Kata Kunci: ayam sentul, IgY,  gambaran darah, ketahanan tubuhABSTRACTThis study was to aim the description of white blood cells and red blood cells as indicators of immunity in Sentul chicks. This study used 20 hen chickens and 20 cock-chicken mated, consisting of 10 chickens with high IgY concentration and 10 chickens with low IgY concentrations. Based on the results of mating, 34 chicks were obtained consisting of 17 chicks that were from the hen with low IgY concentration. The parameters observed included the description of red blood cells (erythrocytes, hematocrit and erythrocyte index) and the description of white blood cells (leukocytes and their differentiation). The experiment was conducted as a completely randomized design with 2 treatments, all treatments were repeated 10 times. The data obtained were analyzed using the SAS program t-test. The results of this study indicate that the difference in IgY concentration in the hen did not effect on red blood cells and white blood cells. However, there is a tendency for low lymphocyte values and high H/ L in chicks originating from hens with low IgY concentrations. These results indicate that chicks from hens with low IgY concentrations are more susceptible to heat stress.Keyword: blood picture, IgY, immunity, sentul chicken

Carbon monoxide (CO) contained in cigarette smoke is a very strong poison, if it is smoked by the lungs it will be easier to bind hemoglobin, so that red blood cells will lack oxygen, which can cause damage to blood vessels. with the process of atherosclerosis (narrowing). Sansevieria trifasciata has the ability to absorb poisons such as CO. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Sansevieria trifasciata leaf extract in absorbing CO contained in cigarette smoke and assessing the amount of CO absorbed by Sansevieria trifasciata leaf extract. The method used is a pure experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 3 different treatments and 3 repetitions. The results of the 3 treatments showed that P1 (Sanseviera trifasciata wet extract) had the ability to absorb CO an average of 12.67 ppm every 15 minutes, in contrast to P2 (ethanol extract of Sanseviera trifasciata) which absorbs CO. 91.11 ppm every 15 minutes P3 (ethanol extract and CMC leaves from Sansevieria trifasciata) has the ability to absorb CO by 37.89 ppm every 15 minutes. The highest absorption effectiveness was obtained by ethanol extract and bracelets containing ethanol extract with the addition of CMC.

This study was carried out to investigate the haematological and biochemical indices of broiler chicken fed graded levels of boiled African yam beans. The birds, 120 in number were allotted into four treatment groups having three replicate per treatment and 10 birds per replicate in a completely randomized design were used. Diet 1 was the control and corn-soy bean-based while diets 2, 3, and 4 had boiled African am beans at 10, 15 and 20% respectively. Blood samples were collected from eight weeks old broiler chicken into two sets of labeled sterile bottles and used for the analysis. The values observed for white blood cells (2.43, 2.71, 2.72. 2.76), packed cell volume (31.00, 31.04, 28.00, 27.00) and mean corpuscular haemoglobin (32.83, 32.70, 29.60, 33.93%) for diets 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively fell within the normal range reported for healthy broiler chicken while the red blood cells for diets 1, 2, and 3 are comparable. Blood of birds in Diets 2, 3 and 4 had similar values of alkaline phosphatase which were higher than those of diet 1. Those in diets3 and 4 had highest values of urea (30.00mg/dl), creatinine (0.413mg/dl) and lowest values of albumen (1.500d/L). Feeding boiled African yam bean above 10% level of inclusion resulted in increase in alkaline phosphatase, urea and creatinine. For optimal productivity 10% inclusion of boiled African yam beans is therefore recommended.

A study was conducted using twenty Friesian x Bunaji heifers to evaluate the effect of supplementing inorganic feed grade Selenium and Vitamin E on the haematological and biochemical profile. The study consists of four treatments with five animals per Treatment in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Treatment 1 served as Control without Selenium or Vitamin E supplementation. Treatment 2 was supplemented with 3 mg of feed gradeSelenium. Treatment 3 with 20 mg of feed grade Vitamin E. Treatment 4 had a combination of 3 mg feed grade Selenium and 20 mg of Vitamin E. Two sets of blood samples were taken from the animal via jugular venipuncture using a 10 mL syringe fitted with a needle into sample bottles for haematological and biochemical analysis. Neutrophils (19.78 - 29.88%) were similar (p<0.05) and Se supplementation recording the highest value. Packed cell volume(19.14 – 22.22%), Haemoglobin, Red blood cells, White blood cells, Eosinophil, Monocytes, Basophil and Lymphocytes analyzed were similar (p>0.05). It was observed that there were similarities (p>0.05) in Glucose, Serum protein, globulin, urea N, albumin, MDA protein, AST, ALT and ALP analyzed except for GSH-Px (22.38 – 24.70 μ/ml). Glutathione peroxidase was higher (p<0.05) in Friesian x Bunaji heifers supplemented with vitamin E and lowest with no supplementation. All parameters analyzed were within the normal range for apparently healthy cattle thereby suggesting that Selenium and Vitamin E as antioxidant are effective in scavenging for free radicals and reducing oxidative damage.

