INTRODUCTION: In December 2019, new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2) emerged in Wuhan, China causing pandemic all over the world which results in homestay order. Homestay lead to changes in lifestyle like sedentary life, sleeping habits and eating behavior. So, the objective is to assess dietary and life style modification among nursing students of Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Pokhara, Nepal. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A descriptive cross-sectional online survey was conducted from August 1 to October 15, 2020. The setting of study (Manipal) was selected purposively in which enumerative sampling technique was used constituting total sample size of 216 nursing students. Data was collected through self-administer semi-structure questionnaire via online mode which was further analyzed using descriptive statistics SPSS 20.0 version.  RESULTS: There was slight modification in intake of food items like fruits, vegetable, protein, fats, commercialized items, carbonated/sweetened beverages and non-vegetarian diets (chicken and fish). During COVID-19, less than one-fifth (15%) wake up before 7 AM and 78.2% sleep duration is 7-9 hours. About 64.1% pass their leisure time watching TV/ facebook/ messenger/ youtube/ whatsapp/ instagram. Nearly 99.1% engaged in household activities during home stay. More than three-fourth (77.8%) of respondents were doing physical activity. But still 69.9% had weight gain. CONCLUSION: Despite physical and household activities, some unhealthy practices like waking up late, increased sleep duration and use of screen was observed. There was less modification in dietary pattern. So it is recommended to follow healthy diet like Mediterranean diet having several health benefits like weight reduction, prevention from non-communicable diseases and boost immune system in period of pandemic.

ABSTRACT Background : Overweight and obesity is a common health problem and continues to increase at this time.Overweight and obesity can affect both all ages ranging from children, adolescents, to the elderly, and all genders, either male or women. Factors that influenced obesity including genetic, physical activity, and eating patterns. In addition, quality of life and duration of sleep were among the factors that affected obesity. Less sleeping at night was related to the occurrence of overweight. The occurrence of overweight became higher whena person slept with a duration of 7 hours per day. This showed that the less time to sleep the greater the occurrence of overweight. While the quality of one's life was related to unhealthy lifestyles such as the habits of having dinner and snacks at night, the habit of eating high-fat fast food, and rarely exercising.Objective: To determine the correlation between sleep duration and quality of life with obesity in Nursing students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto.Method: Observational analytic with cross sectional approach was used in this study. The samples were taken by using random sampling technique. There were 30 respondents who fit the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Univariate and bivariate with chi square test were used to analyzed the data.Results: (1)There was a correlation between sleep duration and obesity in Nursing students with a value = 0.025.(2) There was no relationship between quality of life and obesity in Nursing students with a value = 0.855. Conclusions: Lack of sleeping can affect the occurrence of overweight to someone but there is no effect on the quality of life to overweight. Background: The COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown measures have affected the sexuality and emotional bonding among the couple across the world. Objectives: We aimed to assess the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown on the married people’s emotional bonding and sexual relationships in 3 south Asian counties (Bangladesh, India, and Nepal). Methods: A cross-sectional online survey was conducted among Bangladesh, India, and Nepal residents from April 3 to April 15, 2020. The survey was designed in English. The participants were selected through convenience sampling technique, the link of the online questionnaire was shared with the participants. Only participants older than 18 years and above, married, and living with their spouses were included in the study. Results: A total number of 120 respondents were included finally for analysis from the participating countries (India, Nepal, and Bangladesh). The mean age of the participants was 35.42 (±5.73) years; the majority were males under the age of 40 years and had completed postgraduation as their qualification. Among the study participants, more than half (53.8%) of the women reported being sexually active during the lockdown, whereas 41% of the men reported being sexually active. Among the sexually active participants, most women (57.7%) reported that they perceived positive emotional bonding with their partners. Nevertheless, there was no significant difference observed when compared with men. There are variations in responses. However, no significant association was identified. Conclusion: There are a few insights from the study, that is, there was no significant difference found in almost 3 countries in emotional intimacy. There had been a trend that there is improved emotional bonding with their partners, although no significant difference was observed.

Abstract Introduction Academic stress and study habits are crucial indicators of academic success. At the moment, faulty study habits press on the students into academic stress. The present study was conducted to identify the academic stress and study habits of university students of health science. Methods This cross-sectional descriptive survey was conducted among 150 undergraduate students of nursing, physiotherapy, and pharmacy (n = 50 in each group). A stratified random sampling technique was used to select the study participants. The information on academic stress and study habits was collected by using the Student Stress Inventory and Palsane and Sharma Study Habit Inventory, respectively. Results Mean score of academic stress was found to be 75.353 ± 16.463. Pharmacy students had a higher level of stress compared to physiotherapy and nursing students (p = 0.013). Furthermore, the prevalence of unsatisfactory study habits among undergraduate students was 72%, with a mean score of 52.7 ± 9.152. Also, nursing students had a higher level of study habits compared to physiotherapy and pharmacy Students. There was no significant relationship found between study habits and academic stress (r = −0.048, p = 0.557). There was a significant association found between study habits and gender (p = 0.021), as well the association found between stress level and course type, Pre-University Course percentage, and first-year percentage (p = 0.044, 0.04, and 0.044 respectively). Conclusion Academic stress and poor study habits are prevalent among undergraduate students. This indicates strategies need to be formed to enhance healthy study habits and alleviate the academic stress of the students, mainly in professional courses; it is an urgent need.

