Abstract Background This study aimed to assess the prognostic value regarding neurologic outcome of CT neuroimaging based Gray-White-Matter-Ratio measurement in patients after resuscitation from cardiac arrest. Methods We retrospectively evaluated CT neuroimaging studies of 91 comatose patients resuscitated from cardiac arrest and 46 non-comatose controls. We tested the diagnostic performance of Gray-White-Matter-Ratio compared with established morphologic signs of hypoxic-ischaemic brain injury, e. g. loss of distinction between gray and white matter, and laboratory parameters, i. e. neuron-specific enolase, for the prediction of poor neurologic outcomes after resuscitated cardiac arrest. Primary endpoint was neurologic function assessed with cerebral performance category score 30 days after the index event. Results Gray-White-Matter-Ratio showed encouraging interobserver variability (ICC 0.670 [95% CI: 0.592–0.741] compared to assessment of established morphologic signs of hypoxic-ischaemic brain injury (Fleiss kappa 0.389 [95% CI: 0.320–0.457]) in CT neuroimaging studies. It correlated with cerebral performance category score with lower Gray-White-Matter-Ratios associated with unfavourable neurologic outcomes. A cut-off of 1.17 derived from the control population predicted unfavourable neurologic outcomes in adult survivors of cardiac arrest with 100% specificity, 50.3% sensitivity, 100% positive predictive value, and 39.3% negative predictive value. Gray-White-Matter-Ratio prognostic power depended on the time interval between circulatory arrest and CT imaging, with increasing sensitivity the later the image acquisition was executed. Conclusions A reduced Gray-White-Matter-Ratio is a highly specific prognostic marker of poor neurologic outcomes early after resuscitation from cardiac arrest. Sensitivity seems to be dependent on the time interval between circulatory arrest and image acquisition, with limited value within the first 12 h.

This study is to describe the information needs of XII class students in Khadijah Surabaya Senior High School. The research method used is descriptive quantitative and the research location is in Khadijah Surabaya Senior High School. The population was taken from XII students class and a valid sample filled out the questionnaire as many as 68 students. The sampling technique was Purposive Sampling. The result of the research shows that 11 (eleven) indicators derived from David Nicholas used by the researcher produce 36 derivative indicators for the research questionnaire. From the 36 questions, 34 indicators show a high category score. While the remaining 2 show a score that is in the medium category. Indicators that are in the medium category have the lowest score. Those are the respondent’s information needs about technological and communication developments and the information needs of respondents who have an intellectual level of information that is filled with writing or words. On the other hand, the result of the highest score was found in the respondent’s information needs indicator showing that respondents need more information with a visually pleasing collection – book, magazine, or any other forms of information sources. Keyword: Analysis of Information Needs; Student Information Needs; Library School

The Welfare Quality® assessment protocol (WQ) is the most extensive way to measure animal welfare. This study was set up to determine if resource-based welfare indicators, that are easier and faster to measure, could replace the more time consuming, animal-based measurements of the WQ. The WQ was applied on 60 dairy farms in the Netherlands, with good, moderate and poor welfare. The WQ protocol classified most farms (87%) as ‘acceptable’. Several of the animal-based measures of WQ correlated well with measures in the environment. Using these correlations, an alternative welfare assessment protocol (new Welfare Monitor) was designed, which takes approximately 1.5 h for a farm with 100 dairy cows. Because the opinion of farmers about welfare assessment is important if one wants to improve conditions for the cows at a farm, another objective of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of the new Welfare Monitor for the farmer. Over two years, the farms were visited, and advice was given to improve the conditions at the farm. After the first welfare assessment and advice, farmers improved the conditions for their cows substantially. Farms where the category score had increased made more improvements on average than those that did not upgrade.

This study aims at identifying nucleus companies’ service quality, broiler farmers’ satisfaction and the relationship between contract farming services quality and broiler farmers’ satisfaction in Banyumas Regency. The study takes survey method to broiler farmers participating in contract farming programs from five nucleus companies in Banyumas Regency as its population. 50 broiler farmers are selected using the proportional random sampling method based on Slovin formula as respondents. The data obtained are analyzed by employing descriptive statistics and Correlation Rank Spearman Analysis. The results show that the farmers are averagely 44 years old with mostly junior high education, and 76% of the respondents have broiler farming as their main livelihood. The farmers have quite a long time of experience (8.92 years) in raising broiler farming. Their satisfaction of the contract farming model’s service is of medium category (score 84.02) and their perception of the nucleus companies’ service quality is of medium category (score 86.34). The Spearman Rank Correlation analysis shows that the nucleus companies’ service quality is significantly related to the broiler farmers’ satisfaction (P<0.01) with a strong correlation coefficient of 0.761. The nucleus companies’ services in broiler contract farming model must be continuously improved to increase broiler farmers’ satisfaction.
