp 52.320.000,- per month with pay back period are 6 month. So with the design, it occurs environmental conservation efforts as one step to improve human welfare and realize the sustainability of natural resources.