Indonesia is a tropical country encountered species of mosquitoes, such as Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus. One of the efforts made to eradicate mosquitoes is to use mosquito repellent. Mosquito repellent is one type of insect killers household pesticide (insecticide) containing dangerous transfultrin. This study aims to determine the effect of anti-mosquito smoke burn paper against the number of erythrocytes in mice (Mus musculus L.). The study was conducted in September 2016 in the Laboratory of Mathematics of Tarbiyah and Teaching Faculty of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. The research method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with treatment P0 (without exposure to insect repellent), P1 (anti mosquito burn paper, 2 hours / day), P2 (anti mosquito burn paper, 4 hours / day), P3 (anti mosquito burn paper, 6 hours / day) each with 6 replications, for 20 days. On the last day to do the stabbing in the tail to draw blood, were calculated against the number of red blood cells (erythrocytes) by using Haemocytometer. The results showed that exposure to fuel anti-mosquito burn paper affect the red blood cells of mice that P1 (anti mosquito burn paper, 2 hours / day) with an average of 8,72 x 106 / mL blood, P2 (anti mosquito burn paper, 4 hours / day) with an average of 8,87 x 106 / mL blood, P3 (anti mosquito burn paper, 6 hours / day) with an average of 7,89 x 106 / mL of blood. Effect of anti-mosquito smoke burn the most significant papers in a decrease in the number of erythrocytes of mice (Mus musculus L.) is 6 hours of exposure to an average of 7,89 x 106 / mL. The result of Anova test showed F count > Ftable namely 7,80 > 4,40 it means the treatment has significance.

SummaryThe effect of red blood cells, rbc, and shear rate on the ADPinduced aggregation of platelets in whole blood, WB, flowing through polyethylene tubing was studied using a previously described technique (1). Effluent WB was collected into 0.5% glutaraldehyde and the red blood cells removed by centrifugation through Percoll. At 23°C the rate of single platelet aggregtion was upt to 9× greater in WB than previously found in platelet-rich plasma (2) at mean tube shear rates Ḡ = 41.9,335, and 1,920 s−1, and at both 0.2 and 1.0 µM ADP. At 0.2 pM ADP, the rate of aggregation was greatest at Ḡ = 41.9 s−1 over the first 1.7 s mean transit time through the flow tube, t, but decreased steadily with time. At Ḡ ≥335 s−1 the rate of aggregation increased between t = 1.7 and 8.6 s; however, aggregate size decreased with increasing shear rate. At 1.0 µM ADP, the initial rate of single platelet aggregation was still highest at Ḡ = 41.9 s1 where large aggregates up to several millimeters in diameter containing rbc formed by t = 43 s. At this ADP concentration, aggregate size was still limited at Ḡ ≥335 s−1 but the rate of single platelet aggregation was markedly greater than at 0.2 pM ADP. By t = 43 s, no single platelets remained and rbc were not incorporated into aggregates. Although aggregate size increased slowly, large aggregates eventually formed. White blood cells were not significantly incorporated into aggregates at any shear rate or ADP concentration. Since the present technique did not induce platelet thromboxane A2 formation or cause cell lysis, these experiments provide evidence for a purely mechanical effect of rbc in augmenting platelet aggregation in WB.

Purpose: to study hematological parameters of blood in bulls-producers of dairy breeds on the day of semen collection in the Udmurt Republic after a long winter period of operation, depending on the breeds, age and place of selection.Materials and methods. The work was performed at the Federal Research Center for Animal Husbandry named after Academy Member L. K. Ernst on the basis of AO "Udmurtplem" of the Udmurt Republic in the period from 2020 to 2021 on dairy bulls (n=20) aged 15-69 months, including a purebred Holstein breed of domestic selection (n=6), a Holstein black-and-white breed of European selection (the Netherlands, n=6), a black-and-white breed with blood transfusion on Holsteins on at the level of 94-98% (n=8). The content of white blood cells, red blood cells, hemoglobin and hematocrit, depending on age and breed, was studied on the ABC VET hematological analyzer on the day of taking the seed.Results. It was found that on average, in 20 bulls aged 15-69 months, the level of white blood cells was at the level of reference values of 8.8±0.25 x 109/l, red blood cells 10.3 x 1012/l, which is 50% more than the reference values. The concentration of hemoglobin is 128.0±2.92 g/l, hematocrit is on average 54.3%, with a norm of 24-46%. Breeding bulls at a reliable level, differing in age, showed that some animals had high indicators for red blood cells of 10.3±0.26 x 102, for hematocrit of 54.3% against 24-46% of reference values. Also, according to hematological indicators, there was a tendency to increase the concentration of hemoglobin and hematocrit in European-bred bulls.Conclusion. The study of the variability in hematological parameters depending on the selection showed that there is no significant difference in leukocytes and all indicators are at the level of reference values, and in erythrocytes more than 50% than the highest indicators. The highest hemoglobin values were at the level of 141-156 g/l instead of 128 g/l according to the highest reference values. Hematocrit also showed high max values in all groups in comparison with the reference values of 59-66% versus 46% in the norm. It is necessary when analyzing hematological blood parameters in addition to the average statistical indicators (M+m) also, monitor the variability (min-max) in order to obtain more objective information.
