<p><em>Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is one of the diseases that disease quickly and can cause death in a short time. One of the natural insecticides in killing Aedes aegypti larvae and Aedes alboipictus is by using tuber bulbs extract</em><em>.</em><em>The purpose of this research is to know the difference of various concentrations of tuber bulbs extract on the death of Aedes aegypti larva and Aedes alboipictus. This design of research is experimental research </em><em>and Anova analysis</em><em>. The number of population in this study as many as 780 larvae. The concentration used in this research is 0.02%, 0.05%, 0.10%, 0.15%, 0.20%. The results showed that the average deaths of the two different test larvae for the lowest concentrations of 0.02% the average death of the test larvae were 5.80 deaths in the Aedes aegypti larvae and 4.80 deaths in the Aedes albopictus larvae.</em><em> </em><em>The conclusion of this research is the difference of concentration 0,02%, 0,05%, 0,10%, 15%, and 0,20% Gadung Umbi extract to Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus larvae mortality and concentration correlation 0,02 %, 0.05%, 0.10%, 0.15%, and 0.20% of Gadung Tuber extract on the death of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus larvae.</em><em></em></p><p> </p><p>Demam Berdarah  <em>Dengue </em> merupakan salah satu penyakit yang perjalanan penyakitnya cepat dan dapat menyebabkan kematian dalam waktu singkat. Salah satu insektisida alami dalam membunuh larva <em>Aedes</em><em> </em><em>aegypti</em><em> </em>dan <em>Aedes</em><em> </em><em>alboipictus</em> adalah dengan menggunakan ekstrak umbi gadung. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan berbagai konsentrasi ekstrak umbi gadung terhadap kematian larva <em>Aedes</em><em> </em><em>aegypti</em><em> </em>dan <em>Aedes</em><em> </em><em>alboipictus</em><em>.</em> Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian ekperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian <em>Posttest Only Control Group.</em><em> </em>Jumlah populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 780 ekor larva. Konsentrasi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu 0,02%, 0,05%, 0,10%, 0,15%, 0,20%. Penelitian ini menggungakan analisis Anova satu arah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kematian kedua larva uji yang berbeda untuk konsentrasi terendah 0,02% rata-rata kematian  larva uji sebesar 5,80 kematian pada larva nyamuk <em>Aedes aegypti</em> dan 4,80 kematian pada larva nyamuk <em>Aedes albopictus</em>. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah adanya perbedaan konsentrasi 0,02%, 0,05%, 0,10%, 15%, dan 0,20% ekstrak Umbi Gadung<em> </em>terhadap kematian larva <em>Aedes aegypti </em>dan <em>Aedes albopictus</em><em> </em>serta adanya hubungan konsentrasi 0,02%, 0,05%, 0,10%, 0,15%, dan 0,20% ekstrak Umbi Gadung terhadap kematian larva <em>Aedes aegypti </em>dan <em>Aedes albopictus</em>.</p>

Abstract: Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a viral disease that can cause death within a very short time (a few days). The main vector of DHF is Aedes aegypti mosquito, whereas the potential vector is Aedes albopictus. In the context of prevention of DHF, environmental data associated with bionomics mosquito vector of DHF, the Maya Index, are needed. DHF is still a public health problem. And for the case that there is in the city of Manado in 2013, in this case in the district of Singkil, acquired as many as 43 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever. This study aimed to describe the Maya Index at the houses of dengue hemorrhagic fever patients in the village of West Kombos, Singkil districts. Maya Index is based on hygiene risk index (HRI) and breeding risk index (BRI). This was a descriptive study. Samples were houses of patients with DHF in 2015 from January to December. The results showed that there were four patients during the year 2015. Observation of the four houses and calculation of the data indicated that two houses were in low category of Maya Index, one house in medium category of Maya Index, and one house in high category of Maya Index. Vektor utama DBD ialah nyamuk Aedes aegypti, sedangkan vektor potensialnya ialah Aedes albopictus. Dalam konteks penanggulangan DBD, juga diperlukan data lingkungan terkait dengan segi bionomik nyamuk vektor DBD, yaitu Indeks Maya. DBD masih merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat di kota Manado. Pada tahun 2013, di Kecamatan Singkil didapatkan sebanyak 43 kasus DBD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran Indeks Maya pada rumah penderita DBD di Kelurahan Kombos Barat Kecamatan Singkil. Indeks Maya didasarkan pada hygiene risk index (HRI) dan breeding risk index (BRI). Jenis penelitian ialah deskriptif. Sampel penelitian ialah rumah dari penderita DBD tahun 2015 sejak bulan Januari-Desember. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan empat penderita sepanjang tahun 2015 dan setelah dilakukan observasi ke rumah penderita dan perhitungan data didapatkan dua rumah masuk pada kategori Indeks Maya rendah, satu rumah masuk pada kategori Indeks Maya sedang, dan satu rumah masuk kategori Indeks Maya tinggi.Kata kunci: demam berdarah dengue, indeks Maya

