Abstract This study focuses on long-term care (LTC) state Medicaid policy and its impact on caregiver decisions and experiences. It examines respondents’ general knowledge of LTC state policies and services, challenges with navigating LTC policies and services, and decision-making pathways based on these factors. Using purposive sampling, 63 family caregivers across eight states participated in open-ended qualitative interviews (2019-2020) until thematic saturation was reached. Questions broadly examined caregivers’ experiences and decisions, focusing on decisions made around type of care setting and experiences with LTC state policy. States were selected to represent variation in Home and Community Based Service (HCBS) expenditures as a percentage of total Medicaid long-term services and support expenditures. While LTC policies and services vary significantly by state, we identified many parallels in caregiver experiences and perceptions across states, as respondents often lacked specific knowledge about LTC policies and services and how to access them. Overarching themes include LTC policy navigation challenges, distrust in state-funded LTC services and supports, and moral expectations of caregiving. To manage these challenges, caregivers employed coping strategies such utilizing informal support networks, hiring care coordination assistance, and “stretching things thin” to fill the policy and service gaps. Study findings highlight potential strategies to improve LTC services across states. There is a need to improve community trust with state services by employing transparent regulatory and evaluation procedures for LTC. Wider access to case management may improve communication and knowledge of available services to maximize benefit from HCBS expansions.

Stunting is one of the public problems that need attention and handling. The incidence of stunting if leftunchecked  can have  implications  for  the  quality  of human  resources,  namely in  addition  to  risking  physicalgrowth barriers and children's vulnerability to disease, it also causes cognitive development barriers that will affectchildren's intelligence and productivity levels in the future. The community service (PPM) which is carried out in theform of counseling in Besmarak village, Nekamese sub-district, Kupang regency is expected to provide knowledgeto  the  community  that  solving  the  stunting  problem  is  not  only through health and nutrition improvementassistance provided by the government, but also through community social capital, namely through social networksand  community trust norms.  There  is a  strong  relationship between social capital and  solving  various  publicproblems, so that people with higher social capital also have higher awareness, they are able to take collectiveaction in preventing stunting.

This project offers a new leadership framework for the next generation of nonprofit professionals. Based on five years of data collected from the New York Community Trust Leadership Fellowship - designed to address leadership development gaps in the nonprofit sector - it constructs three dimensions and eleven themes for the theory and practice of leadership standpoints. Leadership standpoints are a framework for practicing inclusion, building spaces for performance, and thinking and acting with range. Those using leadership standpoints continuously interact with diverse stakeholders, constantly verify others' views and interests, and remain keenly attentive to power distributions, material constraints, and hidden or unacknowledged voices that need surfaced, while expanding their personal and social outlooks to elevate performance and meet pressing demands best addressed through broadly informed decisions. The advancement of information systems is an opportunity and a challenge as well as for Islamic educational institutions. One of them is a madrasah. If madrasah does not respond appropriately and wisely to this progress, madrasah will be left behind and even abandoned. Thus, in simple terms the era of "disruption" has been described by many recent scientists. In addition, the Covid-19 pandemic has implications for human life, including education. Online learning is a necessity. How has madrasah responded toward two major phenomena in the past of year. This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The primary data sources came from the research locus, namely MI Maarif Kokap and MTsN 4 Kulon Progo. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, documentation and interviews. Meanwhile, data analysis adopted a triangulation system. The results of the study describe that the two madrasahs carried out five strategic steps in building community trust, namely (1) following the dynamics of the community, (2) making learning innovations, (3) involving the surrounding community, (4) assigning offline learning under certain conditions and (5) home visit activity. These findings show that in building public trust during the pandemic and disruption era, madrasahs need to be open to existing technological developments, follow community dynamics and strengthen relationships with   stakeholders.

While most of the mortality associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 has been in elderly populations and adults with significant medical comorbidities, there has been death and morbidity in paediatric populations. As vaccine trial data is released to the public, many people look to the future with hope ; with good vaccine uptake there is the opportunity to reduce the spread of infectious pandemics. Initial vaccine trials were completed with adults and were expanded to include paediatric populations delaying paediatric COVID-19 vaccine initiatives. The exclusion of children from initial vaccine trials during a pandemic is not morally justifiable and fosters distrust with the pharmaceutical and medical industries and inevitably postpones vaccinating children when there is a surplus of available vaccines. The delayed vaccination of children under twelve may have significant public health and economic consequences as there may be ongoing viral transmission in the context of reopening strategies. The safety and efficacy of these candidate vaccines in children should be assessed expeditiously so that distribution to vulnerable paediatric populations is not impacted. Vaccine uptake compliance in the general population is important in establishing herd immunity and ensuring that there is thorough scientific evidence to support vaccination for children is important in establishing community trust

The South African local government context has been marred by persistent citizen protests that continue to jeopardise public administrators’ quest for effective service rendering. Such protests have been attributed to the disregard of citizen participation in local government and unresponsive service rendering, amongst other factors. Meaningful citizen participation is seen as a precondition for the establishment of trust between communities and public administrators. This article, delving into the empirical literature, presents a citizen participation and public trust model aimed at minimising service delivery protests in South Africa. It argues that whilst lack of community trust has been lauded as one of the factors that have brewed citizen protests over the years, there is evidence to show that between the core values of procedural justice and public trust, citizen perception of power to influence may be vital to minimise proclivity to protest. The article finds that in addition to the interactional and informational justice components of procedural justice, meaningful citizen participation can be measured as a combination of these justice areas with mechanisms that highlight citizens’ positive perceptions of their power to influence decisions. As recommendations, the article argues that indeed lack of community involvement in municipal processes has the potential to break down trust and explode into service delivery protests. However, the article concludes that ensuring meaningful participation in local government decision-making processes, as defined in this article, is a precondition for building community trust and limiting the outbreak of service delivery protests in the local government context.

Purpose This study aims to examine the determinants of accountability and transparency of Indonesian village government(s), namely, the competence and organisational commitment of village government staff, and the consequences of accountability and transparency for village community trust. Design/methodology/approach This research was conducted in village governments in the province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, covering four regencies: Sleman, Bantul, Kulon Progo and Gunung Kidul. A total of 128 village governments participated in this research. Data were collected by distributing a questionnaire survey, and a partial least squares technique was used to test the research hypotheses. Findings The study revealed that village government staff's competence and organisational commitment are positively associated with accountability. However, organisational commitment and accountability are not associated with transparency. In addition, it was discovered that transparency is positively associated with village community trust but accountability is not. Originality By testing the determinants and consequences of accountability and transparency following the ratification of the new village law regulating village government governance, this study is, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, pioneering research.
