Many definitions of quality, efficiency and effectiveness exist in literature and can be considered as the relationships between inputs, outputs and outcomes. From this point of view efficiency may be defined simply as the relation of outputs to inputs, effectiveness as the relation of outcomes to outputs and inputs, but quality as a measure of change of outputs and outcomes. The objective of this paper is evaluation of higher education study programs quality, efficiency and effectiveness in the case of Latvia University of Agriculture engineering study programs. The conceptual framework of quality, efficiency and effectiveness was defined, which allow to perform the comparative analyze of the study programs inputs, outputs and outcomes depending on the study year. It is concluded that even the quality, as the change of inputs or outputs, decreases, at the same time the quality, as the change of outcomes, can increase. If the efficiency of study program, as the relation of outputs to inputs, decreases at the same time the effectiveness of the study program, as the relation of outcomes to outputs or inputs, can increase depending on study year.

This study aims to determine learning outcomes and the scientific attitudes of students at physics education study programs using virtual lab. This type of research is quantitative research. It uses descriptive statistical analysis and inferential stattistics to illustrate data learning outcomes and the scientific attitudes of students at physics education study Universitas Flores using the virtual lab. Data collection techniques used in this study were test for learning outcomes and observatory techniques for the scientific attitude. From the results of descriptive analysis for learning outcomes, it shows that the average is 75,05 in the enough category. The results of inferential statistics show t count is 2,770, sig(2-tailed) 0,011. Because the sig(2-tailed) value of 0,011 is smaller than 0,05, thus it can be concluded that use of the virtual lab influences the learning outcomes. For the scientific attitudes it shows that the average is 76,14 in the enough category. The results of inferential statistics show t count is 3,875, sig(2-tailed) 0,001. Because the sig(2-tailed) value of 0,001 is smaller than 0,05, thus it can be concluded that use of the virtual lab influences the scientific attitudes of students at physics education study Universitas Flores. This introductory book on Geophysics was created to support teaching materials for basic subjects in the Geophysical Engineering Study Program, Physics Study Program, and related Study Programs in addition to other major books. This book introduces the basics of the earth and the structure of the earth, as well as the layers of the earth globally. Furthermore, it is also shown how the relationship between geophysics and other related branches of science within the sphere of geoscience. So that each scientific concept is clearly distinguished, although sometimes there is a very close relationship. In another section, various geophysical methods are described, starting from the basic theory, working principles, approaches and applications. All physical parameters that are applied from each discussion such as seismic method, geoelectric method and IP, gravity method, georadar method, and magnetic method. The hope is that this book can provide benefits for readers and enthusiasts of geoscience.

The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of various teaching methods used in higher education and the perception of the students regarding these methods. In order to determine the possible ways to obtain strategic advantages and benefit from the strengths, the university has to know what drives foreign students in choosing a certain study program, even if it is outside their country of origin. At the same time, knowing the disadvantages that prevent them from doing so, helps the university include ways to correct the weaknesses or to offer solutions to them. The students, participating in this research, are enrolled at the European University in Madrid, from different study programs and degrees (license, master and doctoral programs) and were asked to answer a questionnaire about the use of teaching methods, about their perceptions upon effective teaching and the reasons that have determined them to choose to follow a study program. The results were in favor of a higher use of projects, group activities and case studies during classes and seminars at the European University of Madrid and of using new technologies in the educational system (e-learning, simulations, use of intranet, and activities in laboratories). As a primer characteristic searched for when choosing a study program, the students mentioned practice, mainly for developing abilities useful for applying for a job as soon as possible. It is, therefore, important to analyze the teaching methods and this research helps us understand how students see the teaching process and which are the methods that help them to better understand and to be more active during classes. Key words: creativity development, innovative teaching, practical activities, teaching methods.