Abstract: One way of handling The Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever ( DHF ) is by chemical using abate (temefos 1%). Abate is larvicides to eradicate Aedes spp (Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus), which is a vector of dengue disease . This study aims to determine the effect of abated dose in the number of mosquito larvae populations of Aedes spp on Malalayang district of Manado for other research in dengue endemic areas in Jakarta in 2006 by Shinta and Sukowati show tolerances status even tends resistant . This study is an experimental research laboratory. The experiment was conducted with bivariate analytic study design for September 2013 - January 2014 with the location of the research in the laboratory of Parasitology Faculty of Medicine Sam Ratulangi University Manado, which is done by placing abate from 50mg dose/L, 100mg/L, 200mg/L, 300mg/L, 400mg/L , 500mg / L in the larvae of Aedes spp . The results of paired T- test  showed ( p < 0.015 ). Conclusion: There are means that the dose of abate showed significant relationship to the number of mosquito larvae of Aedes spp populations. Abate merupakan larvasida untuk memberantas Aedes spp (Aedes aegypti dan Aedes albopictus) yang merupakan vektor penyakit DBD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dosis abate terhadap jumlah populasi jentik nyamuk Aedes spp dari Kecamatan Malalayang kota Manado karena penelitian di daerah endemis DBD di DKI Jakarta tahun 2006 oleh Shinta dan Sukowati menunjukkan status toleran bahkan cenderung resisten. Penelitian ini adalah suatu penelitian yang bersifat eksperimental laboratorium. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan rancangan studi analitik bivariat selama bulan September 2013 - Januari 2014 dengan lokasi penelitian di laboratorium Parasitologi Fakultas Kedokteran UNSRAT Manado, yang dilakukan dengan menaruh abate dari dosis 50mg/L, 100mg/L, 200mg/L, 300mg/L, 400mg/L, 500mg/L pada jentik nyamuk Aedes spp. Hasil uji T - berpasangan mendapatkan nilai (p < 0,015). Simpulan: Dapat disimpulkan dosis abate menunjukkan hubungan bermakna pada jumlah populasi jentik nyamuk Aedes spp. Kata kunci: Abate, Larva , Aedes spp

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Ae. albopictus. Aedes aegypti chooses to live indoors and Ae. albopictus in outdoors. Aedes aegypti has been proven to play a role in dengue transmission in urban areas. It is assumed that suburbs dominated by gardens, so it is possible that Ae. albopictus acts as a vector. The study aimed to analyze the relationship between Ae. albopictus and DHF incidence in suburban area. The study was conducted in Godean, Sleman Regency. 280 ovitrap were placed indoors and outdoors at across seven villages. Each village was represented by one hamlet, so there were 40 ovitrap of each hamlet. The proportion of ovitrap containing Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus larvae was calculated. The results showed that Ae. aegypti larvae was more indoors (78.50%) than outdoors (21.45%) in all villages and negatively correlates with DHF (p=0.036; r=-0.776). Aedes albopictus larvae is more commonly found in gardens (80.64%) than in homes (19.36%) and does not correlate with DHF (p = 0.702). It was concluded that in suburban endemic area of ​​Sleman Regency, Ae. aegypti larvae was more indoors and negatively correlated with DHF. Aedes albopictus larva was more in the garden and did not correlate with DHF incidence.

Abstract: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) has become a public health problem in Indonesia because of its high prevalence and ability to spread more widely. In North Sulawesi itself Case Fatality Rate of carrying dengue is increasing from year to year. The local village Malalayang has a high potential for spreading this disease. The result of an  entomology survey on adult mosquitos showed that Aedes sp was found in 40 houses of 80 house samples. From these 40 houses we got 71 mosquito samples. From these 71 samples tested and identified, we found three species: Aedes aegypti (30 samples, 42.25%), Aedes albopictus (22 samples, 30.99%), and Culex sp (19 samples, 26.76%). Mosquito density can be seen from the indices of the resting rates, which were 0.375 for Aedes aegypti, 0.275 for Aedes albopictus, and 0.65 for Aedes sp. Key words: density, adult mosquito, Aedes sp., resting rate.   Abstrak: Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) merupakan penyakit yang menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat di Indonesia karena prevalensinya yang tinggi dan penyebarannya semakin luas. Di Sulawesi Utara, Case Fatality Rate penyakit DBD tercatat terus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Kelurahan Malalayang I merupakan daerah yang potensial sebagai daerah penyebaran DBD. Survei entomologi terhadap nyamuk dewasa Aedes sp pada 80 rumah  memperlihatkan bahwa 40 diantaranya terdapat 71 sampel nyamuk. Setelah diperiksa dan diidentifikasi ternyata ditemukan tiga spesies yaitu Aedes aegypti 30 sampel (42,25%), Aedes albopictus 22 sampel (30,99%) dan Culex sp 19 (26,76%). Kepadatan nyamuk  dapat dilihat  dari angka indeks  pada resting rate yaitu Aedes aegypti = 0,375 , Aedes albopictus = 0,275 dan  Aedes sp.= 0,65. Kata kunci:  kepadatan, nyamuk dewasa, Aedes sp., resting rate.

