Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has been particularly risky for people with disabilities and severe medical conditions, not only because the virus may be a direct threat to their physical health but also because of social exclusion and negating their needs and rights. Objective: This study aimed to assess the attitudes of people from different age groups towards people with intellectual disability (ID).Methods: The study included 223 people (19–85 years old) and was conducted in May 2020–January 2021. Data was collected using the Multidimensional Attitudes Scale Towards Persons With Disabilities and a self-designed Questionnaire regarding the attitudes towards people with ID during the pandemic. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 24 (ANOVA).Results: The results of the study showed that the general attitudes were only slightly supportive and differed among people of different age groups: the youngest and the oldest generation expressed the most positive attitudes while the adults (35–60 y.o.) expressed the most negative ones. Conclusions: As the pandemic is spreading rapidly with no definitive solution, awareness to create more positive attitudes towards people with ID and recognizing their needs is essential.

All local governments have the same responsibility and obligation in positioning themselves as institution that are friendly to persons with disabilities, including Central Lampung Regency in Lampung Province. There are two important questions from the research which is the basis of this study; (1). What are the efforts made by the Central Lampung Regency government towards groups with disabilities? (2). What are the problems that occur in the management of disability groups in Central Lampung Regency?. The type of this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The data used by researchers in this study are sourced from primary and secondary data. In this study, primary data obtained through interview techniques was carried out by giving several questions related to the problem issues in research to the informants who had been determined. Informants in this study was collected with a purposive sampling technique. The key informants in this study were 9 heads of local government organizations, 10 representatives of community organizations, and 5 members of the regional parliament. All of them play a role in data collection activities which include focus group discussions, in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis was carried out using interactive data analysis techniques. In the last three years, the number of people with disabilities in Central Lampung has increased. However, the increase in the number of people with disabilities in Central Lampung is due to the expansion of the meaning and scope of disabilities in Indonesia regulation. It is known that several actions at the level of local government organizations in facilitating groups with disabilities can be designed in a more focused manner in the design of programs and policies covering the government, population and civil registration, social, health, education, employment, and transportation, and public infrastructure sectors.

Abstract The purpose of this study was a diagnosis of the attitudes of students of Warsaw universities towards people with disabilities and the variables which impacted on these attitudes. Additionally, we examined the relationship between the need for social approval and explicit attitudes towards people with disabilities. The study focused on two components of attitudes: behavioural (measured by preferable social distance - SDSB) and cognitive (tested with a semantic differential scale - SDSO). 318 students completed a survey including a demographic sheet, a social desirability scale, the SDSB and SDSO. The results indicate that students expressed positive attitudes towards people with disabilities. The impact of such variables as gender, the type of disability and the need for social approval was registered and were differentiated in regard to components of attitudes. The results are discussed with reference to earlier research and cues for further studies are suggested.

In this paper, we primarily dealt with the low representation of persons with disabilities in the tertiary education system and targeted specific barriers that keep people with disabilities outside the tertiary education process. The mentioned problem was approached from the perspective of social exclusion and one of the main tasks of the conducted research was to gain insight into the types of barriers that affect persons with different types of disabilities depending on their student status (they did not enroll at a university, they discontinued their studies, they are currently studying, they have completed their studies). The results were gained by conducting in-depth interviews covering all the mentioned categories of persons with disabilities. The results of the research point to the existence of numerous obstacles that people with disabilities face in the process of acquiring tertiary education. It has turned out that the surveyed persons with disabilities face insurmountable obstacles in the form of architectural, institutional and social barriers, depending on the type of disability and their social environment.

Although the attitudes toward people with disabilities had improved, there is still evidence that they remain stigmatized. The aim of this research was to determine the differences in attitudes toward people with disabilities among participants based on their sociodemographic characteristics and attitudes toward inclusive education. The sample consisted of 261 students that were surveyed using the Multidimensional Attitudes Scale toward Persons with Disabilities, and a questioner designed by the authors regarding attitudes toward inclusion. Students who have had previous contact with people with disabilities had more positive attitudes. The majority of them had positive attitudes towards inclusive education and had the opinion that children who are enrolled in inclusive classes do not disrupt typically developing children‟s‟ educational process. It is of great importance to examine attitudes of students toward people with disabilities, because it is considered that attitudes of students represent future attitudes of the population. Key words: attitudes, students, disability, inclusion.

