When it comes to finding the best fit of nonlinear curves to acceptable models, linear regression with least squares is the most effective technique. Because residuals (the difference between observed and predicted data) must follow a normal distribution and the data must be free of outliers and uniform variance, statistical tests are used to identify the most appropriate model for a given situation (homoscedasticity). If all of these characteristics are satisfied, the system is said to be robust. In parametric nonlinear regression, one of the numerous assumptions is that the within-group variances of the groups are all the same, which is one of several assumptions (exhibit homoscedasticity). If the variances vary from one another (show heteroscedasticity), then the model is not statistically competent to describe the data as a whole. Data on the detection of Vibrio cholerae DNA with polystyrene-coacrylic acid composite nanospheres as modelled using the nonlinear four-parameter logistic (4PL) regression was preliminary check for homogeneity of variance using the Bartlett’s and Levene’s tests. It was found that the critical value of 2 was 28.869, according to Bartlett's test findings. Excel's CHIDIST function yielded a probability of 0.389 (not significant), suggesting that the variances of the residuals did not change significantly. The p-value for Levenes's test was 0.917, indicating that there were no distinct changes between the residual variances meaning that the use of the 4-PL model in fitting the data was adequate statistically.

Diarrhea is currently still the third leading cause of under-five mortality after pneumonia. Diarrhea is one of the diseases that causes death and illness in toddlers every year. One result of diarrhea is nutritional disorders due to reduced food intake, vomiting, hypoglycemia, dehydration which causes metabolic balance disorders because fluid intake is not balanced with expenditure through vomiting and diarrhea. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the duration of diarrhea when giving tempeh porridge to toddlers at the Puruk Cahu Health Center. The design of this study is analytic research with this type of research is Quasi Experiment using the design of the Group Control Post Test Only Design. The population in this study were toddlers who had acute diarrhea in the working area of Puruk Cahu Health Center, Murung Raya Regency and the sample size was 38 people (19 people as the control group and 19 experimental groups). The statistical test used in this study was the Mann Whitney test. The results of statistical tests using the Mann Whitney test found that p value = 0.002 means the value of p value < alpha (0.05), meaning that there is an effect of giving tempe porridge to the duration of diarrhea at Puruk Cahu Health Center. Diarrhea in the group that was not given tempeh porridge lasted longer than the group that was given tempeh porridge. The Conclusion is that there is a difference in the duration of acute diarrhea in the administration of tempe porridge for toddlers at the Puruk Cahu Health Center.

The objectives of this study were to: 1) analyze the factors that influence farmers to transfer lowland rice commodities to fisheries, 2) calculate how much the difference in income received by farmer households from lowland rice commodity transfers to fisheries. The results showed that the factors that influenced the decision of the farmer household in transferring lowland rice commodities to fisheries at the test level up to 20% were farmers' income (4.3%), total production (12.9%) and farming risk (12.6. %), while the land area owned has no significant effect, while the results of statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon sign test analysis, obtained the value of Zhitung = -5,373 <Ztabel with p value (Asymp sign 2 tailed) = 0,000 which is less than the critical value of research 0, 05. This shows that the income of farmers who change the commodity of lowland rice to catfish farming is greater, namely Rp. 94,833,642 per year per hectare compared to income from lowland rice farming that does not change its land function, namely Rp. 25,154,791, - per year per year. acres.

Since the introduction of serial analysis of gene expression (SAGE) as a method to quantitatively analyze the differential expression of genes, several statistical tests have been published for the pairwise comparison of SAGE libraries. Testing the difference between the number of specific tags found in two SAGE libraries is hampered by the fact that each SAGE library is only one measurement: the necessary information on biological variation or experimental precision is not available. In the currently available tests, a measure of this variance is obtained from simulation or based on the properties of the tag distribution. To help the user of SAGE to decide between these tests, five different pairwise tests have been compared by determining the critical values, that is, the lowest number of tags that, given an observed number of tags in one library, needs to be found in the other library to result in a significant P value. The five tests included in this comparison are SAGE300, the tests described by Madden et al. ( Oncogene 15: 1079–1085, 1997) and by Audic and Claverie ( Genome Res 7: 986–995, 1997), Fisher’s Exact test, and the Z test, which is equivalent to the chi-squared test. The comparison showed that, for SAGE libraries of equal as well as different size, SAGE300, Fisher’s Exact test, Z test, and the Audic and Claverie test have critical values within 1.5% of each other. This indicates that these four tests will give essentially the same results when applied to SAGE libraries. The Madden test, which can only be used for libraries of similar size, is, with 25% higher critical values, more conservative, probably because the variance measure in its test statistic is not appropriate for hypothesis testing. The consequences for the choice of SAGE library sizes are discussed.

Background and Objectives: Clinicians need to build an astute doctor-patient relationship. The term clinical empathy is the ability of doctor to cognitively appreciate a patient’s perspective, experiences, and deliver such an understanding back to patient. Studies associate high physician empathy with improved patient trust and clinical outcomes. In Pakistan, there is paucity of research data on this relationship. This study assessed the empathy and its relation to fatigue levels among physicians and surgeons. Methods: This was a cross-sectional analytical study involving 262 Physicians and Surgeons (1:1) chosen by convenience sampling method. Physicians and Surgeons were included from three hospitals in Rawalpindi from September 2017 to February 2018 and RAO soft sample calculator was used. The Jefferson Scale for Physician empathy (JSPE) (score range 20-140) and Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI-20) (score range 20-100) were used as data collection tools. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 23. Statistical tests including T-test and Pearson Correlation were used. Results: Overall, mean score of empathy was found to be 98.8±21.9 (range; 46-138). The empathy in Physicians (106.8±18.3) was found to be greater than Surgeons (89.4±22.1) and the difference was statistically significant (p value <0.01). Mean score of fatigue was 50.6±16.0. The fatigue level in Surgeons was greater than Physicians and the difference was found to be statistically significant (p value < 0.01). Strong negative correlation was observed between empathy and fatigue (r= -0.5, p=<0.01) using Pearson correlation. Conclusion: Overall, physicians had better empathy than surgeons, while fatigue scores were higher among surgeons. Fatigue is associated with empathy decay. This research provides an understanding of empathy deterioration and other factors responsible for it. doi: https://doi.org/10.12669/pjms.37.3.1973 How to cite this:Rashid Z, Sharif I, Khushk IA, Raja AA. Abstract: Routine blood examination is the earliest blood test or screening test to determine the diagnosis of an abnormality. Blood easily froze if it is outside the body and can be prevented by the addition of anticoagulants, one of which Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetate (EDTA). Currently available vacuum tubes containing EDTA anticoagulants in the form of K2EDTA and K3EDTA. K3EDTA is usually a salt that has better stability than other EDTA salts because it shows a pH approaching a blood pH of about 6.4. The purpose of this research is to know the difference of erythrocyte index results include MCH, MCV and MCHC using K3EDTA anticoagulant with K2EDTA. This research is a cross sectional design. This study used venous blood samples mixed with K2EDTA anticoagulant and venous blood mixed with K3EDTA anticoagulants, each of 30 samples. Data were collected and analyzed using paired different test. Based on data analysis that has been done on MCH examination, p value <0,05 then there is a significant difference between samples with K3EDTA anticoagulant with K2EDTA to erythrocyte index value. Then on the examination of MCV and MCHC obtained p value <0.05 then there is no significant difference between samples with K3EDTA anticoagulant with K2EDTA to erythrocyte index value.
