This study aimed to: (1) find out soft skills of library staff at the Library of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta; (2) identify excellent services of the Library; (3) identify the influence of the soft skills of library staff to the excellent services of the Library. The study used quantitative descriptive method. The population of the study consisted of all members of the Library of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM Library registered until February 2016, with the total number comprising 5,990 users. The sampling used accidental sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used mean and grand mean, Product Moment Correlation and Simple Linear Regression. The data were processed using IBM SPSS Statistics Version 22. The results of this study showed that the soft skills of library staff at the Library of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM belonged to good category as indicated from the calculation of the mean and grand mean of 2.97. Meanwhile the excellent services at the Library of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM also belonged to good category, as indicated from the calculation of the mean and the grand mean of 3.01. The level of correlation was significant with a value of 0.692. The direction of correlation was positive and correlation level was strong.

The study aims to describe and to know the profile of soft skills and hard skills of the college students to enter the work field. The type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The population of this research is the students of padang state university family welfare education study program totally 49 people. The sampling technique is total sampling that taking the entire population. The technique of collecting data is by transferring a questionnaire (Questionnaire) using Likert scale that has been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed through descriptive analysis with the categorization method. The results of the study is the soft skills and hard skills profile of college students to enter the work field that included in high category are indicators of work ethics, collaboration, discipline, related to norms and the medium category are indicators of speaking skills and confidence.

The goal of this research was to know analysis between career guidance procedures and soft skills on the career competencies of Batam Tourism Polytechnic student. This research used a quantitative descriptive research design with two way anova methods. Population in this research of  was students seventh semester students of the Study Program of Culinary Management, Room Division Management, and Food and Beverage Management at Batam Tourism Polytechnic was 104 respondents. Sample in this research was 84 respondents that determined by using proportional random sampling technique. Data collection techniques using questions. The research shows that there was significant differences between career guidance procedures to the student career competences, significant differences between soft skills to the student career competencies, and significant interaction between the implementation of career guidance to the soft skills in determining student career competencies.

This study aims to analyze the relationship of employee hospitality with soft skills in intrapersonal, intrapersonal, attitudes and behaviors related to improving the quality of hotel services in Makassar City and Parepare; and analyze the application of hospitality with gentle expertise, which is dominant in improving the quality of hotel services in the cities of Makassar and Parepare. This research is a quantitative descriptive study describing factual conditions with data collected from questionnaires through a direct collection of objects and interviews. The study population was hotel employees in the Food and Beverage Service (F&B) section, and a sample of 38 respondents based on purposive sampling techniques. Descriptive data analysis through frequency and percentage, and statistical analysis using Multiple Linear Regression. The findings of this study are the hospitality of employees with intrapersonal, interpersonal, soft skills and attitudes that have been applied by employees and have a positive and significant influence both simultaneously and partially on improving the quality of hotel services in Makassar City and Parepare. The results of the analysis also showed that all variables collected consisted of intrapersonal, interpersonal, attitudes and significant behaviors based on the value of tcount> ttable, and were found to be related to the hospitality obtained by soft skills consisting of attitudes (X3) which were dominant in Makassar and Parepare. A value of 0.862, which shows the same way as a hotel, is hospitality that refers to soft skills, which determine the quality of hotel services in Makassar City and Parepare.

Lecturers are responsible for implementing the three main responsibilities in university (Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi) with 12 credits to 16 credits each semester. However, many lecturers feel that the workload is very excessive. The purpose of this study was to describe the mental workload of lecturers at the Faculty of X Padjadjaran University. The method of this research was quantitative descriptive by using a total sampling technique involving 43 lecturers. Data collection used NASA-TLX instruments. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed that overall the mental workload of the Faculty of X Padjadjaran University lecturers was included in the high category both in education and teaching assignments (74.4%), research assignments (76.7%), and community service assignments (74.4%). ) Effort dimensions have the highest mean value that is equal to 51.8, while the dimensions that have the lowest mean are Perfomance dimension, namely 9.4, where the greater the mean dimension shows the large contribution in the mental workload felt by the lecturer. The conclusions, this study show that most lecturers have a high mental workload. It is suggested that the lecturers need to have balance numbers of tasks according to their abilities, balance the time working with recreation, and meet the needs of rest. The results of this study need to be followed up by examining methods or efforts that can reduce the lecturers' mental workload.