<p>Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) or Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by a virus which is very dangerous because it can cause the patient to die within a few days. Bandar Lampung city itself is a dengue endemic area. According to data from the Lampung Provincial Health Office, in 2015, from 15 there were 2,996 deaths in 31 people. The study aimed to knowing the effectiveness of bintaro seed extract (Cerbera manghas) as larvacide in III instars Aedes aegypti larvacides experimental research with post test only control group design. The sampling method was purposive sampling. Independent variables were bintaro seed extract (dose and time), the dependent variable was Aedes aegypti larvAedes The results showed that from 5 types of doses with 5 repetitions, the death result of Aedes aegypti larvae with a dose of 0% had no mortality, a dose of 0.1% with an average of 12.55, a dose of 0.5% with an average of 15.15 , 1% dose with an average of 18.20, a dose of 1.5% with an average of 22.15, and a dose of 2% with an average of 25. At the time of contact, the death result of the larvae was found with an average 6-hour contact time. an average of 8.70, 12 hours with an average of 14.13, 24 hours with an average of 18.37 and 48 hours with an average of 20.83. According to the results of statistical tests, the most effective effect of bintaro seed extract dosage is at a dose of 1.5% and contact time of 6 hours.<strong></strong></p>

Effort to control DHF (Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever) vectors without toxic substances by using natural and enviromentally friendly materials was natural repellent made using plants that were widely available in the community.Many types of plants contain  various secondary metabolite compound substances that have the potential to be used as natural insecticides, especially as repellent of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito. The research needs  to be done to determine the effectiveness of basil leaves, citronella leaves, clove leaves and betel leaves as a repellent against Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes. This research method was an experiment in the laboratory. The materials used for this research were basil leaves, citronella leaves, clove leaves, and betel leaves. The extracted leaves were then made lotions with certain formulas, tested as a natural repellent against Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes. The concentrations used were 20%, 40% and 80% as well as negative control (0%) and positive control (brand x lotions). The number of mosquitoes used in the study were 25 x 4 treatments = 100 mosquitoes. The replication or repetition was done 10 times. To find out the difference in the number of Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes that perch on the hands of probandus which has been smeared with basil leaf, citronella leaf, clove leaf and betel leaf extracts uses Anova Statistical tests and kruskal wallis. To see the difference between concentrations was tested with LSD or Mann-Whitney test. The calculation result of the number of Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes that perch before and after applying the lotion, the lowest was the lotion of citronella leaf extract 0% (11); 20% (2); 40% (1); 80% (1); The highest protection capacity of extract lotion is citronella leaves with concetrations of 20% (81,1%); 40% (95%), 80%(98,2%); There were no significant differences between the lotion concentrations of 20% and 80%, while the concentration of 40% is significantly different. Then the LSD follow-up test finds that the protective capacity of lotion of clove leaf extract is negative and citronella leaf extract is positive. The most effective protection capacity against Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes was lotion of citronella leaf extract with concentration of 40% (95%) and a concentration of 80% (98,2%), proven by the value of protection capacity that is stable even though it has been used for up to 6 hours and can exceed the protection capacity of lotion x (90,3%). It is reccomended that further research needs to be developed to optimize the lotion of citronella leaf extract 40% and 80% with orgonolaptic test of color, aroma, stickness and comfort of its use.

Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a public health problem in Indonesia that the number of DHF cases has been increased. Morbidity number of DHF per 100,000 population at 2011 was 26.67 became 34.3 in 2012. The control of DHF has been attempted, but a lot of synthetic insecticide used has been negatively affected to environment. So, it need the insecticide alternative. The aim of study was to identify the effect of solvent sugar apple (Annona squamosa L.) seeds to the death of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes by electric liquid method. Type of this research was experimental with cross sectional study design as well as the post test only control group design. The study was conducted from February to July 2013 in the Laboratory of Entomology of the Provincial Health Office of East Java. The population of this research was the Aedes aegypti with 560 sample of mosquitoes were divided into five treatments and four repetitions for each treatment. The collection of quantitative data drawn from primary data through observation by calculating the death of Aedes aegypti of each the sugar apple seeds concentration of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% for 24 hours. The results showed that the concentration of 50% solvent of sugar apple seeds provide the greatest effect in causing the death of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes as many as 36 died after exposure. It can be concluded that there are effected by giving solvent of sugar apple (Annona squamosa L.) seeds to the death of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes by electric liquid method.