Academic procrastination is one of the postponement behaviors in lecture activities that are often found in students, in this study respondents experiencees a high level of procrastination that could hamper academic activities. One of the causes of procrastination is the use of gadgets that are too long to play games, music, entertainment and so on. Goals : The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between the use of gadgets and academic procrastination onNursing Students level II Saint Elisabeth Medan 2019. Method : The study design is Cross Sectional. Total sampling technique sample are112 students. The measuring instrument used is a questionnaire. Result : The results shows that the majority of use of positive gadgets (92.9%) and moderate academic procrastination (63.4%). Based on the Fisher's Exact Test, it obtained p-value 0.026 (p <0.05), thus indicating a relationship between the use of gadgets and academic procrastination on nursing students level II STIKes Saint Elisabeth Medan. Conculsion: It is expected that respondents will be able to manage time well and not use gadgets for a long time for things that are not useful. Respondent s are expected to use gadgets for things that can support learning activities.

The teaching and learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic underwent a change, previouslyitwasdoneface-to-face, now it must be done online, both learning theory and laboratory practice. Online laboratory practice learning will have an impact on student learning outcomes where students will have difficulty achieving learning outcomes because they cannot practice directly with appropriate tools. The study aims to identify the factors that affect the effectiveness of online method laboratory practices in nursing students of the Nursing Department of the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health, JakartaIII.This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional approach,with Chi- Square analysis, simple and multiple linear regression. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 143 respondents. The questionnaire was developed by researchers and validity and reliability tests have been carried out. The results of this study indicate that students' motivation and learning method scontribute 1.74 times to the success of online laboratory practical learning. It is necessary to readiness of lecturers in making practical learning media online methods and readiness of students to change learning patterns from face to face to online.

Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an emerging infectious disease caused by novel coronavirus and hence this pandemic has a great impact on the education system. Nursing students as part of the health team should know the coronavirus like other communicable diseases. Methods: A quantitative approach and cross-sectional survey research design used to assess the knowledge of Coronavirus among 145 nursing students of district Sirmaur selected through the convenient sampling technique. An online self-structured questionnaire used as a tool for data collection. Descriptive data analysis was done with SPSS (version 23).Results: The result of the study revealed that only 31.7% of students had good knowledge about COVID-19, and 68.3% had average knowledge. Conclusions: There is a need for intervention such as educational programs or pieces of training to educate about the pandemic and its prevention practices to undergraduate students to make our society more secure.

<p>This study aims to determine the relation between physical activity, sleep duration, breakfast habits and fast food consumption habits at school-age chidren. This is a quantitative study using cross sectional design. The study was conducted in SDS Kartika VIII-5 Jakarta, as many as 102 fourth and fifth grade students were involved. The sampling technique used for this study was stratified sampling technique. The data collection instrument used questionnaire and interview. The data obtained were then analyzed by Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that 63,7% of children were overweight. Bivariate result using Chi-Square statistical test showed that a significant relationship between physical activity (p = 0,003), sleep duration (p = 0,046), fast food habits (p = 0,035). There was a significant relation between physical activity, sleep duration, and fast food consumption habits with the prevalence of overweight.</p>

AbstractThe role of fathers in child rearing has changed in recent years due to an increase in maternal employment, which has increased the prevalence of co-parenting. It is important therefore to establish the role fathers have in feeding their child and how their attitudes and perceptions may influence the strategies they employ during mealtimes. In addition, research suggests that maternal and paternal feeding practices are associated with child's gender and weight status. Therefore, the aim of this research was to investigate the association between fathers’ perception of child's weight and paternal non-responsive and structure-related feeding practices, and the extent to which this is mediated by a child's gender.Cross-sectional data from an Irish sample of fathers, who completed an online survey based on one of their children aged 5–12 years old (n = 155). The Feeding Practices and Structure Questionnaire (FPSQ) assessed paternal feeding practices, and it was validated for use within this sample. A 5-point Likert scale response ranging from Very Underweight to Very Overweight to the question “Do you think your child is . . ?” assessed fathers’ perception of child's weight. Associations were assessed using multiple linear regressions.Fathers who perceived their sons as underweight reported higher levels of rewarding the child to eat (β = .24; p = 0.04) and overt restriction (β = .27; p = 0.03) than fathers who perceived their sons to be normal weight. Fathers who perceived their sons as overweight reported higher levels of overt restriction (β = .26; p = 0.04) than fathers who perceived their son to be normal weight. In relation to daughters, fathers who perceived them as underweight reported higher levels of both reward for behaviour (β = .28; p = 0.006) and reward for eating (β = .20; p = 0.04), while fathers who perceived their daughters as overweight reported lower levels of structured mealtimes (β = -.27; p = 0.012) compared to fathers who perceived their daughter as normal weight.Findings suggest that paternal perception of child's weight influences the type of feeding practices utilised by fathers, with the child's gender a mediating influence on reported specific feeding practices. Overall, fathers who perceive their son or daughter to be underweight or overweight appear to engage in more non-responsive and less structure-related feeding practices than fathers who perceive their child to be normal weight.