This research aims to analyze how students of Law Major of Social and Political Sciences Faculty ofTeuku Umar University responded to the issue of transferring the location of the execution of the caningto prison. Spiral of silence theory is the underlying theory of this research. The method used in thisresearch is quantitative descriptive method by distributing questionnaires to 20 students. From the resultsof the research found that the students did not agree with the government plan to move the location of theexecution of the caning to prison. It is considered that such a punishment will not make the defendantsdeterrent because the effect of shame does not exist. The defendant will not be punished by the public fornot being shown publicly. The students also considered that the prohibition to take pictures andrecordings when the process of application of caning law should not be prohibited. In addition thestudents considered that the implementation of caning law in the mosque will not cause a sense of thephobia of investors to instill their shares in Aceh and the implementation of caning law in the mosquedoes not violate human rights. The students alleged the transfer of location of the canning law full ofpolitical interests so it is feared that the ruling parties in violation of the Shariah will not receive thecaning punishment because of their power.Keyword: Opinion, students of Law Major, Caning1. The purpose of the research was to determine the effect of Islamic advertising on purchasing decision for Clean and Fresh Sunsilk Hijab Shampoo. The subject of this research was students of Riau Islamic University. While the object of this study was the effect of Islamic advertising on purchasing decision for Clean and Fresh Sunsilk Hijab Shampoo. The data sources used in this study were primary data and secondary data. The sampling technique used was proportional stratified random sampling, while the data collection technique used was a questionnaire. To analyze the data, quantitative descriptive method was used. In analyzing quantitative data, simple linear regression analysis was used where the calculation process used SPSS for windows version 23. The sample of this study was 96 people. The result of the research showed Islamic advertising on purchasing decision for Clean and Fresh Sunsilk Hijab Shampoo had a strong or high relationship, this was related to the correlation coeffisien which was 0.763. The result of the research, the result of partial test related to the significant influence between Islamic advertising on purchasing decisions for Clean and Fresh Sunsilk Hijab Shampoo, it was known from  the value of tcount (11.452) which was bigger than t table (1.661). Conclusion, there was a significant effect between Islamic advertising on purchasing decisions for clean and fresh sunsilk hijab Shampoo to students of  Riau Islamic University Keywords: Islamic Advertising, Purchasing Decision

The purpose of this study to determine the effect of personality on employee performance. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive research. Sampling technique using non probability sampling method with saturated sampling technique that is taking the entire amount of the population to be sampled that is a number of 30 respondents. Methods of data collection by interview, questionnaire and observation. For data analysis used simple linear regression. Based on the analysis of data processing that has been tested in this study stated valid and reliable. The result of simple linear regression equation is Y = 26,309 + 2,061X. Results of the hypothesis test are known to be> ttable> 5,025> 2.048. Coefficient of determination of 0.474. While the percentage of the magnitude of the influence between the variable personality and employee performance variables of 49.2% and the rest of 50.8% influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

PurposeThis paper examines the role of curiosity in volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) work contexts.Design/methodology/approachThis conceptual article relied upon an examination of literature about curiosity, VUCA and soft skills.FindingsCuriosity, when encouraged and supported within the workforce, may aid organizations in closing soft skill gaps and better navigating ambiguity, perpetually changing business landscapes, and rapidly advancing technology.Research limitations/implicationsEmpirical research is needed to validate, confirm and further explicate the specific mechanisms and value of curiosity within VUCA environments.Practical implicationsOrganizations need to move beyond espousing a value of curiosity to deliberately and effectively cultivating and supporting it within their employees.Originality/valueAlthough ample research and literature has examined curiosity, soft skills and VUCA environments independently, the body of literature on the specific role of curiosity in such environments is limited.

Background: Education is the most hopeful discipline which provide pathway for a purposeful and productive life. The progress in any filed is achieved through education. Education is a complex process. Academic failure is the one of the main challenges which students face during academic years. Current study was conducted to identify the causes of academic failure among the nursing students and determine the correlation between these causes. Materials and Methods: A quantitative descriptive cross-sectional study design used to explore the causes of academic failure among the nursing students and correlation between these variables. A convenient sampling technique use to collect the data. Questionnaire distributed in 134 participants. SPSS version 24 was used for data analysis. Results: The mean score of question related to teacher behavior was 2.62 and the overall mean score was 2.62 ± 0.20. Lack of commitment to study was 2.23 and the overall mean score was 2.23 ± 0.22. Problem with learning environment mean 2.61 and the overall mean score 2.61 ± 0.26. The mean score of courses content and examination problem 2.52 and the overall mean score was 2.52 ± 0.32. The unsatisfying relation with family mean score 3.27 and the overall mean score was 3.27 ± 0.30. The future concerns related chosen field mean score was 2.64 and the overall mean score was 2.64 ± 0.20. Conclusion: Causes of student’s failure are the unsatisfied relation with the family and psychological problems of the students. There was positive correlation between all variables except the unsatisfied relation with family and future related concern to the chosen field of study.

This research is intended to describe students ability in wiring poetry by using a picture of their idols in class VII A SMP Negeri Satu Atap Petaling Academic Year 2016/2017. This research uses quantitative descriptive method. The data is taken from students poetry in decribing their idols. This researh uses quantitative analysis. The data analysis is counted by using the percentage of students assessment in writing poetry. The data of the research is 25 students. Based on students result in writing poetry by describing their idols at class VII A SMPN Satu Atap Petaling Academic Year 2016/2017, it can be seen that there are 3 students who got 87,5 who fall into good category; there is 1 student who got 81,25 tat falls into very good category; there are 9 students who got 75 that fall into good category; there are 6 students who got 68,75 hat fall into good categroy; and there are 6 students who got 62,5 that fall into fair category. From those 25 students, the total score is 289 with the total score is 1806,5, and the mean is 72,25 that falls into good category. Hus, students ability in writing poetry in decribing their idols at class students of VII A SMP Negeri Satu Atap Petaling Academic Year 2016/2017 fall into good category.Key Words : ability, writing poetry, picturing idols.
