Introduction. The difficultly predictable socio-economic and socio-moral difficulties of modern society at the stage in the development of our society have exacerbated the problem of upbringing and formation of adolescents, which negatively affects the process of their adaptation and socialization. This issue is addressed at different levels: legal, medical, psychological, social. Theoretical justification In adolescence, identity goes through a phase of formation, being in the zone of proximal mental development. Identity and identification are important characteristics of self-awareness. Timely identification of identification disorders makes it possible to detect deviations in the formation of identity in adolescents, which is extremely important both for diagnosing the personality of adolescents with deviant behavior and for their correction. Results. The problem of the formation of the social identity of adolescents with deviant behavior puts before the authors of the article the need to search for directed and indirect technologies for working with adolescents, taking into account the characteristics of their personality. The authors proved the difference in the social identity of adolescents with normalized behavior and adolescents with deviant behavior and identified the features of the social identity of adolescents with deviant behavior, having received a qualitative assessment after using diagnostic methods and analysis of the data obtained. The discussion of the results. The analysis of psychological and pedagogical technologies for the formation of the social identity of adolescents with deviant behavior has shown the possibility of using patterns of successful, socially approved behavior for various aspects of adolescent life.

IntroductionEnglish is the lingua franca of science. How well doctors understand English is therefore crucial for their understanding of scientific articles. However, only 5% of the world’s population have English as their first language.MethodsObjectives: To compare doctors’ comprehension of a scientific article when read in their first language (Norwegian) versus their second language (English). Our hypothesis was that doctors reading the article in Norwegian would comprehend the content better than those reading it in English.Design: Parallel group randomised controlled trial. We randomised doctors to read the same clinical review article in either Norwegian or English, before completing a questionnaire about the content of the article.Setting: Conference in primary care medicine in Norway, 2018.Participants: 130 native Norwegian-speaking doctors, 71 women and 59 men. One participant withdrew before responding to the questionnaire and was excluded from the analyses.Interventions: Participants were randomly assigned to read a review article in either Norwegian (n=64) or English (n=66). Reading time was limited to 7 min followed by 7 min to answer a questionnaire.Main outcome measures: Total score on questions related to the article content (potential range −9 to 20).ResultsDoctors who read the article in Norwegian had a mean total score of 10.40 (SD 3.96) compared with 9.08 (SD 3.47) among doctors who read the article in English, giving a mean difference of 1.32 (95% CI 0.03 to 2.62; p=0.046). Age was independently associated with total score, with decreased comprehension with increasing age.ConclusionThe difference in comprehension between the group who read in Norwegian and the group who read in English was statistically significant but modest, suggesting that the language gap in academia is possible to overcome.

The rapid breakthrough observed today in the field of information and communication technologies testifies to the movement of mankind towards a new post-industrial phase of development -the information society. At the present stage, information is the main source of development of society. The penetration of information technology into almost all socio-economic spheres entails the formation of new needs and a new way of life for mankind. While noting the positive aspects of the information society, one should not forget about its negative aspects. With the development of modern society, the consumer attitude of people to the world is increasing. There is a danger of information dependence. For some people, virtual reality is often more significant than reality itself. To fully disclose the research, the scientific article used methods such as a systematic approach, historicity, comparative historical, structural, political analysis, functional and cultural analysis. At the end, scientifically grounded conclusions, recommendations and proposals on the need for spiritual and intellectual development of society weredeveloped.

In the light of the growing number of crimes committed by convicted persons and persons in custody, the aspects of preventive impact on the processes that arise in the penitentiary system are taking a leading place. It is important to understand that employees of institutions and bodies of the penitentiary system make significant efforts to minimize criminal attacks. However, this activity is not always systematic and logically consistent. It seems that the problem lies in the theoretical basis of the fight against penitentiary crime, which has not yet fully developed. The purpose of the scientific article is to provide a theoretical understanding of the Institute for the prevention of penitentiary crimes, to understand the methods and measures of preventive action, and to determine the sources of information support. The author tried to define the boundaries of penitentiary crimes as accurately as possible, to show the difference in methods and measures of crime prevention in the penitentiary system. The article indicates the sources of information support, analyzing which is possible to understand very clearly what methods will be effective in identifying the causes and conditions that contribute to the Commission of penitentiary crimes, and what measures will contribute to the fight against crime of convicts and persons in custody.