Perilaku caring dipandang sebagai bagian penting dari keperawatan dan sebagai kompetensi yang diharapkan pada mahasiswa keperawatan. Kelompok teman sebaya sangat berguna dalam menyediakan lingkungan di mana mahasiswa keperawatan dapat belajar caring. Dukungan sosial juga penting untuk pengembangan profesional dan pribadi mahasiswa keperawatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis hubungan peer caring behavior dan dukungan sosial dengan perilaku caring mahasiswa keperawatan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi sarjana keperawatan sebanyak 250 mahasiswa yang terdiri dari semester 4, 6 dan 8 teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan perilaku caring diadaptasi dari kuesioner Caring Behavior Inventory (CBI) dan kuesioner Peer Caring Behavior Scale serta Social Support Questionnaire. Hasil: Rata-rata peer caring behaviors 63,1, rata-rata dukungan sosial 16,5, rata-rata  perilaku caring 129,3, ada hubungan peer caring behavior dengan perilaku caring (r=0,269, p=0,015) dan hubungan dukungan sosial dengan perilaku caring (r=0,215, p=0,01). Kesimpulan: terdapat hubungan antara peer caring behavior dan dukungan sosial dengan perilaku caring.  Pendidik harus mendorong pelaksanaan perilaku caring diantara teman sebaya di kalangan mahasiswa sebagai sarana memfasilitasi hubungan mahasiswa dengan pasien dan keluarganya di masa yang akan datang. Pendidik juga mempertimbangkan peran potensial yang berkembang dari teknologi media sosial sebagai sumber dukungan sosial yang dapat diakses dan sebagai media pembelajaran dalam peningkatan perilaku caring. Kata Kunci: peer caring behaviors; dukungan sosial; perilaku caring  mahasiswa keperawatan  PEER CARING BEHAVIORS AND SOCIAL SUPPORT TOWARDS CARING BEHAVIOR OF BACHELOR NURSING STUDENTS AT FACULTY OF HEALTH HARAPAN BANGSA UNIVERSITY ABSTRACT Caring behavior is seen as an important part of nursing and as an expected competency in nursing students. Peer groups are very useful in providing an environment in which nursing students can learn caring. Social support is also important for the professional and personal development of nursing students. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between peer caring behavior and social support towards nursing students' caring behavior. This research was a descriptive correlational study with a cross sectional approach. The sample of this study was 250 undergraduate nursing students consisting of semesters 4, 6 and 8. The sampling technique used total sampling. The research instrument used caring behavior was adapted from the Caring Behavior Inventory (CBI) questionnaire and the Peer Caring Behavior Scale questionnaire and the Social Support Questionnaire. The average of peer caring behavior was 63.1, the average social support was 16.5, the average caring behavior was 129.3, it is stated that there is a relationship between peer caring behavior and caring behavior (r = 0.269, p = 0.015) and the relationship between social support and caring behavior (r = 0.215, p = 0.01). There is a relationship between peer caring behavior and social support with caring behavior. Educators must encourage the implementation of caring behavior among students as a means of facilitating student relations with patients and their families in the future. Educators also consider the developing potential role of social media technology as an accessible source of social support and as a learning medium in enhancing caring behavior. Keywords: peer caring behavior; social support; caring behavior; nursing student’s caring behaviour

Background: Education is the most hopeful discipline which provide pathway for a purposeful and productive life. The progress in any filed is achieved through education. Education is a complex process. Academic failure is the one of the main challenges which students face during academic years. Current study was conducted to identify the causes of academic failure among the nursing students and determine the correlation between these causes. Materials and Methods: A quantitative descriptive cross-sectional study design used to explore the causes of academic failure among the nursing students and correlation between these variables. A convenient sampling technique use to collect the data. Questionnaire distributed in 134 participants. SPSS version 24 was used for data analysis. Results: The mean score of question related to teacher behavior was 2.62 and the overall mean score was 2.62 ± 0.20. Lack of commitment to study was 2.23 and the overall mean score was 2.23 ± 0.22. Problem with learning environment mean 2.61 and the overall mean score 2.61 ± 0.26. The mean score of courses content and examination problem 2.52 and the overall mean score was 2.52 ± 0.32. The unsatisfying relation with family mean score 3.27 and the overall mean score was 3.27 ± 0.30. The future concerns related chosen field mean score was 2.64 and the overall mean score was 2.64 ± 0.20. Conclusion: Causes of student’s failure are the unsatisfied relation with the family and psychological problems of the students. There was positive correlation between all variables except the unsatisfied relation with family and future related concern to the chosen field of study.
