The work describes a new technological process for weed destruction and tillage in the near-stem zones of fruit trees and covers the prospects for studying the hydraulic method of weed destruction. The quality of hydraulic tillage and weed destruction has been determined to be conditioned by the shape and the required pressure of the jet. The results of theoretical calculations and initial tests show that an automated stand is needed for nozzles’ testing and optimizing the operating modes of the hydraulic device. A working body and an automated stand have been designed to study the parameters of nozzles made of polymer materials and the impact of the working body on various weeds and soil surfaces.

Reducing the duration of construction works requires additional organizational measures, such as selecting construction methods that assure a shorter realization time, engaging additional resources, working overtime, or allowing construction works to be performed simultaneously in the same working units. The simultaneous work of crews may affect the quality of works and the efficiency of construction processes. This article presents a simulation model aimed at assessing the impact of the overlap period on the extension of the working time of the crews and the reduction of a repetitive project’s duration in random conditions. The purpose of simulation studies is to provide construction managers with guidelines when deciding on the dates of starting the sequential technological process lines realized by specialized working crews, for sustainable scheduling and organization of construction projects.

When considering the operation of roller presses for the consolidation of fine-grained materials, the main problems are disturbances in the proper flow of the material and its bridging in gravity feeders. This is especially true for small and medium capacity presses, where the hoppers for dosing the material are narrow. This article presents innovative laboratory tests of the impact of using a polymer plate lining in the gravity feeder of a roller press. Polymer materials Polyacetal C (POM C) and Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) were used for the tests. The influence of the use of plates on the material flow and quality of briquettes was investigated in comparison with the case where such plates were not used. The research showed an improvement in the flow of fine-grained materials in the feeder and an increase of the briquette strength indexes, as compared to those cases when polymer linings were not used in the feeder.

In order to identify the regularities of further increasing the efficiency of transport and technological machines, it is of interest to consider the issues of determining the impact of their design and technological parameters on the quality of running-in and the operability of fuel pumps. The article analyzes the influence of the initial operating modes and the lubricating medium on the quality of running-in and subsequent performance of high-pressure fuel pumps. On the basis of theoretical studies, equations were obtained to determine the unbalanced radial force acting on the plunger and fuel leaks in the plunger pair. These expressions make it possible to establish the dependence of the specific pressure in the plunger and barrel assembly both on the design and technological parameters of the pump.

When implementing the technological process in the forest for logging operations, various factors influence, as well as taxation indicators such as (average diameter, height of the stand, reserve per hectare, availability of growth, completeness, etc.), natural climatic factors (Soil type carrying capacity of soils, depth of snow cover, etc.), degree of operator training, etc. One of the main tasks of rational justification of the technological process of cutting areas development is to find and combine controlled factors, at which performance indicators would be extreme. The most suitable variant of the technological development of the cutting area assumes what should be the intensity of logging, the layout of the cutting area, the number of loading points, and the productivity of harvesting machines. This task will be solved taking into account the influence of logging equipment and technology on the forest environment. The state of the stand left for growing after selective felling and its further development depends on the machine systems used in logging operations. The most important factor in the development of felling areas is the degree of intensity of felling. Since the quality of logging operations will depend on the method of cutting in the development of the cutting area (from the point of view of the impact on the natural environment, the soil cover, the left part of the stand, the adolescent).

Theoretical calculations and experimental studies show that during the technological process of transporting seeds by technical means, in particular ladle conveyors, macro- and especially microtrauma of grains occurs, which affects a decrease in quality indicators. Analysis of the studies shows that the structural parameters of the working bodies, the biological and physico-mechanical properties of the kernels, as well as the material for the manufacture or coating of the working elements, affect the trauma and quality of the seeds. Experimental data showed that microtrauma of winter wheat grains before transportation was in the range of 22,9- 23,5%, and after completion of the transportation process was 45,3-46,4%, that is, doubled. Further studies to improve the quality of seeds of grain crops, reduce the harmful effects of microorganisms on caryopsis and reduce macro- and microtrauma should be carried out in the relationship and the complex of biological and physico-mechanical features of the entire technological process.

Background:Pollination has a great effect on the yield of fruit trees. Blow flies are considered as an effective pollinator compared to hand pollination in fruit orchards. Therefore, this study was designed to evaluate the effect of different pollination methods in mango orchards.Methodology:The impact of pollination on quantity and quality of mango yield by blow flies was estimated by using three treatments, i.e., open pollinated trees, trees were covered by a net in the presence of blow flies for pollination, and trees were covered with a net but without insects. Results:The maximum number of flowers was recorded in irregular types of inflorescence, i.e., 434.80 flowers/inflorescence. Fruit setting (bud) was higher in open pollinated mango trees (i.e. 37.00/inflorescence) than enclosed pollination by blow flies (i.e. 22.34/inflorescence). The size of the mango fruit was the highest (5.06 mm) in open pollinated tree than those pollinated by blow flies (3.93 mm) and followed by without any pollinator (3.18 mm) at marble stage. We found that the maximum weight of mango fruit (201.19 g) was in open pollinated trees.Discussion:The results demonstrated that blow flies can be used as effective mango pollinators along with other flies and bees. The blow flies have shown a positive impact on the quality and quantity of mango. This study will be helpful in future and also applicable at farm level to use blow flies as pollinators that are cheap and easy to rear.

The aim of the work was to determine the impact of two variants (A and B) of smoking (differing in temperature values, furnace, top and bottom of the smoking chamber and the length of smoking time) in the sausage technological process carried out in a traditional smoking chamber with an indirect furnace. The research material consisted of medium-ground sausages: Country, Home and Bieszczady sausages. The research showed that, as the temperature in the smoking chamber and the smoking time changed, the following texture parameters decreased: cycle hardness 1 and 2, springiness, gumminess and chewiness. In addition, there were shown statistically significant differences (p < 0.05) in the chemical composition of Country sausage between the applied smoking variants. It was also found that the temperature of the furnace, upper and lower smoking chamber and the length of smoking time did not have a statistically significant influence on the share of red (a*) and yellow (b*) in the analysed sausages.

The work aims to the generalization and analysis of the main problems of production of fermented meat products, which are reflected in scientific publications of the meat processing industry experts. The modern researches of scientists all over the world are aimed to the achievement of bio- and microbiological safety, structure formation, use of new kinds of raw materials, features of color formation, formation of sensory properties, increase of biological value of smoked and uncooked products. The work emphasizes that the quality of finished products and the stability of the technological process depends on the quality of raw materials, the properties of their own microbiota of raw materials and/or introduced starter cultures of microorganisms. The possibility of improving the sanitary condition of raw materials and reducing the impact of pathogenic microorganisms due to the use of ultrasound, hydrostatic high pressure, high-intensity pulsating electric field, cold plasma are described in the work. Also, in addition to physical processing methods, the use of competing microflora, extracts of spicy-aromatic plants, combining salt mixtures, packaging are effective. It is stated that the formation of the structure of the finished product depends on the parameters of the technological process, the activity of exo-endoenzymes and prescription composition. It is shown that the color of fermented meat products and their stability depend on the content of natural pigments and the conditions of their interaction with nitrites under the action of microorganisms with nitrite reductase activity and pH of the environment. The possibility of obtaining a characteristic pink-red color of meat products without the use of nitrites was noted. The results of investigations of the possibility of varying the organoleptic parameters of the finished product by modeling the ingredient composition and fermentation conditions are presented. The possibilities of creation of new types of fermented meat products of functional purpose by the introduction of ω-3 fatty acids, probiotics, macro-, microelements and more are described.