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a disease that is found in some tropical and subtropical regions. This disease is caused by dengue virus and is transmitted to humans through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. the solution taken in controlling DHF is to break the life cycle of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Vector control is generally carried out using synthetic larvicides, namely abate / temefos, but the use of abate can cause residues, environmental pollution, poisoning and resistance of the eradicated vectors so that natural larvasides from plants are needed namely temulawak rhizome (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb.) for vector control. The purpose of this study was to determine whether temulawak rhizome extract was effective or not in killing Aedes aegypti larvae. This research method includes larva collection, identification and maintenance of mosquitoes, determining sample size, making extracts and testing effectiveness. This study used a control and experiment group with 3 repetitions in the minutes to 15, 30, 45, 60 and 1440 (24 Hours). The control group was positive control using abate and negative control using aquades while the eksperiment group used extract of temulawak rhizome (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb.) with concentrations of 0.6%, 0.8%, 1%, 1.2% and 1.5%. The results of this study indicate that the temulawak rhizome extract (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb.) effective as larvicides because at the lowest concentration 0.6% can kill 100% Aedes aegypti larvae.

<p class="JKKAbstrakBodyIndo">The problem for pregnant women is iron anemia. The natural material that contains iron is honey. The study aims to determine the difference in hemoglobin levels in pregnant anemic who are supplemented Fe tablets and honey. Quasi-experimental research with nonrandomized pretest and posttest with control group design. Samples amounted to 30 people with purposive sampling technique. Analysis using paired t-test and independent sample t-test. The hemoglobin levels of anemic pregnant given Fe tablets only increased by 0,31gr/dl (3,21%), while those given Fe tablets and honey increased 1,06gr/dl (12,20%). Combination Fe tablets and honey can be an alternative for increasing hemoglobin in anemic pregnant.</p><p> </p>

Abstract Dengue hemorrhagic fever is one of the main problems in Indonesia, its handling on chemical insecticides with insecticide resistance constraints that can inhibit vector control efforts. Entomopathogenic fungi especially Metarhizium anisopliae is one of bioinsecticides that has been widely used in agriculture for controlling insect attacks, effective in killing mosquitoes, safe for vertebrates, humans and the environment and has a small risk of resistance. Appropriate methods of formulation and application for M. anisopliae infection to mosquitoes suitable for mosquito bionomic and fungus characteristics are required. Experimental research with complete randomized design was conducted to test the efficacy of.  M.anisopliae solution mixed olive oil and honey formula applied to ovitrap, plant trap and black cotton trap in infecting adult female Ae. aegypti. The death of Ae.a egypti and fungal growth on kadaver was observed everyday. 100% Ae. aegypti death was obtained in the ovitrap method with mixed formulation of M.anisopliae and olive oil. This method was also capable of infecting Ae.aegypti in various phases of both adults, eggs and larvae so that in this study ovitrap olive oil method was the most effective method for infecting M.anisopliae on Ae.aegypti. Abstrak Demam berdarah dengue merupakan salah satu masalah utama di Indoneisa. Penggunaan insektisida kimia sebagai upaya pengendalian DBD saat ini memiliki kendala resistensi insektisida yang dapat menghambat upaya pengendalian vektor. Jamur entomopatogen khususnya Metarhizium anisopliae adalah salah satu bioinsektisida yang telah digunakan secara luas di bidang pertanian untuk pengendalian serangan serangga efektif membunuh nyamuk, aman bagi vertebrata, manusia dan lingkungan serta memiliki risiko resistensi yang kecil. Diperlukan metode yang tepat baik dari formulasi maupun cara aplikasi untuk penginfeksian M.anisopliae kepada nyamuk yang sesuai dengan bionomik nyamuk dan karakteristik jamur. Penelitian eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap dilakukan untuk menguji efektivitas formula M.anisopliae. Larutan  M.anisopliae dicampur minyak zaitun dan madu yang diaplikasikan pada ovitrap, plant trap dan black cotton trap dalam menginfeksi Ae.aegypti betina dewasa. Pengamatan dilakukan pada  kematian Ae.aegypti dan pertumbuhan jamur pada kadaver setiap hari. Kematian Ae.aegypti 100% didapatkan pada metode ovitrap dengan formulasi campuran M.anisopliae dan minyak zaitun. Metode ini juga mampu menginfeksi Ae.aegypti pada berbagai fase baik dewasa, telur maupun larva sehingga pada penelitian ini metode zaitun ovitrap dinyatakan metode yang paling efektif untuk penginfeksian M.anisopliae pada Ae.aegypti.
