Existing technological schemes of lime-carbon dioxide purification of diffusion juice include lime treatment (defecation) and two-stage treatment with carbon dioxide (saturation) with sediment separation. Improving cleaning methods aimed at increasing its efficiency is an urgent task. Lime-carbon dioxide purification of the concentrated sugar-containing solution before boiling allows to improve the quality of sugar, reducing the syrup color and increasing its natural alkalinity. The proposed purification scheme, which includes overcarbonation to low syrup pH values (8 and below), its mixing with carbonated syrup and adding activated suspension of II saturation sediment, makes it possible to obtain a purified solution with an increased effect of adsorption purification, with a significantly low content of high-molecular compounds and their calcium salts. The results of the study of various schemes for the purification of syrups in a laboratory setup have been presented. A method for purification of concentrated sugar-containing solutions, protected by a patent of the Russian Federation for the invention, has been developed, which provides for the reduction in the consumption of calcium hydroxide by 0,10–0,12% of CaO by weight of the product or by 0,04% by weight of beet.

The level of confidence in the future is considered as one of the important characteristics of the quality of life. Social and economic well-being depends on what expectations prevail in a society. It is shown that the reduction of interest rates on loans is not a sufficient condition for overcoming investment pessimism. It is indicated that with low capacity utilization, cheap loans can lead to stagnation of industries, contributing to the preservation of the existing structure of used capacities. The quality of coordination of economic activity is considered as one of the factors of business confidence in the future. It is noted that the competitiveness of existing industries has a great impact on the formation of new industries in the economy. It is emphasized that the transition to the system of interactive strategic planning remains an urgent task for our country.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, schools did not open face-to-face learning services. The Ministry of Education and Culture has issued a policy learning from Home (BDR) to support the principles of the Education Policy in the COVID-19 Pandemic that the health and safety of students, educators, education personnel, families, and the community is the top priority. However, learning in Vocational School (SMK) is mostly based on practice so that BDR activities cannot be implemented. One thing that is done to overcome this is that some practicum activities can be executed using multimedia known as virtual laboratories. The aim of this study is to conduct a need analysis for the development of a virtual laboratory.  Needs analysis is carried out to gather data about gaps and needs as well profiles of students that can be used as a basis or reference in developing virtual laboratory at the next stage. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews, and distributing questionnaires. The results showed that a virtual laboratory was needed to support practical learning for vocational students.