The aim of this study was to determine the direction and intensity of high school graduates’ attitudes towards social integration of persons with intellectual disability and examine correlation between certain characteristics of the subjects and their attitudes. The sample consisted of 95 high school graduates from ˮDušan Vasiljevˮ secondary school in Kikinda. The direction and intensity of attitudes was examined by the Community Living Attitudes Scale – Mental Retardation Form (CLAS-MR; Henry, Keys, Jopp, & Balcazar, 1996), while the data related to race, gender, previous experience of contact with people with disabilities and interests of career dealing with this population were obtained through the questionnaire for testing socio-demographic variables constructed for this survey. The results showed that the attitudes of graduates towards social integration of people with intellectual disability are positive on the scale in general, and three of the four domains of the applied instrument. Our respondents expressed a positive attitude towards the empowerment of these people, their involvement in the community's activities and experiencing these people to themselves. The respondents expressed a negative attitude through the perceived need of people with intellectual disabilities to be placed in protected living and working conditions, beyond the wider community. Connection between the attitudes to gender, previous experience of contact, close contact with people with disabilities and interest for professional work with persons with disabilities was not established.Bearing in mind the presumption about the influence of attitudes towards the behavior of a particular social group, the knowledge of attitudes and their determinants in young people towards this population, on the threshold of their entry into adulthood, can provide useful guidance for planning and implementing practical procedures with the aim of a higher quality integration of people with intellectual disabilities into the community in the future.

The focus of this paper is to examine Albert Camus' work on disability. The research method used is library philosophy research with qualitative descriptive characteristics. Camus' works are used as formal objects to analyze material objects, namely people with disabilities in Indonesia. Data analysis was performed by applying methodical hermeneutic elements: interpretation, historical continuity, heuristics, and description. This paper aims to explore the meaning of life for persons with disabilities in Indonesia from the perspective of Albert Camus' philosophy. The findings of this paper, from Camus' philosophy, make disability absurd. In order to have meaning in life, they must face absurd situations through loving themselves. That can be achieved by being self-aware and doing good things for yourself and others. These people use these ethical competencies to carry on the responsibility of doing good things for others.

The development of all spheres of life leads to the formation of new challenges of accessibility (physical, social, informational, etc.) facing people, including people with disabilities. Taking into account the development of the tourism sector in Transcarpathia, the study of accessibility of this environment for people with disabilities becomes relevant. The purpose of the article is to present a sociological section of the issue of accessibility of tourist infrastructure in the Transcarpathian region. To achieve this goal, the following research methods were used: analysis of scientific sources on the state of the problem; presentation of the results of the sociological research "Forests for society − forests without barriers&quot. The article presents the results of the project Forests for Society − Forests without Barriers (FOR SOC), which was implemented by partners from Ukraine, Slovakia and Norway under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism Program of Cross-Border Cooperation Priority. The project aims to establish a cross-border partnership to support tourism development and the promotion of tourist attractions, in particular in forest areas, together with capacity building in multifunctional forest management to provide social functions and offer services to forest visitors and tourists, including people with disability opportunities. The result of the analysis was the identification of the main problems in terms of accessibility of the tourism environment and the feasibility of using mechanisms (financial, information) in improving the opportunities for people with disabilities to visit these facilities. It has been established that the main obstacle in visiting the forest for all age groups of respondents is their limited opportunities and uncleared cluttered forest. It is important to take into account foreign experience in providing the tourism industry with modern information and communication technologies to improve opportunities to visit tourist sites. Ensuring «accessibility» is crucial and social, as it directly affects the use of the full range of human rights by persons with disabilities and other low-mobility groups; plays a key role in creating an inclusive society in which people with disabilities can participate in everyday life.