The psychological factors of a premature response on simple reaction-time tasks were examined by comparing the difference between control responses (33 samples) and premature responses (33 samples) using the index of Contingent Negative Variation (CNV). The first (warning) stimulus was a click, the second (imperative) stimulus was a colored circular figure presented on a CRT, and the interstimulus interval was set at 3 sec. 72 trials were administered to the 24 subjects, then 33 artifact-free CNV data in a premature response were shown. Analyses indicated that CNV amplitudes in the premature response were lower than those in the control response at frontal position. Especially in the premature response, CNV waveforms stayed around baseline toward S2 at F3 and F4. In the analyses of variance, every CNV component (early, late, and whole components) at F4 or Fz was significantly lower for the premature response. These results suggested that the optimal prediction, arousal, and attention do not seem to be maintained in a premature response.

A feature of modern society in the era of cultural globalization is its mobility. One of the manifestations of this social mobility is people spending free time on tourist trips. Tourism, as understood as a sociocultural phenomenon, is a special manifestation of location. In addition to the motives for undertaking trips in martial arts tourism, individual destinations, specific tourism potential and the typology of participants in tourist meetings were analyzed, and individual cases were examined. The research materials were 44 articles published in scientific journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and EBSCOHost databases. Publications, which appeared in the sources discussed between 2005 and mid-2020s were considered. Some periodicals were present in all three of the quoted databases, therefore specific articles were taken into account only once. This study will cover a meta-analysis of martial arts tourism in journals indexed in several major scientific databases. It is related to the phenomenon of tourism of this type, which is discussed from various scientific perspectives. As a research tool, the Atlas.ti program was used (mainly in the qualitative research or analysis of qualitative data), by means of which correlations and dominant items were sought. A comparison with other publications suggests that no similar meta-analysis has so far been performed in relation to the literature devoted to the subject of “martial arts tourism”. Particularly interesting conclusions were identified: (1) there are thematic relations between the destination country, the main destination, and the destination country; (2) martial arts are treated by researchers as both primary, and secondary threads, (3) the difference between travel destinations and types events attended by people interested in martial arts, (4) the variety of event formats plays a role in popularizing the subject of these forms of physical activity, and (5) the number of publications describing specific destinations is not particularly related to specific countries as destinations.

A novel teaching method is proposed to design the contents of the interdisciplinary courses for the specialized mechanical engineering education. The paper discusses the necessity of assigning the proper interdisciplinary courses on the analysis of currently increasing mixed-talent requirement in our modern society. The characteristics of interdisciplinary research are elucidated in order to obtain the hints for guiding the reform of teaching method to suit for the new status that occur in the interdisciplinary course. The relationships and intersections among the different majors are regards as the most important factor for teaching the interdisciplinary courses well. Refining the associated knowledge from these intersections is the core task for teachers since these contents are very easy to avoid the intense inner anxiety and conflict for the student due to the difference between the own and other majors. For the teacher, the contents of lessons should be designed on the basic of the specialized skill of student’s major and not exceed their knowledge structures on a large degree. Based on this behavior, the detailed knowledge of specialized mechanical engineering is gradually assigned in the classes and terminally the whole specialized industry is learned by the student, which is the desired goal. Finally, the example of electrical machinery is addressed for verifying the effectiveness of the approach of refining the intersections to design the contents and classes. The practical results show that the method proposed in this paper has the high effectiveness on teaching the interdisciplinary specialized mechanical engineering education. In addition, we believe that this schema is also able to be applied for the related interdisciplinary courses.
