Introduction. Adolescents with hearing impairment face a number of exclusion due to their limitation, including lack of access to information on reproductive health. This study was aimed to explore needs for sexual and reproductive health education for students with hearing impairment at SLB B Negeri Singaraja. Methods. A qualitative study was conducted at Singaraja District. Data were collected at through in-depth interviews to 19 informants. Informants were purposively selected based on their specific roles. Our informants included ten students with hearing impairment, one head of school, five teachers, and three parents or carers. Data were analysed using a thematic approach. Results. The majority of students with hearing impairment were having low level of knowledge associated to sexual and reproductive health. However, sexual and reproductive health practices between adolescents with and without hearing impairment were generally comparable. Needs for sexual and reproductive health education must cover several elements: (1) education material must be tailored based on age, (2) learning methods should be tailored based on their intellectual ability, and (3) learning methods must use contextual and real model approach to allow better transfer of information. Teachers faced difficulty to provide sexual and reproductive health education for students with hearing impairment even though some modules are already available. Conclusion. Students with hearing impairment at SLB B Singaraja State need more simple learning pictures and videos that are accompanied by written texts and sign language movements so that it is easier to understand the material delivered by the teacher, where the reproductive health education material needed is age-appropriate material and the development of each individual, while the reproductive health learning methods needed by deaf students are simpler learning methods while still using sign language.

Organizational culture that is not conducive in implementation of the hospital service system, is observed as one of the factors causing nurse turnover which can be detrimental to the hospital. This study aims to explore the thematic relationship of the influence of organizational culture with nurse turnover. Methods. The Mixed-Methods concurrent triangulation study (a balanced mix of quantitative and qualitative) with the independent variables are characteristic of organizational culture, socialization process of organizational culture and the role of managers in organizational culture. The sample in this study were 232 nurse respondents and 15 participants consisting of nurses, head nurse and the head of the installation at a hospital in South Jakarta. Results. Regression test results showed a significant influence between the characteristics of organizational culture (ß=311, p = .000), the role of managers in organizational culture (ß=240, p = .006) while the process of socializing organizational culture obtained significant results but does not have an effect on nurse turnover (ß= 101, p = 210). The results of qualitative analysis found five themes related to the characteristics of organizational culture, four themes about the socializing process of organizational culture, three themes related to the role of managers in organizational culture. Conclusion. It is important for nurse managers to pay attention to the creation of good organizational culture characteristics, the implementation of orientation socialization processes, and the assessment of consistent career paths for all individuals in hospital organizations.

Introduction. Nurse turnover will harm the hospital both in terms of costs, resources, and motivation. Turnover can be predicted by exploring the turnover intention of the nurses. Nurses' turnover intention is closely related to the practice of nurse resource management in implementing policies including compensation, career development and work design. The study aims to analyze and identify the effect of retention programs (compensation, career path, work design) on nurses' turnover intention. Methods. The mixed method parallel convergent approach is used in the study. Simple random sampling was taken on 200 respondent nurses in three private hospitals. Semi structure interviews were conducted on 15 participants. Results. Regression test results show that there is a significant effect between compensation retention programs (R = 0.477; p = 0.000; β = 0.23), career development (R = 0.493; p = 0.000; β = 0.22), work design (R = 0.422; p = 0.000, β = 0.16) on nurses' turnover intention. The most dominant factor is compensation (β = 0.265, p = 0.000) compared to career development and work design. The results of qualitative research showed that the key participants stated that compensation was felt not adequate with the nurse profession, the implementation of career development programs had not increased motivation and the workload was felt too much as a result of too many non-nursing tasks. Conclusion. Implications for nursing and hospital management, it is important for nurse managers to have the ability to plan and evaluate policies related to compensation, career development, and work design to improve nurse retention.

Introduction. Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that can attack various organs, especially the lung caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The use of the Directly Observed Treatment Short-course (DOTS) strategy for tuberculosis treatment has not been successful, while cases of multidrug tuberculosis resistance have increased. Long-term treatment leads to decreased motivation and despair to recover. Motivational interviewing (MI) intervention is one way to overcome them. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of motivational interviewing on hopelessness, motivation, and adherence to taking medication for tuberculosis patients. Methods. Pre experiment with the form of pretest - posttest group design was used in this study. The research sample amounted to 18 respondents by means of random sampling technique. This intervention was carried out for four weeks with two meetings per week. The independent variable is motivational interviewing, while the dependent variable is hopelessness, motivation, and compliance with taking medication. The instrument in this study uses a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Statistical tests using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. Results. The results of statistical tests showed that motivational interviewing had an effect on decreased despair (p = 0,000) and increased motivation and compliance with medication (p = 0,000). Conclusion. Motivational interviewing interventions help tuberculosis sufferers identify, evaluate and respond to something they think, so that motivational interviewing has an effect on decreasing hopelessness, increasing motivation and adhering to medication in tuberculosis patients.
